[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_03]: And with that, I want to welcome everybody to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt DeUario, your host as always.
[00:00:16] [SPEAKER_03]: And tonight we have a special guest. So when I've been trying to get on the show for a little bit and just scheduling conflicts and all that but
[00:00:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Tech Extraordinaire, Streamer, Gaming Host, all around just jack of all trades. Trisha Hershberger is joining us tonight.
[00:00:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for having me. It is a pleasure. We've got the Be Need One, Gerard Barrera. How are you everyone? Trisha, thank you so much for joining.
[00:00:46] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't wait to get into it. Can't wait to hear your story because man going through your cycle of work. Yeah. Oh my gosh.
[00:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Too much. Don't do it. Right? But so impressive and so many different facets like very impressive and I can't wait to get into it.
[00:01:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And we are down the babyface one. The video is a bummer at work as usual old work.
[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_03]: And lastly, Sporton the classic Donkey Kong shirt. There he is. Come on man. Is our matriodia services. The man with the couch. The man, the myth, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Baledio.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: How's it going guys? How's it going? Trisha, thank you so much. Welcome to our little couch that we have here at Crashing Game Night.
[00:01:37] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, hopefully you enjoy yourself as well as we're going to enjoy having you on the podcast tonight.
[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a perfect gaming couch if I do say so myself. It needs an upgrade. I need to get a new one. I know it's been a while since I've had this one.
[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I got to go shopping, you know. We'll shop a little bit around for a new one. I gotta upgrade.
[00:01:58] [SPEAKER_02]: It's hard to find the right couch though. Yeah, because you know you got to make sure it's long enough and then you know problems get in.
[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_02]: The comfort, the cushion. Yeah, the cushions. You know, you got to make sure like.
[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_03]: It's kind of been Jason's thing to know to have a couch since we did our first live stream a couple years ago with some of the Final Fantasy 7 guys.
[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, like you ain't got a couch. Yeah, at the same time too. You know, I gotta like find it when it's a good time because then you know.
[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, get fresh butts on the seats. You know, these have been kind of worn down a little bit but there's some good times. Good times on the couches, you know?
[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. So so, Tricia, how are you doing? Because we were supposed to have you on last week, but then you got well to go up to San Fran for the Google Pixel reveal.
[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, I went up for the Meet by Google event. It was awesome. But I was so sad that we had to reschedule because we've been trying to get this on the books for so long.
[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's kind of the nature of freelance work, right? You know, books and things and inevitably that's when some when more work comes along.
[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: And being parents and having kids and. Yes, and all of that. But maybe Google was awesome. I got to see the Pixel 9 launch and the Pixel Watch 3 and the Buds Pro 2 and the new Fold, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold.
[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, wow. So I will tell you I only got about 30 seconds of hands-on time with each device because everyone there was like, my turn, my turn.
[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, man. So you know, we were all there trying to get our content. But I do believe I'll get at least a Pixel 9 review device in the mail that I'll be able to make.
[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: Very cool. Nice. Nice.
[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'll just box them out next time. You know, I actually faltered too much in the other direction. And then I've got, oh no, you do it. I'll just wait over here. I'll do it when you're done.
[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_04]: No, we got to teach us some moves. We got to teach us some moves.
[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I get nervous that people are watching me. And like when I go to events, I never know what type of coverage I want to do because there's so many different digital content creation mediums out there nowadays.
[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. Like, and I'm not, I mean, I haven't made YouTube my main thing in years. So it's like, I'm not just there to create a YouTube video or just there to make vertical content or just there to take photos.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I'm kind of trying to do it all. And then therefore, I don't, I don't know. I should go in with a better game plan is what I learned and then I'll blow people out of the way.
[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know whatever you're doing is working because you keep getting asked to all these events though. Yeah, I mean, including Borderlands, you know.
[00:04:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, the borderlands premiere was really fun. I mean, I had been following the news about the film for a while, I think is a lot of us have. But when I was invited to the Los Angeles premiere and fan event and they were like, we're going to set up a moxies bar and I was like, okay, that sounds fun.
[00:05:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I want to go to that.
[00:05:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah. And the cosplayers they had for it were insanely good. Like I saw some of your posts, your pictures and whatnot. And I've got another buddy of ours that was down there for two and I was like, man, those are excellent.
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: They did a great job.
[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_03]: I get it. I get to ask you in the background. Is that a statue of Jessica Rabbit? Yes. Yes.
[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes. And then I have so many random things on this back wall that, you know, they're a little bit bulkhead out. So it's kind of hard to see that is my childhood movie who frame Roger. I love Roger Rabbit. Yeah.
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah. I have her in the back of all my videos because when I first started making online content, we're going to get real for a second here.
[00:05:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Go for it. Origin story.
[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Online content. Everybody, you know, on that channel, which by the way, we were talking about news stories. And everyone on the channel was like, oh yeah, like she basically because I am a bustier woman, I'm asking for these types of comments.
[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And there was a lot of that. And so not only have I been a fan of Jessica Rabbit for years, but I really like the like reminder of don't judge people based on their body type. She's not bad just because she's drawn that way.
[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_03]: She's just drawn it away.
[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_01]: She's the one bunny woman. Oh yeah.
[00:06:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You know, don't make assumptions about her behavior because she's curvaceous.
[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's why she's in the background of myself.
[00:06:29] [SPEAKER_03]: That's right. Yeah.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_03]: And then you've got Captain Carter shield back there.
[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: And Captain Carter shield. Yeah, and Mandalorian.
[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And the loving is all the schmutz of stuff in the corner here is a 3d printed replica of Ray's staff from Star Wars.
[00:06:50] [SPEAKER_01]: A replica, a Weta Workshop replica of Gandalf staff. And then master sword, a blacksmith made master sword are.
[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_01]: And you can't really see them all over there.
[00:07:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I need more room.
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[00:07:04] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm running out of room in my office and trying to organize everything so you can see it like.
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm probably going to move my desk so everyone can see my bookshelves again.
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Because like over on the side, I've got all my fantasia stuff. I've got all my PlayStation and Nintendo and whatnot.
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_03]: And then on the other side of the wall, I've got my custom lightsaber up on a wall.
[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_03]: Like I want to be able to get that up there and whatnot. So.
[00:07:28] [SPEAKER_01]: And what's the poster behind you, Matt? You have a PlayStation poster, but I can't see what it is.
[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_03]: That's from PlayStation Experience 2016.
[00:07:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, I have.
[00:07:38] [SPEAKER_03]: I've never got a chance to go, but I love this, the whole waterfall and everything.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Design. So it was something I saw in eBay once and I was like, yes.
[00:07:48] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was able to get a hold of a second one for Jerry and send that out to him.
[00:07:53] [SPEAKER_03]: So he's got one floating around, but.
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, and on one wall, I've got Uncharted and Metroid and Zelda and Horizon and just complete gamers.
[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_03]: So, but let's let's talk your origin story though really because like and folks that are tuning in, you guys can go right on over to crashing game night.
[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_03]: We've got a profile built for Tricia links and everything.
[00:08:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yes, the whole thing I had you fill out is live and active on the website so they can actually go check out your your links and whatnot.
[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But when you look at it, right? You've been, you know, a TV host.
[00:08:27] [SPEAKER_03]: You've been to all these different tech events you've worked with Nintendo.
[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Of course, Google like we talked about and Dell and Twitch and Intel, you know, Mattel.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_03]: And I'm like, the list goes on and on.
[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_03]: It's Jerry's point, right? It's insanely long when you go look at your actual website on everything you've actually worked on and stuff like that.
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_03]: But you were on the Nerdist source feed fandom.
[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_03]: So what got you into even going into this as a profession.
[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: So great question.
[00:08:59] [SPEAKER_01]: And when I first got started doing this, this wasn't like a career.
[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_01]: It wasn't a thing that people were doing, right? This was 2011 2012 when I kind of, I always say I like tripped and fell into digital content because I was a theater nerd.
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_01]: That's like as a kid, I played a lot of video games, but I was a theater nerd can't sing or dance to save my life.
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_01]: So let me give that just.
[00:09:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but I went to school to learn how to do Shakespeare, graduate a college and realize, wait a second. This was real dumb. No one pays you to do Shakespeare.
[00:09:34] [SPEAKER_00]: That's not a career.
[00:09:36] [SPEAKER_00]: What? I just wasted four years of college money.
[00:09:40] [SPEAKER_00]: Learning how to do Shakespeare and check off like I loved it. It fed my artistic soul, right? But I was like, what, how do I get hired now? What?
[00:09:47] [SPEAKER_01]: So I moved out to LA and just basically started auditioning for anything and everything. And I booked a couple things here and there, commercial wise and stuff like that.
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_01]: But I didn't know anybody. So I very rarely could get my foot in the door to even get the audition.
[00:10:03] [SPEAKER_01]: So it's like, at least I don't have to feel bad that it's because my acting sucks because I'm not even auditioning for them to tell me my acting.
[00:10:10] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm not even getting that far. Right.
[00:10:14] [SPEAKER_01]: And one day I went to an audition that said it was for online news host, and I was like, all right, well, that's better than the waitressing shift I was going to take this morning. So that's cool.
[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_01]: And I went in for it. And it was just like an audition that was publicly available online. So I submitted and they called me in.
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_01]: And I did some newsreads off index cards. And as soon as I finished my newsreads, they said, do you play video games?
[00:10:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Which I was like, oh my God, totally not related, but that's cool.
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, yes, actually, I was a theater nerd. So I didn't have a lot of friends and I spent a lot of time playing video games like my whole childhood.
[00:10:53] [SPEAKER_00]: So yes, what console are we talking about? What generation of gaming? And I just had like a real nice chat with them about games.
