Episode 272 - Deadpool, Wolverine, & The X-Men Go To IGN Live by Crashing Game Night

[00:00:11] .

[00:00:12] So boys, I really wanted you to come in just here.

[00:00:16] Who is soon as you can access audio and with that ladies and gentlemen, I want to welcome

[00:00:24] you to Crashing Game Night.

[00:00:26] My name is Matt Diorio, your host.

[00:00:28] As always talking about tonight we're joined by the babyface one Theo Wolski.

[00:00:34] What's up everybody?

[00:00:36] Down there in the bottom square is our matriotia services, the man with the couch, the man,

[00:00:43] the myth, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Bolidio.

[00:00:47] How's it going guys?

[00:00:48] How's it going tonight?

[00:00:52] What's up my nerds?

[00:00:53] And ladies and gentlemen, I want to save him for last because we really need to check

[00:01:01] in on the beating one tonight.

[00:01:03] We need to see how he's feeling after the Lakers blew a 20 point lead to the Nuggets going down

[00:01:10] to two and they're now over their last 10 games going back to 2022.

[00:01:19] That's insane.

[00:01:21] That's absolutely insane.

[00:01:23] So we just wanted to make sure we just had to see how Lakers plenty of time.

[00:01:27] How are they feeling?

[00:01:28] It's just let it all out.

[00:01:30] So let's talk about the feelings.

[00:01:33] Let's talk about it.

[00:01:34] Oh, it sucks.

[00:01:36] It's unfortunate, but yeah, I don't see how we're going to come back from that.

[00:01:43] I mean, I mean, it's possible this year is we're rebuilding.

[00:01:51] You're rebuilding?

[00:01:52] Okay.

[00:01:53] That's the excuse after LeBron James leaves the Lakers.

[00:01:59] Honestly.

[00:02:00] Yeah.

[00:02:01] We're going to have to rebuild.

[00:02:03] Probably very soon, but no joke.

[00:02:07] This is a rough year.

[00:02:09] They're going to have to pull something together to get back on it, but it's insane.

[00:02:15] It's a whole new...

[00:02:17] And the thing is LeBron James, we were talking about this before you hopped up on the show,

[00:02:21] is that LeBron James immediately blamed the officiating in the third quarter before

[00:02:25] that the Nuggets started their comeback.

[00:02:28] That one call is what changed everything.

[00:02:31] You know, let's not forget that Anthony Davis had zero points in the fourth quarter and

[00:02:39] LeBron James, when it's tied at 99, had a wide open three to pretty much about seal

[00:02:49] the deal and he bricked it.

[00:02:52] Yep.

[00:02:53] At the same time for him to point out about a foul way further into the game shows that

[00:03:01] he did not have his mind in the game.

[00:03:03] He did not have the mental management in order to do the game if he's going to blame

[00:03:07] it on that.

[00:03:09] And what's worse is at the end of the game, everybody at ball arena was chanting who's

[00:03:15] your daddy?

[00:03:18] Okay.

[00:03:19] Dang.

[00:03:20] That goes back to last year at the championship parade.

[00:03:25] Coach Mike Malone was basically going, who's your daddy?

[00:03:30] You know, when basically nobody had the Nuggets winning last year, you've got...

[00:03:37] And what's even better is the Joker, Nikola Jokic showed up dressed as Gru from Despicable

[00:03:45] Me the other night.

[00:03:46] Oh, I saw that commercial.

[00:03:48] That was awesome.

[00:03:49] Even better, they did a trailer for Despicable Me 4 and it was basically him in counseling

[00:03:56] going, you know, he told me I look like Gru and they're like, what's the problem?

[00:04:01] He's like, it's not everybody else.

[00:04:03] They just keep following me and then he goes and opens the blinds and it's all of the

[00:04:07] minions.

[00:04:08] Oh my God.

[00:04:09] That's funny.

[00:04:10] He goes, like, guys, I'm not your boss.

[00:04:13] Yeah.

[00:04:14] So honestly, I can feel for Lakers Nation being that, you know, the Colorado Rockies are 5 and

[00:04:23] 17.

[00:04:24] So I'm understanding what losing is feeling like.

[00:04:27] However, that being said, I do hope for your sake, Jerry, that the Lakers get rid

[00:04:32] of LeBron soon and start getting players back in there because honestly...

[00:04:38] I mean, you know, his salary will, I believe, open up the cap a bit more.

[00:04:44] But they still need to afford to pay him out though.

[00:04:47] Yeah.

[00:04:48] Well, I mean, I mean, most likely they'll have them finish out his contract.

[00:04:53] I mean, if anything...

[00:04:54] Oh yeah.

[00:04:55] Oh yeah.

[00:04:56] Yeah.

[00:04:57] But we'll see.

[00:05:00] You don't see Jordan missing those key shots.

[00:05:03] And that's what a lot of the analysts are saying is if you look at the errors, right?

[00:05:08] Well, Jordan would have closed that out.

[00:05:10] Oh yeah.

[00:05:11] That's his wheelhouse, man.

[00:05:13] That's why...

[00:05:14] And the other person that they're talking about that would have closed us out and which

[00:05:20] that arena has never, has not been the same is the Black Mamba.

[00:05:25] Oh yeah.

[00:05:26] Kobe.

[00:05:27] Kobe would have taken that down and he would not have allowed that to happen.

[00:05:33] Oh, absolutely.

[00:05:36] Well, I mean, I would say after Shaq, that's when he really kind of like restructured and

[00:05:47] became a leader.

[00:05:49] When he became the Black Mamba, that's when he became a leader on the team.

[00:05:54] That team has not been...

[00:05:55] The Lakers have not been the same since Kobe.

[00:05:59] And no matter what, and I think that's the problem with LeBron is that you look

[00:06:04] at everywhere he's gone, the Cavaliers.

[00:06:06] He ran people off.

[00:06:08] He didn't like playing with them.

[00:06:09] So he said, go trade them, go get other players.

[00:06:11] He did the same thing in Miami.

[00:06:13] He's done the same thing with the Lakers now.

[00:06:16] He didn't like certain personnel.

[00:06:18] So he's like, go trade them out and go get a couple people.

[00:06:20] And honestly, what Denver is showing is that you don't need this big super

[00:06:27] mega star team to win a championship.

[00:06:31] They are looking...

[00:06:32] I hate to say this, is they're looking like Michael Jordan's bowls where you have

[00:06:38] Nikola as like your quote unquote superstar and everybody around them knows their role.

[00:06:44] It is playing it well because that's what made the bowls so good in the finals.

[00:06:49] Is that you had MJ, but then you had Pippin, you had Paxton, you had Cartwright,

[00:06:52] you had Horace Grant, even Rodman.

[00:06:57] You know, everybody knew what they needed to do to get things done.

[00:07:00] And that's what the nuggets are doing right now.

[00:07:02] And I saw one, I don't remember which show it was.

[00:07:06] It was a clip on TikTok, but they were saying is the time to beat the nuggets

[00:07:10] is like the first couple of games of the playoffs because if they start,

[00:07:13] if that machine starts going, it's done.

[00:07:17] All they're...

[00:07:18] They move on their...

[00:07:19] They're...

[00:07:20] They're well made.

[00:07:21] Yeah. So.

[00:07:22] Nice. Nice.

[00:07:24] But I will say, your Dodgers are looking...

[00:07:28] Yeah.

[00:07:29] Your Dodgers are looking great.

[00:07:31] Like no joke.

[00:07:33] Like...

[00:07:35] Although I got to catch up on a couple of games.

[00:07:36] I've missed some of the highlights.

[00:07:39] It's been a bit busy.

[00:07:41] I mean, granted, I mean, they're 13 and 11, but, you know,

[00:07:46] they've been three and seven in the last 10 games, but they've been...

[00:07:50] They've been battling, but the games have been interesting.

[00:07:52] The games have been fun.

[00:07:54] Yeah.

[00:07:55] And we'll see what happens.

[00:07:56] You know, you've got show and Yamamata going.

[00:08:00] So.

[00:08:02] Anyways, so now that we've checked in on Jerry, Theo, Jason.

[00:08:07] So how you fellas doing?

[00:08:10] Dired.

[00:08:11] Yeah.

[00:08:12] As Matt knows, I've been sleeping way too much

[00:08:15] and fall asleep like an old man at 7, 8, 7 p.m.

[00:08:18] Oh my gosh.

[00:08:20] So old.

[00:08:22] Dude.

[00:08:22] I'm not.

[00:08:23] I'm not doing OK.

[00:08:26] I'm still making adjustments with being understaffed

[00:08:30] and still no word on whether or not we're going backfill.

[00:08:33] So that's fun.

[00:08:35] And then I've got an archery tournament in three weeks.

[00:08:39] Yeah, three weeks, two weeks, two weeks, two weeks.

[00:08:44] OK, I haven't picked up the bow once since September.

[00:08:47] So.

[00:08:48] Oh, no.

[00:08:50] Yeah, it's it's there's like so much dust

[00:08:53] on the on the bag and everything.

[00:08:55] I got to dust it off.

[00:08:57] Where did that be?

[00:08:58] Florida.

[00:08:59] Oh, shit.

[00:09:00] Oh, yeah.

[00:09:04] Yeah, I mean, OK, this year this year was just a fun year anyway.

[00:09:07] So it's something fun.

