Episode 279 - Nintendo Ends “E3” Week With A Direct

On this episode of the podcast, we break down the 6/18 Nintendo Direct.

[00:00:09] and with that welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt Duro, your host. As always, I am joined by the be need one. Zaraad, Barara. Oh, thank you. Give me a little spice on the name.

[00:00:27] I love it. What is well, you are you are one of the founding members of the Spice Boys. Oh, oh, good segue. Oh, good. That was good. You set yourself up for that one. I did. That was a good one. Holy crap. And and you know what?

[00:00:45] Little Easter egg, too, if you guys want to go down the rabbit hole of past episodes. But yeah. Hey, what is going on, nerds? Thank you all for coming in, coming in, listening, viewing everything. Thank you guys. What's up? And I'll be honest,

[00:01:05] there's a link under Jerry's profile on the website that just goes straight to Spice Boys. Oh, not OK. I labeled it Spice Boys. So why are we still on this? Oh, but now we got to share the amazingness that is the Spice Boys.

[00:01:29] Yes. And make it we can make it like national treasure and you have to find it by clues and everything. And that ladies and gentlemen, I'm kind of down with I'd be down with that is our resident guardian up there hanging out streaming the final shape.

[00:01:46] The babyface one, Theo Walski was up everybody. Nice to end. You know. The man wearing a very appropriate shirt. Also to coincide with my appropriateness here as well. Oh, yeah. Is our major DS services, the man with the couch, the man, the myth,

[00:02:06] the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Bolidio. How's it going, guys? How's it going tonight? Baby. Oh, my goodness. You know, I miss you, Theo. You know, like we can just end the show right now. You know, my man, I miss you, buddy. There it is.

[00:02:26] We told you, everybody. We're missed, dude. He went solo on it. He just like he's like Jerry, Matt, and then he just went right into it. He was like, you know, I'm doing solo. Yeah, yeah, just straight up. So that's cool. That's cool.

[00:02:49] Jason, did you call yourself your man? No, no, no. That's all I want time. You know, I got to switch it up every time I got on it. So I'm like, man, like, think about it. And it's just like,

[00:03:06] oh, I thought it just comes naturally to you all the time. Sometimes, sometimes. So, yeah, so yesterday, Nintendo announced that they did they were doing a direct today. And I have to say they ended what would have been E3 week very well.

[00:03:26] It was actually a pretty solid direct. Yeah, I would agree. It was it was definitely it was solid. It hit every like I would say every avenue of gaming and well, like every announcement was just interesting and seamless and like every kind of genre was hit.

[00:03:48] So and it opened well. Like, yeah, it was a solid direct. It was good. Let's kind of get into it. It was entertaining. I have a I have a nice fancy little PowerPoint for us with all that information to put on again, baby. Hey, why not, man?

[00:04:09] Why the fuck not? Right. Let's put a little possessive, just running down. Are we needing to coin like the term corporate nerd now? No, that's pretty. No, no, no. Corpo, Corpo, Corpo, Corpo. Yep. Anyway, so for those folks that are actually listening at home,

[00:04:37] you could always head over to our YouTube channel and you'll be able to catch the actual video piece of this because we're going to be going through the actual direct put together PowerPoint. That's got actually some screenshots of the actual title cards and whatnot.

[00:04:52] So as as I say again, is I would agree with the man's assessment on the direct. I would also encourage you guys to go see it. It really was. I would say like entertaining direct. It's been a while. I mean, I think that's why it's been a while.

[00:05:10] That's it's been this kind of solid. So I would. Yeah, I would encourage you guys to go see it. Take it out on YouTube. All right. So they started out with Mario and Luigi Brothership. So this is new entry into the Mario and Luigi series. It's been

[00:05:30] pretty much nine years and it looks good. They've done an entry into this. So it looks it looks like a little bit of fun with it. It's going to be coming out on November 7th. I feel like this gives me a tease on Wind Waker. Maybe.

[00:05:49] I don't know. We'll find out. We just I mean, with the boat and everything, it just makes me wish and hope. Let's keep that. Keep that hope up for a little bit. That momentum. Maybe it'll get crushed. Maybe it'll be rewarded. We don't know lies.

[00:06:06] Jerry and I do because we watched the direct. You didn't. Anyway, so I worked. They started. All right. Hey, I was working today. I did not. It was at 8am. So air quotes around that working during the Nintendo Direct. I had no I had no meetings, sir.

[00:06:26] They off. I'm off tomorrow. Anyways, so then they followed it up with the Nintendo World Championship N.E.S. Edition. It's going to release on July 18th. They are going to have a physical deluxe edition available.

[00:06:45] It's a collection of I'm really tempted only because like I like this is an addition that I would like. You just want the gold cartridge that too, but also like I kind of feel this way this would become like a collector's item.

[00:07:05] So, oh yeah, yeah, I'm kind of. I'm bringing out the gold cartridge and everything. That's nostalgia there. Oh, yeah, like the collector's edition is or yeah, the collector's edition. The physical one is, dude, it's solid as well.

[00:07:22] It's it's going to be just like the one now they brought it out. Like what is like 92 or something like that? It's it's going to be pretty fun. And then you're just going to be like nostalgia for a week. And then you're done.

[00:07:38] That's what I mean, like I'm not going to I think my intent is not to open it. It's like it seems like it's more than you get to or you just get a physical. I think I'm just going to get a physical and just not like open it.

[00:07:55] That's like I just think this is going to be a collector's item. So my intent is like I think I'm just going to buy it and keep it sealed. I don't even think it's going to be a collector's item. I don't know. Well, that's the gamble.

[00:08:09] I mean, that's why it because they're doing a physical edition. I you know, that's the role of the dice, but I think it's going to be. I mean, yeah, it looks cool. Here's the edition right here. Like so it's that gold disc. Golden, yes.

[00:08:28] Some that's why I kind of feel like I buy it, I'm going to buy it and keep it sealed and keep it as a collector's item. Would you get it graded? I think that way it keeps it. I would try. Yeah, I think I would try.

