On this episode of the podcast we discuss the closure of Firewalk Studios, the updates coming to Switch Online, and give our thoughts on Zelda Echoes Of Wisdom.

[00:00:09] Some things on Matt's mind in particular, it probably wasn't a big jump for him because certain things are on his mind, but you never know

[00:00:17] Oh my god, it's been a week and it's only Tuesday

[00:00:22] Only Tuesday

[00:00:24] Welcome to Crashing Game Night, my name is Matt DiOrio, your host as always

[00:00:29] We're joined by the Beanieed One who is partially paying attention to what is going on in the city that never sleeps

[00:00:39] As his Dodgers are attempting to go for a sweep

[00:00:43] Yeah, they're playing in New York right now?

[00:00:45] Yeah, Yankee Stadium

[00:00:47] Where Freddie Freeman has homered for the fourth time in this World Series

[00:00:53] Every game, you know, goes back six consecutive games that he's played in with a home run

[00:00:58] And as our maitre d'os service has pointed out, that is the longest active streak in baseball history

[00:01:04] That's right, go Dodgers

[00:01:06] Imagine the bonus he's gonna get for that

[00:01:07] It's gonna be amazing, that's right

[00:01:10] I've been watching the highlights, kind of keeping up with the game today

[00:01:15] I've been kind of distracted, but welcome guys

[00:01:18] Thank you guys for joining and hanging

[00:01:20] Yeah, what's up? What's going on?

[00:01:23] And we got the baby face one

[00:01:25] There he is

[00:01:26] The Eowalski

[00:01:27] What's up y'all?

[00:01:28] My hair's a little untimely

[00:01:30] I was like thinking about that

[00:01:32] I mean, come on

[00:01:33] I think this would be the week I need to put the beanie on

[00:01:36] Yeah, yeah, yeah, maybe you want the, yeah

[00:01:38] I mean, we did it for you last week

[00:01:40] Yes, we did

[00:01:41] Oh, thank you guys

[00:01:42] That's

[00:01:45] And then we are joined by our

[00:01:46] Major Dia Services

[00:01:48] The Man with the Couch

[00:01:49] The Man

[00:01:49] The Myth

[00:01:50] The Legend

[00:01:51] The Lion's Man

[00:01:52] Jason Valerio

[00:01:52] How's it going guys?

[00:01:54] How's it going?

[00:01:55] Feeling a little under the weather, but it's okay

[00:01:58] It's been hot cold, hot cold lately

[00:02:01] But

[00:02:02] Still here for you guys

[00:02:05] Ooh, live update

[00:02:06] It is now 5-3

[00:02:07] He's the USPS of

[00:02:09] Crashing Game Night

[00:02:12] Right

[00:02:16] Anyways, so

[00:02:17] Top of fifth

[00:02:20] Ladies and gentlemen

[00:02:20] I will forewarn you

[00:02:22] If

[00:02:22] While we're recording

[00:02:23] The Dodgers somehow

[00:02:24] Come back on this one

[00:02:26] Oh my God

[00:02:27] Jerry may scream

[00:02:29] Oh my God, yeah

[00:02:30] The little girl

[00:02:30] Do it, do it, do it

[00:02:31] Scream, do it, do it

[00:02:34] No muting

[00:02:34] We need to test that

[00:02:35] Make sure that like

[00:02:36] You set your microphone just right

[00:02:39] Guys need some, do some testing here

[00:02:43] Yep

[00:02:43] So

[00:02:45] Anyways, how is

[00:02:47] How is everybody doing?

[00:02:50] I'm just happy to have

[00:02:51] Power

[00:02:53] I had a

[00:02:54] 17-hour power outage on Friday

[00:02:59] What?

[00:03:00] Yeah

[00:03:00] That was the longest we've ever had a power outage

[00:03:03] How the heck were you out of power for 17 hours?

[00:03:06] I don't freaking know

[00:03:07] It started at

[00:03:08] Like

[00:03:08] 8 in the morning

[00:03:10] And then like

[00:03:11] It came back for like

[00:03:13] Maybe

[00:03:13] 20 minutes and then it was gone again

[00:03:16] And

[00:03:17] We, so we were just like

[00:03:18] Okay, there's not

[00:03:20] No internet, no nothing

[00:03:21] Oh, thank God we have data on our phones

[00:03:23] It's like, okay

[00:03:24] Well, let's just go out and do something

[00:03:27] And

[00:03:29] Freaking

[00:03:29] Excel Energy didn't send anybody out

[00:03:31] To our area

[00:03:32] Until like

[00:03:34] 5pm

[00:03:34] And they had to excavate

[00:03:36] In order to get down into the big ass

[00:03:39] What?