[00:11:02] [SPEAKER_01]: And then they were like, do you happen to know anything about tech? And I was like, why yes I do. I like step by way and just see, yes, three years running and had built my own PCs.
[00:11:15] [SPEAKER_01]: And like, we just had the loveliest conversation basically about gaming tech.
[00:11:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Everything falling together. Yeah, the kind of books I read the kind of shows I watch the kind of movies I like. And let me tell you normally when I went for like on camera hosting auditions, the interview after is where I lost the job.
[00:11:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Because they would be like, what do you know about celebrity gossip? Like, because it's like for interviewer or something. And I'm like legitimately I don't know anything about that. I spent most of my free time in my bedroom playing Diablo, which is probably this game you've never heard of.
[00:11:54] [SPEAKER_01]: It's cool. I'll just leave now.
[00:11:55] [SPEAKER_01]: But this audition, like the questions they asked, I was like, okay. And I remember leaving the audition and thinking I have no idea what that job was actually auditioning for.
[00:12:07] [SPEAKER_01]: But I think I nailed it.
[00:12:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Nice.
[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_01]: And so the next day they called me in and it ended up being for a channel called Source fed that at the time I was called in for that audition. It wasn't even called source fed yet. It was called 20 minutes or less.
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And it had three hosts and they were bringing them in five days a week. And like, it was like just starting out YouTube channel. And so when they when one of their three hosts needed to go to the dentist, let's say they were like, I don't know what to do.
[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_01]: So they were hiring for people to rotate in and what I found out later after they had me on the proper news show.
[00:12:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Quite a few times, they wanted to launch like a nerd news offshoot channel. And that's why at my audition they were asking me about gaming and tech and what movies I like and stuff like that.
[00:12:58] [SPEAKER_01]: But they never put that anywhere in the audition breakdown. So it was 100% just to like right place, right time. Like I'm sure the other news hosts that came in if they were like, do you play video games? They were like, Yeah, you know, like, it was definitely just a right place, right time.
[00:13:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And then that show ended up being a full time hosting job for me. The channel got bought by Discovery Digital Networks. So we were Discovery Channel employees after a bit. We won two streaming awards like it was like a whole thing.
[00:13:33] [SPEAKER_01]: But that definitely kicked my pants into gear in terms of digital media, because you know I was out here auditioning for I used to say like if it pays and I don't have to take my clothes off I will take that job.
[00:13:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm like, I just want to do a job. It's fun. And so yeah, like that job was the first job where they were like what's your Twitter handle. And I said, Oh, I don't have one of those and they were like you're making one right now.
[00:14:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I didn't care about Twitter until 2015. And the only reason I even started up is because video who's not here, we got invited. We won the public tickets for the Bethesda Presser for E3 2015.
[00:14:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, maybe we saw each other there. That's right. But it was yes. So like I had gone to 2014 I was like oh this is really cool. You know like let's try and do this because the UNI worked for IBM.
[00:14:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay. How we got into E3 with industry passes was because as a lot of people may not know this but you know IBM helped co-design the cell processor and they helped co-design the Broadway trip for the Wii.
[00:14:51] [SPEAKER_03]: So they were technically gaming. And we had, we're like we have no buying power. They're like here you come on in and for 2015 they had put out a little contest that for people that you can enter in to get public tickets to the presser.
[00:15:06] [SPEAKER_03]: And I was like what's the worst thing to happen? I'm not going to win. Here we go. And it was like sure enough so we altered our flights and everything so we could make that presser.
[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_04]: That's great. Yeah, I remember that year. I was so jealous when you guys got that. Yeah. That was so cool.
[00:15:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Gerard you weren't there?
[00:15:24] [SPEAKER_04]: We were there. Jason and I were there for E3 but we weren't there for the presser. But we were so ecstatic but we were like oh dude that's going to be so, we were jealous.
[00:15:33] [SPEAKER_03]: That's the funny part. We met because of E3 and I think that's what makes E3 going away so sad for me is because 2014 Gerard and I were in line for Disney Infinity.
[00:15:45] [SPEAKER_03]: They had that big old massive display and we just started talking PlayStation and we're like hey let's exchange our PlayStation gamer tags and all that and we decided to meet up in 15
[00:15:58] [SPEAKER_03]: and years later we're all stuck with each other.
[00:16:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Like even the podcast came about because of us standing in line for Resident Evil 2.
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_04]: One year in E3.
[00:16:13] [SPEAKER_03]: 2018.
[00:16:14] [SPEAKER_04]: And this was like our three waiting in line while of course we saw nothing but press like kind of you know go in front.
[00:16:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Rightfully so we understand but this is when like click we were like okay we need to see how like what does it take to get media passes?
[00:16:39] [SPEAKER_01]: You need to start a podcast.
[00:16:40] [SPEAKER_03]: And we didn't make it enough by numbers in 2019.
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_03]: 2020 rolled around.
[00:16:49] [SPEAKER_03]: You know when they started doing all the passes and stuff pre-COVID.
[00:16:54] [SPEAKER_03]: We got the, we got the football letter.
[00:16:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Media passes.
[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_03]: And then two weeks later it's like no it's canceled for COVID.
[00:17:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Lock it down.
[00:17:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Lock it down.
[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep and then of course we know the rest is history with E3.
[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_04]: So there's just that little hole that we were like we were really hoping to get at least one year of media passes to kind of full circle the moment.
[00:17:21] [SPEAKER_02]: We had it all planned out you know like me and Theo are going to be the camera guys you know Matt and J are going to be on the couch like and we're just like alright.
[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Just watching is like yo we can see all these things like straight up and you know have somebody to have a representative because you know we know that a lot of representatives come and talk to you about whatever the whatever is being advertised and we're like okay that would be so sick just to have a one on one versus like trying to like
[00:17:48] [SPEAKER_02]: Hey over here can you like help me out and then just talk to real quick like get that like 30 seconds and you're like okay well I gotta help somebody else now.
[00:17:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Well there's always a pass you could do a pass or two.
[00:18:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah so I was going to say there are other conventions that we can you know always try and go for and like you know complete it that way.
[00:18:10] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So how did you feel I mean honestly for being around gaming for so long how did you feel though when we all finally got the announcement that e3 literally the final mail was putting the coffin and we weren't getting it back.
[00:18:23] [SPEAKER_01]: We had all seen it coming for years but it was still really sad I mean you guys mentioned being at E3 in 2015 2015 was like peak E3 2014 2015 like yeah I just I have you walk in the door.
[00:18:39] [SPEAKER_01]: I have memories.
[00:18:40] [SPEAKER_03]: There's EA.
[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Years at E3 that it breaks my heart like it was you know it was a time when lots of people could get together and just celebrate how much we love games and like now the kind of everyone's doing their own online pressers and stuff like that.
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like the gaming community at large is much more segregated by genre of game and sometimes even by title of game.
[00:19:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And we don't really like there's not really that same sense of community of like oh you love games I love games too this is awesome you know like that's that's what you could feel in a very tangible way at E3 every year.
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:19:22] [SPEAKER_01]: You know E3 went through its struggles of are we media only are we a fan event are we we don't know what we are are we both or music than you like they fried so many different things and it just it didn't work and then of course as we all know once pandemic hit and all the majors started pulling out and doing their own thing.
[00:19:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Then where was the money coming from and we see how it went but it's it's very sad I think for the game.
[00:19:49] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah I think to your point seeing it on the on the wall right I think was it 2016 was when EA pulled out and started doing a live.
[00:19:57] [SPEAKER_03]: I think that was the first the first domino where they started doing a play.
[00:20:02] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think it was like one of you guys said it said it too like that year when we went you can feel it like like when he was wasn't there.
[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you said that was the first domino that year you can feel it like it's yeah something missing.
[00:20:20] [SPEAKER_04]: And then it just it just trickled on from there.
[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But hopefully you know what I mean with Jeff Keely doing summer game fast and if he can get that a little bit bigger.
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_03]: I don't know I didn't see any numbers on like how IGN live did you know they kind of did that right around summer game fast.
[00:20:36] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_03]: You know hopefully one of them can kind of pick up and be that tent pole for the summer you know around June like we had it.
[00:20:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah it feels like honestly both of them might IGN was really focused on being a fan event and summer game fast the in person event was press only.
[00:20:55] [SPEAKER_01]: So it was kind of like those two halves of E3 split apart.
[00:20:59] [SPEAKER_02]: Which I mean it does make sense and again like having just fans and just having just press because there are certain things that press are more interested in versus the fans they're just like oh I want to see gameplay I want to see like footage versus the press like OK like we just need more like schematics like what's going on.
[00:21:20] [SPEAKER_02]: What can we tell people.
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah press is you know trying to get dev interviews and behind closed doors demos that are on here in Bargo and the general public isn't really interested in any of that they just want to go with do their hands on demos that aren't in Bargo that they can play right.
[00:21:36] [SPEAKER_02]: When is it coming out you know what like yeah what does it look like when we play it is it an alpha stage like not so like the fans are looking for.
[00:21:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I think too is I think not having those in person things right for even press and stuff it's it takes away from because like we've done a couple of press events for with Ubisoft specifically.
[00:22:00] [SPEAKER_03]: I know Chris Nevalta who's part of the PR for the division and ex defiant he's always inviting us to those things but it's like.
[00:22:09] [SPEAKER_03]: You know they have the B e-rails and stuff that they show you and like hey this is what's going to be you can talk to the devs a little bit but it's not the same as if we were standing there like.
[00:22:18] [SPEAKER_03]: I can remember when the order you know was there at E3 talking to the devs from ready at dawn you know which that was so fun.
[00:22:27] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah sad to say the studio has been closed down thanks Meta.
