[00:00:08] .
[00:00:12] My name is Matt DeUrrea.
[00:00:13] Your host has always...
[00:00:16] That's the intro.
[00:00:19] So, I've been about Steve Jobs.
[00:00:21] Anyways, I am on the road, so I don't have my usual equipment set up in South Carolina
[00:00:26] for my daughter's graduation in the morning.
[00:00:30] We are joined by the sun blessed one, the beanie one,
[00:00:34] to our Breara.
[00:00:36] Uh, what's up nerds?
[00:00:39] Don't believe viewers.
[00:00:40] It's artificial.
[00:00:41] It's artificial.
[00:00:42] I'm messing with my ring light right now.
[00:00:44] How's it going?
[00:00:45] Uh, how you know, but he, uh, can you go orange?
[00:00:48] Can you go orange?
[00:00:49] I could, um, I could try as in orange.
[00:00:52] You glad to see me blaming the ring light, but, but secretly probably
[00:00:56] does like self-tanner, the tanning bed, you know, it is, you know,
[00:01:02] it is required.
[00:01:04] Um, but, uh, no, what's going on?
[00:01:06] Missed you guys.
[00:01:07] It's, it's been a minute and, uh, yeah.
[00:01:10] Happy to be here and happy to, uh, see my boys.
[00:01:13] What's going on?
[00:01:14] No, ladies and gentlemen, the, or the, uh, baby face one.
[00:01:20] Hey, uh, I just freshly shaved today too.
[00:01:23] You an extra baby face, freshly shaved baby face one.
[00:01:25] Very cool.
[00:01:26] Very good.
[00:01:27] Very good.
[00:01:27] So it's only when I have stuff grown, do I look preteen?
[00:01:35] Oh, I'm just going to start calling you stewie.
[00:01:38] All right.
[00:01:39] Mom.
[00:01:40] Mama.
[00:01:41] Mommy.
[00:01:41] Mommy.
[00:01:43] Mama.
[00:01:44] Mama.
[00:01:45] Mom.
[00:01:47] And then, uh, ladies and gentlemen, the major services, the man with the
[00:01:51] catch, the man, the myth, the legend, the lion's man, Jason, but lady off.
[00:01:56] How's it going guys?
[00:01:57] How's it going tonight?
[00:01:59] Just the boys tonight.
[00:02:01] You know, yep.
[00:02:02] Tuesdays for the boys.
[00:02:04] Mm hmm.
[00:02:05] That's right.
[00:02:06] Well, I figured I'd make it easier since I'm traveling, you know, it's
[00:02:11] like man, not so much on the road and travel.
[00:02:17] How do you normally equipment?
[00:02:19] Yeah, you know, we got to make it harder on you all the time.
[00:02:22] All right.
[00:02:23] We're here for you.
[00:02:24] Yes, you do.
[00:02:26] What'd be the same?
[00:02:28] Oh, so we got to bid it.
[00:02:30] We got a bit of news to talk about.
[00:02:33] Oh, yeah.
[00:02:34] Yeah.
[00:02:35] Oh, we're talking about what's coming up on PlayStation this week or this month.
[00:02:39] Oh, Jason, don't worry.
[00:02:41] Oh, oh, go ahead.
[00:02:42] Oh, oh, oh, horses.
[00:02:44] He's got that itch.
[00:02:46] Oh my God, my shirt.
[00:02:46] He's got that itch going.
[00:02:48] He's already perfect.
[00:02:49] He's already perfect.
[00:02:50] Come on.
[00:02:51] OK, I'm right there with you.
[00:02:52] I'm right there with you.
[00:02:54] Go home PlayStation.
[00:02:55] Don't worry.
[00:02:56] But no, I'm excited for that one.
[00:02:58] I don't even know too.
[00:03:01] Well, let's go ahead and start it off, right?
[00:03:04] Because I want to also catch up on what we've all been playing
[00:03:06] because we haven't been able to talk about it for several weeks
[00:03:07] since we've had a bunch of guests on lately.
[00:03:12] You know, we got too many friends, man.
[00:03:14] I could Julia.
[00:03:15] Oh, no, we didn't know those guys.
[00:03:16] We got too many people we love from there.
[00:03:17] We want we want the.
[00:03:18] Oh, God, yeah, the Dekotri.
[00:03:20] I knew it.
[00:03:21] I know today.
[00:03:24] So $300.
[00:03:26] Jesus. Yeah.
[00:03:27] Yeah, we were talking about this earlier.
[00:03:29] I don't know about that price tag.
[00:03:31] You know, I'm going to show up.
[00:03:33] It is twenty five hundred pieces, right?
[00:03:36] Three hundred dollars.
[00:03:36] OK. Yeah.
[00:03:38] It's a two in one.
[00:03:39] So you can either do it as the tree from Breath of the Wild
[00:03:43] or the tree from Ocarina of Time.
[00:03:46] Oh, no way.
[00:03:46] OK, that's pretty cool.
[00:03:48] I like that school.
[00:03:49] Oh, here's the here's the Ocarina.
[00:03:52] So if it's twenty five hundred pieces, how big
[00:03:55] like dimensions, why is this?
[00:03:58] So I think the pictures standard pictures are not one foot, one foot by
[00:04:05] one foot kind of thing, you know.
[00:04:07] Oh, really?
[00:04:08] So I don't know.
[00:04:09] It doesn't seem to seem like God, if there is if there is a Lego Navi,
[00:04:13] I'm down because there is a Lego Navi.
[00:04:16] Oh, my God.
[00:04:17] Oh, my God.
[00:04:20] That thing.
[00:04:21] Oh, thank you.
[00:04:22] It doesn't have any any dimensions or anything on it as far as height wise.
[00:04:29] Three hundred.
[00:04:30] That's a bit over.
[00:04:32] That's a bit much.
[00:04:33] Let's put this in a context, right?
[00:04:35] We all know I have a Lego Tomic and I was putting in comparison, right?
[00:04:39] That is ninety dollars on Amazon right now.
[00:04:43] Yeah.
[00:04:44] It's how many pieces?
[00:04:45] How many pieces?
[00:04:46] Well, all hundred pieces.
[00:04:47] All hundred. OK.
[00:04:48] So it's half the pieces a third of the price.
[00:04:52] Correct.
[00:04:55] And probably taller.
[00:04:56] I mean, it's a tall neck.
[00:04:57] I bet it's bigger.
[00:04:58] Most like like I think this twenty five hundred is
[00:05:02] a prize of a ton of small pieces would be like one eighty five.
[00:05:07] Yeah.
[00:05:08] But it was a little bit for the license.
[00:05:10] One fifty on the ceiling.
[00:05:12] Two hundred.
[00:05:14] I think the licensing.
[00:05:16] I would say two hundred at most.
[00:05:18] Come on. I would pay for three hundred just seems way too much.
[00:05:22] Yeah, but I mean even the Harry Potter ones are a little bit over.
[00:05:25] Here's Bowser.
[00:05:26] Bowser's 270.
[00:05:28] Yeah. And it's twenty eight hundred pieces.
[00:05:31] I don't know if I would say the Harry Potter ones are overpriced
[00:05:34] because I feel like those are pretty intricate because they have moving
[00:05:36] some of them some of them are intricate.
[00:05:39] I would say some of them size ratio.
[00:05:42] What about the recent back cave?
[00:05:44] Like the back cave was like three hundred bucks.
[00:05:46] It's a new argument there.
[00:05:48] Then the NES is 270 for twenty six hundred pieces.
[00:05:53] So does that one move?
[00:05:55] Is that the one that moves?
[00:05:56] Yeah, OK.
[00:05:57] So it's got moving parts.
[00:06:00] Yeah.
[00:06:02] So.
[00:06:04] Yeah, they don't even have the dimensions here.
[00:06:07] Right.
[00:06:07] Like you would like on the the rest of the of them.
[00:06:11] Thank you. So.
[00:06:14] Oh, specifications.
[00:06:15] Did it have anything listed here?
[00:06:20] So twenty five hundred pieces, two in one building kit.
[00:06:24] Four mini figures.
[00:06:26] I mean that's cool.
[00:06:26] That's a two in one building.
[00:06:27] It's a Zelda and three versions of of Link.
[00:06:30] But I feel at the price, you shouldn't get two for two in one.
[00:06:33] You should just get two.
[00:06:35] Oh, it is going to require the Lego building, the builder app.
[00:06:39] So they're going the Mario Lego route.
[00:06:43] What do you mean by the builder?
[00:06:44] Like that's the instructions.
[00:06:46] So basically the instructions, it's digital.
[00:06:48] So it's just like you would for all the Mario Lego sets,
[00:06:52] you get the app, you download it, you build it from there.
[00:06:55] The upside is though, you can move it.
[00:06:57] So like if you're trying to figure out
[00:06:58] where exactly the piece goes, you can kind of get you get a better angle out of it.
[00:07:02] But here was always frustrating in the old school manuals,
[00:07:05] like they had to do like transparency in order for you to see where it is.
[00:07:09] So here's the measurements in terms of height.
[00:07:13] The if you do the ocarina of time,
[00:07:17] the model that stands at 13 inches tall,
[00:07:20] the legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild Decotree is 12 inches tall.
[00:07:23] So one foot baby.
[00:07:25] So that's so shorter than your.
[00:07:28] You can make a tall man like was like 15 16 something like that.
[00:07:33] It's supposed to be tall like so it was a great.
[00:07:37] This must be fat though.
[00:07:39] Like that could use.