[00:03:40] Big ass wires and everything

[00:03:42] And yeah, they

[00:03:43] They at first said

[00:03:44] Starting at like

[00:03:47] 1pm

[00:03:47] They weren't expecting restore until

[00:03:49] 11pm

[00:03:50] Then 11pm came around

[00:03:52] And then they said 1.30

[00:03:53] At least they were accurate that

[00:03:55] We got power back at 1.30 in the morning

[00:03:56] Good lord

[00:03:58] Holy shit

[00:03:59] Holy crap

[00:04:00] It was a lot of fun waking up with

[00:04:02] All my lights turning on in my room

[00:04:06] Oh, okay

[00:04:06] How's your PS5?

[00:04:08] Did it scream at you?

[00:04:09] Did it yell at you that

[00:04:10] You know, you shut it down without

[00:04:12] Properly turning it off?

[00:04:13] Well, that would involve me having turned it on since

[00:04:16] It did that, so we'll find out later tonight

[00:04:19] Oh my gosh

[00:04:21] So

[00:04:23] Anyways

[00:04:23] Very cool

[00:04:25] Well, it's good to have

[00:04:26] Jerry back

[00:04:28] Oh, thank you

[00:04:28] He is attending to some family business

[00:04:31] Last week

[00:04:31] Yeah

[00:04:32] We missed you

[00:04:33] Oh, thank you

[00:04:34] But

[00:04:35] Family first

[00:04:36] Yeah

[00:04:37] So

[00:04:39] Anyways

[00:04:40] So we got

[00:04:41] We got a little bit to talk about

[00:04:44] And

[00:04:45] So I'm gonna

[00:04:46] I'm gonna preface this folks

[00:04:48] That

[00:04:49] If you've listened to us long enough

[00:04:52] You know we are

[00:04:54] Predominantly PlayStation and Nintendo

[00:04:56] And that we are

[00:04:57] Big PlayStation fans

[00:04:59] Exhibit A

[00:05:03] However

[00:05:03] This

[00:05:05] This starting segment

[00:05:07] I am going to rail

[00:05:10] PlayStation

[00:05:12] Oh

[00:05:12] So we all know

[00:05:15] A couple years ago

[00:05:16] That PlayStation bought

[00:05:18] Firewalk Studios

[00:05:21] Firewalk

[00:05:22] Oh

[00:05:22] Is the studio that was behind Concord

[00:05:25] Which

[00:05:26] It was their first game that they were being given

[00:05:28] After being acquired by

[00:05:31] By PlayStation

[00:05:32] It had a $400 million budget

[00:05:33] And we know it kind of basically

[00:05:37] Went bye bye

[00:05:39] Okay

[00:05:40] Um

[00:05:42] I am going to read a press release

[00:05:46] That's

[00:05:47] That was

[00:05:47] I saw this as well

[00:05:48] You can go out to

[00:05:49] Sonyinteractive.com

[00:05:50] And you can go read the press release

[00:05:52] You can go out to

[00:05:53] See PlayStation

[00:05:55] On Twitter

[00:05:55] And what

[00:05:56] Yes Twitter

[00:05:57] I'm not gonna call it Stupid X

[00:05:59] Anyways

[00:06:00] And you can go see it there

[00:06:01] But

[00:06:04] They

[00:06:06] I'll just go ahead and read it

[00:06:07] And then we can sit there

[00:06:09] And I will

[00:06:10] Go rail on them

[00:06:11] Anyways

[00:06:12] Um

[00:06:13] And this is an email

[00:06:14] An internal email

[00:06:15] That is from

[00:06:16] Herman Hulse

[00:06:17] CEO

[00:06:18] Studio business group

[00:06:19] So as we all know

[00:06:20] He's over first party studios

[00:06:21] Okay

[00:06:22] It says

[00:06:23] Dear team

[00:06:24] Today I want to share some important updates

[00:06:26] From Sony Interactive Entertainment's

[00:06:27] Studio business group

[00:06:28] We consistently evaluate our games portfolio

[00:06:31] And status of our projects

[00:06:32] To ensure we are meeting near and long term

[00:06:34] Business priorities

[00:06:35] As part of our ongoing efforts to strengthen

[00:06:37] SIE studio business

[00:06:39] We have had to make a difficult decision

[00:06:41] Related to two of our studios

[00:06:43] Neo Koi

[00:06:44] And Firewalk Studios

[00:06:45] So real quick

[00:06:47] Before I read the rest of this

[00:06:48] Neon Koi

[00:06:49] I didn't even know

[00:06:50] Was a studio within PlayStation Studios

[00:06:52] It's the first time I've been even hearing about them

[00:06:54] Um

[00:06:55] Yeah I didn't

[00:06:56] I didn't know

[00:06:57] And what not

[00:06:57] So

[00:06:58] Um

[00:07:01] We'll get there

[00:07:02] Dude they have nothing

[00:07:03] Like I went to their Instagram

[00:07:04] I went to their Twitter account

[00:07:06] There's like one or two posts

[00:07:07] That's it

[00:07:08] There's like

[00:07:08] It's devoid of anything