[00:09:09] I'll get to see everybody and have some fun.

[00:09:11] Yeah, no pressure at all.

[00:09:13] Period.

[00:09:15] So when you do have your exit from the tournament,

[00:09:20] are you when they ask you, what are you doing next?

[00:09:22] Are you going to basically say you're going to Disney World?

[00:09:25] It's right.

[00:09:25] Only if I win.

[00:09:27] Nice.

[00:09:28] Oh, OK.

[00:09:31] Jason, how you doing?

[00:09:33] You know, hanging out, chilling.

[00:09:36] Yeah, nothing, nothing new, nothing new to report.

[00:09:41] How's the change?

[00:09:42] No more chicken.

[00:09:43] Oh, dude, change is amazing.

[00:09:45] Yeah, so good.

[00:09:47] Oh, my God.

[00:09:47] Dude, stress.

[00:09:48] The stress level at work now is just dropped.

[00:09:52] We went to we went to Costco and got two things.

[00:09:57] Then stuff at the food court.

[00:09:58] We were able to feed my the entire family for eight dollars.

[00:10:03] Oh, yeah.

[00:10:04] That's how they get you.

[00:10:05] Two slices of pizza and two of those hot dog and sodas.

[00:10:09] Oh, I get you, man.

[00:10:10] No, it's impressive.

[00:10:12] We just shared our sodas with the boys.

[00:10:14] That's their awesome.

[00:10:15] You know, it's free refills.

[00:10:17] So.

[00:10:19] So let's let's get to it tonight.

[00:10:20] We got some we got some fun stuff to talk about.

[00:10:24] And, you know, we're going to be doing some tear

[00:10:27] jerker moments tonight because of the latest.

[00:10:28] We're going to actually catch up on X men and discuss

[00:10:31] what we've thought about the last two episodes.

[00:10:34] But first and foremost, so

[00:10:39] I want to get your guys opinion on this before we kind of talk about those is

[00:10:42] that how do you feel about Warner Brothers CEO

[00:10:46] basically canceling Batwoman

[00:10:50] and Coyote versus Acme to get a tax write off.

[00:10:54] Which allowed him to essentially make his salary

[00:10:56] forty nine point six million dollars for this coming year.

[00:10:59] Only forty nine only forty four.

[00:11:02] I couldn't believe when I heard that, man.

[00:11:04] Now I know when I came on my feet

[00:11:07] and I found the video on it like a like a reviewer on on the whole situation.

[00:11:13] And it's ridiculous.

[00:11:16] So forgive my ignorance.

[00:11:18] I don't understand how a tax write off

[00:11:21] increases your salary.

[00:11:24] I don't understand that.

[00:11:25] How does that work?

[00:11:27] Does anybody know?

[00:11:29] I have no idea.

[00:11:30] Oh, OK. That's a tax break.

[00:11:32] That's way above my deal.

[00:11:33] So, you know, I don't have to worry about that.

[00:11:36] That's fair. Yeah.

[00:11:40] I think I want to know that.

[00:11:41] Probably I think it's more probably because what it is is you

[00:11:46] you take the right you take you take the tax write off,

[00:11:49] which means you're writing off 50 million, you know,

[00:11:51] or however much it costs to make those movies.

[00:11:54] Writing that off against your bottom line.

[00:11:57] So if you're going to get a tax credit, essentially for the write off,

[00:12:00] it's going to basically lower your tax.

[00:12:03] How much they're going to take out of your stuff.

[00:12:04] Much they're going to actually going to take out.

[00:12:06] So basically in the end, you're making more money.

[00:12:09] OK, that makes sense.

[00:12:10] But some of the rumors going around is that some of the crew

[00:12:14] haven't even paid yet.

[00:12:16] I don't know how true that actually is.

[00:12:18] But if that is the case that they cancel these projects

[00:12:22] to do the tax write off so you can get more money and haven't paid

[00:12:25] the people who worked on those movies.

[00:12:29] That's bullshit. That's jacked up, brother.

[00:12:31] That's insane. Like.

[00:12:34] Honestly, I'm sure by now that, you know, there are obviously

[00:12:39] those are union jobs, so obviously they're covered.

[00:12:41] But so I'm sure they're in delegation right now

[00:12:44] or something's going on by I mean by now.

[00:12:47] But the fact that it's gotten out, that's great.

[00:12:51] But that's that's still ridiculous.

[00:12:55] The fact that they still haven't been paid.

[00:12:59] But I do know for a fact that at least they're covered by unions.

[00:13:02] But I'm sure it's going to it's going to take a while

[00:13:06] for them to get paid.

[00:13:09] And that sucks.

[00:13:11] That's that's that's that's a fucked up move.

[00:13:14] Can I say if that's true?

[00:13:16] If I am somebody that's going to go work on a Warner Brothers project,

[00:13:20] I'm going to be like, I want my money up front.

[00:13:22] Yeah, I want my cheddar first.

[00:13:25] Like he needs to be in my bank account and we're good.

[00:13:29] Like, you know, show me the money, you know?

[00:13:34] Yeah, no joke.

[00:13:36] So I think like I think Warner Brothers isn't in a great spot.

[00:13:41] Let's be honest, like.

[00:13:43] You hope that, you know, Gunn is going to fix the DC EU.

[00:13:49] A lot's going to be riding on that.

[00:13:51] That's that's a big wheelhouse.

[00:13:53] That's a big cash cow that Dan if that doesn't work.

[00:13:57] They have they have the Harry Potter series that is kind of what's

[00:14:01] going on with that right now.

[00:14:04] And that wasn't really like heavily

[00:14:07] like loved when they announced that.

[00:14:11] There were there were people that were like happy about it.

[00:14:13] And then the other half were like skeptical at best.

[00:14:18] I mean, that's most of the companies is now anyways, they're trying to milk

[00:14:24] the cow dry completely.

[00:14:26] Just meet the cow alone, try to do some new cow alone.

[00:14:33] Yes. So we wanted the chickens.

[00:14:37] Go for like meet the parents.

[00:14:38] Go try milk in a cat just like little nipples.

[00:14:42] Well, actually they are they are doing that right now.

[00:14:44] It's called House of the Dragons.

[00:14:47] Mm hmm. Dragons. Yeah.

[00:14:50] Isn't that the game?

[00:14:51] They said it's another prequel.

[00:14:53] Well, it's still yeah, you got to remember Warner Brothers.

[00:14:56] First season would do pretty good. That's right.

[00:14:58] That's right. Yeah.

[00:15:00] So no, I did it did well.

[00:15:03] But I mean like leave Harry Potter alone.

[00:15:05] I feel like Harry Potter is done and over with.

[00:15:08] So when you look at what Warner Brothers is responsible for,

[00:15:10] you have Aquaman in the Lost Kingdom.

[00:15:13] Oh, my God.

[00:15:14] So bad. The color purple remake.

[00:15:17] You have Dune part two.

[00:15:18] Yeah, I got those words.

[00:15:20] Godzilla X Kong, the new empire, which from everything I've seen is done really

[00:15:24] well, it's going to end up going to Amazon, I think for a wait to see that

[00:15:28] situation. Then you've got something called Challengers.

[00:15:31] You've got Turtles all the way down, which is not related to the turtle.

[00:15:34] Teenage Mutant Turtles. This is just some some movie.

[00:15:38] Furiosa Mad Max saga.

[00:15:40] So they're doing a prequel to that.

[00:15:43] It looks good.

[00:15:44] The Watchers, which is the new.

[00:15:46] I'm a TV toy and it's worth the new.

[00:15:50] You know, watchers look pretty good.

[00:15:53] And see that you've got Horizon.

[00:15:56] So the new Kevin Costner.

[00:15:59] That'll look good on.

[00:16:01] Horizon. But Blink.

[00:16:05] Trap look good, too.

[00:16:07] I don't know which one.

[00:16:08] I don't know anything about Blink twice.

[00:16:10] Neither do I look, but it is being directed by Joey Kravitz.

[00:16:15] But then you've got Beetlejuice, Beetlejuice in September.

[00:16:18] You've got the sequel to Joker.

[00:16:21] Hmm.

[00:16:22] Like, you know, it's Joker.

[00:16:25] You've got Red.

[00:16:26] Walking Phoenix is. Yeah.

[00:16:28] Yeah, he's back as a Joker for this one.

[00:16:30] And it's going to have Lady Gaga playing Harley Quinn in it.

[00:16:35] M Night Shyamalan's new movie, The Trap.

[00:16:38] Don't forget that one.

[00:16:39] That's going to be that looks interesting.

[00:16:43] And then you've got a distribution only.

[00:16:45] So Lord of the Rings, the war of Rohirrim.

[00:16:50] Which I haven't even heard of that one.

[00:16:52] Never. You know, is trapped with Hartnett in it?

[00:17:00] Trap. Yes.

[00:17:01] OK.

[00:17:02] The one at the rest.

[00:17:05] Answer or whatever.

[00:17:06] Yeah, for the serial killer.

[00:17:08] Then you look at the rest of their slate, right?

[00:17:10] You've got Superman coming in July of 25.

[00:17:15] You have Kat in the Hat coming March 6th of 2026.

[00:17:19] And then the Batman part two in October 2026.

[00:17:25] There isn't a ton of stuff on their calendar

[00:17:28] that is really going to be like, hey, these are going to be bang up movies.