[00:07:40] You say so.
[00:07:40] I don't know.
[00:07:41] I just I just feel three hundred is is a bit like two hundred at most.
[00:07:45] For me, I should stop body shaming the Decotree.
[00:07:48] You know what?
[00:07:49] The best price is comfortable with its size, sir.
[00:07:53] You know, it's PHAT.
[00:07:56] Right.
[00:07:56] It's capable with the size of the HAT.
[00:07:59] I still oh, I still want to get that piranha plant too.
[00:08:01] Does Gen Z understand PHAT?
[00:08:03] I don't think they do.
[00:08:06] Fat.
[00:08:08] Yes, so here's H word almost.
[00:08:10] Hey, yeah, that was a 90s word, dude.
[00:08:13] Now, I don't think that would fly today.
[00:08:15] No, it wouldn't.
[00:08:17] So here's the tall man.
[00:08:18] We had some good like jokes written in movies for like fat.
[00:08:23] P.H. like, oh, yeah, we had some good jokes.
[00:08:28] And the whole night is so the tall neck is 13 and a half inches tall.
[00:08:33] OK, so OK, taller.
[00:08:35] Yeah, that's a piece is so bad.
[00:08:39] But it's supposed to be tall like it's you're welcome again, by the way.
[00:08:42] I still want to get that for myself.
[00:08:45] Oh, it's so good.
[00:08:47] It's in stock, sir. It's in stock.
[00:08:48] Really, it's got over over night shipping.
[00:08:51] Dude, they still have do they still have that light kit?
[00:08:54] Because I'm going to get that light kit for I am not.
[00:08:57] I'm not a fan of some of the light kits out there.
[00:08:59] Like I bought one.
[00:09:01] I had gotten one for my New York City one.
[00:09:05] And the way it has to go into the set
[00:09:08] and there's just tons of wires sticking out of it.
[00:09:11] It just didn't look great at all.
[00:09:12] So, um, so, yeah, it's.
[00:09:17] Yeah, it is.
[00:09:19] So honestly, I think I think when it comes down to it,
[00:09:23] I think two ninety nine for the deco tree, even though you are getting
[00:09:25] it's a two in one kit, you're getting the occurring of time
[00:09:27] and you're getting the breath of the wild.
[00:09:29] I think it's overpriced at three hundred.
[00:09:31] I mean, I think, yeah, I think to Jason's point,
[00:09:35] you're paying your pay for the license.
[00:09:38] Yeah, come on, guys.
[00:09:39] Like, I mean, at least it's early enough.
[00:09:41] It's probably going to go on sale for Black Friday.
[00:09:44] Well, it's not a pre-order.
[00:09:46] Chances are it's going to be sold out by the time you see if it's available.
[00:09:50] Oh, it's not going to be soft, man.
[00:09:52] Like is it a limited run?
[00:09:56] I don't know.
[00:09:57] Even if it isn't, you know, when when license popular,
[00:10:03] like sets like this, it's going to sell out.
[00:10:06] It's that popular.
[00:10:08] It really it really will sell out.
[00:10:09] And then we'll see how long it takes for the restocks and see from there
[00:10:14] because it didn't say limited.
[00:10:16] But you know, when it comes to these kind of sets,
[00:10:20] you know, Lego knows what they're doing.
[00:10:22] So like it depends on how like fast it sells out.
[00:10:25] And then they'll like they'll take their time for the next restock.
[00:10:30] And then, you know, do what they've done with like some of the Harry Potter
[00:10:34] sets or even some of the.
[00:10:37] Like what are the other sets that have or like some of the like new
[00:10:41] Batman sets to like there were there were large times in between restocks.
[00:10:50] OK, yeah.
[00:10:52] Yeah. So I mean, when like back to eating, what we need?
[00:10:58] And I just stop it.
[00:10:59] Stop it. Don't call me out like that, bro.
[00:11:01] No, you did it.
[00:11:02] You did it yourself.
[00:11:03] Which Eden, which Eden.
[00:11:05] I'm just play.
[00:11:07] Hey.
[00:11:10] Nice. Why are you going to call me out like that, bro?
[00:11:12] Like, I mean, I can text you had the camera on.
[00:11:15] I got to do it. I got to call it.
[00:11:18] Oh, my God.
[00:11:22] I haven't told I've been told the man.
[00:11:23] I was like, it was John going beyond today.
[00:11:25] I hope not. Right.
[00:11:27] We did a witness.
[00:11:28] We did some road.
[00:11:30] I'm doing John's monitor.
[00:11:32] And this is like, I got I got a dinner.
[00:11:34] Did you really get some road house?
[00:11:36] It's a Texas roadhouse.
[00:11:37] Got me a boy grill some grilled salmon.
[00:11:42] Baked potato.
[00:11:44] See the salad rolls.
[00:11:46] It's I kick of shrimp.
[00:11:48] You know, the rules, the rules are my my weakness.
[00:11:51] And I hit the rules.
[00:11:54] Like the best of the seals.
[00:11:57] Fuck you.
[00:11:59] The roles at Texas Roadhouse are better
[00:12:01] than Lucille's biscuits. Sorry, dude.
[00:12:03] Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:12:05] Sorry.
[00:12:08] Every time we go to Lucille's,
[00:12:10] it's got too much of the sugar seasoning on it.
[00:12:14] It's still.
[00:12:15] But that's that's the point of it, though, man.
[00:12:17] Like if you do by itself, do you have it by itself?
[00:12:20] Unfortunately, that's the that's the point of like the Lucille's.
[00:12:23] But I understand that.
[00:12:25] I know you have to understand that it's it's with or without the butter
[00:12:29] because that is a texture thing.
[00:12:31] It's texture. It makes a difference with or without the butter, sir.
[00:12:35] I understand the other side.
[00:12:36] You know, you'd like more of the cornbreadie type.
[00:12:40] The roadhouse ones because they do not need butter, sir.
[00:12:43] Correct. OK, that's fair.
[00:12:46] Apples.
[00:12:47] KFC.
[00:12:49] But Popeyes is more biscuit than a roll, isn't it?
[00:12:51] Yeah.
[00:12:54] You know, I feel like that's a density thing.
[00:12:57] Yeah, kind of kind of tomorrow.
[00:13:01] Correct. You know, it's interpretation.
[00:13:04] But I mean, it's not like compared to like a sky.
[00:13:08] You're kind of it's kind of apples and oranges
[00:13:10] because it's kind of dinner biscuits.
[00:13:12] And that's those are like breakfast biscuits.
[00:13:16] Mm hmm.
[00:13:18] Get away from all you let us know.
[00:13:21] I don't know.
[00:13:22] Is there a difference?
[00:13:23] I don't know.
[00:13:25] So different.
[00:13:27] Just give me chicken minis.
[00:13:29] I'll be fine.
[00:13:30] Good old chick minis.
[00:13:31] Yes.
[00:13:32] Way in on it.
[00:13:34] Cool. That's why Texas Roadhouse.
[00:13:36] I'll get the chicken critters and put those in the rolls.
[00:13:39] So it's a big size chick mini.
[00:13:41] That's some good stuff.
[00:13:43] Oh, that sounds so good right now.
[00:13:46] You're welcome.
[00:13:47] I'll still go for some some gumbo.
[00:13:50] Yeah.
[00:13:51] So good old gumbo.
[00:13:54] So game that we all got to see in 2014.
[00:13:59] Yeah, 2014 because that's your
[00:14:02] that's your first year, Theo and I went to E3
[00:14:05] met you guys and our buddy Mike went with us.
[00:14:10] We didn't meet.
[00:14:10] Yep.
[00:14:11] And then when Mike was there, was it?
[00:14:13] Yeah.
[00:14:14] 2014.
[00:14:15] I thought it was only when we were there with Scott.
[00:14:17] He was the he was the dude that ran the shop.
[00:14:20] It was Mr. Craig.
[00:14:21] Yeah.
[00:14:22] Yeah.
[00:14:23] Yeah.
[00:14:24] I remember.
[00:14:25] I remember.
[00:14:26] You always do.
[00:14:27] Tall guy with glasses.
[00:14:28] Oh my god.
[00:14:29] I remember.
[00:14:30] We won't talk about it.
[00:14:32] And then the next year was Scott.
[00:14:34] When there was there was a moment where would he
[00:14:37] dude he was having a great time because he
[00:14:39] dude he got hammered.
[00:14:41] Yes, he did.
[00:14:43] I mean, that's why I remember him.
[00:14:44] What was he going to do when Theo and I were attending
[00:14:46] the best conference?
[00:14:48] Yeah. Yeah.
[00:14:50] But that was hilarious.
[00:14:51] Yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:14:52] He's like, that wasn't even the same day.
[00:14:55] It was a different day.
[00:14:55] We went to Yard House for lunch.
[00:14:57] He like, I don't know how many beers he downed.
[00:14:59] But then he was like super happy for the rest of the.
[00:15:02] Yep.
[00:15:03] He won't live it down.
[00:15:04] Let me live it down like we'd go over to a booth
[00:15:07] and they're like tossing stuff out.
[00:15:09] And he's just because he towers over me,
[00:15:11] he just reaches and grabs it before I get it.
[00:15:16] Anyway, bastard.
[00:15:18] Little big planet three.
[00:15:20] So.
[00:15:21] OK, up until January, they've had the online
[00:15:26] services servers up and running.
[00:15:28] Yeah.
[00:15:28] So what I didn't know is that one,
[00:15:31] they were still up and running, right?
