On this episode we discuss some of the major announcements from the Playstation State Of Play, Summer Gamefest, Ubisoft Forward, and Xbox Games Showcase.
[00:00:08] With that, I want to welcome everybody to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt Duario, your host as always. Tonight we're joined by the Be Need One, Gerard Barrera. What's up everybody? How's it going? That's
[00:00:24] right. It's another week, another gathering. We're missing our boy Theo again. It's okay, but we miss you. J Rock, love you bro. Happy to have you here. Happy to be with the boys. What's going on? Since Jerry took my normal intro. Yeah, I know right? Jesus Christ, Jerry.
[00:00:48] We're joined by our major DS services, The Man With The Couch, The Man, The Myth, The Legend, The Lion's Main, Jason Belardo. J Rock. There he is. How's it going guys? How's it going?
[00:01:00] Tonight I have glasses. It's okay. Don't worry. You know people, you break your glasses all the time. It's okay. It's a thing of life. You just, you know, get it repaired, get some
[00:01:11] super glue, get the old school duct tape. You know, you Harry Potter it, you tape it up and you keep going. If we Harry Potter'd it, I would have my glasses on because
[00:01:20] of the right low repair. Oh, you know, but you know, it's another night, a little sniffle too. So sorry about that guy. If I just go sniffle on the mic. It's all good, man. I think everybody's
[00:01:38] kind of getting over crap right now with all the fucking weather. All the other weather. It's just been crazy like allergies or continuing to fight it. I feel like I'm, I'm fighting it like, and still not getting it. So yeah. Nah, just like allergies for some
[00:01:53] reason, man. It's just been haywire this year. Like crazy. Yeah. Mine have not been great. So it's all right though. So we've got a lot to talk about tonight. Not going to lie.
[00:02:13] So it's everybody. Yeah, we took off last week just with everything going on in life and whatnot. So you know, now we're, we're back and we're coming into, we have a state PlayStation state of play summer game fast Ubisoft forward and the Xbox games showcase
[00:02:34] all the talk about tonight, which aptly this episode is titled. This should have been E3 week, which it should have. And yeah, you know, when we really look at it is we can really remember
[00:02:53] that it is should have been E3 week is because back in 2016, the day after my wedding, on June 12th, I was on a plane to Cali for E3 2016. That really was so great. Like,
[00:03:11] all right guys, I'll see you next week. And literally next week gone. So it was, so today though, Mark's my, and which is funny is right when we look at it, right? This is my eighth wedding anniversary today. Okay. Congratulations. So when we look at the grand
[00:03:33] scheme of things this week marks officially our 10 year friend anniversary. Oh my God. Wow. Think about that. Let's play those violins guys. Let's play those violins. You know, just got a tear to the eye now. That means we, one of us is older, but
[00:03:56] we go. But yeah, it's crazy to think about, you know, that 10 years ago was my first E3 that I ever went to. You know, it was what Theo's that was your first, it was 2014 was
[00:04:12] my first one. Yeah. No, really? Okay. Cool. So yeah, it's amazing to kind of just look at all this, but you know, let's kind of start, let's catch up real quick. How is everybody? Doing all right. I've been just working up a storm and kind of laying low
[00:04:40] and just trying to save and getting ready for getting ready for Comic-Con and getting ready for August. I can't wait to get you guys back out here. Yeah. Yeah. We're, which we got to
[00:04:51] talk about after we're done recording tonight so we can lock in some dates. Lock in the things other than that. I've just been, yeah, just been working and trying to, trying to knock out the backlog. I'm about to be Jerry though. It's okay. You know,
[00:05:13] I was, I was going to save it to the end of the show. I'm going to save it to the end of the show. Okay. We'll see. We'll see. All right. You see where you're at? Yeah,
[00:05:23] you know, I've been, I've still been playing. I haven't stopped. I'm about to finish chapter 10 sir. So I mean like, okay, shit. Yeah. I don't know where you at Jerry, but you know, time to take it. Well then never mind. We can actually get to talking.
[00:05:39] I don't mean to talk about nothing. Lay in, let's just go and get this started. So let's kick this off. We had state of play on May 30th. Of course that was just falling
[00:05:55] back the day before from my daughter graduating high school. So they started off with a game called Concord, which is from firewalk studios, which is one of their first party studios. They acquired firewalk a couple of years ago. The game is going to be coming out on
[00:06:13] August 23rd for PC and PS five. It is a five V five FPS along the lines of kind of like an Overwatch. Everyone's got their own like characters with own special abilities. They're gonna have 16 unique characters at launch. They didn't really have anything available as
[00:06:30] far as cost wise yet for when the game comes out. I'm guessing it's probably going to be, if it's not a free to play, it's gonna be $70. That's just guessing. If it's PC and PS five, it's got to be a little bit lower just because you know,
[00:06:44] it's unfair to have honestly a $70 game on PC. A lot of people aren't honestly, honestly going to play like pick it up if it's that much on PC. Yep. So next up, they announced that God of War Ragnarok is launching nine,
[00:07:01] the 19th of September on PC. It's going to include upscaling and super ultra wide monitor support. It's including the Valhalla DLC. And those that are that preorder it get access to the credo snow armor and the Atreus risen snow tunic.
[00:07:20] When I've, you know, it looked pretty from what they were showing. And I think it's great that they're bringing that to PC because I think more people playing the game is, you know, just beneficial for the studios themselves, which we'll talk about
[00:07:38] Microsoft a little bit later on everything they're doing. Then you had, and keep in mind, guys, I'm just grabbing the high, you know, that some of the highlights from each of these different shows that we're going to be talking about today because there was so much gaming
[00:07:51] content, especially out of there was a lot announced the Xbox game showcase and the and summer game fest. So anyway, so we've got Ballad of Antara. It's from tips work studios. They are part of the in fold games portfolio. It's going to release next year.
[00:08:10] It's going to be free to play and it's an action RPG that you can do up to three player multiplayer on, which I think is nice. I think more some of this some of the stuff that's a little bit
[00:08:23] more free to play is a little bit more engaging for people, especially look at the economy right now and how inflation is hurting everybody. You don't necessarily have the money to pay for, you know, PlayStation online plus like what is it the
[00:08:41] Mogpass or whatever it is for like Final Fantasy 16. You know that costs, you know, a bit there and you've got Elder Scrolls online that, you know, that's a subscription based one. So
[00:08:53] having free to play is great. They did say that post launch they plan to add new emissaries zones as well as the continuation of the story. So they're planning on supporting it well after the fact. So hopefully, you know, they'll make enough off of whatever
[00:09:11] micro transactions are going into the game to basically support the development on that. Then you did have this one makes me wish I actually had a PlayStation VR to alien rogue incursion. The trailer was fantastic. It made me like kind of feel like I was in alien
[00:09:33] don't look like, you know, with them showing the armor, the different weapons here in the pulse right full like everything sounded like Chris. It was cool. Yeah. And then seeing the alien warrior just right there going, Hi, I'm gonna kill you.