[00:17:33] Other than you know, people are going to go see Bill Juse.

[00:17:35] That's just a given because Michael Keaton back for it.

[00:17:38] Joker, that's a very niche movie.

[00:17:41] As much as I love these like Batman and stuff like that.

[00:17:44] The first Joker was interesting,

[00:17:47] but it's not one that is going to make you go to the theater

[00:17:50] like the Batman part two.

[00:17:53] It's not.

[00:17:55] And then I kind of feel like with a number of those,

[00:17:59] they are actually kind of like, I would say, like nearly half.

[00:18:03] Of those are at least original ideas rather than continued.

[00:18:07] Like people just be able to use this sequel.

[00:18:11] You got Twisters, which is a remake.

[00:18:14] So it's something that's already been done.

[00:18:16] I mean, Superman has been done.

[00:18:17] Batman has been done like everything's.

[00:18:19] But I come in them for at least at least half of that list

[00:18:23] is original stuff.

[00:18:25] Twisters, twisters is a remake.

[00:18:28] It's a sequel.

[00:18:29] A sequel, I will say the trailer made did make it look interesting.

[00:18:33] It looks like it's going to be a sequel.

[00:18:37] But if you watch the trailer, it's a carbon copy of the original.

[00:18:42] They're doing the exact same things.

[00:18:44] Oh, they're phantom menacing. Absolutely.

[00:18:47] Is that no, they're doing a Force Awakens, sir.

[00:18:50] Sorry. Yeah.

[00:18:51] Thank you for the way they're doing a Force Awakens.

[00:18:54] Absolutely. But.

[00:18:57] Out of that trilogy, that was the best one.

[00:19:01] So I'm just saying, I think Twisters is going to be kind of the same effect.

[00:19:05] It's going to be a fun movie.

[00:19:07] It's going to hit those nostalgic ties.

[00:19:11] And that honestly, that'll be that.

[00:19:13] But I would be definitely I'm definitely curious enough to go see it and it looks fun.

[00:19:19] Um.

[00:19:21] So we'll we'll see.

[00:19:24] But honestly, I think Warner Brothers needs to get back to being Warner Brothers.

[00:19:28] And honestly, like that woman, I would have gone to see

[00:19:32] honestly just to see how they did it because.

[00:19:36] I was very curious on.

[00:19:41] But we were going to get Brennan, we were going to get Brennan Frazier's firefly.

[00:19:44] Yeah. Brennan Frazier's take on it,

[00:19:45] because he had a very different kind of take on on his background

[00:19:49] of the character. So that would have been interesting to see.

[00:19:52] So let's move from one side of the the realm to the other.

[00:19:57] And the new Deadpool Wolverine trailer dropped.

[00:20:02] This week and they always hit the mark with the with the soundtrack.

[00:20:08] The overall song of her theme was just hilarious.

[00:20:13] And let me pull up the tweet from Ryan Reynolds because he put out

[00:20:18] he responded

[00:20:21] in response to that whole thing that.

[00:20:24] So this Twitter account called old school 80s put out April 22nd, 1989.

[00:20:30] Madonna's like a prayer began a six week run on top of the Billboard Album Chart

[00:20:37] as I 80s on the same day.

[00:20:39] The like a prayer single began a three a three week run on top of the Billboard Hot 100.

[00:20:46] The trailer dropped on April 22nd, 30 what 35 years later

[00:20:57] with like a prayer theme song.

[00:21:00] But so when you look at the Easter eggs and everything,

[00:21:04] the opening scene is Logan sitting in a bar

[00:21:08] and already some of the insomniacs are going, huh,

[00:21:12] that looks kind of familiar because what did we see in the Wolverine game trailer

[00:21:16] that's coming from insomniac was Wolverine sitting at a bar. Yeah.

[00:21:21] I mean, when hasn't Wolverine been sitting at a bar?

[00:21:25] And that's anything.

[00:21:26] Yeah, that's the other thing is like X-Men. He was always at a bar.

[00:21:30] Even what was it?

[00:21:33] First class, right, when Magneto and Professor X were trying to go recruit him.

[00:21:36] Originally, he's at the bar and he's like going for yourself.

[00:21:39] So they kind of recreated that.

[00:21:43] I mean, it's funny that was gone.

[00:21:44] It just smile, wait for the flash.

[00:21:47] Yeah.

[00:21:49] And then, of course, you know, we see Logan put his head to the gun,

[00:21:52] which is typical to happen before like he's taken the bullet to the head

[00:21:57] and nothing happened, right?

[00:22:00] So this was the great scene.

[00:22:02] You've got the old 20s box Century Fox. Yeah.

[00:22:06] Logo there.

[00:22:07] And that's part of it.

[00:22:09] It looks like that's part of the cover for Day After Tomorrow,

[00:22:13] like the frozen wasteland. Oh, yeah.

[00:22:16] Oh, OK.

[00:22:17] But yeah, it's all like 20th Century Fox is kind of just in the in the ditch,

[00:22:21] right? That's why.

[00:22:24] And then you've got you do actually get to see Logan in

[00:22:30] the actual suit that we've come to know and love.

[00:22:35] The yellow and blue, you know, all on suited.

[00:22:41] You've got

[00:22:43] later on,

[00:22:46] you've got him coming out without without the sleeves, which is great.

[00:22:54] Apparently, the copperheads and is part of related to the Marlville universe.

[00:22:59] It's a captain America villain.

[00:23:03] Oh, but.

[00:23:05] Anyways, so you've also we're getting Cassandra Nova as it looks like the villain.

[00:23:11] Yep. And she is.

[00:23:12] She is Xavier's twin.

[00:23:16] Oh, twins.

[00:23:18] Yeah, it's his twin sister.

[00:23:20] In the trailer, you see her coming out of the head of Ant-Man.

[00:23:26] Yeah.

[00:23:27] Like the whole mask opens up and there he is.

[00:23:31] So.

[00:23:33] It'll be his own law.

[00:23:34] Yeah, here's a giant man's head, right?

[00:23:38] And people are saying if you look at these people, right,

[00:23:41] they're villains from past X-Men movies.

[00:23:44] So there's you've got Lady Death Strike

[00:23:47] right there in the middle.

[00:23:48] You've got toad, you know, a couple of people over from her.

[00:23:53] This one is from one of the first class.

[00:23:56] Mentality is first class.

[00:23:57] Right.

[00:23:58] Azazel. Yeah, thank you.

[00:24:02] So in it, they're caught, you know, Lady Death Strike toad.

[00:24:05] Klyssa.

[00:24:08] Oh, yeah, and Klysta. Yeah.

[00:24:09] Yeah. That's from which is right there from, you know, last stand.

[00:24:12] All right. I wonder if it's going to be the same actors.

[00:24:15] That'll be interesting.

[00:24:17] So you've got Dog Pool.

[00:24:20] Right there.

[00:24:23] And then I can't wait to see that one portal.

[00:24:25] Yeah. Now, everyone's wondering, is this Dr. Strange?

[00:24:30] Is this I know, right?

[00:24:31] That's quite interesting.

[00:24:33] The 616 portal.

[00:24:36] Or is this you?

[00:24:38] Or is this Ned?

[00:24:42] From Spider-Man.

[00:24:43] Yeah.

[00:24:45] From Spider-Man that did this.

[00:24:47] I would love it if it was there.

[00:24:48] Oh, oh, that'd be funny.

[00:24:52] So for me, that's

[00:24:55] that's going to be interesting to see whether or not

[00:24:58] I really think it is.

[00:24:59] A lot of things. I don't know. I don't know.

[00:25:00] I didn't see it in that article, but I don't know if you guys caught it.

[00:25:03] They also in the trailer did the same flight choreography from

[00:25:10] Spider-Man one against Flash and Peter in front of the lockers.

[00:25:18] So I I'm sorry to go watch it.

[00:25:20] They do the exact same choreography of

[00:25:22] my nose and dodges is it looks good.

[00:25:26] Yeah.

[00:25:28] So I really hope the rumor of the like all of the

[00:25:34] different variants of Deadpool are in it.

[00:25:37] I hope that rumor is true because that would be hilarious.

[00:25:42] Well, I mean, there is a rumor that Blake Lively is going to be.

[00:25:46] Yeah, Lady Deadpool.

[00:25:49] Yeah, Lady Deadpool or possibly Gwen.

[00:25:51] No, not Gwenful.

[00:25:52] It would be it would be Deadpool, Lady Deadpool.

[00:25:54] Yeah.

[00:25:55] I don't know if like Lively can deliver the comedy.

[00:25:59] Oh, I think she could.

[00:26:00] She she she has her own kind of timing and weight.

[00:26:03] Like they had a good I mean, I think that's why they kind of

[00:26:07] you can tell their chemistry was the only like great thing in Green Lantern.

[00:26:13] Like there were poor.

[00:26:14] She wasn't funny in Green Lantern.

[00:26:16] No, yes, they had chemistry, but she wasn't funny.

[00:26:19] But but they're kind of rapport and they're like delivery back and forth.

[00:26:24] I think she's she could do it.

[00:26:26] I think possibly she could do it real quick, right?

[00:26:30] So to what we were kind of pointing out right here is the the casting on IMDb, right?

[00:26:35] Oh, my God.

[00:26:36] You got Matthew McFenless is Mr. Paradox, right?

[00:26:39] But you've got Jennifer Garner's Electra.