[00:07:09] You go to their website

[00:07:11] It's devoid of anything that they've worked on

[00:07:13] Or whatever

[00:07:14] Um

[00:07:15] Anyways

[00:07:15] So he goes on to say

[00:07:16] Expanding beyond PlayStation devices

[00:07:18] And crafting engaging online experiences

[00:07:19] Alongside our single player games

[00:07:22] Are key focal areas for us

[00:07:24] As we evolve our revenue streams

[00:07:26] We need to be strategic though

[00:07:28] In bringing our games to new platforms

[00:07:30] And recognize when our games fall short

[00:07:31] Of meeting player expectations

[00:07:34] While mobile remains a priority growth area

[00:07:36] For the studio business

[00:07:37] We are in the very early stages of our mobile efforts

[00:07:39] To achieve success in this area

[00:07:42] We need to concentrate on titles that are in line

[00:07:44] With PlayStation Studios pedigree

[00:07:45] And have the potential to reach more players globally

[00:07:47] With this refocus approach

[00:07:49] Neon Koi will close

[00:07:51] And it's mobile action game will not move forward

[00:07:53] I want to express my gratitude to everyone at Neon Koi

[00:07:56] For their hard work and endless passion to innovate

[00:07:59] Nobody knows what mobile game they were even working on

[00:08:02] So

[00:08:02] Um

[00:08:03] Regarding Firewalk

[00:08:04] Bummer

[00:08:04] As announced

[00:08:05] Um

[00:08:06] In early September

[00:08:09] Uh

[00:08:09] Certain aspects of Concord were exceptional

[00:08:11] But others did not land with enough players

[00:08:13] And as a result

[00:08:13] We took the game offline

[00:08:15] We have spent considerable time

[00:08:16] Uh

[00:08:17] These past few months exploring all our options

[00:08:19] After much thought

[00:08:21] We have determined the best path forward

[00:08:23] Is to permanently sunset the game

[00:08:25] And close the studio

[00:08:28] Uh

[00:08:29] I want to thank all of Firewalk

[00:08:31] For their craftsmanship

[00:08:34] Creative spirit and dedication

[00:08:35] The PvP first person shooter genre

[00:08:37] Is a competitive space that continuously

[00:08:39] That's continuously evolving

[00:08:40] And effortlessly

[00:08:41] Unfortunately

[00:08:42] We did not hit our targets with this title

[00:08:44] We will take the lessons learned from Concord

[00:08:46] And continue to advance our live service capabilities

[00:08:49] To deliver future growth in this area

[00:08:51] I know none of this is an easy

[00:08:53] Or is easy news to hear

[00:08:55] Particularly with colleagues and friends departing SIE

[00:08:58] Both decisions were given serious thought

[00:09:00] And ultimately we feel they are

[00:09:02] The right ones to strengthen the organization

[00:09:04] Neon Koi and Firewalk

[00:09:05] We are home to many talented individuals

[00:09:07] And we will work to find

[00:09:08] Placement for some of those

[00:09:10] Impacted within our global community

[00:09:11] Of studios where possible

[00:09:13] I am a big believer in the benefits

[00:09:15] Of embracing creative experimentation

[00:09:17] And developing new IP

[00:09:18] However, growing through

[00:09:20] Sustainable financials

[00:09:22] Especially in a challenged

[00:09:23] Economic environment

[00:09:24] Is critical

[00:09:25] While today is a difficult day

[00:09:27] There is much to look forward to

[00:09:29] In the months ahead

[00:09:30] For the studio business group

[00:09:32] And our teams

[00:09:33] Are remain confident

[00:09:34] That we are building

[00:09:34] Resilient and capable organization

[00:09:36] Driven by creating

[00:09:38] Unforgettable

[00:09:38] Entertainment experiences

[00:09:40] For our players

[00:09:40] Thank you for our

[00:09:42] Your continued support

[00:09:44] Real quick before we go on

[00:09:47] Firewalk

[00:09:49] Studios put out

[00:09:51] Their own statement

[00:09:52] As well regarding this

[00:09:55] You can go on to Firewalk Studios

[00:09:58] Twitter account

[00:09:59] And see it there

[00:10:01] It says

[00:10:02] Firewalk is signing off

[00:10:03] One last time

[00:10:04] Firewalk is

[00:10:06] Firewalk began with the idea

[00:10:07] Of bringing the joy of multiplayer

[00:10:09] To a larger audience

[00:10:10] Along the way

[00:10:11] We assembled an incredible team

[00:10:13] Who were able to

[00:10:14] Navigate growing a new startup