[00:22:31] [SPEAKER_03]: You know but it was great to be able to just talk to him in the moment while we're actually playing the game and everything and getting their opinions.
[00:22:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Heck we wouldn't have met the Final Fantasy guys had it not been for being on the show floor like John Eric Bentley just walked up to me and said what do you think.
[00:22:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Of it like and we just we have been great friends ever since yeah but it's like it's those types of things that I think the gaming community like you said needs it as needs it desperately.
[00:22:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes I mean that right there just having a random encounter where you meet someone that does something completely different in the gaming industry than you do but like now you're connected and you can collaborate and that's what that's about.
[00:23:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah and you know talking about you know summer events we segue right into gamescom which Jeff Keely hosted opening opening night live which 11am this morning Pacific time you know for us here in the states was over in Germany but roughly
[00:23:32] [SPEAKER_03]: you know 30 ish you know games were announced during the actual opening night live segment.
[00:23:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah a lot of those they kicked that thing off with a Tuesday of a trail teaser trailer with Borderlands for.
[00:23:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep right.
[00:23:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Yep and how early did you all call it was borderlands because I was real proud of myself as soon as they did the fire in the Phoenix.
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:23:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And the plan I was like this borderlands clearly borderlands.
[00:23:57] [SPEAKER_04]: So the Phoenix was sparking something but then the meteors were throwing me off and like but me like OK so what are the meteors about.
[00:24:05] [SPEAKER_04]: And then when they hold them out I'm like oh damn it like so no I didn't catch it right away.
[00:24:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I saw the Phoenix and I was like yep there we go.
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay that's it's borderlands but to get to Jeff's point right the fact that nothing had leaked online that we were getting borderlands.
[00:24:20] [SPEAKER_04]: I know that's really good actually.
[00:24:23] [SPEAKER_03]: And this day in age right now with all the leaks that we're having that was impressive to at least get the teaser you know they said it's coming next year so we didn't have a date or anything on it but
[00:24:33] [SPEAKER_03]: and then we got you know Black Ops 6 campaign which I think at this point we've seen so much of the campaign now it's like is there going to be any surprises left
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_03]: but what threw me off was the third thing like goat simulator that trailer that they did.
[00:24:50] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay I called super early that you really that threw me off to I was like I called it when at first I said I said like is this goat Sim and then as soon as the hoofs came down.
[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah I was like oh this is definitely goat Sim and I was I was co-streaming it with my community on Twitch and they were all like no it's not it's that's just a goat and I was like no no no you wait.
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_03]: That was it's the goat.
[00:25:19] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like I was wondering what the heck it was like up until that point right I was like this actually looks like it like you're taking all these like potentially fairy tale creatures and throwing them all in prison together.
[00:25:32] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like this could be entertaining and then all of a sudden you see the like the goat working out and it's I'm like oh yeah it's goat Sim.
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that's what was throwing me off when it was showing yeah all the different characters like oh this looks interesting and then then the working out and then the horns went oh Jesus no way.
[00:25:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah there it is.
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And then we got you know persona three dinelight and then the long trailer for black myth.
[00:25:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Woo Kong.
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Which to me the more I see that game the more it intrigues me makes me want to try it.
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_03]: It's fun.
[00:26:05] [SPEAKER_03]: And then and then I'm like at the same time I'm like I already have enough of my backlog that I'm not playing.
[00:26:12] [SPEAKER_01]: That is the parent struggle right there.
[00:26:16] [SPEAKER_01]: But yeah I mean that game I just read an article this morning saying it's the number one most played single player steam game of all time like it's already beaten.
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm playing I'm playing it right now.
[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:26:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah it's a lot of like so many people are very interesting.
[00:26:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it had that like weird content creator guidelines thing.
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:26:39] [SPEAKER_01]: How much you know out of that but that was bizarre.
[00:26:43] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that was a little weird.
[00:26:44] [SPEAKER_04]: It was well it is a foreign company but yeah so you know they have different rules but that was that was weird.
[00:26:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah they had like extra hey here's a free copy of the game but also don't talk about any of these things we don't like that.
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_01]: And of course for people in the United States they were like wait you're going to tell me to not talk about what exactly.
[00:27:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_03]: You know we got a bunch of different like new studios and stuff that announcing stuff and I thought one of the ones you know you've got links banner of the spark from fuzzy bot that looks like it'd be a lot of fun you know get and play that.
[00:27:26] [SPEAKER_03]: The one that the trailer really kind of hooked me though it's path of exile.
[00:27:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, so interesting.
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_01]: I got to play a little bit of path of exile to it summer game fast play days this summer.
[00:27:39] [SPEAKER_05]: Sick.
[00:27:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I enjoyed it immensely I cannot wait for that to come out now I feel like I've already mentioned Diablo at least once this podcast but like that's great.
[00:27:50] [SPEAKER_01]: That's one of the games I grew up on.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah.
[00:27:52] [SPEAKER_01]: So like path of exile and path of exile to being I mean I call them Diablo likes because they are.
[00:28:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, you know and especially with like people not really being so thrilled with Diablo three and you know trying to be helpful for the future of Diablo.
[00:28:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Let me just tell you path of exile to is great.
[00:28:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Really good.
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Really really good.
[00:28:18] [SPEAKER_02]: What are the issues everyone's having with Diablo three because like, I mean, and before like I've been before it's it's I mean, and it's for me for me.
[00:28:29] [SPEAKER_02]: Diablo two was the heyday Diablo three was was okay.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_02]: Let you go through on and on so like you know when you get to paragon levels you're you're feeling it but then Diablo four just feels like a good looking Diablo three and you just didn't have as much like fun.
[00:28:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That's still Diablo four is still a vast improvement over three for me.
[00:28:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, three three I feel like took the dark and scary and was like it'll be more commercially viable if we don't do that.
[00:29:02] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's more a little bit more like just nonstop versus the you can take a break or like hey play with some friends and then it will will make it that much harder.
[00:29:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Like oh if you play a single player then, you know will spawn 10 versus if you play with four people then we'll spawn 40 for you.
[00:29:22] [SPEAKER_02]: You know it's like well okay.
[00:29:25] [SPEAKER_03]: The closest to those I've ever played in the game would be torchlight and gauntlet.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:29:32] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's a classic.
[00:29:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Can we get my gosh can we just get those back. That'd be great.
[00:29:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh, didn't you. Yeah isn't God like getting re-made. Yeah gallery was there was the gauntlet but like dark legacy right that is stuck in licensing hell and we will never get that back.
[00:29:53] [SPEAKER_03]: Right.
[00:29:55] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah so long among other things to we've got you know doing awakening that trailer was gorgeous.
[00:30:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes, and I've gotten to see quite a bit of that game as well at this point. And the more I see of it the more excited I am. I think people are going to it looks like an incredibly vast game. Yeah. Okay, especially with some of the tools and stuff like they were showing
[00:30:17] [SPEAKER_03]: like the little, the little robot and stuff and whatnot and it's like, okay.
[00:30:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not. Not only vast in the sense of like not not just a game but the customization I guess the vehicles, the weapons like you can really I guess you can really create like your style of like that human or like that that species well so
[00:30:41] [SPEAKER_04]: like yeah I saw a few videos on it's looks really interesting. Super cool.
[00:30:46] [SPEAKER_01]: Looks like a very large game. Yeah, very true to the source material too so like if people are coming into it because they're doing fans first.
[00:30:56] [SPEAKER_01]: It doesn't just feel like a video game with a dune skin. Like it they were very very faithful to it and they did a lot of things that are really interesting like you know Gerard like you were saying where you can cater how you craft things to the type of character you're
[00:31:14] [SPEAKER_01]: around or working for a certain guild, your blueprints of how to make something will be in the architectural style of that region and that guild.
[00:31:25] [SPEAKER_01]: That's cool. That's who you would have learned that from right like it totally makes sense. It's they did a really nice job it'll be cool.
[00:31:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Then right after that they led right into Monster Hunter Wilds, which looks beautiful. I mean all the I mean any of the Monster Hunter games I've ever like dabbled in which I've never really dove into them as much as this never resonated with me but they're always gorgeous games.
[00:31:49] [SPEAKER_03]: They always look so much fun. Yeah.
[00:31:54] [SPEAKER_01]: And people that are Monster Hunter people are all in Monster Hunter people. Yes, they are dedicated what I've seen from Monster Hunter Wilds.
[00:32:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Which is about I've seen about an hour of gameplay. Not that I've gotten to play that I've gotten to see someone else play.
[00:32:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But it's everything you love about Monster Hunter just more beautiful and now you can interact with the environment in different ways and they've added some quality of life improvements.
[00:32:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Like you know you don't necessarily teleport right back when you're finished a hunch or you don't have to go to a quest for to start a new hunt if you start attacking a monster it automatically.
[00:32:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Quests you. Oh cool like yeah just quality of life. Nice.
[00:32:37] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:32:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Then we've got you know they also showed off the new Starfield DLC coming which I don't for me I've played Starfield, you know and I'm not it just felt like Skyrim in space.
[00:32:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah I was going to say who's a Starfield fan here because there's none of us like I have a I have an absolute love hate with Bethesda.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_03]: And a lot of it stems back to we've talked about this before it stems back to Elder Slam.
[00:33:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh Elder Slam. Matt's love hate is I love the old stuff and I hate the new stuff.
[00:33:23] [SPEAKER_03]: But oblivion I had gone into done all the side stuff like just before I did the main quest that's how I used to play Elder Scrolls going back to dagger fall and all of that.
[00:33:33] [SPEAKER_03]: So 120 hours in I've got all the Jade armor like I'm stacked so I'm like okay let's go do the quest now.
[00:33:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Second question you have to kill two assassins.