[00:26:41] Come back as Electra.

[00:26:43] She was a good electric.

[00:26:44] So great. She was.

[00:26:45] She was electric.

[00:26:46] Oh, I love. No, I love it that they're bringing back like

[00:26:49] more of those 90s.

[00:26:51] There's talk of great dude.

[00:26:52] There's talk of cable.

[00:26:53] But then that is who that's awesome.

[00:26:56] It is your eco.

[00:26:57] Ray Park is going back as a part as as toad.

[00:27:01] Oh, sweet Jason Fleming is a very good.

[00:27:04] Azale sweet.

[00:27:06] And you've got Sharon's Pirate to Aaron.

[00:27:09] Straight. Oh, sweet.

[00:27:11] Oh, cool.

[00:27:12] I like Tim is pirate.

[00:27:13] And then you have Louis Tan as Shatterstar, which we know Shatterstar.

[00:27:18] He reset it. That's right.

[00:27:19] He is for, you know, he's Mojo's.

[00:27:23] Shatterstar was the one that he was like the alien, right?

[00:27:26] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:27:28] But he's a little bit.

[00:27:29] He bleeds green.

[00:27:31] Yeah. OK.

[00:27:32] Yeah, he's the one that fell in the helicopter blades.

[00:27:37] OK. Yeah.

[00:27:41] This guy was Shatterstar.

[00:27:43] Now the question is which variant though, are they

[00:27:46] is it going to be the one from Deadpool or are we getting the Mojo guy?

[00:27:51] No, it's Deadpool.

[00:27:52] We're getting because remember, he used the time machine.

[00:27:55] So he reads everybody survived from X Force.

[00:27:58] Yeah.

[00:28:00] So that'll be interesting to see what happens there.

[00:28:03] But I just think it's great that we're we're getting all of this.

[00:28:07] And, you know, I think what's funny is the end of the trailer,

[00:28:12] they're talking about, you know, blind owls like you want to go do some coke.

[00:28:15] And he's like, dude, there's a list of the one.

[00:28:18] He gave us five seconds going up on all the different names.

[00:28:21] Five years like that's the top of the list.

[00:28:24] Like, yeah.

[00:28:24] And furthermore, Kevin Feih has come out and said

[00:28:28] that X-Men animated is potentially going to become Canon for the MCU.

[00:28:38] Oh, that should be interesting.

[00:28:40] Yeah.

[00:28:42] So that being said, Jason's like, come on, Jason's like, oh my God,

[00:28:47] it's Marvel starting again.

[00:28:49] What is in Canon with Marvel nowadays?

[00:28:51] What the hell is it?

[00:28:53] Tell me. But I mean, what was in Canon and Marvel for the comic books either?

[00:28:56] Like or in any like universe?

[00:29:00] Yeah. So quit your whining.

[00:29:03] But let's let's talk about Star Wars.

[00:29:05] Canon Star Trek is Canon.

[00:29:07] No, Star Wars Star Wars has a very definitive.

[00:29:11] They came out and said this stuff is Canon.

[00:29:13] This stuff is legacy.

[00:29:14] The legacy stuff doesn't count.

[00:29:18] I mean, but so isn't there still like bad batches?

[00:29:21] Canon, isn't it? Yep.

[00:29:24] Rebels is Canon.

[00:29:24] But that's because yeah, but that's because it was all part of the actual storyline.

[00:29:29] But it's still Canon.

[00:29:30] Yeah. So anyway, so let's look at X-Men.

[00:29:34] We didn't get to talk about it last week

[00:29:35] because certain individual hadn't watched the episode yet.

[00:29:38] So I'm glad I didn't that day, though, by the way.

[00:29:41] Slowly.

[00:29:42] OK, let's talk about it.

[00:29:44] You didn't come on the show crying.

[00:29:46] It's rough.

[00:29:46] I still haven't seen it.

[00:29:49] I'm so fine.

[00:29:49] But, Dale, you don't care if we're talking about it.

[00:29:52] I'm not good. I'm good.

[00:29:54] I'll probably either forget or I'll still experience it.

[00:29:57] You're joking anyways.

[00:29:58] Major spoilers.

[00:30:00] Yeah, go for it.

[00:30:01] And can we just talk about the devastation that was for Genosha?

[00:30:06] Holy fuck.

[00:30:08] Like Genosha, please explain.

[00:30:11] OK, so the Genosha is the island country

[00:30:16] that Magneto created for mutants to go live in.

[00:30:20] Oh, I was afraid that was like some sort of ship name

[00:30:24] or some mutants.

[00:30:26] I was like, was there?

[00:30:28] Please don't do that to me.

[00:30:30] And for this episode, they were actually going to be joining the actual UN.

[00:30:34] They were going to be recognized as an actual official country.

[00:30:39] During the episode, you kind of see rogue and Magneto

[00:30:43] rekindling their romance to a way.

[00:30:46] But then rogue realizes that, you know what?

[00:30:50] Our heart belongs with with Gambit.

[00:30:55] Then all of a sudden you hear the ace of bass song, happy nation playing.

[00:31:01] And I'm like, what the hell?

[00:31:03] Cable shows up and says, stop playing the music.

[00:31:06] And then you get the basically master mode 2.0 show up and just lay waste.

[00:31:13] Yeah.

[00:31:14] And as far as we know in the episode, Magneto and Gambit died.

[00:31:22] Oh, damn.

[00:31:23] All went out like bosses, though.

[00:31:25] And they went out like Magneto and the scenes alone are like,

[00:31:30] you know, definitely worth to see because it's it's epic, dude.

[00:31:33] And I think what surprised me most about the writing for Magneto

[00:31:36] and I absolutely love it is the fact is that he wanted to make sure

[00:31:40] the Morlocks were protected and saved.

[00:31:43] And he sent Gambit to do it.

[00:31:45] And as much as Gambit probably wanted to lay waste to the Morlocks

[00:31:49] because of what occurred back, you know, in the original animated show

[00:31:53] when they pretty much imprisoned the X-Men and Storm had to fight Kalisto

[00:31:59] for control of the Morlocks.

[00:32:02] Gambit shows up and protects them all gets them out, gets them to safety.

[00:32:08] And then, you know, he Magneto basically had to switch up a barrier

[00:32:14] to protect, you know, some of the Morlocks from mass, you know,

[00:32:18] the Super Sentinel destroying them.

[00:32:21] And then Gambit goes out like a boss and we've never seen him energize

[00:32:26] an entire fucking object like that in New Kid.

[00:32:30] But that ripped my heart out.

[00:32:33] Like Gambit remember, like now.

[00:32:37] Yeah.

[00:32:38] Bro, I was talking.

[00:32:39] I was talking to Ray about this.

[00:32:41] Yeah.

[00:32:42] Is I know Mr.

[00:32:44] Sinister is the big bad, but could we potentially be seeing this?

[00:32:48] The rebirth of apocalypse?

[00:32:52] I'm I'm also kind of getting that.

[00:32:54] I'm getting that a little bit.

[00:32:56] Oh, well, that's the thing.

[00:32:57] So that's still a possibility.

[00:33:01] But remember, you did mention cable.

[00:33:05] So I am hoping that there's maybe some sort of.

[00:33:10] Workaround that he figures out a way to go back faster, you know, farther.

[00:33:13] Something like that, hopefully.

[00:33:15] And that saves Magneto and Gambit at some point.

[00:33:17] But here's the here's the problem with that, though.

[00:33:21] So first and foremost, Jason, what did you think of five?

[00:33:25] You'd five.

[00:33:27] You know, it had a lot of it was a good episode.

[00:33:33] OK, we're talking.

[00:33:34] Make a grown man cry.

[00:33:36] Kind of, yeah.

[00:33:37] Yeah, we had those.

[00:33:39] We were talking about it.

[00:33:41] Why we're liking 97 so much is because of the tempo of the show.

[00:33:45] Like the tempo of the show is just amazing.

[00:33:48] You know, you start off with, you know, the whole Genosha thing.

[00:33:54] Here and there, you're splitting off to see Storm again.

[00:33:57] You know, like everyone's everyone's having their own little story lines.

[00:34:01] You have a whole, you know, the gene and Madeline.

[00:34:07] You have the whole Scott and Jean's like all the all the story lines.

[00:34:12] There are there, they're showing each X-Men individually.

[00:34:19] You know, like they're doing a great job, you know, Rogue.

[00:34:22] Her story line was Magneto, Magneto being the leader of X-Men now.

[00:34:26] Oh, so good.

[00:34:27] So I mean, like the tempo right now is on point.

[00:34:30] The whole episode of five, though, was just literally this.

[00:34:35] It was literally the start of the roller coaster.

[00:34:38] You know, you're going up, up, up.

[00:34:41] You're feeling good.

[00:34:41] You're like, oh, man, yeah, it's good.

[00:34:44] And all of a sudden, bam, cable shows up and like, yo, what?

[00:34:47] Like no, we just stop it.

[00:34:49] Stop it.

[00:34:50] And it's like, oh, hey.

[00:34:52] And then as soon as I'm sorry, mom rolls out.

[00:34:55] Oh my God.

[00:34:56] And even my wife was like, wait, that's that's Nathan.

[00:35:00] And I said, yeah, that's that's that's when you eat like that's the moment

[00:35:04] you knew like, oh no, what's going to happen?