[00:10:16] Into a team

[00:10:17] During a global pandemic

[00:10:19] Firewalk was founded in 2018

[00:10:20] And was very small

[00:10:22] For its first couple years

[00:10:23] Only entering full production

[00:10:24] In 2022

[00:10:26] Now this is the year

[00:10:27] That's the year before

[00:10:29] PlayStation actually acquired them

[00:10:30] In late 23

[00:10:34] You want to say

[00:10:35] Build a new customized

[00:10:36] Next generation FPS engine

[00:10:37] In Unreal 4 and 5

[00:10:40] Delivering the top tier

[00:10:41] Gameplay feel

[00:10:41] Beautiful worlds

[00:10:42] And a performant

[00:10:44] 60 frames per second

[00:10:45] Technical experience

[00:10:46] On a stable and scalable

[00:10:48] Back end on PS5 and PC

[00:10:50] To hundreds of thousands

[00:10:51] Of players in our beta

[00:10:53] Manage an acquisition

[00:10:54] And integration

[00:10:54] While writing technical

[00:10:55] And preliminary tests

[00:10:57] And ultimately ship

[00:10:58] And deliver a great

[00:10:59] First person experience

[00:11:01] To players

[00:11:02] Even if it landed

[00:11:02] Much more narrowly

[00:11:03] Than hoped against

[00:11:04] A heavily consolidated market

[00:11:06] We took some risks

[00:11:08] Along the way

[00:11:09] Marrying aspects of

[00:11:10] Card battlers

[00:11:10] And fighting games

[00:11:11] With first person shooters

[00:11:12] And although some of these

[00:11:14] And other aspects

[00:11:14] Of the IP

[00:11:15] Didn't land as we hoped

[00:11:16] The idea of putting new things

[00:11:17] Into the world

[00:11:18] Is critical

[00:11:19] To push

[00:11:20] The medium forward

[00:11:22] The talent at Firewalk

[00:11:24] And the level of

[00:11:25] Individual craft

[00:11:26] Is truly world class

[00:11:27] And teams within

[00:11:28] Sony Interactive Entertainment

[00:11:30] And across the industry

[00:11:31] Will be fortunate to work with them

[00:11:32] Please reach out to the recruiting

[00:11:33] At PlayStation

[00:11:34] And thank you for all

[00:11:35] The very many teams

[00:11:36] Partners and fans

[00:11:37] Who support us along the way

[00:11:38] See you in the Temptus

[00:11:39] Firewalk Studios

[00:11:41] And with that

[00:11:42] They signed off

[00:11:45] Damn

[00:11:48] Alright

[00:11:50] We've talked about this

[00:11:53] This is what happens

[00:11:55] When one

[00:11:55] You think that

[00:11:56] COVID money

[00:11:57] Is going to be

[00:11:58] Permanent money

[00:12:00] We're seeing it across

[00:12:01] The industry

[00:12:02] All these studios are closing

[00:12:03] The only company

[00:12:05] And I brought this up

[00:12:06] Because Tony Polanco

[00:12:07] A buddy of ours

[00:12:08] Who will actually be

[00:12:09] Here for our 300th episode

[00:12:11] In

[00:12:13] Two weeks

[00:12:13] Yeah, two weeks

[00:12:14] Oh nice

[00:12:15] This is 298 tonight

[00:12:17] Can't believe we're already at that

[00:12:18] But anyways

[00:12:19] He tweeted out about this

[00:12:20] And I was like

[00:12:21] Dude, it's like

[00:12:22] Nintendo is the only one

[00:12:24] That is not closing studios

[00:12:25] And laying people off

[00:12:27] Right now

[00:12:27] That is because

[00:12:28] They decided

[00:12:30] That hey

[00:12:30] COVID was going to be

[00:12:32] A temporary bump

[00:12:33] And we should not

[00:12:35] Overscale

[00:12:36] To meet the new demand

[00:12:37] Because they felt

[00:12:38] It was going to be

[00:12:39] Basically fleeting

[00:12:40] And here we are

[00:12:41] Four years later

[00:12:42] And it's now

[00:12:43] Crushing the industry

[00:12:44] Because they upscaled so much

[00:12:49] Secondly is

[00:12:49] PlayStation

[00:12:50] You gave a new

[00:12:52] Brand new studio

[00:12:53] That yes

[00:12:54] Had a little bit of

[00:12:54] Activision and Destiny

[00:12:56] You know

[00:12:56] People involved

[00:12:57] 400 million dollars

[00:12:59] To build a brand new

[00:13:02] FPS game

[00:13:04] In a realm that is dominated

[00:13:06] By Call of Duty

[00:13:09] And Apex Legends

[00:13:11] I mean like

[00:13:11] Well the big ones

[00:13:14] Call of Duty, Fortnite, Variant

[00:13:16] Well I'm just looking at

[00:13:17] The first person shooters

[00:13:18] Counter-Strike still

[00:13:19] When you look at

[00:13:20] Consoles specifically

[00:13:21] Right?