[00:08:43] I would try that. See, I think I have to look into like dreams. I'd say, I mean, as much as I love Nintendo, they do stuff like this. This screams a lot like any remix

[00:08:55] that they came out with years ago where you play it for a little bit. And that's it. No, you know, all it is is a collection of different levels that you basically have to try and speed run against other people. So

[00:09:11] you know, you know, Zelda, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Excitebike, you'll be there's levels where you can go against everybody. You know, you got to co-op. But if you do it online, then basically at the end of each run,

[00:09:30] the people, half the people with the lowest score are kicked are done. They're out of the game. And then you move on to the next speed run for it. And then the next half is kicked out, you know, and whatnot. So it's interesting.

[00:09:44] I guess one of the things they talked about in it is that basically you go through Mario like there's a Mario and you the warp pipe run in 24 seconds. So I would definitely never do that. And that's going to be predicated on knowing the levels. Yeah. Right.

[00:10:06] Not everybody knows where all those warp point, you know, the work and stuff. So so that is it's going to be 60 dollars or for the physical or 30 dollars for the digital. So I said, I'm contemplating it, but I mean, I don't know. It's the physical only in Deluxe.

[00:10:26] There's no Deluxe. Correct. That's the question. It like, I don't know. Like it also feels like a cash grab. So like, I don't know. I'm still weighing whether or not I'm going to pull the trigger on that one. I mean, that it pulls on the hard strings.

[00:10:46] Yeah, that's why. I mean, they're just like for speed runs. Then like, I don't know. I don't think so. I mean, it could do well. We'll see. But, you know, definitely going to preorder Mario. Yeah. All right. So then we had a fairy tale, too.

[00:11:07] It's releasing winter of this year. It's based on the fairy tale anime. And from the reports I've seen is that the players will get to see how the anime ends in the game. OK, so actually. I actually haven't finished the anime. Well, then.

[00:11:30] All right. And then you had kind of stalled. So I need to get back to it. So then you had also Fantasian Neo Dimension. This releases in the holiday of this year. It is from Miss Walker Studios, which anybody who recognizes that that studio name is because they're

[00:11:49] responsible for the the game's Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon over on the Xbox 360. The studio was started up by I can never remember his like how to actually pronounce his name, so I'm not going to do it. But he is the basically the father of Final Fantasy.

[00:12:07] Like he is the original creator of Final Fantasy. He left. Can you pronounce it? I don't know. I'll stop my. OK. It does have a score that is done by you, Matsu, which anybody who has been playing Final Fantasy forever knows that name very, very well.

[00:12:26] Fantasian was originally released as an Apple arcade exclusive. It's the game where it's kind of got looks like kind of like. Set actual set pieces and the animations done within the set pieces. So like they took shots of dioramas

[00:12:42] and then animated with inside of it, it is going to be coming to switch. PS5, PS4, Series X and S and Steam. So all right. And then Switch Sports is getting an update this summer, which is about bloody

[00:12:57] frickin time because they haven't done anything with that since it launched. I don't need to, man. It's yeah, but there's stuff that they're missing. Like they didn't put baseball in it. They could have done baseball. You know, they gave us the good golf. They gave us good bowling.

[00:13:14] So now, so it's going to be free. One it's going to have to be two and a three point contest with it. So that's going to be coming out. They haven't set a specific date yet. So it's just summer. So

[00:13:33] you had a game called Mio Memories in Orbit. It didn't really show much. It was just like a little bit of a trailer with it. Couldn't really get the gist of what the game is about. But it's going to be coming out in 2025. Looked interesting.

[00:13:46] I mean, definitely great production completed. Bastion. I don't think so. It's super giant. It didn't look like it. Let's go to the interwebs and let's look at that. Our webs. Google is our friend. Gemini is our friend. According to the steam, let's look at it.

[00:14:16] It's coming from a company called it looks like those a Dixie Miss publishers Focus Entertainment and it is classified as a Metroid mania. It's beautiful looking game. Yes, very. Like the art style. Very luminescence and like, yeah, yeah, that's cool. It was a good time. All right.

[00:14:38] And then you have a free update that is releasing actually today for Disney's Illusion Island. It's called the mystery of Monoff. I haven't played the illusion game, but it was that one that came out as a side scroller.

[00:14:55] Kind of you can play up to four people on it. So it's actually giving a free update to it, which is kind of cool. You know, at least they're allowed, you know, they're coming up with free DLC instead of having paid, you know, paid DLC. Right. All right.

[00:15:08] So this is one I've been waiting to talk about all all day since we kind of like have seen the releases for it. So Hello Kitty Island Adventure. OK, there's a reason why. Let me hold on. Let me talk about why you say, oh my God, bro.

[00:15:22] Like, what the heck? Well, it's just by the name. I don't know for sure. I'm not saying anything with Hello Kitty, but I feel like this is bringing back. Just wait. It has a tie into one of my favorite, one of my favorite cartoon episodes ever.

[00:15:36] So the game's going to be releasing in 2025 as a time console exclusive. It was previously released on Apple Arcade. Now, the funny thing about this whole title, Hello Kitty Island Adventure, is if anybody has ever seen the episode of South Park, make love, not Warcraft.

[00:15:57] And they trying to recruit butters to go into Warcraft with them and he says, no, I'd rather just play Hello Kitty Island Adventure. Oh, my God. So that's why it wasn't even out in existence before the episode came out.

[00:16:11] I've got to watch it. Is that is that the one? That's the one. Wars? No. So maybe that is when there is this guy that gets a hold of the super duper sword right that nobody's supposed to have and is literally murdering everybody.

[00:16:25] So in Warcraft, you have to accept the like the PVP stuff. Like they want to duel you. You have to accept it. The sword allowed him to bypass it. So he was literally killing everybody. So, oh, damn, basically, Cartman and the guys go blogging to the game.

[00:16:44] They go into this like area of the game where nobody would ever expect them to go. And they just sit there killing like base level one through five. Just for fours. Just farming. Absolutely. Arming up until they're strong enough and then they go into battle with this guy.

[00:17:03] But it was just funny that fact that in that episode out, which. Which is from back way like. Is that the same episode there in the basement? And they're like, mom, like, mom, more hot pockets. Oh, I think I saw a clip of it before.

[00:17:21] OK, after she's bringing them down a bed. Yeah. Jesus. It is one of my absolute favorite episodes of South Park, just because it made fun of everybody I knew that played Warcraft at that time. And it also but it also looks like it like it.

[00:17:38] It's a whole completely like Animal Crossing, like it plays. Yes, it's considered a cozy game. Yeah. So. All right. That's that. That's why I was like another another addiction game. I guess what I thought, too, is another addiction. That's the type of addiction game like the game.