[00:15:32] Because it's been, you know, a decade now, right?
[00:15:35] But they released a statement a couple of weeks ago.
[00:15:39] We had guests on to cover it, right?
[00:15:41] Is that due to ongoing technical issues,
[00:15:43] which resulted in the little big planet three servers
[00:15:46] for PS4 being taken offline temporarily in January 2024.
[00:15:50] The decision has been made to keep the servers offline indefinitely.
[00:15:54] All online services, including access to other players,
[00:15:58] creations for a little big planet three are no longer available.
[00:16:00] Users generated content stored locally on your PS4
[00:16:03] remain available.
[00:16:05] Any new UGC you create can be played on your PS4.
[00:16:09] But not shared offline features such as the campaign
[00:16:11] will remain playable.
[00:16:12] Thank you for your support.
[00:16:15] OK, that's fair.
[00:16:17] You know what? I mean, at this point,
[00:16:19] you know, Sumo Digital did a great job
[00:16:21] with little big planet three, added new features to it
[00:16:23] over, you know, what media molecule had actually started.
[00:16:27] We all know the whole reason that everything was handed off
[00:16:30] to Sumo Digital.
[00:16:32] It was because media molecule was standing up dreams.
[00:16:36] You know, they were building all of that in the background.
[00:16:38] So but yeah, like you said, we'll never forget what they first started.
[00:16:42] And I'll never forget that first intro.
[00:16:45] That was, you know, that was I think a time when.
[00:16:50] You know, people took took pride in like the intro of a video game,
[00:16:55] especially like, oh, yeah, all of the all the big planets.
[00:16:59] Yeah. And especially the first because it's kind of there.
[00:17:03] You can kind of see glimpses of like where they're going with dream.
[00:17:08] And like that was our overall theme.
[00:17:10] Like in the first little big planet, like create your own dreams,
[00:17:14] like you're in planet and like create it was it was just so cool.
[00:17:18] And it was at the time it was called the Magisphere.
[00:17:21] Yeah, I just fear that's right.
[00:17:23] And they had such a Disney like pure Disney
[00:17:26] as any like theme to it.
[00:17:29] And just and the fact that like Sackboy
[00:17:33] was like, you know, the pop up is like, hey,
[00:17:36] you just fell in love with him instantly.
[00:17:38] Yeah, it's it's such a good game.
[00:17:41] I loved them so much.
[00:17:42] I've got two Sackboy figures in my office.
[00:17:46] One is Nathan Drake, which we got at E3.
[00:17:49] And then the other one is Kratos that Gerard got me.
[00:17:55] Honestly, if anyone from PlayStation is even listening,
[00:17:58] can we get little big planet remastered?
[00:18:01] In the PS5?
[00:18:02] Yeah, I don't know.
[00:18:03] I mean, I don't know.
[00:18:04] I don't know, man.
[00:18:06] Or at least maybe keep it alive.
[00:18:08] It needs to be remastered.
[00:18:09] Maybe make another one.
[00:18:10] Maybe maybe make another adventure like maybe a reboot,
[00:18:15] but a new like is included on the central PlayStation Plus
[00:18:20] or any premium places.
[00:18:23] It might be.
[00:18:24] No, they had recently what Sackboy adventure
[00:18:26] or something like that.
[00:18:27] Well, Sackboy is big adventure.
[00:18:29] It's five.
[00:18:30] You know, it's not quite the same.
[00:18:32] It's not quite the same.
[00:18:33] Yeah, but I mean, it's not bad.
[00:18:35] You don't need to have a one to one.
[00:18:37] Come on, guys, remember we talk.
[00:18:38] I want this.
[00:18:40] I want OG.
[00:18:41] I want little big planet.
[00:18:43] That was the side scrolling.
[00:18:46] Just kiss masterpiece for me.
[00:18:47] Yeah.
[00:18:48] Or I would say like bring something new to the table,
[00:18:51] but like bring back some of that that old feel.
[00:18:55] But the one thing I would say that the first game did,
[00:18:59] I think very well as when they added DLC, like,
[00:19:03] I'll know once again, I'll never forget how much fun I had with it.
[00:19:07] And the Metal Gear DLC was so cleverly done
[00:19:12] like the way they loved and like everything looked like
[00:19:17] sacrilege in like the threads.
[00:19:20] It was just so imaginative and fun.
[00:19:23] And that's what I mean.
[00:19:24] Like, but then all the big games had tie ins.
[00:19:27] Yeah.
[00:19:28] You had final you had Final Fantasy
[00:19:30] so you could dress as Cloud and Seth Roth and Aaron get uncharted.
[00:19:34] We got a one thing Sony related.
[00:19:37] Yeah, that was cool.
[00:19:39] That's fine.
[00:19:40] But I think like you are starting to encroach on that.
[00:19:45] I know don't get me wrong.
[00:19:47] Little Big Planet did start doing it first,
[00:19:49] but you are encroaching in on the Super Mario Maker community as well.
[00:19:54] Like, I know I know that Little Big Planet did do it first.
[00:19:58] You know, that's fine.
[00:20:00] But you have to be imaginative of what that you can do in the Little Big Planet
[00:20:09] universe. That's that's what I'm agreeing with, like people within
[00:20:12] the universe and what they use.
[00:20:15] But like like give us something new, but like a single
[00:20:20] yeah, a single player story, you know, to bring back.
[00:20:23] The thing is that if you go too broad, it becomes too
[00:20:27] like too wishy-washy.
[00:20:29] But if you go too narrow, then you're going to be like, well,
[00:20:32] it's the same literal levels over and over and over.
[00:20:35] That's what makes the I would honestly like good is because you can
[00:20:40] do multiple things because of what you can do in Mario.
[00:20:45] You can do it in Mario one.
[00:20:46] Make three so good.
[00:20:48] You can do it in Mario like in Mario 64.
[00:20:52] You can do I mean all sorts of different Mario's you can use.
[00:20:57] And that's what it comes down to like game wise.
[00:21:02] You just have to have that that ability
[00:21:06] to create all these different things because,
[00:21:08] Sackboy, you're like you can grab onto things cool.
[00:21:11] You know, you can make things
[00:21:14] animated just based on how you present it.
[00:21:17] You know, that's cool.
[00:21:18] But you have to go a little bit more,
[00:21:23] but at the same time, not too much where
[00:21:26] it just blows up and you can't get anything done.
[00:21:30] My dream scenario for a new game with Sackboy would be like
[00:21:34] play in on that
[00:21:37] play in on the on the Sony universes.
[00:21:40] So like have him actually go to
[00:21:44] be good, though, to you know, in Tomb Raider land.
[00:21:48] And he's like dress and go to Uncharted Raider
[00:21:51] or like or he's swinging, you know,
[00:21:54] from building to building as Nathan Drake.
[00:21:57] And he's like, what am I wearing?
[00:22:00] You know what I mean?
[00:22:00] Like have Sack be conscious that he's going through these universes
[00:22:05] and like, you know, he agrees and he has like,
[00:22:09] you know, the Kratos' knives and oh my God.
[00:22:14] Or is Jerry's dream sound a little remnant
[00:22:18] of his love for Disney Infinity?
[00:22:21] I'm getting that feeling.
[00:22:23] It's always going to step from that, you know,
[00:22:26] bring back his baby, please.
[00:22:28] But I like the life of Sackboy, right?
[00:22:32] But no, like, like not even it wouldn't even be Toys
[00:22:35] to Life, but it would be him going from like world to world.
[00:22:38] Like you're trying to get to some sort of end.
[00:22:42] But, you know, play on the fact that they have those.
[00:22:44] You can play it on Ratchet and Clank, right?
[00:22:48] Yeah. I mean, you can bring all of those in.
[00:22:50] Bring all those old.
[00:22:52] Yeah, man.
[00:22:53] Give me some more of the doors
[00:22:55] of some of those older franchises.
[00:22:57] Well, like he uses the whole medieval.
[00:22:59] Really remember that?
[00:23:00] Remember that Sony game?
[00:23:02] Well, like he uses the riff gun, right?
[00:23:04] And instead of it going from like point A to point B
[00:23:06] within that world, right?
[00:23:07] All of a sudden something goes wrong and it goes to like
[00:23:10] the Sony versus or something.
[00:23:12] That boy just got done, you know, screwing around with it
[00:23:14] because it's Sackboy and he just, you know.
[00:23:18] So I want to see Spider-Man Sackboy.
[00:23:23] He doesn't shoot out webs.
[00:23:24] He shoots out shoots out strings like strings.
[00:23:27] Oh, wouldn't that be sweet?
[00:23:28] But it's like yarned like the like the webs.
[00:23:32] That'd be cool. Yeah.
[00:23:33] Yeah, that's what I mean.
[00:23:34] Like, all right.
[00:23:36] Play on now that Jason.
[00:23:37] Whatever Sony developers listening,
[00:23:39] make sure you give us credit for this idea.
[00:23:41] Yeah.
[00:23:43] And then just let us be the first to test it in
[00:23:46] and like check it out in their review and like, we'll be good.
[00:23:49] That's cool. That'd be cool.
[00:23:50] All right. We got 18. Yeah.
[00:23:54] Let's talk about the other major announcement
[00:23:55] and then we can get to what Jason's really here for tonight.
[00:23:58] Come on, you know what?
[00:24:01] So first and foremost, while we were, you know,
[00:24:04] way having guests and stuff on Hiroki Totuki or Tohtoki.
[00:24:10] Who to toki or to toki.
[00:24:13] Yeah.