[00:13:22] It is

[00:13:23] You could even go as far as

[00:13:24] Destiny

[00:13:25] From a first person

[00:13:26] Shooter

[00:13:27] Multiplayer

[00:13:28] Like type game

[00:13:30] It was a tough

[00:13:32] It was a tough genre

[00:13:32] Tough genre of game

[00:13:35] To break into

[00:13:36] I don't even know if it's based off a genre

[00:13:38] So I'm reading this Forbes article

[00:13:40] On this

[00:13:41] On their numbers

[00:13:42] At launch

[00:13:44] So I'll read it verbatim

[00:13:46] Is it about COD?

[00:13:47] Based on numbers

[00:13:48] No on Concord

[00:13:49] Is that the Jason Schreier article?

[00:13:53] Paul Tassi

[00:13:54] Senior contributor

[00:13:55] Oh Paul Tassi

[00:13:55] Yeah

[00:13:55] On Forbes

[00:13:56] Paul Tassi

[00:13:58] For those that don't know that name

[00:13:59] He usually does a lot of coverage

[00:14:01] For Forbes for Destiny

[00:14:04] So I will read off this excerpt

[00:14:06] Just in comparison to

[00:14:08] Launch numbers

[00:14:11] Compared to other

[00:14:13] Let's say just shit shows

[00:14:14] To quote

[00:14:16] Again, I have never seen this before

[00:14:19] Not to this extent

[00:14:20] The $200 million losing disaster

[00:14:24] Suicide Squad

[00:14:25] Kill the Justice League

[00:14:26] Launched with

[00:14:27] 13,000

[00:14:29] Concurrent players

[00:14:30] More at the time

[00:14:31] But 20 times more

[00:14:34] Than what we're seeing

[00:14:35] For Concord here

[00:14:37] Plus it was number one

[00:14:38] On PlayStation's

[00:14:39] Most played list

[00:14:40] For a time

[00:14:40] Redfall

[00:14:42] Launched with

[00:14:43] 6,000 players

[00:14:44] When it came to Steam

[00:14:46] Ubisoft

[00:14:47] Skull and Bones concurrently

[00:14:48] Has more players right now

[00:14:50] Last year's disastrous

[00:14:52] Golem game

[00:14:53] Launched with more players

[00:14:54] I cannot come up with

[00:14:56] Anything here

[00:14:57] That's even remotely close

[00:14:58] Comparison to point

[00:15:00] So it's a

[00:15:02] Reality

[00:15:02] For within the first

[00:15:05] 16 hours

[00:15:06] They had a maximum peak

[00:15:10] Of 697

[00:15:12] Concurrent players

[00:15:14] Wow

[00:15:14] With it dropping from that

[00:15:17] To 180 concurrent players

[00:15:20] Within 6 hours

[00:15:23] Damn

[00:15:26] So

[00:15:27] That's gotta hurt

[00:15:28] It's not only

[00:15:28] Did it not break into

[00:15:31] A PvP

[00:15:32] It just wasn't successful

[00:15:33] Yeah, it just wasn't successful

[00:15:35] At all

[00:15:37] Like

[00:15:37] For you to just stop playing

[00:15:39] That quick

[00:15:40] Is pretty unheard of

[00:15:42] I think

[00:15:42] Damn

[00:15:43] Damn

[00:15:46] That's insane

[00:15:47] I've never heard that before

[00:15:49] I didn't know

[00:15:50] I didn't know

[00:15:51] It was that low in numbers

[00:15:52] Yeah

[00:15:52] I mean

[00:15:53] It lost

[00:15:54] It lost to

[00:15:56] Suicide Squad

[00:15:56] Which was a

[00:15:57] 200 million dollar loser

[00:15:59] Matt just mentioned

[00:16:00] That this was a

[00:16:01] 400 million dollar loser

[00:16:03] Like

[00:16:04] Jesus

[00:16:05] Damn

[00:16:06] This is insane

[00:16:08] Yeah

[00:16:09] Um

[00:16:10] Yeah, so

[00:16:12] That's crazy

[00:16:14] Now granted

[00:16:15] Okay, so

[00:16:15] Let's look at this for

[00:16:17] For a couple things

[00:16:17] Right, is

[00:16:20] I feel bad for anybody

[00:16:22] That's losing their job right now

[00:16:23] Because

[00:16:24] Although

[00:16:25] Here in the states

[00:16:26] They say

[00:16:27] Oh yeah, the job

[00:16:28] The job market's great right now

[00:16:31] It's because nobody's

[00:16:32] Fucking getting jobs right now

[00:16:33] Like everybody's applying

[00:16:34] It's taking forever to get jobs

[00:16:35] So

[00:16:36] I feel for them

[00:16:37] Secondly

[00:16:39] PlayStation

[00:16:40] Looking at you

[00:16:42] This is exactly