[00:09:49] You know, it's coming from a company, a studio called service. It will be out this holiday. It is using the Unreal Engine five, which is impressive. It'll be a new storyline in the alien
[00:10:05] universe. So for VR to fans, I think that's going to be a good kind of like horror ish sci fi title for them to enjoy. And it made me feel like when I was watching the trailer,
[00:10:17] it didn't feel like I was in quote unquote, like a VR scape like you've seen like, as much as I love gorilla and horizon, just the way the hands were positioned, it made you feel like you know, you were you were definitely in virtual reality, whereas this
[00:10:32] was it felt a lot tighter. And that might be because of Unreal five, you know. So with that, you also have where wins meets from Everstone studio, there was no launch date.
[00:10:49] The best way to describe this was it's the story is what they call a wuxia style game. So it's in the style of think crouching tiger hidden dragon. That whole genre of movies and stuff like that, that are all that, you know, fantasy type
[00:11:11] action sequences, the wire type action sequences. So it's gonna be set in the five dynasties and 10 kingdoms era of Chinese history. So they're, they are going to be leaning into historical events from what it looks like. So that one seemed kind of interesting. I was like,
[00:11:30] that might be one I might consider, like taking a look at more as we get information on it. Then you had until dawn. It's already been out. Yes, this is the the piece, PC and PS five remake. I don't get this. I don't understand.
[00:11:53] I do a business standpoint, why not try and squeeze some more money out of another reboot? Or why not just make a new game that is? Yeah, I understand. But I get the business
[00:12:05] because this the studio that made it went off and they're making their own games now. Yeah, I know. But I get like you can, you don't have to use the exact same like characters per se,
[00:12:18] you know, like, yeah, it'd be cool because then you have this like part two horror thing. But you can make similar games like this. So it's not unheard of. You know, but it's it also makes sense because, you know, within the last couple years,
[00:12:33] I mean, a lot of older games have gotten resurgence. This is one of them. I mean, this has been strange. I don't see the I don't see where the demand was for it. Yeah, exactly.
[00:12:45] There was no other. It was like a niche like demand. But I mean, I'm with you. I don't understand. But I get why they did it. This is the thing though. It wasn't even a major
[00:12:58] title that like, you know, like Red Dead 2, getting that remastered. Sure, no problem. You know, this was that makes sense. This was old, got remastered. Now it's getting remade and had like a niche like cult following. Like it was at this point,
[00:13:16] you might as well have remade Killzone or the original Uncharted. Jack and Daxter, you know, puts money in there. But older Ratchet and Clank's. Stop. Hey, just don't get I don't get it. Yeah, I don't get with with it coming to
[00:13:35] I understand the move. I mean, with it coming to PlayStation Plus Premium, you know, heck, Sly Cooper remake that game, right? You have way more of a demand for that. Hey, you have remore. You have more of a demand for Legend of Dragoon. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
[00:13:54] You know, so bring remake that bring that to the table. Right. So speaking of remakes, another title that was announced during the state of play was Silent Hill 2. I wasn't surprised at this one either. Yeah, I never got into it. We knew it was
[00:14:11] being it was in the pipe and whatnot. It looks amazing. Yeah. These horror games, I I admit they do need reboots or the agreed because there really haven't been great like straight horror games, which makes sense of the the Resident Evil remakes, like why there's
[00:14:33] such a demand for them. I get the Silent Hill 2 as well. Like there's a demand for these kind of games. There really haven't been really good straight horror games lately. These are okay because think of the pixelation that you had when you brought these games out.
[00:14:51] Oh, yeah. And that's why like these just saying it's a perfect storm because there's the need for these kind of games. And it makes sense to bring back some of these great classics that clearly need it.
[00:15:05] And there's a want for it. So these make sense. These for sure definitely need like a reboot or remaster just because of again how pixelated they were when it came out.
[00:15:16] And they were so good back then. Oh, yeah. They still got you out of your seat back then. Even better now where you have so much more effects that you can put in or things that were supposed to be like this. We're supposed to be there.
[00:15:32] But because of limitations could not, you know, like there are a lot more in which I wish they could remake. A lot of them, you know, Dino Crisis, old school, which that thing's on the back. Parasite Eve, those I wish came back.
[00:15:49] Man, oh man, you're really good. There are so many. You're making it in that vault. Yeah, there are so many from the PlayStation 1 vault where if they remastered those, those would be big hits already because one, the people that played them that know
[00:16:05] are going to be like, oh my God. And the ones that didn't play them, they're going to see this was like, oh my God, what is this? Something for the first time. Yeah. Trying it for the first time just like Final Fantasy for a lot of players.
[00:16:17] Final Fantasy 7 best case scenario in this example. Yeah, you have the old school pixelated one. Now you have the new school pixelated one. It's not a one-to-one, which again, fine. You don't need a one-to-one. That's fine. You could be a little up in the air.
[00:16:37] I'm almost done, but I'm still a little more up in the air with what the remakes have been doing or rebirths have been doing. But these games are just going to be like, oh my God,
[00:16:51] these are what kind of games they had back in the day, but they just didn't have the processing power to make it that much better. They always had more potential, but they were just like limited by the time.
[00:17:05] Oh yeah. So yeah, I absolutely get Silent Hill being remade 100%. So I compare it like Silent Hill, absolutely 100% people have been screaming for the remakes on that. You go back to Until Dawn, not so much. Really? Because at this point you're just...
[00:17:21] Honestly, at that point, you could have just done a PS5 patch. Yeah. Yeah. Because the game looked great even on the PS4. So you just patch it for the PS5. You don't need to actually remake it. So Silent Hill 2 is going to be coming out
[00:17:38] October 6th with that. So we're just in time for Halloween too. So it's perfect timing on that. Then you had Monster Hunter Wilds announced. It is coming in 2025. It is going to be coming out for PS5, Xbox Series X and S and PC.
[00:18:01] Which please if it's cross-platform, that's going to be a bang. I haven't seen anything about being cross-platform yet, but you know... That's a possibility. Fingers crossed, man. We're seeing more and more of that. One day we're going to have the Unity.
[00:18:18] Now for me, up until this point on the state of play, because there's a couple we skipped over and stuff like that. But overall, up until this point, I would have given this state of play a C.
[00:18:32] It was very lackluster to me. Nothing really stood out, especially leading into... Summer Game Fest happening in two weeks. You'd think you'd have a little bit more there. But what did excite me out of everything is Astrobot. He's getting his own full-fledged game.
[00:18:53] When we talk about listening to the demand, until Dawn, we talked about there wasn't really demand there. Astrobot, there have been people calling for his own full-scale game since Rescue Missions on the VR. And even more so after Playroom launched with the...
[00:19:15] So Team Asobi and PlayStation have heard us. They are coming out with the game. It's September 5th. Now when I made this slide, we were possibly looking at recording last week and then we decided we're just going to take the week off. So Friday pre-orders opened up
[00:19:34] for Astro's Playroom. They're just going to have a standard physical copy that is going to be in the stores. There's going to be standard digital and then there's going to be a digital deluxe
[00:19:44] edition. So real quick, I will pull it up for us here. We can talk about just a couple of... I'm excited for this one just because as you know, a lot of people have played... Well,
[00:20:02] obviously because it comes with the PlayStation 5, you get all the features that the PlayStation 5 is supposed to give you. And I think it was the best game just like how Nintendo Sports, Nintendo One Two Switch, those games, they kind of give you that feel of what can be...