[00:33:42] [SPEAKER_03]: The second assassin never popped.
[00:33:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And glitched. And of course back then I wasn't the gamer that I am now running multiple save files. I had one.
[00:33:53] [SPEAKER_03]: And once it auto saved, it was it that was it it was done gone. So 120 hours just went up and smoke.
[00:34:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh that would have burnt me too.
[00:34:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I have only done this once but I pulled that disk out of my system through it against the wall and broke it.
[00:34:15] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah so ever since then it's like you know we all know Bethesda's got the bugs are always something in it but I just Starfield didn't resonate with me like some of the other people it has right there are people that absolutely love the game and I will say this when your planet side on some of those remote planets it is absolutely gorgeous
[00:34:35] [SPEAKER_03]: the amount of detail that Bethesda did for the sky is how the stars are all in there the solar flare type you know on the lensing and stuff it's great just didn't resonate with me.
[00:34:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I hope the expansion does give those players enough, you know what they're what they're looking for at the game, you know and can kind of carry down a while because I know they have DLC planned out for that for a little while still.
[00:35:02] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_03]: But after that you've got.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_03]: They did Indiana Jones again, which how do you feel about Indiana Jones.
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I was super excited that we got a release date and it's coming day one with Game Pass and like nobody cared.
[00:35:22] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like wow that like for me I'm so stoked that Troy Baker does such a good voice match for Harrison Ford like doing a great job.
[00:35:31] [SPEAKER_01]: He's doing a great job.
[00:35:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
[00:35:33] [SPEAKER_01]: And like I am all for a game where I get to put on the detective hat sometimes and the action gamer hat other times, and I at a press briefing and I'm allowed to talk about this now because the embargo just went up today with the games calm launch.
[00:35:50] [SPEAKER_01]: I did confirm that they're going to have separate difficulty sliders for those two.
[00:35:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, okay.
[00:35:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, I always really appreciate because I want those puzzles as hard as they can be.
[00:36:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, like I don't know how I'm going to feel about that hand to hand combat or using that whip. So like if I can tone one down and scale the other one up. I'm a happy lady.
[00:36:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So they did say they're going to do that.
[00:36:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I think it looks good. I think it sounds good the music is perfect.
[00:36:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah.
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm excited.
[00:36:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm a little bit more skeptical. I, I'm going to watch the the trailer one more time on the gameplay. But I really want to see how it handles and how the really the gameplay for me is the biggest thing.
[00:36:38] [SPEAKER_01]: It's going to be how those punches land, how the hand.
[00:36:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, are we like what kind of first person controls are we looking kind of like Borderlands or like Far Cry or what is it being kind of compared to but same thing as the filmmaker and me.
[00:36:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Any any new story I'm down for. I just yeah gameplay is just the biggest question for me.
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_01]: We'll see. I know they showed a bit of, I don't know if they showed it today in the official presentation but the present the press presentation they showed also almost like a hit man aspect to it.
[00:37:19] [SPEAKER_01]: We're going to have to like take on different disguises to get into certain areas and cool a little bit of that gameplay in there too.
[00:37:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay, and I know they put a lot of emphasis on the feel of the hand to hand combat now none of us have felt it so we're all just going to take them at the word.
[00:37:37] [SPEAKER_01]: But maybe.
[00:37:39] [SPEAKER_04]: But yeah, I think that's interested in that too.
[00:37:41] [SPEAKER_03]: For me that's the biggest question mark for Indy is how the first person is going to feel right because you do have those aspects where they do show it in a third person.
[00:37:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And for all of those, you know all of us that are pretty much like uncharted junkies and two meter junkies, like for us that third person just feels so right.
[00:38:03] [SPEAKER_03]: So to go back to a first person, let's see how they do it because frankly for me, I'd want to see it in third person because I don't want to see myself dressed up as Indiana Jones.
[00:38:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Let me see it.
[00:38:15] [SPEAKER_02]: No, I think the first person is going to be really interesting just because like risen evil did that it went from third person to first person.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:38:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And everyone was also a good move.
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:38:25] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a hard way that people were like, Oh, you know, yeah, it's going to work because we've been so used to having for almost 20 years third person like terrible camera angles, etc, etc.
[00:38:41] [SPEAKER_02]: But now you have first person and everything is coming to you.
[00:38:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Like to your face. So I mean, it has potential.
[00:38:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm 5050.
[00:38:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I personally am just going to wait for Jerry to get it and just hang out with Jerry and play but I'm not going to probably pick it up myself.
[00:38:59] [SPEAKER_04]: There will be one day when the curiosity just gets exactly much to me and I will I will get it.
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:39:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It always happens.
[00:39:08] [SPEAKER_03]: You got it?
[00:39:09] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, I got it.
[00:39:13] [SPEAKER_03]: See, I'll just do it on X cloud and then I can do it with.
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Game pass guys.
[00:39:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep, there you go.
[00:39:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, so I don't have like an Xbox console. I just do it through X cloud for mine because there isn't enough for me. There's not enough franchises on Xbox that resonate with me outside of Halo and Forza to warrant having a console.
[00:39:35] [SPEAKER_03]: But that being said when fable hits.
[00:39:38] [SPEAKER_04]: That might.
[00:39:39] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, that's that's the other thing I'm trying to get all my ducks in order because I do want to get a console just to be ready for the like fable gears.
[00:39:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, oh man. Yeah.
[00:39:52] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm ready. I want to be waiting and most of the day one game passes also available on PC don't forget.
[00:39:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[00:40:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, yep. That's right.
[00:40:01] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, being in, you know, theos are, you know, resident PC gamer.
[00:40:08] [SPEAKER_01]: So I'm filling in for tonight.
[00:40:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Nice.
[00:40:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So with all the announcements that we've had with games calm and you know you had the Xbox presser and all of that what games are you looking forward to that are coming you know the most that are coming out over the next like six months to a year.
[00:40:24] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, Legend of Zelda Echoes of Wisdom is pretty high up there.
[00:40:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Yes.
[00:40:29] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, you're kind of you're kind of wearing the Triforce. I mean that's like also love it. Yes.
[00:40:35] [SPEAKER_01]: I wear this necklace so often that I swear one of these summers I'm going to have a Triforce tan line right here.
[00:40:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It's one of those like, you know, if you know, you know what it is, but it's not like a big Mario head or something that's going to stand out when you're out in daily life.
[00:40:53] [SPEAKER_01]: And it matches everything so I wear it all the time.
[00:40:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Um, but yeah, I mean obviously I'm a very big Zelda fan and you know I have a master sword hanging out over there.
[00:41:04] [SPEAKER_03]: The fact we're getting playable Zelda.
[00:41:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, I know right like hope it's good in the style in the style of Link's Awakening which I think for yeah, I think because it's in the style of Link's Awakening, I think it's going to be good.
[00:41:22] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, it's kind of a safe way to kind of bring it out.
[00:41:27] [SPEAKER_04]: But I'm still extremely excited I can't wait. I love the first one.
[00:41:33] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Give it to me.
[00:41:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh yeah. Oh yeah. It's going to be a good time. I'm looking forward to that. I'm looking forward to Path of Exile 2.
[00:41:41] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm looking forward to Indiana Jones.
[00:41:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean there's a bunch of good games coming out and I need to hurry up and finish Baldur's Gate 3 and Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth before all these games.
[00:41:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Dragon Age, The Veil Guard I'm so looking forward to.
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh man.
[00:41:58] [SPEAKER_03]: I feel bad because Jerry still hasn't finished Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
[00:42:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Me neither.
[00:42:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh really?
[00:42:05] [SPEAKER_01]: I should have the whole first round of the game dressed as Tifa.
[00:42:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh that's awesome.
[00:42:10] [SPEAKER_01]: And then the game was taking so long that I gave up on it.
[00:42:14] [SPEAKER_01]: The final Fantasy 7 remake I streamed the whole game dressed as Tifa.
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh that's cool.
[00:42:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like yeah we're doing the whole trilogy in Tifa Cosplay.
[00:42:22] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah I got it.
[00:42:24] [SPEAKER_01]: But the game is so long that I'm like sorry guys I can't. I can't.
[00:42:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Jerry's got till the first weekend of October to finish it.
[00:42:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Well, it's finished.
[00:42:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh you finished it?
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Yep.
[00:42:37] [SPEAKER_03]: It's about bloody time.
[00:42:39] [SPEAKER_04]: We finished it today.
[00:42:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I did not finish it alone.
[00:42:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I did have some guidance with my boy Jason.
[00:42:45] [SPEAKER_04]: I am not to say of...
[00:42:47] [SPEAKER_04]: Jakey.
[00:42:49] [SPEAKER_04]: No no no no.
[00:42:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I saw Fuffa in that room.
[00:42:51] [SPEAKER_04]: I am humbled.
[00:42:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Like you helped me out.
[00:42:55] [SPEAKER_04]: You definitely helped me out because I was literally just having trouble with the final fight.
[00:43:02] [SPEAKER_04]: The final fight with Sephiroth was the only thing and it was at the final...
[00:43:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I mean...
[00:43:09] [SPEAKER_04]: Remember when he knows that part?
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_04]: Sephiroth.
[00:43:11] [SPEAKER_04]: We will talk about the ending.
[00:43:13] [SPEAKER_01]: I know that's going to happen but no spoilers.
[00:43:16] [SPEAKER_04]: No spoilers.
[00:43:17] [SPEAKER_04]: No spoilers.
[00:43:18] [SPEAKER_04]: But just it was the final part of with Sephiroth.
[00:43:23] [SPEAKER_02]: The final fight was just having trouble with it.
[00:43:26] [SPEAKER_02]: And I just went over there and I was like you know what?
[00:43:29] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you the softball.