[00:17:57] That's a couple of those that got really, you know, that got announced today. So then you had a follow up is Looney Tunes Wacky World of Sports coming out in the fall, it's going to be on Switch, PS5 and Xbox Series X and S.

[00:18:11] It kind of looks like a Looney Tunes version of Mario Golf and Mario Soccer, Mario Tennis and, you know, Mario Hoops. So but Looney Tunes got you. All right. So Among Us got a free update today that includes new abilities, additional content. So there's one where you can

[00:18:35] a new ability where you can turn into the ghost like you're not even dead yet and you can turn into the ghost and go follow people around without them seeing you. You can put trackers on people. So it looks kind of cool. Yeah.

[00:18:50] You have this another game come out, Farmagia releases November 1st on Switch and PS5. It's going to have a physical collector's edition at launch. Basically, you kind of grow these pets and stuff like they're vegetables and then you go take them out and hunt monsters and stuff.

[00:19:11] So it looked kind of like it's a weird look between Pokemon and Pal World mixed with it was kind of cool. It was interesting with a farming sin. OK, I mean, there was farming in my world too. Yeah, you know, your slaves to work.

[00:19:32] But what I'm talking about is you actually go plant the plants and then they grow out of it and stuff. So all right. And then Duncan Country Returns HD was announced. This is a was originally released on the Wii. This will be coming out January 16th.

[00:19:51] It'll have two player co-op. Some of the three levels will be included as well. It looks beautiful, like absolutely gorgeous. So I'll be I'll be pre-ordering that one for the family. Then he had Dragon Quest 3 HD 2D remake. So anybody that's played like Octopath Traveler,

[00:20:14] it's getting that style of remake done to it. It'll be coming out November 14th. They did announce that one and two are going to be getting the HD 2D remake treatment that will be coming out next year. And this is something I didn't know,

[00:20:30] but they mentioned during the Direct that Dragon Quest 3 is actually the first game in the Erdrick trilogy. So it actually goes to ask about that. Like why three first? Yeah. So it actually goes three, then one, then two. So I don't know.

[00:20:46] He's actually a prequel type of thing. Kind of sort of. Yeah. Pretty sweet. I have to say that that was pretty cool. And also the transition between the announcement of the one and two remake was really like, oh, by the way, here you go.

[00:21:04] It was it was a pretty cool transition like that also added to the to the direct. All right. And then we have I thought of Theo when I saw this game. Yeah, me too. Fusion. Yes. And dude, it looks pretty fun. I want to play it.

[00:21:23] It's coming out September 13th. It's going to include 60 different figures. You can be able to play across multiple different movies, cartoons and shows and games. You know, they have some of the stuff you can see in the background. You had Jaws.

[00:21:38] You had the thing, Xena Warrior Princess, Masters of the Universe, Knight Rider, Scott Pilgrim. But one of the things that I laughed hysterically at was not hot fuzz, but Shaun of the Dead. Oh, yeah, that was funny that they're in Shaun of the Dead. And it was great.

[00:21:59] It was the whole scene where they're trying to pretend that they're zombies. Yeah, it was really cool is if you could scan your physical Funko pop barcodes and you'd have that character in the game, I know that, you know, who knows? That might be something down the pipe.

[00:22:14] But again, it's only it's only launching with 60 character, you know, different pop figures and stuff like that. And how many pop figures are they up to right now? I mean, thousands. Yeah. Yeah. So starting off with 60 isn't isn't bad, especially with opening in,

[00:22:32] you know, of course, that they can add more, you know. So I think I think this may be like if it's good and successful, like we might see a lot more of these because the trailer looked like a lot of fun.

[00:22:48] Like just just a bundles of just a bunch of chaos. Yeah. And they kind of collectory too. So it was also like, yeah, yeah. That's why we really thought of you feel like I would check it out. And then we got a new trailer. Yeah, yeah.

[00:23:08] Then we got a new trailer for Luigi's Mansion 2 HD. That does come out a week from Friday. Oh, OK. For Friday. Yeah. What's easy? 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st. Comes out 27th. So next Thursday, actually. So I went off and I went and paid mine off today.

[00:23:29] I think I'm going to preorder that too. Oh, you went physical? Yes. OK, because that way the kids want to play it and go play it on their own Switch, even though they keep coming in and keep stealing my Switch. They have a little bit.

[00:23:44] It's a little bit harder for them. So we'll see how to does form. But yeah, they keep stealing my Switch because I've got the good save files on stuff. All right. And then we got a game called the new Denpah Man Men.

[00:23:58] It was it is a timed exclusive coming out July 22nd. It's a free to play game. It'll be that way on the ease. Yeah, it looked kind of weird. And then you got metal gear or metal slug attack reloaded. It released today. It's a tower defense style game.

[00:24:20] It's on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Xbox One, Switch and PC. Then you had Darkest Dungeon 2 was previously on Steam. It's releasing on Switch and PS4, PS5 on July 15th. They announced yet another Nintendo Switch online update. A couple of weeks ago, we got a bunch

[00:24:44] of Mega Man games added to the online. Now we're getting Legend Zelda link to the past Legend of Four Swords, which is the GBA version, not the GameCube version. We're getting Metroid Zero mission from the GBA. And then we're getting Perfect Dark, the original and the original Turot.

[00:25:11] Now, what's interesting about this is that they specifically specified that it's going to be in the N64 17 plus section. So I haven't fired my Switch up since. Let's just fire it up now and see what the if there's an update. I didn't know there was a 17 plus.

[00:25:33] This is going to be a first because there hasn't been mature rated games on the Switch yet. I'll be honest, I actually did know there was mature rated games for N64. Yeah. Do you know what the first one was? No. Conker's Bad Fur Day. Oh, OK.

[00:25:56] I know that game. I do not know that game. It is completely obscene, like think like a squirrel meets Rick and Morty just saying obscene crap every now and then. Dude, Conker's Bad Fur Day. That game is fantastic. So it doesn't I just fired up my Switch.

[00:26:19] There isn't an update for it to show an N17 on it. So I wonder if it's like a separate download. Oh, maybe like maybe a separate version. I think I think a separate app would make sense at least. Yeah, I'm going to go in line and check the

[00:26:48] so the one thing I'm curious about is if they're going to do just the standard 64 controls for both Perfect Dark and Turok or are they going to give us actual like you know, like updated controls because they with Golden Eye, right? It is the N64 controls.