[00:20:27] Why are you buying this versus others? It's kind of that little demo tester. And when you turned it into a game, Astro's Playroom, dude, so many people just loved it because you can just
[00:20:43] mosey around. It was a good game. Aesthetically, it was amazing to look at the feel from the controllers and stuff like that too. Oh my God, wrap a skin. All right. So real quick, so the physical standard edition with the pre-order bonuses,
[00:21:01] you're getting the full game, physical poster, Parappa, Love Truck lyrics outfit, dual speeder colors. It's a glorious graffiti and you're getting two avatars. Cool. Mr. Parappa bought alone, dude. Now the digital standard edition is going to be you're getting the full game outfit,
[00:21:23] the speeder and the avatars. The deluxe edition now, you're getting 12 avatars, you're getting the soundtrack plus a digital art gallery. You're getting three different speeder colors. Outfit wise, you're getting Parappa, you're getting the Yarnham Hunter,
[00:21:42] and you're getting the Golden Skin plus the game. So that is going to be well worth it. If I remember correctly, it is 60 for the standard and then 70 for the deluxe. So that's not terribly bad. And the pre-order is now open and live on that now. So
[00:22:07] yeah. So I will be getting that. Chances are I'll have to get two copies. So I have to put it on two different consoles because at some point we have to have two copies because we are having that game being played on two different systems right now
[00:22:32] at the same time sometimes. So the boys are playing on my wife's system, I'm playing on mine sometimes. So the other thing that did drop also is that there's new content that have been updated into Astra's playroom now. There are now four hidden bots.
[00:22:52] They've now there's four new trophies or sorry. Yeah, there's new trophies for it. You have to find four bots within the game. It adds on a whole separate area now as well
[00:23:02] that kind of has a portal in it. It's a secret lab area that has a portal that you can go to the PlayStation Store to pre-order the game. There's new collectibles. So there's a VR2. There's the accessibility controller and whatnot. And the new PS5s and whatnot.
[00:23:21] Oh, the swarms. Sweet. Yeah. So yeah, it does add some stuff. The first bot, the hidden bot was unlocked. For the public last week, I still need to, I'm still trying to figure out when the new three,
[00:23:38] the other three are going to be unlocked. They only did one so far. So I think it's probably going to be timed to kind of unlock them as you get closer to the game since we're three
[00:23:49] months out from it. So yeah, if you probably time they probably whenever like two weeks each Yeah, two weeks, maybe three weeks for a month. Like as, you know, as it gets closer to the launch date. Yep.
[00:24:04] Yeah. So with that though, I'm excited for it because it looks fantastic. There's game back to what we talked about is there's eight galaxies, 80 levels, 15 new abilities, 70 new types of enemies. You're going to come across characters from the PlayStation catalog.
[00:24:21] So in the trailer, you got to see, you know, a journey reference. You saw Nathan Drake, you saw Kratos, you know, all in that kind of like it felt a lot like Little Big Planet
[00:24:32] and Sackboy. You got to see them in bot form because there are so many bots that if you knew, you knew. Yep. And even you look at the picture, right? There's Aloy, you know, you see him. So you know who they are. It's kind of like
[00:24:46] playing on what we saw in Ash's playroom with all the different scenes that they you know, respect to the PlayStation history. Yeah. All the scenes. Yeah. Yep. So then with that on June 7th this past Friday, we had summer game fast, which this time Jeff Keighley
[00:25:06] knocked it out of the park. So he had there roughly 30 ish announcements. You know, I only grabbed a few of them because some of the announcements were on other, you know, were on
[00:25:15] Xbox's plot, you know, or Ubisoft forward. But where I have to give props to Jeff Keighley is that unlike the game awards where everybody knocked him about talking about the the layoffs and everything, he opened the show talking about it. So it was calling out that, you know,
[00:25:38] for right now, you know, the way the game industry is and stuff like that, if you find you know, a game that you're interested in, you know, preorder wish list it, you know,
[00:25:47] send it to a friend, let them get interested, you know, those sorts of things. But he did talk briefly about, you know, at the start of the show just about the layoffs, which I think
[00:25:56] was great. It really surprised me because you didn't say anything about it last year. But I think we look at the grand scheme of things. At this point, a lot of people are just like, who cares if these platform holders care? You know what we're talking about, because
[00:26:12] we do have to bring, you know, some attention to these layoffs. This is a massively lucrative industry making a ton of money and they're laying people off. You know, but a lot of people also don't understand some that brought up on Twitter conversations that also too,
[00:26:29] as some of these layoffs are because these studios felt that COVID revenue was going to be the new norm. So they upstab, you know, they start creating all these games, getting all these games in the pipeline, which we all know games take two, three, four,
[00:26:46] five years to make. Right. And now they're releasing those games and realizing nobody has the money to, you know, to put it in and stuff like that. So but so getting into some of the big ones he kicked off the show with Lego Horizon Adventures.
[00:27:07] This one is probably everybody because it's coming to coming to Switch as well. I was kind of surprised at this one because well, oh no, I'm sorry. It's not that Toys R'lyfe is just their game. Yeah,
[00:27:21] that's it's just a Lego game, which games have been on all three systems. Yeah, that makes sense. However, in this case is Xbox is being left out in the cold and it is and I think it's because you don't right now you don't have a PlayStation character
[00:27:41] on the Xbox yet. Yes, you have them will be the show, but you don't have like God of War Horizon or any one of those characters. You know, I mean, so you steal my I mean,
[00:27:53] I wouldn't say steal, but if you acquire a former PlayStation character, I mean, it's not that far off, man. Talk about crash. Of course, I'm talking about crash, man. You know, I mean, I guess.
[00:28:10] Bob is their own company now. I mean, I guess all they've done in the fair now because, you know, at some point, you know, PlayStation has acquired former Xbox character as well.
[00:28:24] So I mean, like, I guess all's fair. But yeah, I think honestly, this would have been one that would have been good. Just put it on all the consoles. Like, I don't care. Yeah,
[00:28:33] it's a Lego. Great. Why not? It would have been fun for everybody. Yeah, but I also understand it too. But the fact that they're putting it on the Switch is kind of an interesting thing
[00:28:43] because what does what does PlayStation have in the pipe that could be going to be porting over to the Switch? You know, with Switch 2 and whatnot. So it is coming out on holiday. I'm going to be getting this game because it's fucking horizon.
[00:29:05] And I have the freaking Lego tall neck. You're welcome. I have to have the neck. I have to have the game to go with, you know, with it and whatnot. So I'm very curious on like how
[00:29:15] fun it's going to be. So I will be looking forward to your review on it because yeah, I'm sure it's going to look cool. Like it's I already have like an interest in seeing it
[00:29:26] because that world in Lego, that's going to be cool. Oh yeah. That's pretty cool. To your point though, how fun is it? Because honestly, for me, any of the Lego games I've
[00:29:39] picked up, I've played them for a couple of weeks and then poof, like I don't pick them up ever again. It was the same thing with the Lego Skywalker saga. You know, I picked
[00:29:50] up, okay, played it for a little bit and that was it. Like I haven't gone back to play it at all. So we'll see. Then you had black myth Wukong. This is one I'm waiting for. Comes out August
[00:30:06] 20th. August is loaded because yeah, we'll get to what else is coming out in August here here shortly. But it's coming out to PS5 and PC. This one looked really, really cool.