[00:35:06] Yeah, that's that's their son right there.

[00:35:08] Yeah. What the heck?

[00:35:10] And I loved how they they did the whole because it's it's Madeline prior,

[00:35:14] right, and he acknowledges her as mom.

[00:35:16] Yeah, you know, and that was fantastic.

[00:35:20] It's not Jean, right?

[00:35:22] But he knows it's Madeline.

[00:35:24] He knows it's not Jean, right?

[00:35:25] So as soon as.

[00:35:29] Everything just starts going down, you know, like, yeah,

[00:35:32] you start seeing all the mutants that are just like getting picked off

[00:35:36] left and right, left and right.

[00:35:37] You know, you as you're saying earlier, you know, you have Magneto protecting

[00:35:41] the Morlocks because they are the ones that it's like his quote unquote

[00:35:47] children of X men, you know, his his his X men team, you know, kind of thing.

[00:35:52] His yeah.

[00:35:53] You know, like in in in comparison.

[00:35:57] So he he's really fond with the Morlocks.

[00:36:01] And then as soon as you see Gambit and Rogue just going off,

[00:36:06] like, yeah, see the chemistry and we get to see the chemistry even more.

[00:36:11] Like you understand, like throughout this whole episode,

[00:36:15] they've been playing this little like this little cat and mouse game

[00:36:20] of emotions and just to have it all like dump.

[00:36:26] Literally the last two seconds of the show.

[00:36:30] The fade to black.

[00:36:32] Oh, my God, that last line just.

[00:36:35] Oh, my God, I I was like, you know, like, I needed I needed some

[00:36:39] like serious eye bleach right there.

[00:36:42] Like it was rough and yeah, what's what's rougher, but also the same time,

[00:36:47] like in episode five, we got Kurt back.

[00:36:49] We got Nightcrawler.

[00:36:51] Yeah. And I was about to mention that, too.

[00:36:54] Like that was a bright like part of the episode, too.

[00:36:57] He was like, oh, man, Kurt like.

[00:37:00] And he was doing Nightcrawler, his nightcrawler

[00:37:03] asked saving people and getting in and out.

[00:37:05] And then we get last week's episode, episode six.

[00:37:11] And this is what hurts more for me because we all know I love Gambit.

[00:37:16] Gambit is my absolute favorite X-Men.

[00:37:19] He's one of my favorite comic book characters,

[00:37:21] aside from Silver Surfer and Batman.

[00:37:24] Gambit and Magneto were replaced in the opening credits by Nightcrawler

[00:37:32] and Professor X Ouch.

[00:37:35] Yeah.

[00:37:38] And it hurt like not seeing Gambit as part of those opening credits hurt a lot.

[00:37:42] Like it switched up a lot.

[00:37:44] That's right.

[00:37:45] But but that's kind of I think that also adds to the

[00:37:50] like you said, the momentum and the

[00:37:54] you know, the story, the story of the show is because they update

[00:37:57] the lineups in the opening credits.

[00:38:00] That's, you know, the next week,

[00:38:04] you're feeling it again.

[00:38:05] And none of us are like, oh, that sucks.

[00:38:07] Can we can we see this?

[00:38:08] But I that's why I'm loving the show, too,

[00:38:12] because they're really putting that much thought into it.

[00:38:15] And us as the kids, we are are completely missing the foreshadowing.

[00:38:20] They're putting in those credits because Episode Six was all about

[00:38:24] how Professor X is still fucking alive.

[00:38:27] Yeah. Yeah.

[00:38:28] All time he's been hanging out with Leandra or Leara rather,

[00:38:31] you know, and dealing with the the scrolls and the Kree

[00:38:35] and all of that.

[00:38:36] We got to see Ronan.

[00:38:37] Well, in the final episode of the original series, she Leara did say

[00:38:44] we can we can revive him.

[00:38:46] He will regain consciousness again, but it's going to take time.

[00:38:51] I don't think he's been dead.

[00:38:53] I think he just left.

[00:38:55] No, I don't think he died.

[00:38:57] I think he was in a coma.

[00:38:59] Like that was from the original series.

[00:39:01] Like he was in a coma and but they called Leara to take her

[00:39:05] because she was the only one that that could help wake him.

[00:39:09] You. But anyway, so in the episode, right, we have Deathbird

[00:39:13] who is Leara's sister, basically do the challenge that, hey,

[00:39:16] he's got to wipe his memory if he wants to be the king, you know,

[00:39:19] the emperor.

[00:39:20] And that was the best the best moment where he's taking everybody

[00:39:25] to class. He's like, fuck all of you.

[00:39:27] I'm just hit your ass.

[00:39:27] Yeah.

[00:39:28] Quit your bitching.

[00:39:29] And then he realizes just how much devastation is back on earth.

[00:39:34] And he's like, I need to be with my X men.

[00:39:37] Go fuck yourselves.

[00:39:40] And that ended up itself.

[00:39:43] It was like.

[00:39:45] Professor X has been up, you know, with Leara all this time

[00:39:48] and he could have been back helping, right?

[00:39:53] Well, that also makes the question how long how long did it

[00:39:56] take for her to revive him and how long has he been awake?

[00:40:00] And yeah.

[00:40:01] And and further, like we'll get back to the cable thing.

[00:40:04] But then we also see Storm.

[00:40:06] Going basically like a spirit walk almost.

[00:40:11] And get her powers back.

[00:40:14] That was pretty awesome.

[00:40:15] How they and the black, the black suit, the touch that we got

[00:40:18] was the classic comic book Black Look.

[00:40:20] Which is pretty amazing.

[00:40:23] The fact that that like they made that like kind of

[00:40:27] I kind of can it because you don't you first in the comics

[00:40:31] it depends on the new run.

[00:40:33] They get new looks.

[00:40:33] But like the way they integrated it that way, that's correct.

[00:40:38] Was just fantastic.

[00:40:39] It was just like a nice little light.

[00:40:40] That was a sweet like heightened Easter.

[00:40:43] And and then she you know when then she you know, she sees

[00:40:46] the devastation in Genosa, I do.

[00:40:49] She's going to go off.

[00:40:50] Like I think this is like I can't wait for tomorrow's episode

[00:40:54] because like even the teaser clip has Ro going solo

[00:41:00] and going off on a military base.

[00:41:02] Like she's like yeah.

[00:41:04] And that's the other thing we forgot.

[00:41:05] Imagine how pissed she is now like.

[00:41:09] Can you imagine like you just basically turn the X men

[00:41:12] into protectors of humanity into now?

[00:41:17] You just pissed them off and now they're going to go

[00:41:20] they're going straight for the people responsible.

[00:41:22] And we know that from the last episode, Mr.

[00:41:27] Sinners was involved.

[00:41:28] We know Trask was involved with this whole all this crap

[00:41:31] and and whatnot.

[00:41:33] I do like we're getting sinister as a villain.

[00:41:35] Like we're actually getting to see sinister be Mr.

[00:41:37] Sinister like yeah, that's the other thing.

[00:41:40] We're I think we're going to see him way more involved

[00:41:43] and like because like you saw him.

[00:41:45] He had kind of like a I remember from the original series

[00:41:49] like it was a three parter or four parter.

[00:41:51] Yeah, it wasn't that much when he kidnapped Jean Gray

[00:41:54] and because you really like he kind of just appeared.

[00:41:57] They kidnapped him and like you didn't really get to know

[00:42:01] how how how sick this dude really is like compared to the comics

[00:42:06] because like and I think they're going to they're going to show

[00:42:09] like an essence of that in the cartoon.

[00:42:12] But he is the puppet master.

[00:42:14] Yeah, we're going to get more into his character,

[00:42:17] which that's going to be fun.

[00:42:19] That's going to be interesting to see.

[00:42:22] And I character.

[00:42:24] He's a good villain.

[00:42:25] And I'm interesting to see how

[00:42:28] Abel is going to end up playing a role in this like.

[00:42:30] And this is this is the big question I have is if Cable does play a role

[00:42:33] in the flash like him going back further in time,

[00:42:37] if he figures out a way to prevent the deaths of Magneto and Gambit,

[00:42:42] what deaths replace those?

[00:42:45] And does Xavier ever come back?

[00:42:47] That very good. Yes.

[00:42:49] Good question. Also.

[00:42:53] Hmm. Also.

[00:42:56] Oh no. No, actually you touched that.

[00:42:57] You touched those points.

[00:42:59] You just. Yeah, I mean,

[00:43:00] throws for a second.

[00:43:02] It's like Biff and the DeLorean, right?

[00:43:03] He goes back in time with the the sports all.

[00:43:06] Oh, that's what I was going to say.

[00:43:08] That that just that just adds more to the strength of their their writing

[00:43:12] because the whole cable thing that that's still a monkey wrench that

[00:43:16] no matter what you're going to want to see in each episode.

[00:43:21] Is that to get answered?

[00:43:22] Or do we have to wait till like close to the end of the series

[00:43:26] to see how that answer or how that goes?

[00:43:30] And yeah, if they figure out a way to fully come back,

[00:43:32] do we get do we get Bishop back because Bishop isn't in the

[00:43:36] you know, the opening credits anymore.

[00:43:38] But no.

[00:43:41] Jason. Your thoughts on six.

[00:43:46] So.

[00:43:48] I think for me, I all of the.

[00:43:52] The Professor X.