[00:27:09] So they're all ghetto and backwards is crap. And then the Xbox version got the good the good stuff. OK, I don't remember that. What made it better controls? I don't understand. So basically, so the old N64 controller, right? You got to kind of held it.

[00:27:28] It was still oriented as if the joystick was here and the other controls were on the top side of the controller. Yeah, and you had to hold down. But are you saying you couldn't change that up? You have to do some finagling within

[00:27:44] the game to even get it close, whereas on the Xbox version, you just basically put it into modern controls and it's done. Oh, so that's annoying. Hmm, that's a bummer. So, yeah, so I'm not seeing and and the.

[00:28:05] The 17 plus section on there, I'll play with it, switch more later. But I can remember playing Turok to all the time. I would that would be great coming out. So. All right. So you had Phantom Brave, the Lost Hero, releasing in twenty twenty five.

[00:28:22] Jason, this is why I say you wore the perfect shirt for this, sir. Is we get Marvel versus Capcom fighting collection coming out sometime in twenty twenty four. They just said twenty twenty four. They can give an actual date.

[00:28:36] Even Capcom's website says that to be coming to switch PS4, PS5 and steam. They are not bringing it to Xbox for some reason. I don't know why, but the games it's coming with. You're getting will be preordering this. I will be getting this.

[00:28:50] Oh, yes. X-Men versus Street Fighter. I dumped a crap ton of tokens and quarters into this game. You're getting Marvel versus Capcom, Marvel versus Capcom to the Punisher, Marvel Super Heroes, Marvel Super Heroes versus Street Fighter and then X-Men Children of the Atom. Down.

[00:29:11] So you are getting like the one that makes me wonder is like, why the Punisher? That's all that right. Only this is my reason because Marvel Super Heroes, if I'm assuming that's correct, it's the other one that when you

[00:29:25] can play like Captain America, so it's all the fighting game. So when you look at it, right? So Marvel Super Heroes didn't include. Oh, no, that's Avengers. Isn't it Avengers assemble or that their arcade game I'm thinking of? No. So basically what it is, is you

[00:29:42] had Marvel Super Heroes, which was its own fighting game, and you have characters within Marvel fighting each other. Then they kind of evolved it. I think Jason correct me if I'm wrong, but that that led into was it Marvel versus Capcom?

[00:29:57] So it was X-Men, General Atom, which was first. Yep. And then the next one, Street Fighter fighter, then Marvel Super Heroes versus Street Fighter, then NBC, NBC one. Right now, I understand they're all fighting games. But what I'm saying is because the Punisher is a scrolling single player.

[00:30:14] Yeah, side scroller makes no sense in there. I don't. I thought one of those titles was the that other Avengers arcade game, which OK, so yeah, now that makes sense. The Punisher is a little random, so I'm all I'm still kind of all for it

[00:30:32] because it is a change of pace. I will be playing it. Oh, I'll play the crap out of X-Men versus Street Fighter and they show the two player and the second player is me, school white Nick Fury.

[00:30:46] Give me a just give me Wolverine and Cyclops as my duo. I'll be set. I mean, yeah, you're like pretty much everyone's buying this honestly for Marvel versus Capcom to like majority of majority of people. What's funny is I saw somebody

[00:31:06] because I'm in the kind of funny Facebook group and someone posted that they had just ordered the Japanese dreamcast version of Marvel versus Capcom to because it has not been localized. Well, it was on US collectors. I was no.

[00:31:26] So yeah, that's the only way to get it was on the dreamcast. How much was that dreamcast version? That's what I'm wondering. So I don't know. Damn. Yeah. But it's it's been on other ones, too. It's been on PlayStation two.

[00:31:40] But the reason why that everyone likes the dreamcast version is because you can actually tag and play multiple different characters versus. Yes, that's that's still the coveted version. Yeah. I remember the unless you had a mirror match that it couldn't handle it.

[00:31:58] I think I learned that from you when we were working together. That's why. All right. And then we got Super Mario Party Jamboree comes out October 17th. It looks fun, but I'm not going to grab this one because Super Mario Party requires you to use Joy-Cons only.

[00:32:20] That's it. And I think it appeared it looks to appear the mirror that symptom or that thing spoke like for me is Mario Party All-Stars was or Superstars was way better because you could use pro controllers and stuff. You weren't reliant on the on the Joy-Cons.

[00:32:37] Now, the surprise, which this is where we crushed Theo's dreams, is that instead of us getting Wind Waker, we're getting the Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom. It is now this is it is in the style of Link's Awakening.

[00:32:53] Remake it down and I'm kind of down, so Zelda is the protagonist. Zelda has got to say this time, I am so well, it's good. I mean, I love these style of Zeldas anyways, but I'm going to be preorient this because I love Link's Awakening.

[00:33:11] So it looked really, really cool. It was the mechanism. You know, it looked when it started off, I was like, are they doing Link to the past? In the style of Link's Awakening, like as an update, that's what I was thinking, right? Just go through all of them.

[00:33:30] But then it was like there was a little cinema before the like as the trailer. And yeah, that was like you kind of question like, oh, OK, but watch the trailer. Yeah, it's good. And then this got dropped.

[00:33:48] God, if I didn't, if I didn't need a switch, that thing is pretty. It just had to be a switch light, though. That's what ruins it for me. I'm good. Correct. Yeah. Well, you guys should have known. I mean, like they had the frickin. Oh, yeah. I was

[00:34:05] version of it. I was absolutely not surprised. Yeah. Well, it's kind of I mean, it is surprising in a little bit just because they just did you know, they did the tears of the kingdom, you know, switch. Oh, lead.

[00:34:18] I'm kind of not like they do the same thing with Mario. There are so many and they did one with Animal Crossing, right? They got two versions of the switch light. It really wasn't that surprised. Tears, tears.

[00:34:29] But that being said, that is a very, very pretty, very beautiful switch. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I just have no need for it. I don't have any for it either, but it's awesome. It is good looking classic. So wait for the switch to exactly. All right.

[00:34:48] So then they announced Just Dance 2025. I mean, I like the other picture. I'm looking ahead. Oh, yeah. And then that's going to be coming out. PS5 switch, the Xbox, the X and S and switch. The nice thing that they this is on Ubi's website.