[00:30:18] Yeah. So I probably won't pick it up day of, but it would be, you know, it'll be interesting to see how it does. You have Alan Wake 2. So on this show, we have a divided staff in that some
[00:30:39] of us are all digital. Some of us are all physical. Alan Wake 2 kind of got knocked in the beginning that it was an all digital title. Well, ladies and gentlemen, it is coming to physical editions this fall. There we go. Yes. Here here. And they dropped,
[00:31:00] you know, Sam was there to announce that night Springs, the DLC dropped on Friday and like, it looks cool because it brings in the remedy game. So Ashmore, I can't remember which brother it is, but the one that was in quantum break,
[00:31:23] Sean, no, or one of the two. Anyways, one of the twins that was in quantum break is in the DLC. You had what's her face from control in the DLC. So it's like they're kind of bringing an all
[00:31:37] into bringing the worlds together. Cool. Cool. So, and then finally ending the show is valor is coming to consoles. Wow. Both cons both. Yes, it is coming console. So that's huge, right? Forever valorant's been on PC only. And now it is going to be joining
[00:32:06] the consoles. And I think that's a great opportunity for him. I mean, like, absolutely. If you put that into aspect of like how apex legends blew up because it correct from PC to
[00:32:16] consoles. Oh my God, this is going to be the same thing for valorant. It's only just going to get them better. It's only going to get them more publicity, more, more people play.
[00:32:26] And it's had staying power. Yeah. So I mean, it's going to be crazy. It's going to be good. I mean, like shout outs to riot for that. Good on them. But I mean, I'm just still looking
[00:32:39] for project or I'm sorry, 2KL. Whatever it is. Yeah. All right. So we had Ubisoft forward, which was yesterday. They kind of ended off the ended all the game like you said,
[00:32:57] there's stuff like that because I mean, there was also IGN live this weekend too. So it was like, it was really, really heavy. I mean, good on you. You three for shutting down. So
[00:33:07] they're all these, you know, walk so they can run, but you three did not do their thing. This year. This, this, this could have been a three, like all presser again, like how it
[00:33:17] was. And that's why I, that's why I named it that this should have been E three weeks. But so they've, they kicked off the show with an extended look at Star Wars outlaws coming in
[00:33:31] August on the 30th. I was, I loved it. I'm not going to lie, but it was frustrating after seeing it. I am going to be getting it, but I'm going to get the base. I'm going to get the base edition. I'm just getting the base edition too.
[00:33:44] Julian and Ubi, I love you guys, but I'm not going to pay an extra $30 to unlock a level like a mission. I'm just not like, I've, yeah, I've got so much going
[00:33:57] on right now, especially with, you know, I've got fan Expo in Denver coming up 4th of July, which now just got more expensive because they announced four more actors from supernatural are going to be there. So you've got Ruthie who plays Rowena. You've got the guy who played
[00:34:16] Jack. You've got Jim Brewer who plays our Jimmy Ver who plays Bobby. And then you've got Mark Sheppard who plays Crowley. Oh, Jared Padalecki. Yeah. So they're gonna have a big old thing and whatnot, dude. The team up
[00:34:35] photo is $435 to get a picture with all five of them. However, Theo, my wife and I, we are going to split it three ways. Oh, nice. Okay. Oh, cool. Anyway, so Julian, Gary, you did come out and talk about the game. It was great seeing him and
[00:34:57] whatnot. Something I still keep in touch with him. You know, we've had him on talk about the division two and whatnot. And then after that, they had X Defiant, which is the new free to play,
[00:35:12] which is currently in preseason right now because they've been basically putting it through its paces, making some little updates here and there prior to season one. But we are officially getting the kickoff of season one. I have put this little thing in their embargoes.
[00:35:30] It's actually embargoes lift on seven one. The reason I'm kind of putting that in there is because there is going to be a press event, press preview event for season one that is happening on the 25th and 26th. And we have been invited to it. I've already
[00:35:53] talked to the PR guys. We sent over the invite. I will be signing the NDA. So we will be able to talk a lot more about all the all the in-depth stuff after the first of the month.
[00:36:07] I look forward to it. As we all know, I am a huge division fan and X Defiant is freaking amazing. It's not quite a cod killer, but for me, it's a cod killer. I'm having way more fun
[00:36:21] with it. But we'll talk about that when we, you know, a little bit here when we talk about the games we've been playing. But they did announce the GSK from Rainbow Six Siege is
[00:36:30] going to be joining as one of the factions. They're going to add a capture the flag mode, which is great because they've got, you know, domination. They've got, you know, capture. They've got escort, you know, already. So they're introducing a ranked reward system.
[00:36:48] We're getting three new guns and we're getting three new maps. It's going to be one per month. So I'm very much looking forward to that. Looking forward to the press event. It's going to be similar to our coverage for the division resurgence, you know, where we'll have
[00:37:03] some info. We'll be able to share about it. Plus we'll be able to enter. I'm going to be sitting down and interviewing the developers on the 26th. So we'll have some interview information there.
[00:37:15] All righty. And then they did announce, you know, they kind of did a skull and bones thing. You know what? We made fun of it. You know, it's come a long way, you know,
[00:37:32] it still feels like black flag, you know, but they're in season two now. And that means they've got enough of a base of players that are enjoying the game and enough to make a season
[00:37:46] two. Right. Especially when you look at, right. Sea of Thieves has gone PlayStation five. You know, you've got that alternative as well. Still different because you're still a character in first person view this year. Still just the ship. I mean, anyways,
[00:38:04] Hey, Jerry, Jerry, stop laughing at a Drupal a title game, sir. I'm, um, but no, I seriously though, I do. I do want to give some kudos to that team though, because they persevere through all of that bullshit. Like I've had to basically
[00:38:25] brand and rebuild and all of that to the point where they're now on a season two. So I do want to say kudos to that team. Good for them because you had to overcome so much
[00:38:36] just to get that game to a launch, right? How many delays they pretty much weathered the storm. You know, I don't know what else you could do with this man over here telling dad jokes and I'm the dad. Hey, wait, when it comes to this, like,
[00:38:52] I get it. Like, you know, again, I'm not, it's I'm shocked that they perceived it as a quadruple A game. You know, I get that you have a lot of investments, a lot of people playing it, but don't do that to yourself. Don't shoot yourself in the foot.