[00:43:31] [SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you the softball.
[00:43:32] [SPEAKER_01]: He just suggested the materia just so...
[00:43:34] [SPEAKER_04]: He adjusted a lot.
[00:43:35] [SPEAKER_04]: He adjusted a lot.
[00:43:36] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to lie.
[00:43:37] [SPEAKER_04]: He adjusted a lot of it.
[00:43:39] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm not going to lie.
[00:43:40] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah yeah yeah he definitely helped me out.
[00:43:43] [SPEAKER_04]: All right.
[00:43:44] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay now I get it.
[00:43:45] [SPEAKER_04]: Now I'm seeing it.
[00:43:46] [SPEAKER_04]: So yeah that was a lot of fun.
[00:43:47] [SPEAKER_03]: Now we won't have to disappoint the crew when we all see him for dinner.
[00:43:50] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes I am done.
[00:43:51] [SPEAKER_03]: We can actually tell them you finished their game.
[00:43:53] [SPEAKER_02]: I did.
[00:43:55] [SPEAKER_02]: We'll tell them I finished it for Jerry.
[00:43:57] [SPEAKER_02]: That's what I'm doing.
[00:43:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah we'll do it.
[00:43:59] [SPEAKER_03]: We'll do it.
[00:44:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Finish it for Jerry.
[00:44:01] [SPEAKER_03]: It's all family.
[00:44:02] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean you know Austin and Vic and Mal and John and Caleb.
[00:44:08] [SPEAKER_03]: They're all going to get a kick out of the fact that you spent all that time
[00:44:13] [SPEAKER_03]: and then had to have Jason do it for me.
[00:44:14] [SPEAKER_03]: I really didn't need help.
[00:44:16] [SPEAKER_02]: I haven't told you but I was like I have to do this and this.
[00:44:19] [SPEAKER_02]: And he was like okay got it.
[00:44:22] [SPEAKER_01]: What are friends for?
[00:44:23] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:44:24] [SPEAKER_03]: But that's the one thing with that voice acting crew.
[00:44:27] [SPEAKER_03]: We have like a standing tradition now that every year for the last couple of years
[00:44:31] [SPEAKER_03]: we've gotten together for dinner.
[00:44:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Like all of us as kids together talk about family whatever.
[00:44:36] [SPEAKER_06]: Love it.
[00:44:37] [SPEAKER_03]: You know we don't even talk about final fancy most of the time.
[00:44:40] [SPEAKER_03]: We just treat just like hey.
[00:44:41] [SPEAKER_03]: We really just catch up for the year.
[00:44:43] [SPEAKER_03]: You know we haven't seen each other in a year.
[00:44:45] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's all catch up how the kids have you know how's all that going and what not.
[00:44:48] [SPEAKER_04]: And it's always fitting we meet at a barbecue place because like we just get
[00:44:55] [SPEAKER_04]: the large table get some barbecue and we're all just yeah just.
[00:44:59] [SPEAKER_04]: Just don't get our discount.
[00:45:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that's a bummer.
[00:45:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey you had a barbecue discount in?
[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:45:05] [SPEAKER_03]: He seals.
[00:45:07] [SPEAKER_03]: He used to work for the catering department.
[00:45:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah cool.
[00:45:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah so.
[00:45:15] [SPEAKER_03]: So outside of that so anything else that you're looking forward to even on the
[00:45:19] [SPEAKER_03]: horizon outside like past path of exile and Zelda and Indy.
[00:45:23] [SPEAKER_02]: Not even game wise just like you know.
[00:45:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Movie anything.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
[00:45:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Well I mean Deadpool and Wolverines my favorite film of the year so far.
[00:45:31] [SPEAKER_03]: So good.
[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:45:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I didn't know what to top that.
[00:45:34] [SPEAKER_03]: How many times have you seen it in theaters?
[00:45:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Only once this far and I took the day off work to do it and I'd love to see
[00:45:41] [SPEAKER_01]: it again but I can't keep taking time off work.
[00:45:44] [SPEAKER_04]: So I don't know if you're an aliens fan but I just saw Romulus.
[00:45:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh it was awesome.
[00:45:51] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:45:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I saw it.
[00:45:53] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that's all I'll say.
[00:45:54] [SPEAKER_04]: It was really good.
[00:45:56] [SPEAKER_01]: I still have nightmares about Xenomorphs so I.
[00:45:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Hasn't been to see it.
[00:46:01] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh it goes back like honestly 95% of the movie felt more like the
[00:46:09] [SPEAKER_04]: first aliens.
[00:46:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Okay.
[00:46:11] [SPEAKER_04]: And I would just say I had one gripe with the movie.
[00:46:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:46:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Can you share the gripe in a non-spoilery way?
[00:46:18] [SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
[00:46:19] [SPEAKER_04]: It was.
[00:46:22] [SPEAKER_04]: I can't not really because it was at the very end really.
[00:46:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:46:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Actually that's the only thing at the very end was what I had a
[00:46:31] [SPEAKER_04]: gripe with and you'll know what I'm talking about.
[00:46:34] All right.
[00:46:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Once you get to see it.
[00:46:35] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:46:36] [SPEAKER_01]: I will see it with all the lights on very, very brightly.
[00:46:40] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm telling you no joke.
[00:46:42] [SPEAKER_04]: I was like this the reason why I enjoyed it so much was I got
[00:46:45] [SPEAKER_04]: those jump scares.
[00:46:46] [SPEAKER_04]: Like they brought it back to old alien.
[00:46:49] [SPEAKER_04]: So like I was and then like the of course you have to have a
[00:46:55] [SPEAKER_04]: burst, you know moment.
[00:46:57] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh man.
[00:46:59] [SPEAKER_04]: I knew they were going back that way.
[00:47:01] [SPEAKER_04]: It was so good.
[00:47:03] [SPEAKER_03]: The newest trailer that they released.
[00:47:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I got to see it before dead.
[00:47:06] [SPEAKER_04]: They brought it.
[00:47:08] [SPEAKER_04]: I was really happy with it.
[00:47:10] [SPEAKER_03]: I knew they were going there out when they kind of sewed
[00:47:12] [SPEAKER_03]: some of it but then when you see the pulse rifle.
[00:47:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Like when they show the predecessor to the colonial marine
[00:47:17] [SPEAKER_03]: pulse rifle, I was like, yeah, they're bringing this back.
[00:47:20] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:47:22] [SPEAKER_01]: But I will say alien isolation.
[00:47:25] [SPEAKER_04]: I have not yet.
[00:47:26] [SPEAKER_04]: I tried a little bit of it.
[00:47:28] [SPEAKER_04]: It was, um, it's way better now with the updates.
[00:47:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Alien isolation is one of these scariest video games I have
[00:47:35] [SPEAKER_01]: ever played.
[00:47:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Now maybe that's because I have a history of like having seen
[00:47:39] [SPEAKER_01]: the original alien movie when I was way too young to have
[00:47:42] [SPEAKER_01]: watched it.
[00:47:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Uh, but yeah, one of the scariest games I've ever played.
[00:47:46] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:47:47] [SPEAKER_03]: So it is.
[00:47:49] [SPEAKER_03]: So I will say this.
[00:47:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Trisha Deadpool and Wolverine was just as funny and just as
[00:47:56] [SPEAKER_03]: good the second time around.
[00:47:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh, I bet it's even funnier because you want to look up more
[00:47:59] [SPEAKER_01]: of the Easter egg.
[00:48:01] [SPEAKER_03]: I went the weekend.
[00:48:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Um, Theo and I went and saw it one weekend.
[00:48:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I went, I did a took myself on, on a movie date myself.
[00:48:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Just went and saw it and man, it was so good.
[00:48:11] [SPEAKER_03]: Like I loved it.
[00:48:14] [SPEAKER_01]: So good.
[00:48:15] [SPEAKER_01]: My husband and I took an afternoon off to go see it together.
[00:48:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And there were so many times during the film that we just
[00:48:20] [SPEAKER_01]: looked at each other like, Oh my God, I can't believe they just
[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_01]: said that.
[00:48:23] [SPEAKER_04]: Right?
[00:48:25] [SPEAKER_01]: So funny.
[00:48:27] [SPEAKER_04]: And what you, for me was, it was really.
[00:48:30] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think the general consensus is that he was the perfect
[00:48:33] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of like full circle moment for the, for the Fox.
[00:48:37] [SPEAKER_04]: Like universe.
[00:48:38] [SPEAKER_04]: Like, I read Reynolds did such a great.
[00:48:42] [SPEAKER_04]: homage to that whole, to that whole like, like verse, I guess
[00:48:47] [SPEAKER_04]: really. And, uh, yeah, it was so good.
[00:48:50] [SPEAKER_03]: Well, Ryan now is trying to get a Logan style blade movie
[00:48:54] [SPEAKER_03]: done.
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:48:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Apparently the fans are starting to ask.
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Yes.
[00:49:00] [SPEAKER_04]: Like heavily asked for it.
[00:49:01] [SPEAKER_03]: They want, they want to send Wesley Snipes blade out kind of
[00:49:05] [SPEAKER_03]: like Logan.
[00:49:07] [SPEAKER_03]: And then he's also helping drive things with Kevin Fahey
[00:49:12] [SPEAKER_03]: that we're actually going to get gambit.
[00:49:15] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah.
[00:49:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Like they're really, really starting to try and talk to Fahey
[00:49:19] [SPEAKER_03]: about that now is like, let's do gambit.
[00:49:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Let's do Channing tandem as gambit.
[00:49:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that I can take that dialect for a whole movie.
[00:49:28] [SPEAKER_01]: I could get a different dialect coach.
[00:49:32] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean one that's not the minions.
[00:49:34] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it's a good idea.