[00:24:15] Hiroki, son, I'll just put it that way.
[00:24:18] He announced the replacement or rather
[00:24:21] the replacements for Jim Ryan.
[00:24:26] So it reads this message he sent out on the 13th.
[00:24:31] So two weeks ago to SIE employees.
[00:24:36] It says it brings me great pleasure
[00:24:38] to announce that I've decided on the succession strategy
[00:24:40] for the role of CEO at SIE over the last decade.
[00:24:43] SIE has grown tremendously,
[00:24:45] building upon our continuous success in hardware,
[00:24:47] software and services through a sharper focus
[00:24:49] on player engagement.
[00:24:50] It also doesn't hurt that Xbox hasn't had a time
[00:24:53] in the last decade.
[00:24:56] But to continue this growth momentum,
[00:24:58] we are moving forward with a new management structure
[00:25:00] for SIE.
[00:25:01] In fact, June 1st,
[00:25:05] Nishino San will be appointed CEO
[00:25:08] of SIE's platform business group.
[00:25:10] And Herman Hulse will be appointed CEO
[00:25:12] of SIE Studio Business Group.
[00:25:15] Effected the same day,
[00:25:16] same day I will step down for my current role
[00:25:18] as interim CEO and become chairman of SIE
[00:25:21] in addition to my roles at Sony Global Court.
[00:25:24] Both Herman and Nishino San
[00:25:26] will report to me as SIE chairman.
[00:25:29] Nishino San will continue his role leading
[00:25:33] the platform experience group overseeing technologies,
[00:25:36] products, services and platform experience.
[00:25:39] He will also oversee third party publisher
[00:25:41] and developer relations and commercial operations
[00:25:44] including sales and marketing of hardware services
[00:25:46] and peripherals.
[00:25:49] Herman Hulse who he's been over PlayStation Studios
[00:25:54] for a while now.
[00:25:57] He was the former head of Gorilla
[00:26:00] which we all know as Horizon and Killzone.
[00:26:05] Herman will continue to lead SIE Studio Business
[00:26:08] including PlayStation Studios, Bungie
[00:26:10] and PlayStation Productions
[00:26:12] which PlayStation Productions is the TV and movie arm
[00:26:16] of PlayStation.
[00:26:17] So I think Gran Turismo, Last of Us, Uncharted.
[00:26:23] He'll be responsible for the development publishing
[00:26:25] and business operations of SIE's first party content
[00:26:28] as well as IP expansion opportunities
[00:26:30] through PlayStation Productions.
[00:26:32] Later this month you will learn more
[00:26:33] about the long-term vision for Sony Group
[00:26:35] and the essential role SIE plays in that vision.
[00:26:38] As I mentioned previously,
[00:26:40] fist year 24 marks the start of the mid-range
[00:26:43] planned period for Sony Group
[00:26:45] in which we will set the course for sustainable growth.
[00:26:48] The future is incredibly bright for SIE
[00:26:50] and that is thanks to all of you
[00:26:51] since I became chairman in October 23.
[00:26:54] I've been inspired by your enthusiasm,
[00:26:56] innovative approaches and teamwork.
[00:26:58] These values will serve us well
[00:26:59] as we embark on the exciting future of SIE.
[00:27:03] Please join me in congratulating
[00:27:05] Michino San and Herman on their roles.
[00:27:07] And I don't think that's necessarily a bad move
[00:27:11] on Sony's part to split the roles,
[00:27:15] let one person lead the platform side
[00:27:17] and let somebody else lead the first party software side.
[00:27:21] Herman Hulse has been in the trenches
[00:27:23] for first-party studio perspective for agents now.
[00:27:28] So I think between him and that group,
[00:27:33] I think they'll do all right.
[00:27:37] Yeah, we'll see how it works out.
[00:27:39] I mean, I don't know how it will work out
[00:27:45] to have two heads but if they can communicate
[00:27:51] and work together.
[00:27:53] Yeah, I kind of feel like it's admittance
[00:27:56] of it being such a huge job, a huge passion.
[00:28:02] That could be a factor as well,
[00:28:03] which is why this is their answer to it,
[00:28:05] which is good hopefully.
[00:28:08] Let's just hopefully see some good change
[00:28:12] in their direction.
[00:28:14] If these roles were separated prior to Jim Ryan
[00:28:17] taking over after having Sean lead
[00:28:21] and we're kind of going back and forth
[00:28:23] and Sean left, right?
[00:28:24] Is do you think we would have gotten a PS5
[00:28:32] when we did during COVID?
[00:28:34] And more importantly,
[00:28:35] do you think we would have gotten
[00:28:37] that whole multi-generational platform support
[00:28:40] where all games coming out had to be PS4 and PS5
[00:28:45] with exception of like Ratchet and Clank
[00:28:48] because you look at Miles Morales, Spider-Man.
[00:28:52] Those games right around that time like Horizon,
[00:28:54] big example, Horizon for Ben West with dual platform.
[00:28:59] I don't think so.
[00:29:00] I personally think that even splitting up of the positions
[00:29:04] wouldn't, at least in my mind, granted,
[00:29:08] I don't know the intricacies of their company,
[00:29:09] but from a corporate world perspective,
[00:29:13] those splitting that one voice into two
[00:29:15] is still not going to override the board
[00:29:17] being greedy and wanting to do certain things
[00:29:20] so it's still going to be the same way.
[00:29:21] It's not going to change nothing.
[00:29:23] I at least think the direction of the,
[00:29:31] I'm sorry, what you were saying about the games
[00:29:34] would have stayed the same.
[00:29:36] The dual, I still think they would have required
[00:29:40] PS4 to PS5.
[00:29:42] I just think that was once again,
[00:29:45] like you said, Theo,
[00:29:48] the shareholders are just thinking like,
[00:29:50] stop thinking of the past.
[00:29:53] You know, PS4 is their biggest moneymaker
[00:29:55] and they're putting all their chips on PS5,
[00:29:58] stick to PS4 and PS5 games.
[00:30:00] I think that would never would have changed.
[00:30:02] The other side of the direction,
[00:30:05] I think maybe we may have seen a shift or something
[00:30:11] if they had a little bit more relief from the job,
[00:30:16] but I don't know.
[00:30:17] I mean, Theo may also be right on that as well.
[00:30:22] You know, shareholders really have the final say.
[00:30:30] But I don't know.
[00:30:31] On the other side, I don't know.
[00:30:33] I think it's honestly,
[00:30:34] it's just as they're splitting up the job, the role,
[00:30:39] it makes it more, I feel that it's better
[00:30:42] just because you're more focused.
[00:30:44] I agree.
[00:30:45] I think there will be a focus.
[00:30:47] Quality improvement?
[00:30:48] Yeah.
[00:30:49] Like a matter of what gets output and everything.
[00:30:52] Yeah, just what Matt was saying,
[00:30:54] had this happened earlier, would we have seen
[00:30:56] some sort of change?
[00:30:58] I don't think you would have seen a lot of change then,
[00:31:01] but now since a lot of people have been constantly,
[00:31:05] like constantly, like just-
[00:31:07] And really voicing their opinion too.
[00:31:09] Just honestly, brutalizing games and their views
[00:31:13] because a lot of them have been pushed,
[00:31:15] a lot of them have been rushed.
[00:31:18] And who is to blame for that?
[00:31:20] Those are the ones that are way up at the top.
[00:31:24] I think primarily-
[00:31:25] That the designers are like in a rut,
[00:31:29] it's because they're being pushed to a certain degree,
[00:31:32] like, hey, we need this out now.
[00:31:36] Well, if you weren't working on seven projects
[00:31:42] at one time, then you would have been seeing that,
[00:31:45] oh, this is not ready.
[00:31:48] How many times, how many games have been rushed
[00:31:51] to the point of like, there are bugs still at day one?
[00:31:54] There are still tons of things that are not available.
[00:31:59] Now, let's say, how recently has that same situation
[00:32:04] come up within the past few years?
[00:32:07] I would say, like, cyberpunk I would say is,
[00:32:12] isn't the first, but certainly-
[00:32:14] It's not the first, but it's not the last.
[00:32:16] But I certainly think it was like the tipping point
[00:32:19] of people saying what's going on here.
[00:32:22] Yeah, exactly.
[00:32:23] And that's why it's-
[00:32:24] I think-
[00:32:25] Yeah.
[00:32:26] It's just, obviously it's gonna have it from the higher up
[00:32:30] that say, hey, they do need more time.
[00:32:32] Hey, you know what?
[00:32:34] It's a little bit more backing for them to say,
[00:32:37] hey, like one more month we can push it back.
[00:32:40] Or like somebody in that developer corner,
[00:32:44] especially since the head of Gorilla
[00:32:46] is taking over one of those roles,
[00:32:48] he understands, he knows exactly how much time they need.
[00:32:53] Yes, it's not gonna be like, oh,
[00:32:55] a Final Fantasy VII delay, you know?
[00:33:00] That's fine because they still need to make money
[00:33:02] as a business, I get that.
[00:33:04] But they are gonna be able to say, hey, you know what?
[00:33:06] Yes, we did say quarter three.
[00:33:09] It's coming to the end of quarter three.
[00:33:12] So let's just push it to like the very last day of quarter three
[00:33:16] or like the very beginning of quarter four
[00:33:19] where we can kind of get away with it.
[00:33:21] Yes, people are gonna be mad about that,
[00:33:24] but they again would rather see a delay
[00:33:28] and rather see them take care of their game
[00:33:30] versus putting out,
[00:33:33] and I'm gonna throw it out there a red fall, you know?