[00:39:18] But you are so part of that course of havoc though, they're getting new rewards that are time limited, you know, festive events. So they're doing dragons, regatta, summer fiesta. They're also bringing ship upgrade, new ship upgrades and fleet management
[00:39:34] to the game. So it was just announced too with a teaser trailer. Black Flag is getting rebooted and coming back. I mean, like, why would you shoot your quadruple A teaser trailer is out? Like it's getting remastered. Why, why, why Ubisoft don't make another
[00:39:57] competitor for a competitor of your game? What are you doing? That's what I thought was so funny. Yeah, it's getting remastered. Make a DLC where you can get the Black Flag ships
[00:40:07] or you can get the Black Flag. Oh, DLC. There you go Ubisoft. You made 100 million right there. Boom. Now you can call yourself a quadruple A game. It's okay, but it's okay. We'll see because
[00:40:23] it hasn't been confirmed by Ubi and some of these things that are out there in the wild, these are fan generated stuff. Possible. Well, I'm looking at an article about it. Now that being said, what's the next slide? Well, no, if they do bring back Black Flag,
[00:40:40] I'm buying it. It's my favorite because they're pushing this one. Yeah, King of Assassin's Creed shadows coming out November 15th. We got to see gameplay. So there was gameplay during Ubisoft forward and there was a longer trailer during Xbox
[00:41:01] game showcase. So a lot of people are still kind of pushing back on that. You have an African American samurai, which the team did their research and there actually was an African American samurai in Japan at the time the game takes place.
[00:41:19] So get off, please. Ubisoft does their research when they do their pieces. That's what they're known for. That is why Assassin's Creed Origins is being used in Egyptian studies classes. I mean, any Assassin's Creed outside of the main canon, let's say.
[00:41:44] Has been used for freaking everything. I mean, they go to the T. You could go to which street you're going to go to. Unity, they use it as a schematic for another game.
[00:41:57] Yeah. Thank you. I was just about to bring that up. Like, hey, I know where this is because I've been playing Unity. Oh, hey, I know where this is because Origins like Tom. And they
[00:42:06] do the same thing though with the division, right? With division one and two, they're using legit. So they do their research and sometimes yes, you don't necessarily have the same character of a real person in game, but they do their research on their history and everything to make
[00:42:27] these games. Yes, they're just a story, but they fit historically. Honestly, I would give the gameplay video a try. It's definitely one or the other. So like the girl assassin, it's all stealth and it's awesome. And then with the samurai, you're a boulder. You're
[00:42:56] just crashing through everything. So it really is kind of a yin and yang play on things. I think that kind of balance is going to give the player a good, like a healthy, like,
[00:43:09] okay, I'm done with the stealth. Like, yeah, let's just, I'm ready to just kill stuff. I think it's going to give them a good balance and we'll see. We'll see how good it does. All right. Let's talk about this Xbox game showcase.
[00:43:23] Like randomly, you know, like please have a time acceptable name. Don't put it like, oh, this is Duncan. All right. So to all the listeners, you know, we're predominantly our PlayStation with some switch in there and whatnot. And we do talk about Xbox when it's
[00:43:42] well-deserving and I need to give Xbox a, you know, Bill Spencer, Sarah Bond, Matt Booty, a huge shout out to this showcase because this is one of their best showcase in years. And we actually, you know, were there at the Microsoft theater in 2019 to go out on that
[00:44:03] show floor that they had set up where they did their presentation to see some of that stuff. And it, it that's great. So here's all the games they announced. So 24 plus another six.
[00:44:17] So you get 30 games starting off with the black ops six, which is coming to all platforms Phil Spencer's mouth day of day one, all platforms on 10 25 because he, they're pushing the narrative of everybody deserves a play. So all these games have
[00:44:38] historically been on other platforms are staying there. But here's the thing with black ops six. So we all know anybody who's played Todd knows how big those fricking installs are and how much it takes up. I saw somebody tweeted out a picture of the pre-install
[00:45:00] or what the pre-install files are looking like. And it was like 220 gig. There are rumors that this is going to be a 300 gig install. Sure. I mean, if you only play Call of Duty, you know, that's fine. Yeah. Like
[00:45:18] you're ain't playing anything else, especially if you have got a series S. Well, I mean, we're, we're, we're, we're, we're different kinds of gamers. You know, like I said, I've never been an FPS person. So, you know, I don't have to worry about 300.
[00:45:32] I don't have to worry about my entire hard drive being giving an idea. X defiant is only like 50 gig. So we'll see. It looks great. They're putting some new mechanics into the game, allowing you to like, to fall back on your back and slide back and
[00:45:51] shoot. Um, you know, assume move mechanics on that. So the full 360 like movement that you can like, yeah, it's supposed to be way more fluid and yeah. And it's, it is Treyarch. It's Treyarch and Raven doing it. So they are the, they are the team,
[00:46:12] you know, that's their all stars. So I will see what happens with it. Um, but he also had a Indiana Jones and the great circle. Uh, they just said it's coming in 2024. They gave extended play on it. I'm sorry. I cannot separate Troy Baker, like tribute,
[00:46:30] you know, his voice and everything and, and, and Indy, it just, it's not, I'm not feeling any part of it. Is it a VR game or was that a full flesh? That's the way it is. It is in, it is in first person. It's a first person.
[00:46:43] Okay. And let until you do the cut scenes in the rope scenes, then it's in third person. Anything else that's in first and that, that it's Indiana Jones. Let us fucking see Indy. It's got to be third person. It's going to be a third person
[00:46:56] type of adventure game. Like, I mean, dude, if you're going to do the OG, it's gotta be like an uncharted game. Like, I mean, come on. I mean, that's uncharted Tomb Raider, you know, exactly. I mean, yeah. Um,
[00:47:12] the first person is interesting. That's, that's quite the direction to go. Um, so yeah, doom the dark ages and fable. Those were some good, they look great and they're coming next year.
[00:47:24] Um, and that was the thing is most of the stuff that was announced during their game showcase was either coming this year, coming next year, you know, there's a couple out there that are,
[00:47:35] you know, no dates yet, which talking about that, um, you know, you've got metal gear, solid Delta snake eater was announced, which, which looked gorgeous. Can't wait. Oh, can't wait. Dude. I mean, honestly, when I look at these 30 games, dude, honestly, four of them really pop
[00:47:58] out, which I'm kind of excited for, for Xbox to actually finally pull it. What are the four that pop out to you? Metal gear, solid Delta. Okay. Which I think that's going to be probably PlayStation as well. They just probably going to be, but I mean like just
[00:48:17] announcing it alone is wow. Yeah. It's like a one perfect dark, dark. Okay. Let's talk about dude perfect dark looks fricking amazing. Yeah. Very great game that was always in the shadow the initiative. Like always it needed to be its own thing and I'm glad that they're redoing
[00:48:40] it. Hopefully they make that up. The trailer made it look good. It's going to be interesting. Let's see how it gets executed. Yeah. Yep. Uh, the third one, a trailer started it off well age mythology for PC again, you know, like that is the classic game that is,
[00:48:57] that is the game that everybody has played at least once everybody in the entire world has played at least once, you know, that game will never die, you know, like, so, it was a fun computer game. Yeah. And then for fourth one, Diablo four, you know, like it,
[00:49:16] the expansion it will deal for when it was on PC just got was a little bit too much, but if they have it just like a, as a console kind of game, Oh, that's, that's actually more fitting.
[00:49:29] I think Blizzard needed to lower itself down to that console game because you know, Diablo four was just too expanded, but now if you just read it a little bit and just put on console,
[00:49:44] I mean, yes, this is probably going to be on PC as well, but you bring it to the console, like the console gaming experience with dungeon crawlers, a lot more like handheld,
[00:49:54] a lot more feel. And of course about like, I mean, I think that's going to be their, their ace in the hole for sure. So real quick, so you also have gears of war E-Day.