[00:49:35] [SPEAKER_04]: I think it was good.
[00:49:37] [SPEAKER_04]: And I think that's why it got popular for what it is for the
[00:49:41] [SPEAKER_04]: cameo because it was, it was passable and it was good.
[00:49:45] [SPEAKER_04]: But, uh, but I think for the movie, uh, I think like you
[00:49:50] [SPEAKER_04]: said, at Trisha, uh, uh, definitely would need a dialect
[00:49:53] [SPEAKER_04]: coach because I mean, yeah, I agree.
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause
[00:49:56] [SPEAKER_04]: But
[00:49:58] [SPEAKER_04]: It definitely would need to be a bit tightened up.
[00:50:00] [SPEAKER_04]: And the thing is he, uh, Tatum has the background for it.
[00:50:03] [SPEAKER_04]: Like he's from Louisiana.
[00:50:05] [SPEAKER_04]: So like, yeah.
[00:50:09] [SPEAKER_03]: But that's how gambling is in the comics though.
[00:50:12] [SPEAKER_03]: He's got that ridiculous accent.
[00:50:14] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, but you can still understand.
[00:50:18] [SPEAKER_01]: That's the thing is you have to be able to understand it.
[00:50:20] [SPEAKER_01]: Like even if you're watching X-Men 97,
[00:50:22] [SPEAKER_01]: if you're watching old school animated,
[00:50:24] [SPEAKER_01]: you can understand what he's saying.
[00:50:26] [SPEAKER_04]: That's why I think the fans will accept that.
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that.
[00:50:29] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah, it's fine because we're so used to it to the cartoon,
[00:50:32] [SPEAKER_04]: but you know, I definitely think it was, it was like the
[00:50:36] [SPEAKER_04]: surprise and the coolness of it with David and Tatum.
[00:50:41] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that was just.
[00:50:43] [SPEAKER_00]: Yeah.
[00:50:44] [SPEAKER_04]: And the lines he came up with like, oh,
[00:50:47] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm going to make a name of like so good.
[00:50:50] [SPEAKER_04]: So good.
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, so good.
[00:50:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah.
[00:50:52] [SPEAKER_03]: So I think for me, I'm looking forward the most.
[00:50:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm looking forward to Zelda.
[00:50:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Like that is.
[00:50:59] [SPEAKER_03]: Like there's not a lot right now.
[00:51:02] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, oh really?
[00:51:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I mean, I thought I'm terribly excited for it,
[00:51:05] [SPEAKER_03]: but I think as because more of it as a parent, like,
[00:51:09] [SPEAKER_03]: so for me it's it's Zelda and Astro.
[00:51:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Like my kids keep telling me asking me, Hey,
[00:51:15] [SPEAKER_03]: is Astro yet?
[00:51:16] [SPEAKER_03]: How many days left do we got?
[00:51:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Like can you go check the timer?
[00:51:18] [SPEAKER_03]: Like they're awesome for that.
[00:51:22] [SPEAKER_03]: And even beyond that, it's Metroid Prime 4.
[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Okay.
[00:51:26] [SPEAKER_05]: Like, yeah.
[00:51:28] [SPEAKER_03]: That's where I'm at.
[00:51:30] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, everything else will come out because we don't know a lot
[00:51:33] [SPEAKER_03]: of what's going on with PlayStation studios right now.
[00:51:35] [SPEAKER_03]: You know, outside of Wolverine.
[00:51:38] [SPEAKER_03]: We know that Sony Santa Monica is working on something new.
[00:51:42] [SPEAKER_03]: We know Naughty Dog is working on something.
[00:51:44] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't know what.
[00:51:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So for me, it's just, Hey,
[00:51:47] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll go with what I really love,
[00:51:49] [SPEAKER_03]: which is Zelda and Metroid and whatnot.
[00:51:52] [SPEAKER_03]: And until then I've decided I'm still.
[00:51:56] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm now through in the Mass Effect three.
[00:51:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm doing a full on run through them right now.
[00:52:01] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, nice.
[00:52:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh yeah.
[00:52:04] [SPEAKER_03]: And I missed the platinum on the first run through of mass effect
[00:52:08] [SPEAKER_03]: two by five warps.
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_03]: That's it.
[00:52:12] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, so I have to go back or five incinerations.
[00:52:14] [SPEAKER_03]: So I have to go back through and start it.
[00:52:16] [SPEAKER_03]: On the beginning to kind of do that.
[00:52:19] [SPEAKER_03]: But like, man,
[00:52:21] [SPEAKER_03]: Bioware did such a good job on the.
[00:52:23] [SPEAKER_03]: a legendary addition and it just looks so good.
[00:52:27] [SPEAKER_03]: And, you know, being able to now like as I'm sitting there
[00:52:31] [SPEAKER_03]: playing it, you know, part of what was I, you know
[00:52:34] [SPEAKER_03]: with fan expo Denver, we got, you know, Jennifer Hale
[00:52:37] [SPEAKER_03]: we had Fred Tadaskori and we had Keith David all here.
[00:52:41] [SPEAKER_03]: I was like, I gotta go back through a run, you know?
[00:52:44] [SPEAKER_03]: So I'm doing it all the way through
[00:52:45] [SPEAKER_03]: and then I will try and attempt
[00:52:48] [SPEAKER_03]: to do my first full run through Andromeda.
[00:52:51] [SPEAKER_03]: Like the first time I played Andromeda was back
[00:52:54] [SPEAKER_03]: when it first came out and it was a broken mess and whatnot.
[00:52:58] [SPEAKER_03]: But so what are your favorite games
[00:53:04] [SPEAKER_03]: that you're playing right now?
[00:53:06] [SPEAKER_03]: Like what is, besides, you know, trying to finish Diablo
[00:53:09] [SPEAKER_03]: but what is your like your actual like go-to game
[00:53:11] [SPEAKER_03]: right now for you regardless if it's on stream
[00:53:14] [SPEAKER_03]: or just your downtime?
[00:53:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Also, I have a second question to that question.
[00:53:21] [SPEAKER_01]: All right, well my quest, my answer is the reason
[00:53:25] [SPEAKER_01]: that I stream so much is because I don't get downtime gaming.
[00:53:28] [SPEAKER_01]: The only gaming I get is on stream,
[00:53:31] [SPEAKER_01]: which is part of why I'm still finishing Baldur's Gate 3
[00:53:36] [SPEAKER_01]: and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth and Tears of the Kingdom.
[00:53:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Those are the three games I'm bouncing back
[00:53:41] [SPEAKER_01]: and forth between now because I can't make up my mind.
[00:53:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It comes out and I'm like, well, maybe I'm in a Tears mood today.
[00:53:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe I'm in a Baldur's Gate mood today.
[00:53:52] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm the same way.
[00:53:53] [SPEAKER_04]: So I totally get you.
[00:53:55] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, so part of the reason I haven't finished any of them
[00:53:58] [SPEAKER_01]: is because I'm doing them all at the same time.
[00:54:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm over, I'm 100 something hours
[00:54:03] [SPEAKER_01]: into Baldur's Gate 3 at this point.
[00:54:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm barely in Act 3, but I'm enjoying it so much.
[00:54:12] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm really just chewing through that game.
[00:54:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It's beautiful.
[00:54:17] [SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth,
[00:54:19] [SPEAKER_01]: my only knock against it, and I love Final Fantasy VII.
[00:54:23] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean, I was gonna do the whole thing dressed as Tifa.
[00:54:27] [SPEAKER_01]: The open world-ness of it is tubing for me.
[00:54:32] [SPEAKER_01]: And I am getting too distracted running around
[00:54:34] [SPEAKER_01]: catching all the shinies that I completely forget
[00:54:37] [SPEAKER_01]: what the main story is.
[00:54:38] [SPEAKER_01]: And I'm like, all right, I gotta do the proletariat thing.
[00:54:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I gotta get this tower.
[00:54:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Now I'm collecting what for Johnny?
[00:54:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And what's the main mission?
[00:54:48] [SPEAKER_01]: And normally what keeps me hooked
[00:54:50] [SPEAKER_01]: in a Final Fantasy game is the story, right?
[00:54:52] [SPEAKER_01]: It keeps me pulled along.
[00:54:54] [SPEAKER_01]: In my opinion, they went too big with Rebirth
[00:54:57] [SPEAKER_01]: and I lost it.
[00:54:59] [SPEAKER_01]: I lost the like, I should be going to bed at night
[00:55:02] [SPEAKER_01]: wondering what's gonna happen to these characters
[00:55:04] [SPEAKER_01]: I love so much.
[00:55:05] [SPEAKER_01]: And instead I'm like, what are they doing?
[00:55:08] [SPEAKER_02]: What part of Rebirth are you at right now?
[00:55:11] [SPEAKER_01]: I'm in chapter nine right now.
[00:55:13] [SPEAKER_01]: And they just got to the point where they split
[00:55:15] [SPEAKER_01]: the boys and the girls up
[00:55:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and the boys went and got in trouble.
[00:55:19] [SPEAKER_01]: And now I'm the girls and I gotta go save them.
[00:55:21] [SPEAKER_01]: And that's where I am right now.
[00:55:23] [SPEAKER_01]: But that was after like, I don't know,
[00:55:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I feel like two to three hours of side stuff
[00:55:28] [SPEAKER_01]: and then you felt like 20 minutes of real story.
[00:55:31] [SPEAKER_01]: And then two to three hours of side stuff,
[00:55:33] [SPEAKER_01]: 20 minutes of real story.
[00:55:34] [SPEAKER_01]: And it's just for me, I don't have the intent.
[00:55:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Like I need to be pulled along.
[00:55:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, what?
[00:55:41] [SPEAKER_04]: I get that.