[00:16:43] What you should have got

[00:16:44] Expected to happen

[00:16:46] When you put Jim Ryan in charge

[00:16:48] Over Sean Layton

[00:16:50] That was that power battle

[00:16:52] Sean wanted to stick to what made

[00:16:54] PlayStation great

[00:16:55] And invest in the single player experiences

[00:16:58] That have consistently made PlayStation

[00:17:01] As

[00:17:02] Jason and Jerry

[00:17:04] Always put it

[00:17:06] The non-FPS console

[00:17:08] Yes, pretty much

[00:17:10] Speaking of which

[00:17:11] Jason, I used that line this weekend

[00:17:13] The other day I was in a GameStop

[00:17:16] And a guy was asking about

[00:17:18] Xbox versus PlayStation

[00:17:19] And I

[00:17:20] I was like

[00:17:22] Do you play first person shooters?

[00:17:24] And he's like no, I go PlayStation

[00:17:26] Yep. Yes. Yes.

[00:17:28] That's how

[00:17:30] Anybody

[00:17:30] Two questions

[00:17:31] That was so great

[00:17:32] First question

[00:17:33] Do you play first person shooters?

[00:17:35] No

[00:17:35] Yes or no? Yes.

[00:17:36] Okay. PlayStation

[00:17:37] Yeah, it's that easy

[00:17:39] But second follow up question

[00:17:41] Do you have a family?

[00:17:43] Yeah, right?

[00:17:45] Oh, yes. I have a family

[00:17:47] I feel like that should be the first question

[00:17:49] No, I don't have a family

[00:17:49] I think that should be the first question

[00:17:52] If you have a family

[00:17:54] But here's the thing is

[00:17:55] You going into a shop like that

[00:17:57] No, like

[00:17:58] See, I took us off rails this time

[00:18:01] Yes, one in the way

[00:18:02] Anyway, but no

[00:18:05] Like so we all knew this right?

[00:18:06] When when that whole power struggle

[00:18:07] Be have happened between Jim Ryan and Sean Layden

[00:18:09] and Sean Layden

[00:18:10] and Sean Layden left PlayStation

[00:18:11] Is Jim Ryan wanted this whole games as a service

[00:18:15] Online multiplayer games and all that crap

[00:18:17] because they were still trying to

[00:18:19] Hedge up to Fortnite

[00:18:21] Let's be honest

[00:18:22] Like it was the Fortnite race

[00:18:25] And he was still all the way up to the end

[00:18:27] Still pushing for this stuff

[00:18:28] This game came into existence under his watch

[00:18:33] Herman

[00:18:35] In his defense was basically

[00:18:36] Let's pick up the pieces

[00:18:38] Yeah, I think I think you know where you're going with this

[00:18:42] At least I think I agree

[00:18:43] Because I feel like the selling point of this game

[00:18:45] Was probably going to be microtransactions

[00:18:48] And like this is going to be a

[00:18:50] A rough start, but it's going to be

[00:18:53] Bringing in the money type of deal

[00:18:55] Whereas like

[00:18:58] Whoever storyboarded this

[00:18:59] This just did not

[00:19:00] It just didn't work

[00:19:01] It just didn't work

[00:19:01] Yeah

[00:19:01] But at the same time

[00:19:05] A little surprise

[00:19:06] That 210 people were working on this

[00:19:12] And didn't

[00:19:13] Like no one's hand

[00:19:14] Or like

[00:19:16] Is this good?

[00:19:17] Like no one just kind of like

[00:19:19] Or if anything like

[00:19:20] At the same time I would almost applaud them

[00:19:23] If they were playing it smart

[00:19:24] It was like this is a stepping stone

[00:19:25] This ain't going to do shit

[00:19:26] But it's giving me experience for my resume

[00:19:28] I'm doing it

[00:19:29] I would totally do that

[00:19:31] Because I mean like

[00:19:32] Oh yeah

[00:19:32] We know how it is

[00:19:33] Like internships are worth crap

[00:19:35] And I'm going to get paid for something that fails

[00:19:37] But at least it's something that I know

[00:19:39] I can learn from

[00:19:40] So yeah

[00:19:41] I mean

[00:19:42] I applaud them for trying something new at least

[00:19:44] Like let's try some new mechanics

[00:19:46] Did they try something new?