[00:50:08] Oh my God. Which that looked great. You see a young Marcus Fenix and Dom, you know, and whatnot. Also doom the dark ages. Phil Spencer has also come out and said that one's
[00:50:23] going to be on all platforms that doom is normally been on. So that's going to be coming to PlayStation. And then that one looked like just pure fun. And this is where I have to knock EA.
[00:50:36] You have dragon age, the veil guard announced it's coming out this year for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. That trailer was shit. Yeah. A lot of people were not Taylor. Like what's even
[00:50:50] worse is people, people have gone hands on with that game and say it is like night and day that trailer versus what the gameplay is. And they've said the gameplay is more like traditional dragon age. So EA, what the, Oh, what are you doing? Because you know,
[00:51:12] we've been, everybody's waiting for so long for a dragon age to come back. And you know, that's another one everyone's been screaming for renamed and rebranded to veil guard. And you give us that trailer. So hopefully we get something better. But for me, the games
[00:51:31] that really stand out is we all know what black ops. Yeah. That's it's black ops. It's a blood surviving like, but for me, right? I think the bigger heavy hitters are going to
[00:51:48] be, you've got gears of war from the coalition. The fans, the Xbox fans have been waiting for gears of war for a long time now. Oh man. Yeah. And I think bringing it back to its origins and like, Hey, this is how it all began.
[00:52:06] Is monumental because I think it's the perfect move that that's the only move they could have done because that's the one thing all of us fans have always like, dude, like I want to know what happened on E-Day. Like that's the biggest setup that they made.
[00:52:19] Yeah. And it's, this is the perfect move for them to kind of reboot the franchise. For those rebooting it though. Cause I mean, if you have or trying to, or trying to rebrand it or the whole thing, like what do we, it's a toss up.
[00:52:37] I don't think it's, it's a talk. You're right. It's a toss up. It's either going to be a rebrand or they're rebooting where the beginning day and then there might be the that, that, that game series, you know, because it's your,
[00:52:53] you're coming full circle at this point. We'll have to see what, how it does right. If it doesn't do like they expect it to, then it could very well be the last one in
[00:53:03] the series, right? Or it could blow up and they go, well, maybe we need to go back to Gears of War one, two, three, remake those in the vein of final fantasy.
[00:53:15] You know, go back and put in what we need to wanted to put in maybe retcon some stuff, whatever it is. But I think the other things that stand out for me, right. Is, is fable. We're getting another trailer. That was a great trailer.
[00:53:30] It was fantastic. I loved playing it on the X-Box. So to have fable coming back is great. We talked about, we touched on perfect dark. You know, you've had that series dormant for a while now literally in the shadows of every game before it.
[00:53:48] I mean, I remember you've been mentioning that like, dude, I want to see the perfect dark, like, because it's been like two, three years since they revealed a little teaser trailer. Yeah. And then nothing. And then nothing.
[00:54:03] Not just that, but like even going farther back, like perfect dark was always like second fiddle to something. To golden eye. Especially around that time because that game stood out because it was really good. To golden eye, to original pod or original
[00:54:19] halo because it came out all 360. So yeah, maybe. Yeah. And it was very innovative. I feel like it was one of the first, like, I remember the first time playing it. Holy crap. Like if I see it, it's a turret.
[00:54:32] Like you had perfect. Yep. You had perfect dark on the N 64. And then to Jason's point, right? You had perfect dark zero, which launched on the 360. Yeah. That's kind of what I think really grew and created that new fan base because
[00:54:48] those two games really, really standard out. Yeah. They're amazing, but they were just always overshadowed by different shooters. By the bigger, actually a bigger AAA game, which like was kind of unfair. It sucks, but yeah.
[00:55:02] We compare it like first persons. Perfect dark works perfectly for first person always has. And the initiative looks like they did an amazing job with it. The other thing that sticks out to me is you've got life is strange double exposure that
[00:55:18] there's a huge following for life is strange to being able to announce that is huge for Microsoft. There's so many of these, like all these exclusives, Sarah Bond did say it's all coming out day one. If you watch the press rate, all the exclusives that are from
[00:55:39] Xbox game studios are going to be day one game pass games. So they are now really trying to beef up the offerings for game pass. And then right at the end, right before they showed off
[00:55:55] the gears of war, eat a trailer, which I think was a great way to end it is you have this. So coming out the holiday, they are bringing out three new additions of the Xbox.
[00:56:08] They're going to be doing an all digital Xbox series X that is one terabyte in the white. You're going to have a white one terabyte series S. And then you're going to have a two terabyte series X coming out the series X.
[00:56:34] It looks like it's going for it's going to be going for six hundred. Yeah, I haven't seen the price points for the series X and the series. Dude, one terabyte on the Xbox fills up fast. I mean, heck, it feels like. Yeah, those games.
[00:56:55] Terabytes by itself. All you can play is Call of Duty and think about that. Think about that though. That is that one third of whatever you can do is already. Well, even then you can include the OS on there. So you're really only starting off
[00:57:10] with like eight hundred and fifty terabyte or eight hundred fifty. Well, I mean, like I'm giving I'm giving Xbox the benefit of the doubt with that. You know, like I'm just saying one third, like let's say like
[00:57:22] fifty fifty gigabyte for OS stuff, you know, like, OK, yeah, give you the benefit of the doubt. One third is still gone. So OK, I don't want to. I mean, that makes sense with the two with the two terabyte.
[00:57:43] I will say that's that's that's a terabyte digital, you know, or that two terabyte system does look pretty though with the I like the galaxy. And that's good, man. And that fluorescent green on it and what not.
[00:57:59] It makes it pop. And then it's got like I looks like a matte finish. Bring it back to their roots. I just want to say that it's about fucking time, Xbox. Like the the Xbox community has been starved for first con first party content.
[00:58:21] And we're just games in general. Yeah. And they hit it at the part. We all have kind of gotten like it's I think we're all kind of like it's refreshing to see Xbox like, dude, they turned it out like they really killed it this year.
[00:58:37] Like those are the hate to say showcase like they were like surprise after surprise and then banger after banger. Like it was it was it was nice. It was refreshing. Like they really kicked ass.
[00:58:51] Yeah. And like I said to Phil Spencer, Matt Booty and Sarah Bond, amazing job with us. Yeah, it was great. And I we've we've always said this that the game industry is always better when all three platforms are at their strongest.
[00:59:08] You know, and now you're looking at, you know, Nintendo. Let's be honest. This year has been a wastage year. Yeah, you got Princess Peach, but then you've got the remake of Luigi Mansion. I don't know about a year. Look at hold on. They've been here the remake.
[00:59:27] It's the year of the remake. It's the remake, but I think I think they're waiting. I think they're biting their time until they do their their announcement. Well, I get that. But you know, but you've got titles that people are clamoring for. And then you're not wrong.
[00:59:41] That's a gamble. A whole year of just coming out with remakes and like OK releases. I agree. Like, I think they're they're putting their, you know, all their ducks in like this, the announcement, you know, so I don't think so.