[00:55:42] [SPEAKER_04]: And I kind of suffered from the same thing
[00:55:45] [SPEAKER_04]: where I had to kind of cut myself off
[00:55:47] [SPEAKER_04]: and just focus on the story.
[00:55:48] [SPEAKER_04]: Cause so I knew some other games were coming out
[00:55:51] [SPEAKER_04]: that I wanted to and finally end up finishing it.
[00:55:55] [SPEAKER_04]: So once again, thank you, bro.
[00:55:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Thank you, dude.
[00:55:57] [SPEAKER_04]: No problem, bro.
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_04]: No problem, bro.
[00:55:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I mean like I get it.
[00:56:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause it's like the same with Assassin's Creed.
[00:56:03] [SPEAKER_02]: Me, well I always call it, I call it squirreling.
[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_02]: Cause you know you just squirrel around.
[00:56:07] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh that's a completionist dream.
[00:56:09] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, you just have to complete it.
[00:56:11] [SPEAKER_02]: Like you see all these.
[00:56:12] [SPEAKER_04]: Assassin's Creed, I need to complete that whole map.
[00:56:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Like yeah.
[00:56:16] [SPEAKER_01]: I mean that's why I'm with the Spider-Man games.
[00:56:18] [SPEAKER_02]: It's squirrel like, you just squirrel around
[00:56:20] [SPEAKER_02]: and just grab everything.
[00:56:23] [SPEAKER_02]: And like, oh wait where am I?
[00:56:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Oh yeah, this is the main mission.
[00:56:26] [SPEAKER_01]: When I'm streaming a lot of times
[00:56:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I only have three or four hours at a clip to stream.
[00:56:30] [SPEAKER_01]: So you kind of gotta stay focused.
[00:56:31] [SPEAKER_01]: So when you talk about it getting like Baldur's Gate 3
[00:56:33] [SPEAKER_01]: that I'm over 150 hours in on,
[00:56:36] [SPEAKER_01]: think of how many streams that's been.
[00:56:39] [SPEAKER_01]: It's like months of my life.
[00:56:41] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it's funny because like I'll convince my husband,
[00:56:44] [SPEAKER_01]: I convinced my husband to play Baldur's Gate 3.
[00:56:45] [SPEAKER_01]: He doesn't play a lot of video games
[00:56:47] [SPEAKER_01]: but every now and then I'm like, look this is a good one.
[00:56:49] [SPEAKER_01]: You want to put in the time on this one babe.
[00:56:52] [SPEAKER_01]: And so we started playing Baldur's Gate 3
[00:56:54] [SPEAKER_01]: but because I fall asleep at like 930
[00:56:58] [SPEAKER_01]: he'll stay up and play Baldur's Gate 3
[00:56:59] [SPEAKER_01]: until like 230 in the morning by himself.
[00:57:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah that's awesome.
[00:57:03] [SPEAKER_01]: And he's not running a stream at the same time.
[00:57:05] [SPEAKER_01]: So he has now surpassed where I am in this story
[00:57:10] [SPEAKER_01]: in the span of like four weeks.
[00:57:12] [SPEAKER_04]: And I'm like look I am months into this.
[00:57:16] [SPEAKER_04]: Did you get this part yet?
[00:57:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh you're not there yet?
[00:57:18] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, okay.
[00:57:19] [SPEAKER_04]: I don't have to keep reminding him not to tell me.
[00:57:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Because he's like oh yeah well you got to this part
[00:57:24] [SPEAKER_01]: so obviously you found out that this is this
[00:57:26] [SPEAKER_01]: and I'm like no that didn't happen in my play through
[00:57:29] [SPEAKER_01]: but now I know.
[00:57:30] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh no.
[00:57:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Like thanks a lot.
[00:57:33] [SPEAKER_03]: You're sleeping on the couch now.
[00:57:35] [SPEAKER_04]: So my second question, is there a game
[00:57:40] [SPEAKER_04]: that is your go to like comfort game?
[00:57:43] [SPEAKER_04]: If you're in between or get fatigued
[00:57:47] [SPEAKER_04]: on a game you're working on?
[00:57:49] [SPEAKER_04]: Because I have mine and the guys give me crap on mine
[00:57:52] [SPEAKER_04]: all the time because I am addicted.
[00:57:53] [SPEAKER_04]: You guys give me crap on mine.
[00:57:54] [SPEAKER_04]: That is true because we are addicted to them
[00:57:56] [SPEAKER_04]: but there are comfort games.
[00:57:57] [SPEAKER_04]: That's what I'm calling them.
[00:57:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So I was just wondering if you have one of those?
[00:58:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So I have two of them that I consider my comfort games
[00:58:06] [SPEAKER_01]: for like I have 20 minutes and need to just be out.
[00:58:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So I have different games that are comfort games
[00:58:12] [SPEAKER_01]: if I have a few hours.
[00:58:13] [SPEAKER_06]: Yeah, nice one.
[00:58:15] [SPEAKER_01]: I've got 20 minutes it's been a hard day.
[00:58:17] [SPEAKER_01]: You know I'll go downstairs and work on the kitchen
[00:58:19] [SPEAKER_01]: in 20 minutes but right now I just need to this.
[00:58:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Mini motorways.
[00:58:25] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know that one.
[00:58:27] [SPEAKER_01]: I get real hard into the indie scene.
[00:58:29] [SPEAKER_01]: I produce an indie games showcase every Tuesday
[00:58:31] [SPEAKER_01]: on my Twitch channel and so I play
[00:58:33] [SPEAKER_01]: five to seven new indies every week.
[00:58:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh cool.
[00:58:36] [SPEAKER_01]: And right now and then I'll find an indie that I'm like.
[00:58:38] [SPEAKER_04]: That's just a gem in like, okay.
[00:58:41] [SPEAKER_01]: Scratches at it.
[00:58:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Mini motorways is the silly indie game
[00:58:45] [SPEAKER_01]: that scratches at it for me hard
[00:58:47] [SPEAKER_01]: when I just need to like brain shut off
[00:58:49] [SPEAKER_01]: and zen out into something.
[00:58:51] [SPEAKER_01]: That's it and you can get it done in like 20 minutes.
[00:58:54] [SPEAKER_01]: You can get done a run in like 20 minutes.
[00:58:55] [SPEAKER_05]: Oh sweet.
[00:58:57] [SPEAKER_01]: That and into the breach.
[00:58:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Into the breach is my other like.
[00:59:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Okay.
[00:59:01] [SPEAKER_01]: I just need, I got like 20 to 30 minutes.
[00:59:03] [SPEAKER_01]: I need to go back and finish it.
[00:59:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Oh so good.
[00:59:06] [SPEAKER_05]: Yeah.
[00:59:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So good but yeah those are my quickie ones
[00:59:09] [SPEAKER_01]: and then I guess if I needed like my comfort game
[00:59:14] [SPEAKER_01]: maybe like a Breath of the Wild,
[00:59:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Tears of the Kingdom or a Sims.
[00:59:18] [SPEAKER_01]: If I have like a lot of time to just zen.
[00:59:22] [SPEAKER_01]: But again those are the games that I feel
[00:59:23] [SPEAKER_01]: like I can put it on autopilot
[00:59:25] [SPEAKER_01]: and that's why they're my comfort games.
[00:59:27] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[00:59:28] [SPEAKER_01]: What's yours that everyone laughs at?
[00:59:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I need to know now.
[00:59:31] [SPEAKER_04]: Red Dead 2.
[00:59:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Why is Red Dead 2 your comfort game?
[00:59:36] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh, fishing, hunting.
[00:59:38] [SPEAKER_04]: I go through, I like, me and my stepdad
[00:59:43] [SPEAKER_04]: first like kind of our, we've had a,
[00:59:48] [SPEAKER_04]: we found a love for Kevin Costner in his movies
[00:59:50] [SPEAKER_04]: and then we just fell in love with like Westerns.
[00:59:54] [SPEAKER_04]: So that was kind of our like,
[00:59:56] [SPEAKER_04]: kind of starting for our relationship
[00:59:58] [SPEAKER_04]: and type of thing.
[00:59:59] [SPEAKER_04]: So I really started loving Westerns
[01:00:03] [SPEAKER_04]: and you know, that's it.
[01:00:05] [SPEAKER_04]: Like that's really basically it.
[01:00:06] [SPEAKER_04]: I'd love Old Westerns, Spaghetti Westerns
[01:00:09] [SPEAKER_04]: and then when the first Red Dead came out,
[01:00:11] [SPEAKER_04]: I was in and then when I finally,
[01:00:14] [SPEAKER_04]: when I saw that second, the trailer for number two,
[01:00:18] [SPEAKER_04]: for PS4, the updated graphics.
[01:00:20] [SPEAKER_04]: When you fought the bear, you were in.
[01:00:22] [SPEAKER_04]: Oh my God, I was hooked.
[01:00:26] [SPEAKER_04]: Collectors Edition Day of,
[01:00:28] [SPEAKER_04]: I warned the guys like, I'm telling you right now,
[01:00:32] [SPEAKER_04]: you will not speak to me online for at least a month.
[01:00:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm telling you right now.
[01:00:36] [SPEAKER_03]: We don't go to get online, right?
[01:00:38] [SPEAKER_03]: And we're like, hey, where are you at?
[01:00:39] [SPEAKER_03]: He's like, I'm still fishing.
[01:00:42] [SPEAKER_03]: There's always in that FF7 remake
[01:00:45] [SPEAKER_03]: didn't get finished in a timely manner
[01:00:47] [SPEAKER_03]: because he decided to go back to the Red Dead.
[01:00:48] [SPEAKER_04]: I wanted to do another run.
[01:00:50] [SPEAKER_04]: I'm currently on my fifth full run of Red Dead too.