[00:19:47] Well yeah, so the kind of the battle mechanics and whatnot

[00:19:50] This is supposed to be a

[00:19:52] Yeah, this was supposed to be like you said

[00:19:54] Their new cash cow

[00:19:55] But and the characters were

[00:19:57] You know, were kind of unique and original

[00:20:00] But like you said

[00:20:02] I mean when I first saw the trailer for Concord

[00:20:04] I thought like it was Star Wars Outlaws at first

[00:20:08] I was struggling

[00:20:09] I was just struggling to see like what was this about

[00:20:12] Like and like okay what are the

[00:20:14] I also didn't think it was a first person shooter

[00:20:15] I also didn't think it was an online only game either

[00:20:18] It was like Star Wars Outlaws

[00:20:19] Yeah, I didn't

[00:20:21] I didn't think it was going to be a first person

[00:20:23] At first too

[00:20:25] So, but yeah

[00:20:27] I don't think it was very fleshed out

[00:20:28] Or the story wasn't promoted well

[00:20:31] There's just there were too many

[00:20:33] Marketing dropped the fucking ball

[00:20:35] Yeah

[00:20:36] Let's just be honest

[00:20:37] Oh no, we don't we none of us have played it

[00:20:39] So maybe we maybe marketing did a great job

[00:20:41] On a shit show

[00:20:43] They couldn't make it any better

[00:20:44] Well, I mean think about it

[00:20:46] We just multiple like all three of us just said

[00:20:48] Our impressions were something completely fucking different

[00:20:51] True

[00:20:53] Yeah, that's why I didn't play it

[00:20:55] I was like no, I have no idea what the game is

[00:20:57] Even the marketing didn't know what the hell to say

[00:20:58] And this is where I'm going to really rag on Sony right now

[00:21:03] Right?

[00:21:04] Is that you have this

[00:21:07] You also have the fact is that you're only doing

[00:21:12] Remakes and remasters right now

[00:21:15] Um

[00:21:16] Case in point as much as I love it coming out on

[00:21:19] This week with the

[00:21:20] Horizon Zero Dawn remaster

[00:21:22] That's going to make it like

[00:21:24] Forbidden West at the PS5 level, right?

[00:21:27] Yeah

[00:21:28] There's nothing coming out really anymore

[00:21:31] More from PlayStation at least this year

[00:21:33] Other than Astro Bot that is not

[00:21:35] Essentially a remake or remaster

[00:21:37] Like

[00:21:39] Where the fuck are your games?

[00:21:41] Like

[00:21:42] At this point, the only one that's even putting out new games

[00:21:45] Right now is Nintendo

[00:21:46] Like actual new

[00:21:48] Legit games that aren't a remaster

[00:21:51] Or remake of a remaster of a remaster

[00:21:53] Which by the way, the same guy was at that was talking about

[00:21:56] You know, PlayStation stuff. He's got a PS4

[00:21:58] He was thinking about upgrading to PS5 or going series X, right?

[00:22:03] And he even made the joke about fucking last of us

[00:22:05] He's like, why do we even need a remake of a remaster of a remaster?

[00:22:10] Like

[00:22:12] Yeah, make it make sense

[00:22:15] And that's something

[00:22:16] And I gotta give kudos to Jason

[00:22:18] Because Jason's been saying that

[00:22:20] Every time we bring up Last of Us or something like that

[00:22:23] He's like, Jason has always said

[00:22:25] Why the fuck do we need it?

[00:22:26] Which we don't

[00:22:28] Unnecessary

[00:22:29] Just like I showed you guys before

[00:22:32] Until Dawn

[00:22:33] The Until Dawn remake or remaster or whatever

[00:22:36] Redo, whatever

[00:22:39] Remix

[00:22:40] Dude, if Concord

[00:22:41] Like honestly like

[00:22:43] Until Dawn

[00:22:44] Only sold like

[00:22:46] Barely like 500,000

[00:22:48] Like a hundred thousand copies

[00:22:49] Like it's so stupid

[00:22:51] I only have it because of PlayStation Plus

[00:22:53] But it was free

[00:22:54] Yeah, but I mean it's still

[00:22:57] Like what are you guys even trying to do anymore?

[00:23:00] Like if I want to play these games

[00:23:02] Like they're not that bad on like PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 still

[00:23:06] They really aren't that bad

[00:23:08] No

[00:23:08] I was really surprised

[00:23:10] Okay, so

[00:23:10] I'm taking it from a little different

[00:23:12] Until Dawn really quick

[00:23:14] No, no really quick

[00:23:15] 4.3 million, 4.03 million copies of Until Dawn were sold

[00:23:19] Ew, yeah that's not very good

[00:23:21] That was just, that was .35 million behind Death Stranding

[00:23:26] Drive Club sold more than Until Dawn

[00:23:29] How's the quarry?