[00:59:56] And I think I'm on with the matter right now. You have you kind of have a wasted year, you know, like so far already at the halfway mark of the year just about, you know, and you haven't really shocked and odd us
[01:00:09] with something we can like we can clench onto for Nintendo. I think, you know, like I agree. Yeah, I haven't I haven't gone and be like, oh, you know what? Let me go try and pick us. Like, let me go see. And interesting to buy on the switch.
[01:00:25] And I look and I'm like, no, because everything that honestly for me was and probably for same with Matt, he was for me was tears and wonder. And I think Matt, for wonder, wonder like I picked up tears. I played it for a bit.
[01:00:41] Breath of the Wild and tears just don't hit with me. Yeah, yeah. You know, but wonder was the pretty much the last like last thing I picked up. Well, I bought Princess Peach for the boys. Right. They played it for a bit and that's it.
[01:00:54] Like they've been playing honestly, they've been playing Mario versus Rabbids, like the first one. But wonder was the last one where you you had a pre-order like, oh, dude, I'm picking up. Yes. Excited to go pick it up. It was disappointing.
[01:01:08] You know, and like Luigi's Mansion 2, as much as I love Luigi's Mansion, I'm actually thinking about swapping my pre-order to something else. Because I mean, it's a remake that you know, it's a remake, right? And it's a full price remake at that. Yeah.
[01:01:24] And then you've got they did Thousand Year Door. That's another remake, you know, just a port. So I think the only thing that saves their year this year and my eyes is you have to do Ocarina or not Ocarina, but Wind Waker and Twilight Princess.
[01:01:42] And you have to do Metroid Prime 2 and 3. With and I'm gonna say this with a trailer for Metroid Prime 4. So normally, I think like you'd be reaching Matt, but to be perfectly honest, I don't think you're asking for much because you're the remake. Right.
[01:02:06] But all but all of those have already been announced to and we still haven't seen any kind of information. I would agree with you guys on that where like, yeah, I mean, it's time to make some announcements.
[01:02:20] But I just understand that I think they're biding their time for their switch. Oh, yeah, I think they're gonna have a banger lineup, right? Yeah. And I still think I still think I do agree. I think this was wasted time.
[01:02:35] I just think like in hindsight, they have an idea but and I think Metroid Prime 4 is a saddle title. I think it's gonna be like Breath of the Wild. They better do something with it. I think Prime does it might make its way to the standard switch
[01:02:50] and I think it's gonna be a launch title for the switch too, much like Breath of the Wild was. I hope so. They better do something with it because they are related enough. The problem was Metroid as well as it did with Metroid Prime Remastered,
[01:03:04] which that game was fantastic and it was perfect. Metroid doesn't have the following that Zelda does. It doesn't have the following that Mario does. But I think it's starting to get that following. I think it's now getting more and more recognized where it's building that fan base.
[01:03:26] It's always had that like hardcore niche fan base but I think with Dread, it opened people like, oh this was pretty cool. So hopefully with more coming out, more and more will get it. I'm gonna start us off with what I've been playing because
[01:03:44] finishing up that conversation about Nintendo, that's not what I've been playing because my switch other than the boys playing it because I've got the better save file for Mario versus Rabbids because I had a lot unlocked. What's going on with the addiction?
[01:04:00] Animal Crossing has not been touched in almost a month. Well three weeks. So I popped onto the island for a little bit but- Your island could have weeds and bushes? Oh it's overrun with weeds. Oh I can guarantee you. I was still building- Something's wrong!
[01:04:19] I was building a cool movie theater. I went and found stuff on there so I've got like actual movie posters up for walls, wall decorations and stuff like that but honestly my switch, I have no interest in playing my switch. Oh run on.
[01:04:37] I am playing my PS5 a shit ton right now. Sweet, sweet. I have my MLB the show season which I am a game and a half back of the Diamondbacks. The Dodgers are sitting a half game in front of me right now
[01:04:55] and I still haven't faced them yet so I'm looking forward to facing them and actually hitting against Shohei Otani. I've started doing more virtual photography inside of Gran Turismo. I'm getting back into that. Oh my god, I posted some killer shots on Instagram and Twitter.
[01:05:16] I showed a friend of mine some of the shots and they're like that's real? I said no, no, no that's in Gran Turismo. Like the shots looked almost real. Of course I rolled credits on Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. I started Mass Effect 2 on Sunday. Nice.
[01:05:38] Part of that is because I was showing Jason, my wife got me the art book for my anniversary present. That's going to Fan Expo with me so I can meet, have Jennifer Hale, Keith David and Fred sign it. And Fred signed it. You know, the cast.
[01:06:02] Part of Exdefiant, I am loving Exdefiant beyond all means. I think what it is is like with the problem with Call of Duty is there is no casual versus ranked. It's just everybody gets thrown into a lobby and come to find out they use whoever,
[01:06:23] kind of like the party leader, it uses their sass to determine the lobby and then you end up getting put in with tryhards. All those people that are worried about their KDs and stuff like that. With this one, I don't give a damn about my KD.
[01:06:41] I am playing, and this is going to shock people that have played with me and know me and stuff like that is I am playing the fucking objective. On Escort, I am trying to get the Escort package. I am trying to help out, provide support there,
[01:06:58] defend the zones, you know. You are actually being a part of a team. Interesting. I am sitting there going, guys, we have to move this package. Let's go. That's not the game of Cod. What the heck? Come on, bro. Are you playing it wrong? So it is fun.
[01:07:15] The gun mechanics are tighter. You know, some of the guns will tear you up and then some will just, you know, you can just destroy people with. And it has a lot of a Black Ops 3 feel to it where you have your individual characters,
[01:07:33] they have their own special abilities and they have an ultra that you get built up over time from kills and point scoring and stuff like that. So for a free to play game. It's free to play. And here's the great part about this is. Unlock the guns.
[01:07:55] All you have to do is do a specific challenge. That's it. So for like the ACR, you have to have 10 long range kills to unlock the M4. It's 20 headshots like the marksman rifles. You got to do a certain thing. The snipers, the SMGs and the shotguns, LMGs.
[01:08:15] All you have to do is do a special like be the challenge, you unlock the gun and then you can start leveling up the gun. And just like COD, it's got the barrel. It's got, you know, you can put silencers on it. You've got the under barrels.
[01:08:28] You have attachments and it's five attachments. That's it, you know, and they actually what I love about X Defiant versus COD is you can actually go in and look at the details of each attachment. So you can see how the bullet falls off.
[01:08:44] You can see how the damage decreases over distance. All of those specs. So you can really make informed decisions about your gun setups and whatnot. So that's what I've been playing. I'm like, I've been playing a ton and I don't seem to have time for free things.
[01:09:04] So Jerry? Let's see, still fighting, still trying to find time to fight for democracy. It's been, it has been a little bit. I've been sticking with Final Fantasy. Although you guys are going to laugh. Speaking of addictions, I loaded up a certain game. So you can go fishing?
[01:09:37] And I really felt like hunting and I don't know. I felt like riding down a horse down the past years a little bit. So Jason, this is exactly why you were going to beat him. I didn't really fight you all that much.