[01:00:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I love that.
[01:00:56] [SPEAKER_04]: Yeah.
[01:00:56] [SPEAKER_03]: So that's, yeah.
[01:00:58] [SPEAKER_03]: Mine's Animal Crossing.
[01:01:00] [SPEAKER_03]: Yep.
[01:01:03] [SPEAKER_03]: I have between two different switches.
[01:01:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I have almost 2000 hours into my island.
[01:01:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Only 2000.
[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Since launch.
[01:01:10] [SPEAKER_03]: That's since launch.
[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_03]: So literally.
[01:01:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And I mean it launched right at the beginning of pandemic.
[01:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Everybody's in the pandemic.
[01:01:17] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, at the perfect time.
[01:01:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And how many remodels of your island
[01:01:23] [SPEAKER_04]: where you have started completely over?
[01:01:26] [SPEAKER_03]: You mean wipe my island and rebuild it?
[01:01:30] [SPEAKER_03]: Because that's where I get you on.
[01:01:32] [SPEAKER_03]: That's how I get you on.
[01:01:33] [SPEAKER_03]: That's a number of times.
[01:01:35] [SPEAKER_03]: I think I just, with the final touches I just did,
[01:01:39] [SPEAKER_03]: I think this is number seven.
[01:01:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Where I will flash.
[01:01:44] [SPEAKER_03]: Like what I'll do is I will pull everything off the island.
[01:01:48] [SPEAKER_03]: Like all the different furniture pieces and everything.
[01:01:50] [SPEAKER_03]: I'll put it in storage.
[01:01:51] [SPEAKER_03]: I will terraform it down, bare bones it.
[01:01:54] [SPEAKER_03]: Start moving the neighborhoods
[01:01:55] [SPEAKER_03]: and start putting everything in and just.
[01:01:57] [SPEAKER_03]: From scratch.
[01:01:59] [SPEAKER_03]: I just finished putting the final touches on it
[01:02:02] [SPEAKER_03]: and normally we're usually talking about where I put things.
[01:02:06] [SPEAKER_03]: So a couple of people online had been asking to see the island
[01:02:09] [SPEAKER_03]: so I just posted a video yesterday of a tour of my island.
[01:02:13] [SPEAKER_03]: Because it's out on YouTube.
[01:02:16] [SPEAKER_03]: You follow me on Twitter or whatever, you go find it there.
[01:02:18] [SPEAKER_03]: That's so funny.
[01:02:19] [SPEAKER_03]: It was funny as I did for the one that doesn't go out on YouTube
[01:02:22] [SPEAKER_03]: that I posted to Twitter and stuff.
[01:02:25] [SPEAKER_03]: I put the song Island in the Sun by Weezer.
[01:02:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Oh, sweet.
[01:02:30] [SPEAKER_03]: For the video and it just fit perfectly.
[01:02:33] [SPEAKER_03]: Very nice.
[01:02:35] [SPEAKER_03]: But yeah, so all right Tristan,
[01:02:37] [SPEAKER_03]: so before we get going,
[01:02:38] [SPEAKER_03]: there's one question we have for you.
[01:02:41] [SPEAKER_03]: It's a question we ask of all of our guests.
[01:02:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Kind of plays into the name of the podcast.
[01:02:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So when you are able to have a game night
[01:02:50] [SPEAKER_03]: with family and friends, like everybody comes over,
[01:02:52] [SPEAKER_03]: you're gonna have kind of like a game night.
[01:02:53] [SPEAKER_03]: What is your go-to game for game night?
[01:02:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Regardless if it's a console game, a board game,
[01:02:59] [SPEAKER_03]: card game, whatever it is.
[01:03:02] [SPEAKER_01]: So when I have game night with my friends,
[01:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: it's usually a tabletop game night.
[01:03:06] [SPEAKER_01]: Nice, sweet, sweet.
[01:03:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And then it depends which friends
[01:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: because there are some friends
[01:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: that are Axis and allies friends.
[01:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: And there are other friends
[01:03:14] [SPEAKER_01]: that are like cards against humanity, code names.
[01:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Right?
[01:03:18] [SPEAKER_04]: So totally, gotcha.
[01:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: I would say that my go-tos are probably Seven Wonders,
[01:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: Munchkin, Red Dragon, Red Dragon Inn, or is it Tavern?
[01:03:31] [SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
[01:03:32] [SPEAKER_01]: It's been a while since I played that one.
[01:03:33] [SPEAKER_01]: Secret Hitler, code names and cards against humanity.
[01:03:39] [SPEAKER_03]: Nice.
[01:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: I just bring out the stack.
[01:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: It is over and then let them...
[01:03:46] [SPEAKER_03]: It is very nice to hear somebody
[01:03:49] [SPEAKER_03]: mention Axis and allies though.
[01:03:50] [SPEAKER_03]: That was a game I got introduced to
[01:03:53] [SPEAKER_03]: in high school with my buddies.
[01:03:55] [SPEAKER_03]: We had the house rule though, that if you could,
[01:03:58] [SPEAKER_03]: like you could go set up like industrial complexes
[01:04:01] [SPEAKER_03]: in like some other area
[01:04:04] [SPEAKER_03]: and kind of try and win your way back.
[01:04:06] [SPEAKER_03]: So like, I'm the new guy, they stuck me with England.
[01:04:10] [SPEAKER_03]: Like, so like I had to basically start in like playing wrist
[01:04:14] [SPEAKER_03]: out of South Africa and just slowly start marching back.
[01:04:20] [SPEAKER_02]: It's fine, yeah.
[01:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm more risk guy versus Axis and allies.
[01:04:26] [SPEAKER_03]: For me though, it is either ticket to ride
[01:04:30] [SPEAKER_03]: or it's settlers.
[01:04:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Ooh, settlers is good.
[01:04:34] [SPEAKER_03]: Jerry won't play settlers with me anymore.
[01:04:36] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no.
[01:04:38] [SPEAKER_03]: Yeah, that's...
[01:04:39] [SPEAKER_03]: No, no, I'm just kidding.
[01:04:40] [SPEAKER_03]: I have this knack of rolling sevens.
[01:04:43] [SPEAKER_03]: You're very annoying.
[01:04:46] [SPEAKER_03]: So anyway, so with that, Trisha,
[01:04:49] [SPEAKER_03]: I want to thank you for coming on.
[01:04:51] [SPEAKER_03]: We've got to get you.
[01:04:52] [SPEAKER_03]: I know you've got the kiddo and everything
[01:04:53] [SPEAKER_03]: and I've got to go be a dad too.
[01:04:55] [SPEAKER_03]: It is a school night officially in this household.
[01:04:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Both boys are now back in school.
[01:05:00] [SPEAKER_03]: But thank you for coming on.
[01:05:02] [SPEAKER_03]: You are, it was great having you on.
[01:05:03] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you so much.
[01:05:04] [SPEAKER_03]: Honestly, this is one of those ones
[01:05:05] [SPEAKER_03]: I look at the time.
[01:05:06] [SPEAKER_03]: I'm like, how is it already an hour?
[01:05:08] [SPEAKER_03]: Because like it's been great talking to you.
[01:05:10] [SPEAKER_03]: We could probably talk on and on and on
[01:05:11] [SPEAKER_03]: about a whole bunch of things.
[01:05:14] [SPEAKER_03]: You are more than welcome to come back anytime.
[01:05:17] [SPEAKER_03]: Even on nights, we stream at the same time.
[01:05:19] [SPEAKER_03]: Even if something you're bored on night,
[01:05:21] [SPEAKER_03]: just hit me up and be like,
[01:05:22] [SPEAKER_03]: hey, I'm going to come crash.
[01:05:26] [SPEAKER_03]: But to everybody out there,
[01:05:28] [SPEAKER_03]: you know what?
[01:05:29] [SPEAKER_03]: Go check out Trisha's profile
[01:05:32] [SPEAKER_03]: on our contributors and guest page.
[01:05:33] [SPEAKER_03]: It has all of her links to all of her stuff right on there
[01:05:37] [SPEAKER_03]: and her bio, including going directly to her website.
[01:05:40] [SPEAKER_03]: First time crashing with us.
[01:05:42] [SPEAKER_03]: Thank you for catching us tonight.
[01:05:43] [SPEAKER_03]: Drops follow if you'd like to cherd.
[01:05:46] [SPEAKER_03]: And honestly guys with everything
[01:05:47] [SPEAKER_03]: and this kind of goes back to my,
[01:05:49] [SPEAKER_03]: one of my favorite movies of all time.
[01:05:51] [SPEAKER_03]: But just with everything going on in the world right now,
[01:05:54] [SPEAKER_03]: you know, and whatnot,
[01:05:56] [SPEAKER_03]: people are struggling to stuff.
[01:05:57] [SPEAKER_03]: Just please be excellent to each other.
[01:06:01] [SPEAKER_04]: That's right on my nerds.
[01:06:02] [SPEAKER_04]: Trisha, thank you so much for joining
[01:06:04] [SPEAKER_04]: and you have an open pass
[01:06:07] [SPEAKER_04]: and anytime you want to crash, please.
[01:06:10] [SPEAKER_04]: Or even just, you know, crash
[01:06:12] [SPEAKER_04]: and give us your thoughts on a subject we're on.
[01:06:15] [SPEAKER_04]: You know, quick and easy, please.
[01:06:17] [SPEAKER_04]: Please anytime you want to visit.
[01:06:19] [SPEAKER_04]: And awesome.
[01:06:21] [SPEAKER_04]: And once again, everybody,
[01:06:22] [SPEAKER_04]: we want to spread the same message.
[01:06:25] [SPEAKER_04]: Let's just try to do and be a little better.