[00:33:36] You know, I think having that split,
[00:33:38] split seat heads right is now is,
[00:33:41] you have one person that can worry about
[00:33:43] getting the hardware right,
[00:33:45] getting it where it needs to be,
[00:33:47] and then you have someone else
[00:33:48] focusing on just the software side, you know?
[00:33:51] Instead of do we have too many carbon copies
[00:33:54] of games coming out because
[00:33:56] we just need to get games up, right?
[00:33:58] I get it.
[00:34:00] I love Na'vi Dog.
[00:34:02] But, right, we got Last of Us 1
[00:34:05] and Last of Us 2 remakes,
[00:34:08] you know, to capitalize on the show,
[00:34:11] you know, it feels like they just slapped,
[00:34:14] in some ways, slapped a shiny coat of paint.
[00:34:16] Now I haven't gone in and played part two yet
[00:34:19] as far as the remake.
[00:34:19] No, but from a business standpoint,
[00:34:22] that I understand,
[00:34:25] especially because, you know,
[00:34:27] a studio like that who's gonna put money into more money
[00:34:31] into an entity and going into like a series,
[00:34:35] they need a...
[00:34:37] Oh no, I get that point.
[00:34:38] Right.
[00:34:39] I do understand, but I do understand your point.
[00:34:42] But do you get the constant remakes, right?
[00:34:44] Just to say, hey, we need to get software out
[00:34:46] and I'm not gonna kind of worry about you.
[00:34:47] You don't even need to worry about hard work.
[00:34:49] Unbelievable, total cash grabs, totally agree.
[00:34:51] But, you know, also, you know,
[00:34:54] the flip side is they...
[00:34:57] I understand some of the moves,
[00:34:59] but don't make it a consistent thing.
[00:35:03] And I think that's what you're kind of warning
[00:35:05] because it's starting to look
[00:35:07] like that's the direction they're going.
[00:35:10] So keep recycling and, you know, where's the originality?
[00:35:14] And now you have two,
[00:35:15] you have someone else focused on the hardware side.
[00:35:17] Yeah, so hopefully...
[00:35:19] That's now off your plate.
[00:35:20] So hopefully...
[00:35:21] They can shift back to some originality,
[00:35:25] some original content.
[00:35:27] I would kind of think from a different perspective
[00:35:29] or a different route,
[00:35:30] like back to Matt's scenario,
[00:35:34] if the position had split up sooner,
[00:35:39] I kind of have a feeling that it probably
[00:35:41] would have saved more jobs
[00:35:43] than that have been lost over the years.
[00:35:46] Agreed.
[00:35:47] I have a feeling that there's a strong possibility for that.
[00:35:50] Yeah, I think so as well.
[00:35:53] So let's talk about some happiness, right?
[00:35:55] Because we don't know how this is gonna go right now.
[00:35:58] But Jason...
[00:35:59] So good luck, good luck, Sony, hopefully.
[00:36:01] Yeah, good luck, Jason.
[00:36:04] Let's talk about this.
[00:36:05] Yes, you know it, baby.
[00:36:06] And all of one big giant article.
[00:36:08] So we got days of play to get ready to start up here.
[00:36:11] They are starting tomorrow.
[00:36:13] We are recording this on the 28th.
[00:36:14] Those are starting up on the 29th.
[00:36:16] It'll run all the way through June 12.
[00:36:19] So this article contains what Jason loves
[00:36:22] about this time of the month and whatnot.
[00:36:25] So they did one article.
[00:36:25] So they're giving free avatars.
[00:36:27] Free avatar? Oh, sweet.
[00:36:30] So you're getting...
[00:36:31] Slimer?
[00:36:32] You know, you're getting Sly Cooper.
[00:36:34] Sly, sweet.
[00:36:36] All right, so PlayStation Plus games for the month.
[00:36:41] You have Streets of Rage 4, AEW Fight Forever,
[00:36:45] and SpongeBob the Cosmic Shake.
[00:36:49] Okay, you know, not a strong month this month.
[00:36:52] I've heard good things about this.
[00:36:53] And always be bangers, Jerry.
[00:36:54] We talk about this, bro.
[00:36:56] Agreed, but not bad.
[00:36:58] Third Streets of Rage 4 was really good.
[00:37:01] There are wrestling fans.
[00:37:02] I mean, it looks good.
[00:37:04] Even just from the...
[00:37:05] It's out there.
[00:37:06] Just from the album, it looks good.
[00:37:08] I mean...
[00:37:09] No.
[00:37:10] Overall, like I would say this is still kind of...
[00:37:12] Like that's a decent run, but like in...
[00:37:14] It's on the low end of what they've done before.
[00:37:17] Let's be honest.
[00:37:18] This is the core...
[00:37:19] I wouldn't say the lowest though.
[00:37:21] We've seen worse.
[00:37:22] We haven't seen worse.
[00:37:23] We had crazy games last month.
[00:37:26] So I mean, like, relax.
[00:37:28] Yep.
[00:37:29] Calm down.
[00:37:29] Finish those games first, Jerry.
[00:37:32] Relax.
[00:37:33] I know, I'm just saying, dude.
[00:37:35] Like, okay, not a banger this month, but that happens.
[00:37:38] I understand.
[00:37:40] So you're getting a Roblox pack.
[00:37:43] Gives you a custom avatar and...
[00:37:45] Water, like Cool Off.
[00:37:47] Right.
[00:37:48] They're gonna be adding some other titles to...
[00:37:53] The VR.
[00:37:53] The catalog.
[00:37:54] Oh, the VR.
[00:37:55] So you're gonna get some VR titles in there,
[00:37:56] including Ghostbusters.
[00:37:59] So available for June 6th for the premium emerge.
[00:38:03] Again, Ghostbusters, Walk About, Mini Golf,
[00:38:06] Sith Riders Before Your Eyes and Walking Dead,
[00:38:09] PS2 Classics catalog.
[00:38:12] These will be available starting June 11th.
[00:38:14] You're getting Tomb Raider Legends, Star Wars,
[00:38:16] and Clone Wars.
[00:38:17] And you're getting Sly Cooper and the Thieves Rec...
[00:38:21] It's so crazy how much Sony has been like
[00:38:24] promoting Sly Cooper.
[00:38:26] Can we get Sly?
[00:38:27] We still haven't gotten a new game.
[00:38:30] And like clearly, people want it.
[00:38:33] He's still alive and he's still making money.
[00:38:36] Yep.
[00:38:37] So they're gonna be adding for the PS4 and PS5 games catalog.
[00:38:40] They're doing Dredge, LEGO Marvel Super Heroes 2,
[00:38:42] Cricket 24, Grand Theft Auto, San Andreas.
[00:38:46] They're doing a games trial for 2K...
[00:38:49] WWE 2K24.
[00:38:52] They're gonna have their daily community challenges
[00:38:55] going as well.
[00:38:56] They're gonna have Starz campaigns running as well
[00:39:00] to coincide with the days of play.
[00:39:06] So here's a big thing.
[00:39:08] So there are offers right now.
[00:39:11] So you're getting, say $50 on a PlayStation 5 console.
[00:39:16] So they're gonna do $50 off there.
[00:39:19] That's the PS5 and the PS5 all digital versions.
[00:39:21] And it's between the 20th and the 12th.
[00:39:24] And it's at participating local retailers.
[00:39:27] Well, double check.
[00:39:28] Check your trading platform store.
[00:39:30] You're doing $100 off PlayStation VR2
[00:39:33] and the VR2 Horizon called Mountain Bundle.
[00:39:36] They're also doing $20 off Spider-Man 2,
[00:39:40] the last of us part two remastered.
[00:39:42] It'll be in the show 24 and the Negro Leagues Edition
[00:39:45] and Rise of the Ronin for PlayStation Plus members only.
[00:39:53] You get 12 months of Netflix premium at no cost
[00:39:57] with the purchase of a PS5 console for a VR headset.
[00:40:05] And then new players who join PlayStation Plus
[00:40:09] can save up to 30% on a 12 month membership plan.
[00:40:16] And then they are doing some discounts
[00:40:19] on Sony movies in the store.
[00:40:21] And then the gear store as well.
[00:40:24] You get 20% off products store wide,
[00:40:27] including merchandise from Hell Divers 2,
[00:40:29] last of us goes to Shima Horizon, God of War.
[00:40:33] Downside is a lot of the good goes to Shima stuff
[00:40:35] is limited in its sizes on what's available and still left.
[00:40:42] But yeah, so that'll be, that's a good,
[00:40:44] it's a decent.
[00:40:46] That's not bad.
[00:40:47] I mean, that's pretty good.
[00:40:48] That's a decent place.
[00:40:49] It's pushing the PlayStation 5 right now,
[00:40:52] which it really needs at the moment.
[00:40:57] A lot of the consoles have kind of tapered off a little bit
[00:41:00] because no major titles have been pretty,
[00:41:04] nothing to look forward to, I should say.
[00:41:09] So it's a good time.
[00:41:11] Definitely.
[00:41:12] I'd say Rebirth is the biggest game
[00:41:14] that I've seen with a push of advertisement.
[00:41:17] Yeah, but I mean, even still,
[00:41:18] it's not super, wow, I need to get this right now.
[00:41:23] It definitely is that push for the summer holiday.
[00:41:26] It's a summer holiday.
[00:41:28] You know, the summertime, kids are gonna be home.
[00:41:30] What was better time to get it now?