[00:35:05] This was something that wasn't announced during the direct is that the content that players already own in Just Dance 23 and 24 will carry over and be included in 25, and they're also going to do one month of free access to Just

[00:35:19] Dance Plus, which is their subscription service to get more songs and everything for it. OK, so this is something that Theo, you did miss last week when we were breaking down all the stuff from Summer Game Fest and all that, but Verizon Adventures.

[00:35:34] You know, we got another a different trailer. This is the one in Summer Game Fest. It looks good. It's coming to switch PS5 and PC. It is not going to Xbox. I don't know why it's a Lego game like just do it. So that'll be interesting.

[00:35:50] I'm if it's on PC, I would think it would be on Xbox, right? Yeah, no, it's on Steam. So maybe it's a timed exclusive. I mean, at least it's coming to PC. I'm happy. Yeah, I am like I'm probably as much as I love Horizon and stuff like

[00:36:06] that, I'm probably not going to pick this one up. I've been thinking about it. And it's just like all the Lego games I bought get played for like a week and that's it and I never go back to them. So. Maybe this would be the first one. So

[00:36:21] and so you got Stray coming to the switch. This one, I hate to say it. You could really see the age of the switch in the trailer because the graphics were downgraded compared to where the PS5 version was, you know, it's already been available on the PS4,

[00:36:39] PS5, Series X and S, PC and Mac. It's coming out on holiday 24. For me, I would say this, if you don't have access to any of the other consoles, you know, it is a good game. You know, it is kind of relaxing in some ways.

[00:36:55] But if you have access to one of the other consoles, I would grab it on there because from a graphical quality, oh, yeah, the fidelity in the other consoles is bar none and you are missing out on, you know,

[00:37:11] some of the details in the buildings and the robots and everything from the look of the trailer and stuff. So then we had another cozy game in Tales of the Shire, a Lord of the Rings game

[00:37:25] releasing this holiday on PS5, Xbox Series X and S and my addiction. Yeah, you won't do fucking Animal Crossing. Oh, it's on it's also mobile. So I'm already signed up to download it on my phone. Oh, God.

[00:37:45] Yeah, OK, dude, the moment I saw Shire, Lord of the Rings down. Yeah. All right. So then we got us thought about Jason when I saw this one is turning investigations collection releases September six.

[00:38:00] Now, this is the funny thing is, as I was kind of trying to see what other systems all the stuff was coming out on, right? Capcom specifically stated it's going to be available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, Steam and Windows.

[00:38:13] They didn't mention Xbox Series X and S and PS5. Xbox One. No, that's kind of weird. I mean, it's it doesn't need a graphic for it. Like you could come down, man. Like this. Well, yeah. But no, what I'm saying is they could say it's coming out anyways.

[00:38:27] I mean, so it could. But then they'd have to they'd have to do all those. So Jason and all those look, you know, are you completing your collection and getting this one? Possibly, you know, like I've gotten all the Ace Attorney ones. I need to.

[00:38:49] I might like them. It's fun, they're fun to play and they're not they're not too like time exhausting, which is the best part about it. Yeah, probably. I mean, it's I'm not going to lie. I might I might sneak this as a birthday gift for the Mrs.

[00:39:08] You know, just by for you. Happy birthday. I'm going to go play it for you. I'll start it. Make sure it's good. Make sure it's good, baby. Yeah. And then you have essentially how I pictured myself to be a dad like come spring

[00:39:28] by my kid that knew this system or like, OK, kids, let me get it set up for you. Oh, let me make sure the parental controls are good. Just give me a few hours. We'll be back. Got to test it. Got to test it. Make sure. Yeah.

[00:39:41] Quality control. And then you have the 100 line last Defense Academy, which looked kind of like a tactical RPG game. Basically, it's going to last over, quote unquote, 100 days within the game defending the Academy, similar to something like a fire emblem. Your. The characters can die.

[00:40:03] I just want to know these little white things are those are the school's mascots. Bro, I'm down. I just want to go on those plushies. So that's coming out early 2025 and then the main concern are the plushies. Oh, yeah, I love it.

[00:40:29] And then you have Romancing Saga 2 Revenge of the Seven. This is another remake coming from Square Enix. It's coming out October 24th, 2024. It'll be available on Switch, PS4, PS5 and Steam. Now there's a reason for all this bullshit

[00:40:49] and there's a reason for this bullshit because we fucking finally got it. Yeah. Metroid Prime for the trailer. You got to go watch it. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So fucking good. It's called. It's going to be called Beyond. Just showing off. Samus has an upgraded ship.

[00:41:09] Just everything like that you get to see kind of like a big bad introduced looks like the just space pirate leader. I'm going on record right now. He's speechless. This is going to be a launch title for Switch 2. I'm calling it right now. You're calling it. That's fair.

[00:41:33] I am calling my shot right now, and it is going to be a bridge game. It is going to be on the PS4 and the PS5. The reason I'm saying this is going to be a Switch 2 game is look at the detail

[00:41:44] in the frickin rocks in the ship. OK, yeah. And when you look at some of the battle sequences that they're showing, there's so much detail up in the sky that. Honestly, I think the PS4 or the PS4, the Switch rather, is going to lag.

[00:42:00] It's going to have some frame rate issues because of all the detail is going into this. So I honestly think this is going to be a bridge like Breath of the Wild and it's going to launch on the Switch 2. I don't think you're far off.

[00:42:14] I think you have some merit there. You've been working on this thing for five frickin years. But yeah, you're you're calling you're calling it. Yeah, I'm calling it right now. This is going to be a launch title for Switch 2 or part of the initial

[00:42:31] lineup, but it is going to be a switch to sweet. I'm not going to lie to you, man. I think it's going to be the last title. I don't know. Or I said, oh, switch. I think you're going to say last title. Not the wild was too, though.

[00:42:48] You got to remember they did Breath of the Wild on the Wii U and then brought it out on the Switch at launch. Yeah. So I mean, it could be it could be. It's like one of those dual releases that Nintendo loves doing. That's what I'm calling.

[00:43:02] It's going to be on the switch to at launch. It's going to be the last title because I just don't I see the appeal for it. I see the longevity of how long the switch is. But again, we're just. I don't know, man.

[00:43:18] It's it's just does not seem like it's going to happen. I think it's going to be the last one of the last switch releases or it's going to be one of those words. Yes, it's on Switch and it's on Switch 2.