[00:43:56] Like alive walking, you know.

[00:44:03] I think it does open the realm of bringing like the scrolls in

[00:44:10] for sure, because one of the one of the.

[00:44:15] One of the scenes,

[00:44:17] well, they when they pan out to like the rest of the universe

[00:44:20] or the rest of the outer space, like you see.

[00:44:23] Like it looked like a scroll in the background,

[00:44:27] like a little shadow of it.

[00:44:30] I don't know if it was or not, you know, like, but.

[00:44:34] It does bring out more into this intergalactic,

[00:44:37] you know, can Earth be part of like the outer space stuff?

[00:44:45] And if so, then it does.

[00:44:48] Does.

[00:44:50] Open up possibilities for different.

[00:44:55] And I know you guys know where I'm going to go with this,

[00:44:57] but it's going to open up another.

[00:45:02] Another spin off of Marvel universe lore,

[00:45:07] that's going to be like X-Men 97 and a half, you know,

[00:45:10] it's going to be just more.

[00:45:14] In depth where they can branch off

[00:45:16] and then tie it back together.

[00:45:19] That's what I'm thinking.

[00:45:20] It's just kind of opening it up.

[00:45:21] He's going to go back for sure.

[00:45:24] And everyone's going to be like, oh my God,

[00:45:25] Professor is still alive.

[00:45:28] You know, everybody is just still going to be

[00:45:31] it might bring back Jean as the Phoenix, you know,

[00:45:34] like who knows?

[00:45:36] Like it can branch out in a million different ways.

[00:45:39] But I just think that.

[00:45:42] Yeah, they are going to hopefully I don't.

[00:45:45] I think they are like in the back of my mind,

[00:45:48] I think they are going to revive.

[00:45:51] Gambit and Magneto somehow some way or Magneto gets

[00:45:55] it's like Magneto is at the point of like the brink of death

[00:46:00] and he's OK, he survives, but Gambit,

[00:46:03] he's going to get like he's going to get morphed

[00:46:06] where he's going to like somehow survive this again.

[00:46:09] And I hope not like only because that.

[00:46:14] That hardship alone.

[00:46:17] Give so much depth to character for Rogue for the entire X-Men.

[00:46:23] Like and I always have these conversations with some of my co-workers

[00:46:27] because they watch some anime too and stuff like that.

[00:46:29] I'm like, dude.

[00:46:31] And one of them wants me to watch one piece and I said no way.

[00:46:35] And he's like why?

[00:46:36] And I told him one.

[00:46:38] It's like it's like six thousand episodes deep.

[00:46:42] Mm hmm.

[00:46:43] But two, I told him was like how many of the main characters in the like

[00:46:48] in the entire like through how many have died?

[00:46:53] He's like none.

[00:46:54] And I was like, yeah, so it takes twelve hundred episodes

[00:46:57] for them to stay alive and experience no hardship of a main character.

[00:47:02] Like so let's put this let me put this out there.

[00:47:05] There's lots of hardships we had as hardships.

[00:47:08] Yes, hardships.

[00:47:09] Yes, but I'm not the loss of a character.

[00:47:11] I understand where you're coming from though.

[00:47:13] You need a loss of a character.

[00:47:14] So then people the characters grow so much more and you feel it so much

[00:47:20] harder because let's take for like and I'm only going to use it

[00:47:24] because it's like I've watched all of it.

[00:47:28] I know it, you know, like Naruto.

[00:47:30] We have main characters.

[00:47:32] No, not main characters, but I mean like major characters,

[00:47:35] major characters have died, you know, first season.

[00:47:39] It was it was literally the third third Hokage.

[00:47:43] You see him die and it starts like one of the arcs.

[00:47:48] You know, you see multiple characters die.

[00:47:50] You see more and more characters.

[00:47:53] I don't want to give too much.

[00:47:54] I mean, it's been a while.

[00:47:56] So I mean, you see, you see like you're not under any spoilers

[00:47:59] at this point for now.

[00:48:00] Yeah, yeah.

[00:48:01] You see, you see, I agree with your point because it's the same.

[00:48:04] It's kind of the same thing with walking dead.

[00:48:07] Yeah, walking dead.

[00:48:08] You know, when Glenn died.

[00:48:10] Oh my God, everyone was like always all the people that read it.

[00:48:14] Oh, we saw it coming.

[00:48:15] All the ones that didn't was like, what's how to do?

[00:48:19] Yeah, why do you know?

[00:48:21] And in the way they did it too, it was brutal.

[00:48:23] Like once once they did that, how much more was all the characters

[00:48:29] in there so much more valuable and it's like like you could feel.

[00:48:34] No, I think that same way was with the original X-Men, right?

[00:48:37] Is when Morph, we all thought he originally died.

[00:48:41] Right?

[00:48:41] In the beginning of X-Men, you saw a huge character jump for Wolverine

[00:48:45] because he was like that was his that was his wingman pull back.

[00:48:49] And you know, and and then it's like, pull back.

[00:48:53] We know that, you know, Morph comes back later on and whatnot.

[00:48:59] I do hope that if they do

[00:49:03] manage to bring back Magneto and Gambit in some way

[00:49:07] that it is respectful in a way to everything that Rogue is going through.

[00:49:15] Like that they just don't show up and go, hi, hey, you know, I'm back.

[00:49:19] I'm alive. I hope everything's good.

[00:49:20] And they just move on like I hope they respected enough to address it

[00:49:25] that this is, you know, what the hell?

[00:49:28] Like how how did you survive?

[00:49:33] But I'm more of a man.

[00:49:34] You can't be being that Gambit, though, basically supernova the sentinel.

[00:49:41] I don't see how he survived that.

[00:49:43] Yeah, that was basically like an atom bomb going off.

[00:49:45] I mean, like you have Rogue take her take her glove off

[00:49:49] and then she says, yeah, I can't feel him. Oh my God.

[00:49:55] That's that's the other thing, man.

[00:49:56] Like you can't sell those scenes were so powerful.

[00:49:59] You can't sell me them even in the last moments

[00:50:02] that Magneto said to the to the more locks when when he knew

[00:50:06] like the force field was going to break.

[00:50:08] But like you can't sell you those scenes.

[00:50:11] They were too powerful.

[00:50:12] They meant a lot to us.

[00:50:14] So it meant even more if they do alter

[00:50:17] like the timeline or do something that I better it better be strong.

[00:50:22] It convinced. Yes, like I said,

[00:50:23] it meant that much more because that line was said maybe five minutes ago

[00:50:30] like it was fresh like right before everything happened in general.

[00:50:35] So like it was so fresh.

[00:50:37] You felt it. You. Yeah, as soon as she said it, oh, I was like, no,

[00:50:42] I even screamed.

[00:50:43] I was like, this cannot be the episode.

[00:50:45] You guys you guys saw me text it.

[00:50:48] I was like, yeah, this is no, no, like I was done done.

[00:50:56] Over. Yeah.

[00:50:57] That is the it's kind of the same thing as in regards to like should R.

[00:51:02] D. J. Come back as Iron Man, like the way he went out,

[00:51:05] the way he ended the character for me, don't.

[00:51:09] And ladies and gentlemen, I do want to quote Jason's text to the group.

[00:51:13] It was in capital letters.

[00:51:15] He he capital is screaming in pain with this line.

[00:51:19] WTF no, with a bunch of O's on that ending line.

[00:51:24] WTF like that's how we all felt.

[00:51:27] Like and that.

[00:51:30] And that's the funny things like so many there's I see so many tech talks

[00:51:33] about all these going, well, why are they going to make this?

[00:51:35] You know, you know, because now all these kids are in their thirties

[00:51:38] and forties, you know, that understood the show.

[00:51:39] It's like why did nobody want it?

[00:51:42] It's like, oh, yeah, we've wanted X men back for a very long time.

[00:51:46] And they are doing justice by the fans.

[00:51:51] Of the original animated show by doing this.

[00:51:54] Oh, every episode incredibly strong.

[00:51:57] That's been great.

[00:51:58] And it's it's still hard.

[00:52:00] Like I still to Jason's point right that line.

[00:52:03] I can't feel him.

[00:52:06] Fuck like the nor is the way she voice acted that was just

[00:52:11] like her and AJ deserve, you know, nominations for their performances

[00:52:17] for that episode alone, right?

[00:52:19] And I still.

[00:52:24] Gambit's gone like to say gambit is gone is hard.

[00:52:29] It's it's hard.

[00:52:31] Like I I I hope that whatever vengeance rogue is about to

[00:52:39] wield in the next episode, I hope it's something she can come back from

[00:52:45] because rogue as some people do not know,

[00:52:51] she was initially part of what became the brotherhood of mutants.

[00:52:56] Because how she became how she got the power of flight and super

[00:53:01] and essentially super strength is because she was hanging out with

[00:53:05] mystique and a couple others.

[00:53:07] And she held on to.

[00:53:10] Miss Marvel at the time, Carol Danvers, as we all know, as Captain Marvel

[00:53:16] from the movies, she held on too long.

[00:53:20] And put Carol into a coma and sapped her actual power of flight and strength.

[00:53:25] So she does have a pseudo kind of dark side that's that's there.

[00:53:30] And she has a past.

[00:53:32] I hope if if she goes if she goes there, you know, with what they're showing

[00:53:37] that she can come back from this.