[00:41:32] Days of play always coincides with that.
[00:41:34] So they always check it out again.
[00:41:38] June, not the super oh my God list of free games,
[00:41:44] but still solid games nonetheless, you know,
[00:41:47] they are a little more niche.
[00:41:50] That was like the announcement month because of the three.
[00:41:52] Yeah, but I mean, it's a little bit more niche
[00:41:56] with the SpongeBob, the AEW,
[00:42:00] and well, the third one, The Streets of Rage, you know?
[00:42:04] Yeah.
[00:42:05] Which, you know, I'm glad to see.
[00:42:06] Sometimes they gotta play to the younger audience.
[00:42:09] Yeah.
[00:42:09] Yeah, exactly.
[00:42:10] Kids are getting out of school.
[00:42:12] So I mean, this makes sense.
[00:42:14] Kids are out of school now.
[00:42:15] Who does?
[00:42:17] Jeff Jerry.
[00:42:19] I get it.
[00:42:20] I'm not knocking it.
[00:42:22] I was agreeing.
[00:42:23] It was just, it's one of those months.
[00:42:25] It's not strong, but it happens.
[00:42:28] Sony is still consistent in my opinion.
[00:42:32] So with that, when you talk about other problems.
[00:42:36] How do you keep curling your mustache
[00:42:37] like you're dying right now?
[00:42:39] I don't know how to.
[00:42:40] I saw it on the screen and I was like,
[00:42:41] oh, it's making shape.
[00:42:42] I'm gonna continue.
[00:42:44] She said.
[00:42:44] Oh my God.
[00:42:46] Oh my God.
[00:42:48] Anyway, so speaking of not being too excited
[00:42:51] of what's on the horizon,
[00:42:51] because we honestly don't know,
[00:42:53] you know, there's rumors of the state of play coming up.
[00:42:56] There's also rumors of a Nintendo Direct coming up.
[00:42:58] Cause frankly, the only even Nintendo game
[00:43:00] on the horizon that I'm even kind of looking forward to
[00:43:04] is Luigi's Mansion 2.
[00:43:06] And honestly, I'm still kind of rethinking
[00:43:09] maybe even picking that up at 60.
[00:43:11] Cause it is a DS title
[00:43:14] that they're just throwing on a switch.
[00:43:16] But with that said, Jason, what you been playing?
[00:43:23] I've been now working slowly on Final Fantasy.
[00:43:28] Been watching a lot of anime lately.
[00:43:31] Which I'll do that.
[00:43:33] I've been trying to catch up on JJK man.
[00:43:37] JJK.
[00:43:37] You're behind on JJK?
[00:43:38] Dude.
[00:43:39] Because we got...
[00:43:41] We had...
[00:43:42] I'm not familiar.
[00:43:42] Did you do Kaisen?
[00:43:43] Yeah, we watched the first season.
[00:43:45] You and I haven't watched that yet.
[00:43:47] Okay.
[00:43:47] But we watched the first season
[00:43:50] and then we're trying to figure out
[00:43:51] where to find the second season we found it
[00:43:53] and we're like, all right.
[00:43:53] It's on Crunchyroll man.
[00:43:55] It's on Crunchyroll?
[00:43:56] We don't have Crunchyroll.
[00:43:57] Bruh.
[00:43:59] $10 a month.
[00:43:59] Bruh.
[00:44:00] Bruh.
[00:44:01] Bruh.
[00:44:02] Get all the good stuff.
[00:44:04] But yeah, so we...
[00:44:05] You are going to love the end of season two.
[00:44:10] The question I'm trying to figure out right now is
[00:44:12] if JJK zero, if I should watch that now
[00:44:17] while I'm still at the start.
[00:44:20] Since I'm still at the start of season two,
[00:44:22] it seems fitting that I watched JJK zero
[00:44:26] because supposedly it is a prequel.
[00:44:28] What?
[00:44:29] Yes, it is.
[00:44:30] But since start of season two is prequel two zero,
[00:44:35] I would say watch zero.
[00:44:37] I think it's like after episode 12 of season two.
[00:44:42] Wow, wow.
[00:44:44] I would say watch it then.
[00:44:45] But yes, definitely watch zero.
[00:44:47] I feel like...
[00:44:48] Because you have to know the background.
[00:44:49] I want to get it right on the...
[00:44:51] You need to know the background of the main character
[00:44:54] in zero in order to really get the jaw dropping moment
[00:44:58] at the end.
[00:44:59] Man, it's okay.
[00:45:00] Just his loss so it's okay.
[00:45:02] So I mean, I've been watching JJK.
[00:45:04] It's good, man.
[00:45:05] Oh my God.
[00:45:07] I have no idea what you're talking about.
[00:45:10] It's really good.
[00:45:11] Hold on.
[00:45:13] I didn't start Jerry on the hardcore set.
[00:45:17] I mean, we did smartphone in another world
[00:45:21] and things like that.
[00:45:22] I still have to finish that.
[00:45:23] I finished one punch.
[00:45:26] That was good.
[00:45:28] Can I...
[00:45:29] Hold on.
[00:45:30] I got to just do something.
[00:45:30] We've been watching Jerry twirl his mustache straight
[00:45:34] and I figured out who he reminds me of now.
[00:45:37] Oh God, oh no.
[00:45:38] Who?
[00:45:39] Fucking Dick Dastardly.
[00:45:46] What?
[00:45:46] He races.
[00:45:49] Dick Dastardly and the...
[00:45:50] What was...
[00:45:51] ...Mutley's flying machine from like the eighties to sevenies.
[00:45:55] What show was that?
[00:45:56] Was that...
[00:45:57] Blackie Races.
[00:45:58] Oh, okay.
[00:45:59] I was gonna say Rocky and Bullwing.
[00:46:02] Go for a second.
[00:46:03] And all he sits there...
[00:46:05] The whole time he's sitting there twirling his fucking mustache.
[00:46:08] Every time he's talking and then his dog's just always laughing.
[00:46:11] Yeah, that's right.
[00:46:12] Yeah.
[00:46:14] Yeah, that's right.
[00:46:15] So I just had to do that because...
[00:46:20] So yeah, I've been watching that,
[00:46:21] you know, watching random shows here and there.
[00:46:27] But yeah, I've been working on Final Fantasy slowly.
[00:46:30] What about MHA, man?
[00:46:33] Please tell me you've been trying to work on some MHA.
[00:46:36] No.
[00:46:36] My hero academia, come on.
[00:46:37] Come on.
[00:46:38] I've been behind on that.
[00:46:39] I am like...
[00:46:41] Bro, season seven started.
[00:46:43] Yeah, I'm many arcs behind, sir.
[00:46:45] Like the last thing I remember was a little girl.
[00:46:50] I went to go rescue the little girl.
[00:46:52] Okay.
[00:46:53] She has a horns.
[00:46:54] Yeah.
[00:46:55] You know who I'm talking about.
[00:46:57] That's where I left off and I was like,
[00:46:58] yo, like we only stop some enemies
[00:47:02] only because we catch up and we're like,
[00:47:04] dude, cannot do this week to week thing.
[00:47:07] Like I need the binge.
[00:47:09] I'm the same.
[00:47:10] I wait for a couple episodes and then I watch.
[00:47:12] No, you need the binge, man.
[00:47:14] The binge, because a lot of these nowadays
[00:47:17] are just stopping on cliffhangers.
[00:47:19] And I'm like, I can't.
[00:47:20] I can't.
[00:47:23] Invincible.
[00:47:23] I've learned my lesson from X-Men 97 episode five.
[00:47:27] I've learned my lesson.
[00:47:30] But yeah, I've been working on Final Fantasy here and there.
[00:47:34] Nice.
[00:47:34] Getting close to the end of the...
[00:47:37] I'm at the mine shaft.
[00:47:38] The mine cart.
[00:47:41] The mine cart mini game.
[00:47:43] That's where I'm at right now.
[00:47:44] Literally that's where I'm at.
[00:47:46] All right.
[00:47:47] I hit chapter 10.
[00:47:49] It's okay, Jer.
[00:47:50] I'll beat you.
[00:47:51] Don't worry.
[00:47:52] Okay, we'll see.
[00:47:53] I need you guys to finish the story.
[00:47:57] Come on.
[00:47:57] I will see this thing.
[00:47:59] I will once I get to Gold Saucer and I can play mini games all day game over, dude.
[00:48:04] Like I am done.
[00:48:05] Like that is what my Final Fantasy is.
[00:48:08] I need to talk about the ending of the game.
[00:48:13] There's more important things, Jason, than the mini games.
[00:48:16] We've got to talk about it.
[00:48:17] There is not.
[00:48:17] There is not.
[00:48:18] There are so many games.
[00:48:19] I mean, I'm just going to put it out there.
[00:48:22] I'm sure if you really need that itched, scratched.
[00:48:27] There's always soldier, man.
[00:48:29] Oh, we'll get soldier on here and we'll just ruin the whole end of the game for Jason.
[00:48:34] If somebody dies, I get it.
[00:48:38] I understand that is the.
[00:48:39] It's how it's how the whole thing comes about.
[00:48:45] Yep.
[00:48:46] Just all of the whole thing unravels.
[00:48:48] So, Jerry, what else you would play besides Final Fantasy?
[00:48:53] I will admit I've taken a little bit more time on Final Fantasy.
[00:48:57] So, you know, democracy has taken a back burner for only for a couple of days.
[00:49:04] But I am still I am still fighting.