[01:09:52] Would you like I'm going to pass here? Like I bought it. How much longer? I need you guys to catch up and finish this because I need to talk about this game. I'll catch up. I'll finish this week. Yeah. Because I want to have soldier and
[01:10:16] Drew and VK on so we can actually talk about the game. I'll be done this week. But I mean, I don't know about Jerry. They'll be there already, right? Or not yet. No, no, feels, feels is going to take its time. But I'll have it done.
[01:10:31] I'll have it done. Liar. Don't lie to me. I'll do it. Lie to my face. I'll have it done. It isn't going to be like last time. I'm not going to leave it like last time. I will finish it in a timely manner. No faith. No faith whatsoever.
[01:10:52] You have zero faith, man. Do I need to get Newman on here just for a minute? Where has Newman been? Yeah. Where has he been at? Yeah. So he's been good. He's got a lot of things going on now at night when we record. Yeah.
[01:11:12] So he's keeping busy. I talk to him every couple of days because I still work with him. Send him our best. I hope he's doing well. So Jason. You know, like I've... Besides catching up on Final Fantasy. I mean, I've been dominating that theme. It's all right, Jerry.
[01:11:34] It's okay. Don't worry. I'll tell you how it is. I'll tell you how it is. Oh my God. Look at every other game I get. Like, oh, you know what, I'll tell you how it is. I'm going to beat it. I am going to beat it.
[01:11:50] I've been playing that. Before the PS6 comes out? Oh, you're so stupid. Okay. At a minimum before the Switch 2? No dramatic. Yes. You guys are mean. That, been playing that. You know, just catch me on backlogs a little bit.
[01:12:13] A lot more Teamfight Tactics, you know, like that's my unwind game. You know, a little, I guess you could say, you know, a game from Riot that a little bit off League of Legends. It's like a little chess game kind of thing.
[01:12:31] Yeah, it's been a while, but I've just been playing that just unwind, you know, like nothing too serious, nothing too crazy, you know. What else have been playing? Those two for sure. And here and there, like why still going on the tears? I think she's almost completed it.
[01:12:55] Almost complete completed. Nice. So like she's been having fun with that and then we might pick up. We're waiting for The Last of Us Season 2 to play the game and go through that. So we want to play it at the same time. Okay.
[01:13:17] Because I need to fire that up. Yeah, well, because neither of us have fully like, we've only played a few chapters of it and, you know, I haven't finished it. So definitely got to finish it because it's on that backlog list.
[01:13:32] But I kind of decided like once the season does come out, since it will be weekly, we'll play up to however far and then, you know, stop and then play up to however far. You get this like, what did they miss?
[01:13:51] Because, you know, they always opt to take stuff out. Yes. And like we've had... For the most part with one, they were still pretty faithful though. Yeah, I mean, again, very faithful. I know.
[01:14:07] This one's going to be interesting because it was docked that it's got eight episodes only, right? Something like that, yeah. Yeah, it's eight or nine. So at least I know when they stop, they stop at stopping points, like a little stopping point.
[01:14:25] You can tell like, oh, I think this is around this part of the game. Like you can definitely tell. Yeah, you can tell exactly where you stop and where they stop. And, you know, like we said plenty of times before on the podcast,
[01:14:39] there are times when we did play the first one. I wish they extended certain scenes. I wish they extended certain things. I wish they took out certain things, but, you know, it's up to how they want to pursue it.
[01:14:54] You know, it's going to be interesting seeing it from start to finish, both gaming wise and TV show wise. So, I mean, we're looking forward to that. So we're going to do that as it's coming out because then we'll be constantly like, you know, like, All right.
[01:15:22] So that's the way we're like, right? So with that, I want to thank everyone for coming in with us tonight. Especially for those that just kind of joined and watched in and whatnot. Thank you for allowing us to give you a little bit of traction from your evening.
[01:15:40] You know, if it's first time crashing, hey, hopefully you enjoyed it. If you did, please drop us a follow head on over to crashinggameknights.com and follow us on the platform of your choice. You can check out our past videos.
[01:15:54] I am starting to get some articles posted as well to the blog. While I was on my trip to see my daughter, I did get a review for BitTrip Rerunner posted because we did get a review code from the studio. That was a lot of fun.
[01:16:17] Yeah, it's a rhythm game that's a side scroller. They introduced the movements and stuff like that. But it's not really like a rhythm game because if you miss the rhythm, it's not like it penalizes you for it. Like for score multipliers and stuff. Oh, well, you know what?
[01:16:32] For those of us that aren't rhythmly inclined. It's like Pat upon bro. But anyways, it was beautiful. It was great. So I got a review article about that and whatnot. So I'm working on some stuff, of course, for X Defiant.
[01:16:47] I'm going to hold off on the review article for that until season. We can break the embargo or not break the embargo, but after the embargo lifts rather we can talk more about it. So I'll do way more in depth for X Defiant in that article and whatnot.
[01:17:05] But yeah, thank you everybody. And also to like right now with everything that's going on with some of the national or natural disasters and stuff that are taking place with all a lot of places are getting flooded. You're seeing a lot more tornadoes and stuff like that.
[01:17:20] Hopefully you're saying safely to family and as always be excellent to each other. That's right. Everyone, of course, we want to send out the same message we do after every episode. We want everyone to be thankful, try and exercise a little bit more compassion, some patience.
[01:17:43] Let's try and lend out a helping hand here and there. Let's just overall try to do and be better. You know, it's still crazy out there and you know with more upcoming events
[01:18:03] coming up in the future, you know, it's only going to get more challenging for us to be positive and be patient with one another. So yeah, let's just try and do better and be better and be safe out there.
[01:18:20] Thank you all and you all be you and be nerds and be exactly who you are. Be safe. Thank you. J-Rock. Yeah, I mean, for all of you, you know, watching this live, welcome to have you guys as well as, you know, for all your fathers because
[01:18:42] this Sunday will be Father's Day. So Matt, happy early Father's Day to you. Happy Father's Day, Brad. You know, so happy Father's Day to all you out there that have our fathers, you know, have fathers, all that stuff.
[01:18:55] So anyways, you know, this weekend, please have a good Father's Day. I mean, that's what I want to take away from this. What else? Oh yeah, you know, I know a lot of you out there. I wonder why I'm not talking more about Hellblade right now. Don't worry.
[01:19:13] I am going to be playing it. It's been a rough couple weeks. So, you know, we are, we are, I am going to be playing it very soon after I finished beating Final Fantasy 7 before Jerry.
[01:19:25] So I just wanted to let you guys know up there before we sign out right now. All right. So, you know, just take care of yourselves. Like the other guys have said, you know, be courteous out there. It is Father's Day. It will be busy.
[01:19:39] You know, could grill those, grill those hot dogs, grill those burgers, have some good family time. So, you know, take a pause on gaming for one day. One day. Anyways, my boy Theo, he is not here.
[01:19:54] So I can't say my man like I used to, like I always do. But you know what? We'll just send it out very calmly, very peacefully, you know, you know. So Matt, Jerry, me, you know, good to have you on. All right, boys. Well, until next time. 2TFS.
[01:20:18] Talk to you all for now. Good night, everybody.