[00:53:39] Because if not, that's a whole nother problem.

[00:53:41] That's almost like dealing with Jean Grey as Dark Phoenix.

[00:53:43] Yeah.

[00:53:45] You know, so easily the one of the greatest sagas.

[00:53:49] So to Eric and Julia Leawald, you guys catching this?

[00:53:53] You guys catching this?

[00:53:55] One, we love you too.

[00:53:57] Welcome back on, but three.

[00:53:59] Holy fuck, guys.

[00:54:01] Jesus, like what you're what you're giving us.

[00:54:05] It's amazing and it's heart wrenching at the same time.

[00:54:09] Yeah.

[00:54:10] And at the same time, I want to say, like we love and hate you for it.

[00:54:13] It's your kid.

[00:54:15] You know, but it's we have a lot of love in the world.

[00:54:18] You know, it's just.

[00:54:20] It's amazing.

[00:54:21] Yeah, we have a bowl of cereal when we watch them and we're just like,

[00:54:24] you know,

[00:54:27] excited cartoons, bowl of cereal, like it's this.

[00:54:31] I think the only thing they could have Disney could have done better

[00:54:33] with this is release it on a Saturday morning.

[00:54:36] That's the only thing they could have released it on a Saturday morning.

[00:54:41] So last but least, guys, I we know E3 is dead.

[00:54:44] They ain't coming back.

[00:54:46] IGN is going to try and their hand at it.

[00:54:49] IGN live finally got some details.

[00:54:51] You know, we talked about this about two months ago.

[00:54:54] It's going to be a three day event June 7th through the 9th

[00:54:58] at the Magic Box at the Reef in L.A.

[00:55:03] According to this, they are going to have exclusive reveals, new trailers,

[00:55:07] celebrity panels, live episodes of shows, demos,

[00:55:11] photo ops, exclusive merch, screenings, lounges, food trucks,

[00:55:15] live music, special guests and more.

[00:55:19] They've got special and VIP passes.

[00:55:23] They're saying VIP passes are going to include

[00:55:27] a gift bag worth $50.

[00:55:30] Prior to access, reserve screening room, seating and more.

[00:55:34] The show is going to be it's that Friday, Saturday, Sunday,

[00:55:36] 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day.

[00:55:41] And if you're looking at prices,

[00:55:44] it's twenty five dollars for each day if you just go on a single day

[00:55:47] or it's $60 for the three day pass, which is really good.

[00:55:52] That's fair convention.

[00:55:53] Yeah, for a convention.

[00:55:58] So it'll be it'll be interesting

[00:56:05] with everything because we don't know fully who's going to be there.

[00:56:07] We do know Square Enix is one of the vendors that are going to be there.

[00:56:12] Oh, nice.

[00:56:14] So who else really shows up from the big

[00:56:17] the big companies will see, you know,

[00:56:22] this did have when I looked at it earlier,

[00:56:24] it did have a list of every like a lot of the confirmed studios.

[00:56:32] Now it's yeah, so it's not even out there.

[00:56:36] If for some reason, he decides to show up there as a good sign.

[00:56:43] I don't think you'll have a show up because they have only they will.

[00:56:47] But if they do, it's a good side.

[00:56:49] Yeah, that would be interesting.

[00:56:54] That'd be cool.

[00:56:55] I mean, they were the first to pull out of the three.

[00:56:58] You know, these are the big ones.

[00:57:01] Yeah, they were.

[00:57:03] So here's my my only thing with caution as

[00:57:07] as much as I want this to succeed, right?

[00:57:09] Because I think we need another actual like gaming convention

[00:57:12] outside of just packs, right?

[00:57:14] Here in the States, so I wanted to succeed.

[00:57:16] But I'm also like there was the list that was on there of the studios

[00:57:21] that were going to be there.

[00:57:22] And now it's not on the website.

[00:57:24] So I'm cautious, like hopefully nobody pulled out already, right?

[00:57:30] That they this was announced and what not.

[00:57:35] And that's the thing.

[00:57:36] It is the first year, you know, it's first iteration.

[00:57:40] It's got to grow, you know.

[00:57:43] You know, let's see what it does.

[00:57:45] And hopefully, hopefully, you know, got potential to grow and,

[00:57:49] you know, turn into something because yeah, we need more.

[00:57:54] Yeah, definitely.

[00:57:55] So they are going to allow cosplay.

[00:57:58] Oh, sick. OK, cool.

[00:58:00] But there's there are strict.

[00:58:04] Guidelines around what those guidelines are.

[00:58:08] Yeah.

[00:58:10] They're not going to allow selfie sticks or go propoles,

[00:58:14] you know, so you can still videotape there, but you just can't

[00:58:18] use those like selfie sticks and all that.

[00:58:20] And I think that's more of a safety thing.

[00:58:22] I mean, we know how.

[00:58:23] It's a great thing because I mean, if you run into somebody's

[00:58:25] hand like this, I mean, you're kind of.

[00:58:29] Just a jerk.

[00:58:30] Yeah, but sometimes you see those people's setups where it's

[00:58:32] like on the setup in their backpack and their polls are like super extended.

[00:58:37] Like I'm sure they run into demos or signs or posters or something like that.

[00:58:42] So I get that whatever.

[00:58:44] You know, cool.

[00:58:47] Yeah, hopefully it's going to be fun.

[00:58:50] Hopefully the yeah, I can.

[00:58:51] Here I found it on another article.

[00:58:54] Let me grab the list here.

[00:58:55] So basically the live partners of the first round that they've

[00:58:58] announced are going to be Amazon Games, Atari, Bandai Namco,

[00:59:03] Crunchyroll, Giant Skull, Indie.io, Lenovo, Legion, Netflix,

[00:59:08] Null Games, Square Enix and Tripwire Interactive.

[00:59:16] So no.

[00:59:16] OK, it's OK.

[00:59:17] No big names.

[00:59:19] Well, I mean, what's your name, sir?

[00:59:20] Square. Yeah.

[00:59:22] Got. Got.

[00:59:24] And some some pretty some pretty known indies like independence.

[00:59:29] You look like that's like that's OK.

[00:59:31] I want them to succeed, though.

[00:59:33] I absolutely want them to succeed because, you know,

[00:59:36] everybody's everybody wants another fan event that they can go to,

[00:59:41] you know, and $60 is cheap.

[00:59:44] $60 is affordable.

[00:59:46] Twenty bucks a day.

[00:59:48] It really is affordable.

[00:59:49] Is it worth flying in for, though?

[00:59:52] That's that's the big question.

[00:59:53] That's the thing.

[00:59:54] That's why I think that's why I think to wait and see what the first thing

[00:59:59] offers and then if it if it truly looks like

[01:00:03] you know, it looks like it might grow next year, you know, you know,

[01:00:07] that's the thing.

[01:00:08] It's going to take time for it to grow kind of like that.

[01:00:11] So hopefully they have a decent strong first year.

[01:00:14] That's why like that lineup.

[01:00:16] Yeah, that's why the price is so small.

[01:00:18] Yeah, that's I agree.

[01:00:19] It's it's intro prices.

[01:00:20] It's going to go up as soon as it gains popularity.

[01:00:23] Yeah, exactly.

[01:00:24] Like the moment like if if EA or like you said any of the bigger names go up,

[01:00:30] I would expect to take it to go up too.

[01:00:32] I think so.

[01:00:33] So hopefully, you know, it looks like it's it's a strong year.

[01:00:37] I think those are the ones that are confirmed and public about it.

[01:00:42] I feel like there's going to be a lot of like

[01:00:45] silent, silent ones that just pop up.

[01:00:50] But they're going to need something in at least the next few weeks,

[01:00:54] because otherwise that's just too late too late of the last minute

[01:00:57] to get people to come out of state to it for promotion.

[01:01:01] Yeah, that's why.

[01:01:02] So at this point, though, I think releasing this kind of information,

[01:01:05] though, we're now April 23rd.

[01:01:08] It's six weeks.

[01:01:10] We're we're less than two months away.

[01:01:13] Like that's that doesn't leave a lot of time to book airfare,

[01:01:16] hotels, transportation, but you know, and all those things through hotels.

[01:01:21] You ain't getting nothing at this point.

[01:01:22] Yeah. I mean, they also don't want it to turn into an E3 where like

[01:01:26] thousands of people just raid the place, you know, like if you keep

[01:01:32] it small and you can grow bigger, it's that's a lot easier

[01:01:36] rather than be like, OK, here's here's like 50,000 people coming through.

[01:01:43] And then it was like just kidding guys, like, you know, fire fast, you know, array.

[01:01:52] So so I mean, hopefully they just don't they're not planning.

[01:01:57] I think they're doing is they're undershooting and they're under

[01:02:00] planning it or it's like, OK, there's just like let's see what your one is.

[01:02:03] This is an experiment, right?

[01:02:04] Let's do it smaller in the hopes that it.

[01:02:09] It blows away our expectations.

[01:02:10] So so I have a question for the team is what is your hopes for it?

[01:02:17] Do you want it to end up being truly like another con where it's like

[01:02:23] it's a bunch of pretty much public releases for teasers

[01:02:30] and chances to buy merchandise or more of a trade show where it's more of

[01:02:39] just kind of the true insights behind stuff

[01:02:44] or something different?

[01:02:46] I honestly, as much as I want an E3 trade show ask, right?