[00:49:08] Still fighting.
[00:49:09] What was your opinion on that whole PlayStation Helldivers to debacle?
[00:49:14] I did not agree with that.
[00:49:15] That was that was bull.
[00:49:16] And I do.
[00:49:17] I'm happy that they rescinded it because it didn't make any sense.
[00:49:21] It was pigeonholing PC players and like there's no point.
[00:49:25] OK, hold on.
[00:49:27] Hold on real quick.
[00:49:29] The fact that everybody's jumping on PlayStation for the same bullshit
[00:49:35] that Activision and Blizzard has been doing for years.
[00:49:40] Well, yeah, but PC.
[00:49:42] But hold on.
[00:49:43] Hold on. We don't get the same people crying and complaining.
[00:49:47] Oh, you you have to have a battle pass to play World of Warcraft.
[00:49:51] Oh, no, let's take them to the to the hilt with it.
[00:49:55] I think it's just more of.
[00:49:57] Well, that's why that's why they spoke up because they stopped before it got worse.
[00:50:02] It's because the developer ran their mouth.
[00:50:05] Arrowhead said, oh, yeah, you won't need the PlayStation account
[00:50:09] without actually speaking on, you know, Sony, actually Sony's behalf.
[00:50:14] That's I think that's the whole problem there.
[00:50:16] It's every other like steam, you have to have a steam account.
[00:50:21] Right. Yeah, those games. OK.
[00:50:23] You have to have a platform to play on.
[00:50:25] So it's the same with Blizzard.
[00:50:26] They had their own platform.
[00:50:28] You had to play it to have a PlayStation account to play.
[00:50:32] But you're forcing a PC player to have two accounts for one game.
[00:50:36] Is is a little weird.
[00:50:38] Yeah, yeah.
[00:50:39] That's what I'm saying.
[00:50:39] Like it was something they didn't need.
[00:50:42] It was still an option that they can do, but they didn't need to force it.
[00:50:46] Yeah, I think I remember. Remember, guys, blown way out of proportion.
[00:50:50] And also, yes, I do think it was blown out of proportion when it came to,
[00:50:53] like the severity of the situation.
[00:50:56] But I also do think the reason that everyone was at an uproar
[00:51:03] was to stop it before it got worse, because it could have gotten worse
[00:51:08] for them requiring more.
[00:51:09] Yeah, it would have gotten worse.
[00:51:11] But remember, guys, and I want you to take this, the nose, PC Master Race.
[00:51:16] No. OK.
[00:51:18] So I kind of cut out a little bit at least for me.
[00:51:21] You didn't quite get the PC Master Race.
[00:51:23] So here's what I think.
[00:51:24] I think it is a master race.
[00:51:26] If you're going to take the same energy at PlayStation,
[00:51:30] then you need to bring the same energy at Xbox
[00:51:33] when they start releasing games on every platform and require an Xbox account.
[00:51:38] Well, I mean, that we see that happening is it's going to be anything
[00:51:43] that they release is going to require a game pass.
[00:51:46] But they're communicating that beforehand.
[00:51:49] They the game has already been out and people have already been playing.
[00:51:52] And then all of a sudden they need no.
[00:51:54] So if they bring if they bring Halo Infinite to PlayStation or Forza,
[00:52:00] was going to be via game pass, though,
[00:52:02] you know, it's going to be via game pass.
[00:52:03] They're not going to do a disc release.
[00:52:06] OK, so then if they're going to do it that way,
[00:52:08] they're going to bring it via game pass and they're going to say,
[00:52:10] well, if you really want to play this on PlayStation,
[00:52:12] you're going to be required to have this product or this account
[00:52:18] from our platform to play it.
[00:52:20] Then people better have the same energy.
[00:52:22] That's what I'm just saying.
[00:52:23] It's like I feel I feel like those two situations are completely different,
[00:52:26] though. Yeah, you're still that by doing it with game pass,
[00:52:30] like due to the term, you're monopolizing the way
[00:52:35] to play the game versus kind of like in still lack of a better term,
[00:52:41] like being Indian giver by saying like, oh, here have this great game.
[00:52:45] Now there's a condition.
[00:52:46] You're changing the rules.
[00:52:47] That play rather than having the condition up front.
[00:52:50] So I feel like those two situations with Xbox versus
[00:52:52] Helldivers is completely different.
[00:52:55] It was their timing.
[00:52:56] If they did, if they pulled this, the release of Helldivers 2,
[00:53:01] I think it would have been the same kind of hoopla.
[00:53:04] But I still think they did it like way after a release
[00:53:09] and then started requiring it.
[00:53:11] That's that's when they was like, no, that's not right.
[00:53:15] I still think you're going to end up with regardless,
[00:53:18] no matter what they do it, because now they're talking about
[00:53:20] possibly goes to Shashima requiring it.
[00:53:23] I think it doesn't matter what it is.
[00:53:24] It's just the fact that PlayStation is requiring a PlayStation account
[00:53:28] and people are all but let us address that like this is actually
[00:53:33] this is I think that kind of the turning point when we're going to see,
[00:53:36] I mean, because there's no more competition on X on Microsoft side.
[00:53:42] So like this is kind of what we're I think we're what we're going to start seeing.
[00:53:47] You know, in future releases and in future,
[00:53:51] like, you know, more information.
[00:53:53] I think this is the start of it.
[00:53:55] And like, we're going to have to find another,
[00:53:59] you know, another happy medium and it's going to take time.
[00:54:04] I so since since Matt said it with the ghost of
[00:54:07] Shashima like I wouldn't be surprised.
[00:54:09] I feel like it's going to be either.
[00:54:11] No issues is going to be.
[00:54:12] So I didn't know I didn't know that.
[00:54:13] Teri games exclusive like Game of God of War and stuff being on PC.
[00:54:17] Is that they're like, they're like, oops, we made a mistake.
[00:54:19] We could have we could have made more money by just keeping it
[00:54:22] with having a PlayStation Plus account.
[00:54:24] Just like game passes making stuff as late as some money grab.
[00:54:28] But I see that.
[00:54:29] But at the same time, I still think that this promotes what Jason,
[00:54:34] I have said for PC mass races is just going to be like, it's the end of the
[00:54:38] console to be to be made.
[00:54:40] It's just going to be more companies making like smaller PCs
[00:54:46] that are affordable and probably cheaper than the console.
[00:54:50] And it will just game everything.
[00:54:53] Now, I don't think you're going to see an end of consoles
[00:54:55] just because there is that population of Mac users and stuff out there that.
[00:55:00] You know, can't play.
[00:55:02] I mean, if they do it right, you'll be able to play on Mac.
[00:55:05] Yeah.
[00:55:06] So yeah, it is for like everything will be especially if Mac learns
[00:55:11] to start using discrete graphics for once rather than on board graphics.
[00:55:15] But I don't think I don't see this as a massive problem.
[00:55:20] Like people are taking a little bit out of context,
[00:55:24] a little bit out of control, in my opinion, my eyes.
[00:55:28] Or is the wise yes, we do have so many different services, you know,
[00:55:32] that different companies are running that support their games.
[00:55:36] Blizzard has Battle.
[00:55:37] And you know, Square Enix has a mock station for all of our final fantasy stuff.
[00:55:43] You know, there's different games that have different services
[00:55:47] that you buy into that you create an account.
[00:55:51] You know, yes, it's going to be a double
[00:55:55] a double account, which is going to be annoying.
[00:55:58] The only annoying part is if you have to pay for both.
[00:56:01] That is that is the tough part right there.
[00:56:04] If you at least they said for hell divers, it was a free account.
[00:56:08] It didn't require placement.
[00:56:10] If it is a free account, yes, that is a double account
[00:56:12] that you have to log into two times.
[00:56:14] It is annoying.
[00:56:15] Yes. But at the same time, you're not paying for two.
[00:56:18] Once you pay for two, that's when it gets like, you know, like, no,
[00:56:23] that is that is unnecessary.
[00:56:25] One of you have got to give one of you's got to say, hey, you know what?
[00:56:30] It's going to be free if you play on, let's say, PlayStation 5.
[00:56:33] It's going to be free to play online
[00:56:36] because we're going to have something with Sony that says,
[00:56:40] hey, you give us this much will let you play our game online.
[00:56:45] We'll be cross platform.
[00:56:48] But hopefully it would just go to the extent
[00:56:50] and this you're like, maybe I'm just dreaming here.
[00:56:52] But hopefully it would just go to the extent of them
[00:56:54] just requiring you to start an account.
[00:57:00] I mean, that's that's sometimes all it is because
[00:57:04] if it's a free account, then go for it.
[00:57:06] Like I that's what I mean.
[00:57:07] That's what I'm hoping.
[00:57:08] But but I just want a single sign on if I'm going to have all these
[00:57:11] accounts, I want a single sign on. Yeah.
[00:57:13] I don't want to.
[00:57:15] I don't I'm not one of those days for a passport or anything.
[00:57:19] Like that. And I'm not going to do the same password
[00:57:22] for every fucking account.
[00:57:24] So I just need a single sign on. Yeah.
[00:57:26] Can you can you share what you're you're smoking there?
[00:57:29] Because I mean, PlayStation didn't really want to do cross platform
[00:57:33] to player anyways.
[00:57:34] You really think they're going to allow a single sign on?
[00:57:37] So I mean, anyway, it's for Final Fantasy.
[00:57:39] One of those all places.
[00:57:40] They can allow the single sign on
[00:57:41] if they're the primary platform for the single sign on.