[00:43:30] But this both of them is a little shoddy. You know, I'm saying like you got to double down a little bit so you can have it on both. Well, no, because they didn't have to do that with Breath of the Wild.

[00:43:42] So they did that show with Princess Princess, though. Princess, they did. Yeah. So I might I'm thinking might get that Twilight Princess is not going to get the Breath of the Wild treatment. Oh, I think it's getting the Breath of the Wild treatment. Yeah, I think so.

[00:43:56] Like they're they're they already put enough time and effort into it. They know. I think graphically, this just it looks to. Too graphically heavy for the switch to really run efficiently. I think, you know, both interesting takes, but also but, you know,

[00:44:16] both have merit. I think it could be a last or it could be a debut. But you guys know, I mean, was the images that were shown gameplay or potentially just cut scenes like look at this right here.

[00:44:30] All the detail on this screen like the cut scene like bled into the gameplay. This is straight gameplay right here. And you look at the graphics, then the rocks and everything. This is why I'm saying they just say they just basically it looks good.

[00:44:45] Shadow announced a switch to title right there. For some reason, that particular image makes me think of doom. Yeah, I mean, I just we had so much a lot of very graphic intensive a lot of demos of games that are supposed to be amazing and next level.

[00:45:08] And, you know, the trailers, the trailers have been all the all. Yeah, that's true. That's true. You know, and a lot of them lately have not not risen to the occasion, let's say, you know, so

[00:45:25] I just look at you can you can put out you can put out an amazing gameplay, amazing footage on the most powerful PC, you know, that you got. But once it finally hits the actual hardware, you know, like we'll see, we'll see. Well, they were showing.

[00:45:43] I mean, we already know they were showing off Breath of the Wild running in 4K on the switch to at Gamescom. So the hardware is already there. That's where I'm saying this is going to be a switch to so.

[00:46:01] I'm not wrong, but I'm down and I'm on I'm on the not switch to yet. Yeah, I think it's going to be very much looking at this detail. Interesting. But do you but how early in 2025 do you think it's going to be since you

[00:46:19] think it's going to be a switch to time? I holiday because you thought you thought holiday, didn't you? No. So we were thinking my thought was you look at the switch to now they pushed it back into 2025 fiscal year or into next year.

[00:46:36] So I think it's going to be second quarter. That's pretty. I I really think you I really think you probably see an announcement of the switch to probably October, November, or they slide it into January right after Donkey Kong comes out and then it's March and then

[00:47:07] and then I think you're going to be looking at probably a May or June release. Hmm. Kobelix thinking that it's March 2025 in chat, I'm thinking that even if you do have it, it's going to be like end of summer. Like and a Q2, beginning of Q3.

[00:47:28] Oh, you mean you mean Leo is in the chat? He did he did text me. Leo, love you, buddy. He did text me and say enough for the Funko talk. Oh, love you, my Funkos. Yeah. So that's where I'm thinking it's I mean, March, I could see March.

[00:47:50] Right. And then if you're going to do a March release date, then you're going to I think you're going to show it off and and and announce it probably September, October and give it that six month runway almost to get your your marketing up

[00:48:07] and running and everything like that, which honestly, if it's just an upgrade over the switch, you don't really need any marketing for it. You know, I mean, you don't really don't need any marketing period unless it's the way like this and both sold out.

[00:48:20] But I really I really think it's probably going to be May, May or June. Interesting. Interesting interesting call outs on both both parties. Yeah, I think both can hold true. Who knows? Who knows? We'll see. And

[00:48:41] I think we need to get Leo back on here one of these days. Absolutely. He keeps having these trips that we can't have him on for Leo. Anyway, so but yeah, it'll be interesting to see where things things play out with that.

[00:48:57] But just want to remember this day, June 18th, where it was announced, calling my shot finally. Yeah. So at this point, if they release it June, right, then we'd be looking at about a year. So the question is, how is that?

[00:49:16] How do you also line it up with timings of summer game fest and IGN Live? That's going to be the other feel like a year is a tight thing. Oh, they've been already going to get delayed. I don't think so.

[00:49:29] They've already we still we still have the tendency right now. Things are getting delayed. Yeah. Yeah. So it's if you say it's going to be a launch tile, that means that they're already mass producing starting to get such twos on the on the horizon,

[00:49:46] because you know it's going to be sold out day one. Yes. It's I will be you better have your bot ready to buy you one. So I will be probably grabbing two of them at launch. Yeah. You better have your bots ready, sir. That's me.

[00:50:05] Just go into the store, get it preordered, just show up the you know, day of I like GameStop and go, hey, I need to preorder it. Or we get a part time job at Best Buy Target or whatever. Infiltrate, employee insight and you know. Yeah. So yeah.

[00:50:28] So overall, though, still like we were talking about it. Overall, it's a solid direct hit all the different ones. The kids games hit the cozy games, hit the fighting games, RPG, strike games and franchise Samus. So. Anyways, so I'm going to start with Theo. What you been playing?

[00:50:50] Theo, what are you playing? What are you really much? Would you? The question is, what do you hunt? What am I hunting? Yeah, that's right. I don't hunt anything in destiny. We talk about it. I'm not I'm not like you that go fishing and red dead.

[00:51:10] You're ruining the joke. I saw that you were a hunter. What do you want? You're killing enemies, man. Way to go. The dad joke you've ruined the bed. Now I feel old. Well, sir, you are the youngest one here. So you are. Yeah, you are.

[00:51:32] Now I've been playing a lot of destiny playing card every now and then. I've been I've been loving this DLC. They they fricking rocked it. Nice. I mean, if in from high level, you're only seeing this like, oh, there's only one new map, but the map is massive.

[00:51:53] There's technically one new enemy, but like they just got really creative with everything. And the new subclass with Prismatic is absolutely insane. I thought I was I was going to be a little skeptical about it because I thought it kind of like limited

[00:52:12] the kind of combos you could do, but they reworked things to where that you could have endless combos and it's fricking amazing. Sweet. The cinemas, the cinematic clips have been coming on my feet and it's been it's understanding. It's cool. And oh, my God.

[00:52:34] If you end up finding the spoilers, I would imagine there's a spoiler out there, but the end scene or the campaign with almost make me cry. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I saw the full thing. I saw it. You did. It was good. It was really good.