[01:02:52] Honestly, they're they're starting off with it being public.

[01:02:55] You're never going to be able to go back like it is.

[01:02:58] It's now public like it's kind of basically what E3 ended up being towards the end,

[01:03:03] right? Or was mostly you know, you had so much of the public there.

[01:03:06] I think honestly, I just wanted to be successful that it.

[01:03:12] It's all go Comic Con ask Comic Con ask, you know, it gives you another

[01:03:17] another like a Pax, right?

[01:03:19] You've got because you've got Pax up in Seattle, you've got Pax East.

[01:03:23] You know, and it just gives, you know, another kind of like event in the summer,

[01:03:30] right? When more people can kind of attend it because you can.

[01:03:33] It's easier for a fan, you know, for especially with me, like having kids,

[01:03:37] you know, they're in school.

[01:03:38] It's harder to schedule time off for that stuff.

[01:03:43] But it'll be interesting though, because we've got Summer Game Fest.

[01:03:48] Jeff Keely hasn't really, you know, we don't really have an announcement on when

[01:03:53] that's going to take place and what he's going to do because he's also had

[01:03:57] ambitions of having any three replacement.

[01:03:59] Yeah.

[01:04:00] And Summer Game Fest becoming that.

[01:04:02] So I wanted to be successful enough that IGN Live will do it again.

[01:04:06] You know, they'll do it again, right?

[01:04:08] To give everyone a chance because we know Summer Game Fest is a lot harder

[01:04:11] to get into, you know, from a media and in that perspective.

[01:04:16] So that way, I hope it gives video game fans a chance to go to an event like this

[01:04:22] where they get to see new stuff that they couldn't have attended E3 before

[01:04:27] because of tickets or whatever or funding because it wasn't cheap to get

[01:04:30] those normal tickets, right?

[01:04:34] I mean, we paid for it last year.

[01:04:37] But you know, so we'll see how it goes.

[01:04:43] Best of luck to IGN.

[01:04:45] I hope it succeeds in that it doesn't end up becoming a bomb, right?

[01:04:49] For them.

[01:04:50] Yeah, we're rooting for you.

[01:04:51] Please. I am.

[01:04:52] I really am.

[01:04:53] You know, it's just I think the one thing that our listeners have to understand

[01:04:57] guys is we've been going to E3 as a unit, right?

[01:05:02] Since 2014.

[01:05:03] We've seen we've seen E3 at its height and we've seen it what happens

[01:05:08] on the decline and what it was at the very end.

[01:05:11] And so any time these new shows are coming up and promising these things,

[01:05:16] we're a little skeptical because of E3.

[01:05:19] E3 shaded us.

[01:05:20] Let's let's be honest, right?

[01:05:22] And and whatnot.

[01:05:24] So I do I do hope though that I want to hear, you know, hopefully,

[01:05:30] you know, we get some people leaving some comments on what their thoughts

[01:05:33] are on the latest episodes of X-Men, but what their thoughts

[01:05:35] on hopes for IGN live are right because E3 has made, you know,

[01:05:40] has been important to so many people from a memories perspective

[01:05:44] and connections perspective.

[01:05:47] How we know the story for us, right?

[01:05:49] And what E3 is meant to this podcast.

[01:05:51] So definitely leave your comments

[01:05:54] its first time catching the show.

[01:05:56] Thank you for taking time out of your night and crashing game night with us.

[01:05:59] Hopefully we gave you some, you know, distractions from everyday life,

[01:06:03] even though we kind of talked about some very heavy X-Men episodes.

[01:06:07] You know, but.

[01:06:09] If you like show drops follow here head on up crashing game night.com

[01:06:12] drops follow on the podcast platform of your choice.

[01:06:17] And just really guys just with everything that's going on in life

[01:06:21] in general, just, you know, especially for Lakers Nation,

[01:06:25] just be excellent to each other.

[01:06:29] That's right everybody.

[01:06:30] Once again, we want to promote the same same message out there.

[01:06:35] And, you know, maybe give a pat on the back and a little,

[01:06:39] little like, hey, hang in there to the Laker, the Laker team.

[01:06:43] You try again.

[01:06:44] You try again.

[01:06:45] You know, give me a little good game.

[01:06:47] But yeah, we want to promote more of that message.

[01:06:50] We want to try and practice a little bit of patience.

[01:06:55] Try and be a little courteous, help out and help out.

[01:06:59] Linda helping hand, give a hug or a crisp high five.

[01:07:04] Try and make someone's day.

[01:07:06] And let's just try and do and be better just a little bit.

[01:07:10] You know, a little goes a long way and let's just try and be

[01:07:13] better out there and promote more love and more compassion.

[01:07:18] Thank you all on Be Safe.

[01:07:21] J Rock.

[01:07:23] Lions main take it.

[01:07:26] Well, first of all, I was to answer your question.

[01:07:28] Yeah, I hope it turns into more of a indie show.

[01:07:33] Not massively large as an E3 but enough where people are able

[01:07:40] to just come together like a Comic Con ask or like a pecs.

[01:07:46] Not as not as heavy.

[01:07:49] What would when pecs started type of deal?

[01:07:52] Yeah, when pecs started.

[01:07:54] I mean, pecs has grown exponentially over the years.

[01:07:58] Leaves and bounds.

[01:07:59] But I mean, when it first started where it's just like,

[01:08:02] you know what?

[01:08:03] And I never can ever say this enough.

[01:08:06] Indie studios, indie games, they are the ones that

[01:08:13] are budding the video game industry now.

[01:08:17] We do have a lot of...

[01:08:19] They're the ones with the original ideas.

[01:08:21] Yeah, we do have a lot of remakes, remasters,

[01:08:25] things that cling on to our past, you know,

[01:08:31] our retro selves, our classic games and stuff like that.

[01:08:35] But, you know, you can only redo Mario,

[01:08:38] you can only do redo Zelda,

[01:08:40] you can only redo Final Fantasy, Resident Evil.

[01:08:43] So many times before, you know,

[01:08:45] you just couldn't blur the games together.

[01:08:48] So indie games or at that,

[01:08:50] I still firmly believe that those are the studios

[01:08:54] that need a lot more visibility,

[01:08:59] a lot more like loving it.

[01:09:02] Speaking of indies, if you guys haven't visited...

[01:09:05] And if you guys haven't visited the Nintendo eShop lately,

[01:09:09] they've got a really good sale on indies

[01:09:11] and I bought a bunch of stuff.

[01:09:12] I've got a bunch of those too.

[01:09:13] Check that out.

[01:09:14] Hey, Theo, I got one thing to say.

[01:09:17] Don't steal it from there.

[01:09:20] I'm not Daniel, that's my life.

[01:09:22] If Matt steals it from me, that's it.

[01:09:24] Gone.

[01:09:26] What the heck, man?

[01:09:27] Can't close that.

[01:09:28] Disconnect.

[01:09:29] Can't close that correctly.

[01:09:31] But yeah, so hopefully, like we said,

[01:09:34] hopefully IGN Live does...

[01:09:37] IGNCon, whatever we want to call it,

[01:09:39] hopefully it does do well.

[01:09:43] It's good to have another Southern California one again.

[01:09:50] I feel like it's been a while.

[01:09:52] I hope it lights fire for competition for more.

[01:09:58] So that way you got Summer Game Fest,

[01:10:00] let's say GameSpot starts their own for some weird reason.

[01:10:06] Oh god, help us out.

[01:10:07] I'll bring back the GameSpot Expo.

[01:10:09] Or like...

[01:10:10] We did that a couple years, Jason.

[01:10:12] Or maybe the revitalized G4 does something,

[01:10:15] I don't know, but maybe it gives us some options.

[01:10:18] Anyways, brought the rise and fall for the rise and fall of G4.

[01:10:23] Anyways, with that.

[01:10:25] Anyways guys, you know how old time it is.

[01:10:27] But yo, be safe out there.

[01:10:31] What is it? The 23rd? It is almost...

[01:10:34] Almost the end of the first third of the year.

[01:10:36] Oh, hey, real quick, Jason, before you say it,

[01:10:40] next week, I just want to make this sound,

[01:10:42] and we'll put out a teaser video for it,

[01:10:45] is going to be a massive Final Fantasy 7 remake rebirth episode.

[01:10:50] John Eric Bentley, Vic, Mallory, Austin, Will, Paul,

[01:11:00] Danielle, and the voice of Reno Arnie will be joining us all

[01:11:08] next Tuesday night.

[01:11:10] Nice.

[01:11:11] That's going to be a different one.

[01:11:12] I'll leave this when we need one of those reels at the end of the show,

[01:11:15] is like stay up for the credits so you can see

[01:11:17] next week on Creshing Game Night.

[01:11:20] Jason, send it out.

[01:11:22] Anyways, like we do every week, you know,

[01:11:25] glad you enjoyed it.

[01:11:26] Hopefully you leave us some...

[01:11:28] Let us know what you think, what you want,

[01:11:30] what you want to hear from us.

[01:11:31] But you know, I know one thing you want to hear from us,

[01:11:33] my man, my man, Neil Walski.

[01:11:37] Send us out like you do.

[01:11:39] All right, y'all, thank you for watching.

[01:11:40] Thanks for listening.

[01:11:41] Until next time, TTFN,

[01:11:43] sad stuff.

[01:11:44] But now, good night everybody.