[00:57:44] Like you every sign into your PlayStation account everywhere.
[00:57:49] I mean, anyway, that's that's what I've been doing.
[00:57:53] Well, the only one is because that's how it happened for me
[00:57:56] when I was playing Final Fantasy 14 on PlayStation 3.
[00:58:00] There was a time period where my computer was busted.
[00:58:02] And so I did have to do this exact same thing that you guys are talking about.
[00:58:06] I had to sign onto PlayStation Network and then sign on to Mog Station
[00:58:11] to play Final Fantasy 14.
[00:58:14] Again, it's not the fact that you have to pay for both.
[00:58:17] You have to say, OK, yes, PlayStation Plus, you do need to go online.
[00:58:23] You know, I get that.
[00:58:24] But I had it already and now you're paying for Mog Station.
[00:58:28] There is a little bit of like how much do you want to go about that?
[00:58:32] And again, it's it's nothing brand spanking new.
[00:58:36] It's just the fact that this game is so highly.
[00:58:41] In right now, it is beyond the flavor of the month.
[00:58:44] There's a flavor of the year, you know, where you it's not going away
[00:58:49] anytime soon, but it is attracting people where it's like, OK, I want to play.
[00:58:53] But I don't want to do this.
[00:58:56] And now that it's become to that point, that's when the developers
[00:59:00] and Sony have to come to an agreement like knowing this is what's going to happen.
[00:59:08] So other than Final Fantasy, I just downloaded Morrowind.
[00:59:14] So I'm going to try that.
[00:59:15] But yeah, yeah. Morrowind.
[00:59:18] Yeah. Oh, gee, I'll do that one.
[00:59:21] Oh, no, it's it's it was in it's a different game.
[00:59:26] It's independent.
[00:59:28] It's kind of the free ones, wasn't it?
[00:59:31] It was.
[00:59:33] But I kind of wanted to get it and try it out.
[00:59:36] So like you kind of travel on your ship going from island to island
[00:59:41] and doing kind of Zelda-esque little tasks.
[00:59:45] So yeah, so I'm going to try that out.
[00:59:49] All right, yeah, what's your point?
[00:59:53] Sadly, I've been a bad Destiny 2 player
[00:59:56] and I have not been playing and prepping for June 4th.
[01:00:01] So I'm really super behind on that.
[01:00:03] It's jumping everywhere on my feed, man.
[01:00:05] Like it like a lot of people are close.
[01:00:08] And there's like so much that I haven't done that I need to do.
[01:00:11] And just just Cades back like and all that.
[01:00:15] Oh, I mean, they said Cades back a long time ago.
[01:00:18] Yeah, yeah. But it's going to be insane.
[01:00:21] So I saw the Bungie developer video on that and they're doing the guns.
[01:00:26] The ViDoc like oh, the.
[01:00:29] It's not just one gun.
[01:00:31] There's a whole deck of them.
[01:00:32] The whole deck. Yeah.
[01:00:34] That's what they're doing for the first season.
[01:00:36] Yeah, that's going to be for you.
[01:00:38] Also, they're playing more into the background story of Cade,
[01:00:41] which is one of the exotics that is coming out is a gold gun sniper.
[01:00:48] So you you build up some kills.
[01:00:51] You do a reload action and it becomes the golden gun.
[01:00:56] So you can have golden gun on any character that you want.
[01:00:59] It's pretty cool.
[01:01:00] That's otherwise.
[01:01:01] Otherwise I've been sucking ass at cod with
[01:01:05] Matt and Harley and just getting my ass beat.
[01:01:09] But I did start I did start playing some tunic,
[01:01:13] which has been pretty sick.
[01:01:15] I like I like to Nick. It's cute.
[01:01:17] I like the I like the art style.
[01:01:19] It's it's one of those games that does not give you particularly much
[01:01:25] on direction on where to go with the game, which was which is nice.
[01:01:30] It is kind of oh, really?
[01:01:32] Sometimes it gets a little annoying to where they're like
[01:01:34] I'm going to the same places over and over because I don't know where the hell I'm going.
[01:01:38] But that's my own fault. So but no, I like it.
[01:01:41] I mean, Matt, you've been playing quite a bit and none of it is on my switch.
[01:01:48] What? Yeah, absolutely zero.
[01:01:52] Zero. That means they're like a one percent
[01:01:56] that is happening on the switch.
[01:01:58] I logged in on my switch to play Animal Crossing two weeks ago
[01:02:02] for like all five.
[01:02:04] Any other gaming activity going on on my switch right now is because the kiddos
[01:02:08] are borrowing my switch because I've got Smash Brothers and stuff loaded onto it.
[01:02:14] It I'm just right now it has been and it'll be the show.
[01:02:20] Six, 18 and 16 with my Rockies.
[01:02:25] I restarted my game file for Spider-Man 2
[01:02:30] because I have not played it since it launched.
[01:02:33] And I forgot some of the mechanics, so I said skirt.
[01:02:36] I'm starting over.
[01:02:37] That's how I am to it's been a while.
[01:02:41] I have been playing ex defiant and for me.
[01:02:49] It is way better than cod.
[01:02:51] Because I've only played one round and it's taking some getting used to.
[01:02:57] I think the gun mechanics are better.
[01:03:00] And the thing is, it is what's ex defiant again.
[01:03:03] What is what is the whole movie?
[01:03:04] So it's their multiplayer online game.
[01:03:07] It's like cod.
[01:03:08] It's from part of the old development team for cod
[01:03:11] is the team making ex defiant.
[01:03:14] It draws the theme.
[01:03:16] It's a shooter.
[01:03:18] Like it is basically cod.
[01:03:20] It's not like different modes.
[01:03:22] It's like control.
[01:03:23] I mean, it's kind of like you're looking at that right is
[01:03:27] think of it when we play Black Ops 3, right?
[01:03:30] And you had the different characters and each character had two separate
[01:03:33] abilities that they can get from.
[01:03:35] So think of that, but the characters are coming from within the Ubisoft universe.
[01:03:40] So you have the cleaners represent the vision right now.
[01:03:45] You have echelon, which is from Splinter Cell.
[01:03:49] You have the phantoms from Ghost Recon Phantoms.
[01:03:53] You have the Libre Thod from Far Cry 6.
[01:03:57] Right now, they're adding more factions and stuff like that.
[01:03:59] That's cool.
[01:04:01] It is they have a ranked match and they have casual.
[01:04:07] So casual is just anybody can go play in it doesn't matter.
[01:04:12] Where I think where we've been seeing the problem with cod lately
[01:04:15] is I found out that their matchmaking is based on a lot to do with
[01:04:19] like your KD ratio, which could be why we're
[01:04:23] we're actually falling into a lot of the try hard lobbies lately
[01:04:26] because my KD is a point nine five.
[01:04:30] Well, I could also guess we're on old servers, too.
[01:04:34] Yeah, but anyway, so.
[01:04:37] It is a lot of fun.
[01:04:39] I love it. There's, you know, there's the three zone
[01:04:43] like kind of capture the flag.
[01:04:45] There's just capture zones.
[01:04:47] There's escort the package, which basically you have a package
[01:04:49] you got delivered to the other end of the map.
[01:04:52] One side is defending to keep preventing the package from being delivered.
[01:04:56] The other team is trying to deliver it.
[01:04:57] And then basically after the round ends, whether you get the package there
[01:05:02] or time runs out, the other team gets a shot and all you have to do is be
[01:05:05] either the time or the percentage.
[01:05:08] So finally got the package 75 percent of the way there.
[01:05:11] We got 75 point one.
[01:05:13] Do you buy it or can you download it?
[01:05:15] Or is it free free to play completely
[01:05:18] and you can unlock everything through challenges.
[01:05:20] That's the great thing about this.
[01:05:22] It is not like Call of Duty where you basically have to buy,
[01:05:26] you know, check it out.
[01:05:27] It sounds pretty cool.
[01:05:29] That's really cool.
[01:05:30] Every gun, every faction character can be unlocked
[01:05:33] through very specific challenges.
[01:05:36] Sweet. So yeah, I'm loving that.
[01:05:40] I extra find extra find.
[01:05:43] Yep. And.
[01:05:47] I started another run through on the order
[01:05:50] because I was Jones and order.
[01:05:53] Wow.
[01:05:54] Bring it back old school, baby.
[01:05:56] 1886.
[01:05:57] Also, Brick sequel.
[01:05:59] Give Brick get us a sequel.
[01:06:01] Man, I'm actually working on an orc.
[01:06:02] We've been asked for that for a long time.
[01:06:03] Nobody wanted that.
[01:06:05] I mean, nobody wanted that.
[01:06:07] I haven't played it.
[01:06:08] Nobody wanted just like nobody just like nobody wanted.
[01:06:11] Did you not play the did you not play the demo at E3 with us?
[01:06:15] I did. I didn't play the demo.
[01:06:16] I thought it was awesome.
[01:06:18] Yeah, you didn't take good.
[01:06:20] It was it was a little too.
[01:06:21] Probably because it took them away from Final Fantasy for too long.
[01:06:24] Not at all. Not at all.
[01:06:26] It's just not I mean, at E3,
[01:06:28] he was thinking about Final Fantasy the whole time he was doing the demo.
[01:06:33] You get that shirt.
[01:06:34] And then lastly, we received we received a download code
[01:06:39] review code for the game.
[01:06:43] Bit trip runner.
[01:06:44] So I've been playing a little bit of that.
[01:06:45] It's a rhythm based side scroller.