[00:52:52] Should I say it, Matt? I don't want to ruin it. It was a proper. It was a proper send off. I mean, if you want to find it online or go for it. So it was it was very sweet.

[00:53:04] We all know Cade Six comes back and we find out that it is filling. Like you were right. I listen to it. It's totally fill in. Yeah, great. And we find out that he, Traveller brought him back using light.

[00:53:20] But in the end or the campaign, you take down the witness, but you end up losing your ghost. So he sacrifices his light to bring back your ghost so you can have your friend back. Hmm. And the way he kind of like goes, it's like.

[00:53:47] It was like a cherry on top moment, like it was it was it's good. It would give it a watch. It's good. And then case in point, the is the news of all is going to be at Fan Expo Denver. So no offense to the actor.

[00:54:06] I love him, but I did not like he's not. But there's you. You're not going to replace Lance Reddick. Yeah, I know. But it wasn't a matter of the voice itself, but it was the mannerisms that he just didn't capture for me. Well, that's what I'm saying.

[00:54:26] You cannot replace Lance Reddick. That's just. Just like if they try to replace him, like actually bring him back for the next horizon, right? Right. Whoever they bring back is just never going to be. Good enough, I think. It would be tough to fill very tough shoes. Yep.

[00:54:47] Yeah. So Jason, what you been playing? I am on chapter 12 right now. Oh, yeah. Right before the date. So that's what I'm at right now, Jerry. There's 14 chapters, right? Yeah. But right now,

[00:55:07] we'll go to the side right before the date to try and do a few side missions, play some of that out, have some fun a little bit. Now, Jason, I just want to put it out there for you is that once you beat the game,

[00:55:23] you can go back to any chapter you want and finish off side quests. Oh, yeah. Yeah. I'm not. I just want to do a little bit of Queen's Blood. You know, had some fun with that. But because. Tortoise in the hair, my friend, tortoise in the hair. Whatever.

[00:55:45] You have to finish a game, Jerry. Finish a game. I feel like that's a poor analogy in Jerry's favor because the tortoise was was consistent and going. And I'm expecting from Jerry's update he has not been playing. So he is not the tortoise here. Jerry, Jerry,

[00:56:07] tell the boys, hold on, tell the boys, be honest. What did you start playing that has taken Final Fantasy seven time away? They say we're dead to be seen. Man, work's been crazy and they were dead to so right.

[00:56:27] You know, I've been I watched a couple of Westerns lately that were like suggestions from coworkers. And it got me kind of like thinking, man, it has been a while. So I fired I fired Red Dead Up and Westerns. Let's see, like Open Range.

[00:56:47] I was I'm finishing up Yellowstone is open range. That's the that's a prime video show, right? No, it's a it's a movie from with Kevin Costner. Oh, sorry, Robert DeVille. Outer Range is the prime video one. Yeah. Oh, that's what the Josh Brolin. Yeah. But yeah. So

[00:57:10] I've been pretty much playing Red Dead like stop the last couple of days. I restarted the entire story. I'm going through the entire thing. I have I'm already like. I think I'm in the second or third chapter,

[00:57:29] and then I've just stopped with the stories because I started hunting again. Yeah, so I mean, screw you. What do you mean screw me? Like how dare you, sir? Don't worry, bro. Don't you worry. I want to catch up. I'm at chapter 11. It's doable. I can catch up.

[00:57:52] So don't worry. Yeah, you're at the good part, man. Like, what the heck? Don't worry about you. Heck, I can't help it, dude. I love to fish and I love to hunt. It's it's red. And I'm doing like you like to just

[00:58:04] tease yourself from finishing game, getting to the good part of all. When when he likes to tease us more than he likes to tease himself. When did this become a thing that I don't finish games? I finish games. I'm going to make me go get a human.

[00:58:19] What? What? Go right ahead. I will defend him. He finishes way more games than I do. Yeah, I finish games. Boom. Yeah, it just takes some of them. Take me a minute. Few years. OK, I feel you. You know, you know that much.

[00:58:37] Anyways, we are coming up on the date scene and I already I already know who I'm getting, so I'm not surprised because I wanted to. Who are you getting? No, it's my girl, man. That's number one wife of man. Almost, you know, what? Anyways, agreed you got to.

[00:58:57] Anyways, so I'm going to have her once I do start the whole date scene. It's going to be fun. It's going to be cool. No idea what's going to happen. Yeah. But yeah, we're going that just. Trying to clean, trying to, you know,

[00:59:16] doing work, I have work at night, you know, nothing much else. Yeah, nice. Other than read that to you. You're going to try and play something else or should I just skip over to Matt? No, I'm going to I'm going to get back to Final Fantasy.

[00:59:36] It's just I'm just saying you. I'm going to get back to it. Don't you times two times in a row, you just like tickle your balls at the very end, sir, like you just like you're there. But come on, bro.

[00:59:49] I did not need a mental picture of Jerry tickling his own balls. Come on now. Oh, my God. I do. How was that again? Jason? Oh, there's a sound effect to a little. No, don't ruin Big Jero six for me. Don't do that. No. But a little.

[01:00:13] No, don't. I don't need Jerry's balls. So I know what Jerry's playing. It's more mass effect. I now have the I now have Garrus and Morden and Zahid all unlocked, completed the Heads loyalty mission already locked a couple of other trophies for it

[01:00:36] on my way to the Citadel now to go. Go meet Keith David's other character, Councilman Anderson now a little bit of Gran Turismo. It's more baseball as your baseball season. Yeah, how are you doing? I am a game back of the Dodders now. Oh, I am now.

[01:01:01] How does it happen in real life, too? That you it's not even a question. You suck. I'm not even a question. They they they suck this year. Like badly. No, it's not even however. Oh, wait. Hold on. The Rockies are being the Dodgers eight to four right now.

[01:01:23] Oh, I didn't check today. I got the job. I don't know who is not a consistent thing. So it's not like it matters. No, but it's still a win. It's a win right now at this point. Who is on the mound for the Dodgers? Oh,

[01:01:41] Walker Buehler gave up seven runs in six in or in four innings. Yeah, four innings, seven hits, seven runs, one walk, two strikeouts, gave up two home runs. All right. Top of seven. But when we look at the overall records, the Rockies are 25 to 30.

[01:02:09] Overall records, the Rockies are 25 and 47 and only the Marlins and the White Sox are worse than them. So, you know, anyway, so from the bottom, yeah, they're from the bottom. Right. Might as well just play for the draft pick at this point better than two

[01:02:34] of the teams. That's something. Yeah. Just honestly, just get the 500. That's all I fucking care about right now. I don't want to rebuilding team is rebuilding. There you go. There you go. That's what I say. They've got dead money and Chris Brian, he keeps ending up on the

[01:02:52] fricking DL. That's what I always say every time I talk to anybody about any sports. Oh, the team is rebuilding, sir. The team is rebuilding at this point. So too much. But but yeah, other than that, I will say Jason and Jerry, you'll be proud of me.

[01:03:13] I actually was able to get a hold of a physical copy of Metroid Prime Remastered. Sweet. There is there is motive behind it. Nice because it is going to Fan Expo with me. Because, oh, sweet.

[01:03:28] Not only am I going to have Jennifer Hale sign my Mass Effect Trilogy and and Leo, it's my trilogy art book. Oh, he text me in the background something. So I'm just saying that's mine. But Jennifer Hale recorded some of the stuff for Samus Aron in Metroid Prime.

[01:03:52] So I'm going to have her sign that one as well. Sweet. I'm not going to lie. That is because I don't even that's a dumb question, but I really don't know the answer to. Yes, they have a draft. Yes, they do. Really? Yes. Yeah. It's like 10 rounds.

[01:04:09] Like it's ridiculously long. Do they tell us? Actually, it's more than that. It's more than that. I wouldn't feel that they do. MLB Network televises the first couple of rounds. That doesn't count. That's kind of cheating. I feel like there's a code because it's a paid service.

[01:04:24] Yeah. Yeah. I don't know if they do it on ESPN. But yes, there is a draft. Interesting. Interesting. That's a good one. Yeah. So too many too many people on baseball. It's just oh my God. So anyways, besides that,

[01:04:42] just want to thank everybody for crashing game night with us tonight, especially thank you everyone. Dude, now we need you. We need to back on. So for those that are just listening to this episode,

[01:04:56] the one, the only scooter from the tester was in chat harassing Jason and Theo. But go check out his past episodes over on Crashing Game Night dot com and we will have him back on again soon enough. But I know it's first time catching us.

[01:05:16] Hey, thank you for giving us a chance tonight. I feel like we should head on over to crashing game night dot com drops follow on the platform of your choice, whether that's Twitch, YouTube or an audio platform

[01:05:27] and just honestly with everything going on right now in the world, I know just depending on where you're at, you're dealing with tornadoes, you're dealing with other things, just please, please just be excellent to each other. That's right, everybody.

[01:05:42] All you nerds out there, I want you to once again just follow our our state and we just want to once again just promote our same message out there. You do you, you be you. And once again, let's just try and be and do a little bit better

[01:06:06] and just try and be better, lend a helping hand or just try and do a little good out there because it's crazy out there still. And a lot of people are throwing their opinions around and it's valid. It's just, you know, we have to also

[01:06:25] start a little bit of patience and try and just listen more, I think, and be a little bit more open. So let's just try and help each other out and be safe out there. Thank you all. And yeah, once again, you be you. Booya. God damn Jason.

[01:06:48] Thank you. I'm waiting for that. God. I did the safe segue there. I was like, no, no, I'm just saying you just pause my bad. My bad. Final fantasy. You know, it's like Jesus. Anyways, guys, he wouldn't understand that because he hasn't finished it. No, but he's positive.

[01:07:09] He's like slowing down. Yo, come on, man. Come on. Anyways, guys, you know, it is hopefully I was all had a good father's day and we didn't get to say happy father's day to you. Yeah, it was the only dad of the group.

[01:07:24] You know, we do have no dad jokes all the time. And we we talk smack on you all the time for being, you know, the oldest one, you know, the one with the kids. But, you know, hopefully had a good father's day, man. Yeah, no, it was good.

[01:07:40] Good. And it was it is and we were literally at the halfway mark of the year. You know, it's got six more months to go and six down, six to go. So, you know, we're doing it, guys. Twenty twenty four has been quite an interesting year.

[01:08:00] You know, we have a lot of games that that need to come out sooner. Now, a lot of games that are just like, you know, taking its time. But, you know, we all need that little little break. Getting bored, Jason. Nah, nah, need that little break, man.

[01:08:17] You know, it's just like, you know, I have to say this, you know, I have to say this because, you know, I haven't heard any Marvel news in the last couple of weeks, so, you know, twenty twenty four is looking like it's turning around now, guys.

[01:08:32] You know, I'm glad for it. You know, we don't have any Marvel news that we need to keep talking about. No new shows. The boys is back. Boys is back. Yeah, so, you know, we got that we got Fox Machina coming back for season three

[01:08:47] in October, you know, we got Deadpool coming out. There is Deadpool in the brain. Deadpool's all right. Like it's where is it in the canon? Who knows? You know, it's going to retcon everything that's been wrong or all the TV shows.

[01:09:01] There's a lot of on screen and off like a lot of it so jaded, but it's OK. We were sarcasm. I could read like we're reading from you. You're just exuding right now. I mean, the people love it, you know, out there. I got fans, you know, like,

[01:09:21] boy, VK, you know, he's on my team on this screen, guys. But I still align. I'm just going to steal a line right now. Oh, we're going to steal a line. How dare you, sir? Anyways, you know, it's been a good six months, you know,

[01:09:39] like the other guys said, Matt, Jerry, you know, be nice to each other. Be kind, you know, it's it's we're halfway through, guys. So, you know, let's look forward to 2025 when we have a lot more interesting and fun stuff coming out.

[01:09:53] No holidays this year is a little bit a little bit tame, which is OK. You know, we just finished E3 week, quote unquote. So, you know, it's all it's all good. It's all fun and good. But, you know, it's all fun and good.

[01:10:09] This right here, my man, my man, Bill Walski. Oh, God, it feels so good to say that. He was like, you always do. That's right. I feel like Jason got just a little bit of a chub right there. Well, well, just a little bit. Oh, Lord.

[01:10:32] Well, I mean, I needed a different picture than tickling Jerry's balls. So I need to change it up a little bit. But all our listeners to our watchers, thank you so much. Till next time, TTFN, ta ta for now. Goodnight, everybody. Not everybody. Big Hero 6. Don't do it.