[00:23:31] Out of curiosity

[00:23:32] Since you bring it up

[00:23:33] I don't know

[00:23:36] It's the same

[00:23:40] I think it's the same studios until dawn

[00:23:43] Supermassive

[00:23:43] They made a bunch of them

[00:23:44] Yeah

[00:23:45] I got to pick up all their games

[00:23:46] Okay, so I'm going to take it a little bit different direction

[00:23:49] So I, to a certain extent

[00:23:52] I don't blame Sony

[00:23:56] I'm not necessarily too mad

[00:23:58] Because in an essence

[00:24:01] They took a shot at a small studio

[00:24:06] They gave a small studio a shot

[00:24:08] And they, like, invested in them

[00:24:12] They made an investment

[00:24:13] And it failed

[00:24:14] Like, investments fail all the frickin' time

[00:24:18] However

[00:24:20] I think that they've lost

[00:24:22] Touch in

[00:24:25] What makes gaming good

[00:24:28] Because, like, granted

[00:24:29] I still haven't played this game or whatever

[00:24:31] But I mean, like

[00:24:31] If it is that unappealing

[00:24:34] The people on launch

[00:24:35] And to drop off that quickly

[00:24:38] Within playing of launch

[00:24:40] Like, the story had to have been awful

[00:24:42] From the get-go

[00:24:43] Unless their sales pitch was just immaculate

[00:24:47] And they just didn't deliver

[00:24:50] But, like, I applaud Sony for taking a chance

[00:24:53] On these guys

[00:24:54] And I feel bad that they failed at it

[00:24:56] And they're getting dropped

[00:24:57] But, I mean, like

[00:24:58] If you're not gonna perform

[00:25:00] It's gonna happen

[00:25:02] So, like, I do that

[00:25:03] But I feel like

[00:25:04] Sony should be learning from this

[00:25:07] That, like

[00:25:08] We need to be looking for some

[00:25:11] Better quality of game

[00:25:14] In

[00:25:14] For our investments

[00:25:16] Rather than just trying to get a money grab

[00:25:20] Agreed

[00:25:21] Yeah

[00:25:21] I mean, like

[00:25:23] Bring back what people want

[00:25:26] Rather than

[00:25:27] You know what

[00:25:28] Let me just

[00:25:28] Let me just

[00:25:31] What was the big seller

[00:25:32] In the last three years?

[00:25:33] Let's see

[00:25:33] What was the best seller

[00:25:34] In the last three years?

[00:25:35] Let's remake that

[00:25:37] Why?

[00:25:38] Unnecessary

[00:25:39] Like, if something that was like

[00:25:40] Yeah, but the hard thing is

[00:25:41] Is what do people want?

[00:25:42] I mean, we've had so many decades of games

[00:25:44] What new thing are you gonna do

[00:25:46] That isn't, like

[00:25:48] 53% taken from other games?

[00:25:50] Take, for example

[00:25:51] The latest Resident Evil remakes

[00:25:54] Those have been popping off

[00:25:57] Silent Hill 2

[00:26:00] Popping off

[00:26:01] But still, our sequels

[00:26:02] Those are remakes

[00:26:05] But they're all

[00:26:06] They're still getting remade

[00:26:07] But they need it

[00:26:09] Because of like, think of like

[00:26:11] PlayStation 1 graphics

[00:26:12] You know, like

[00:26:13] Lara Croft, she

[00:26:14] She would've done better

[00:26:16] If she didn't get rushed

[00:26:18] On the PlayStation 4

[00:26:20] So are you now saying

[00:26:21] This is what people want?

[00:26:22] Is they want

[00:26:23] The old stuff remade?

[00:26:25] So that way they can enjoy it?

[00:26:27] No, I mean like

[00:26:27] Listen to what

[00:26:28] If they

[00:26:28] If Sony wants this

[00:26:30] Like whole remake

[00:26:33] For 20 years

[00:26:34] Classic collection

[00:26:35] Whatever they wanna do

[00:26:36] Like, have them actually go and see

[00:26:39] Like what was our best sellers

[00:26:40] Of the time

[00:26:41] Back then

[00:26:43] PlayStation 1

[00:26:44] You know, those old, old games

[00:26:46] Because those

[00:26:47] We want to see like

[00:26:49] Yeah, okay

[00:26:51] I see where you're going with there

[00:26:53] Final Fantasy 7 Remake

[00:26:56] Godlike

[00:26:58] Reception

[00:26:58] People wanted that

[00:26:59] But that was literally

[00:27:01] 1995

[00:27:01] When that came out

[00:27:03] Almost 30 years ago

[00:27:04] I mean, to that point, right?

[00:27:06] Legend of Dragoon

[00:27:07] They brought out a

[00:27:08] A remaster of the PS1

[00:27:09] But people have been wanting

[00:27:10] A remake of that game

[00:27:12] Yeah

[00:27:13] Forever

[00:27:13] If they want it remade

[00:27:15] You're saying

[00:27:16] Have them research and actually

[00:27:18] Do the games that have been successful

[00:27:20] And that people actually

[00:27:21] Have been verbal that they want

[00:27:23] Yeah

[00:27:24] Instead of going with

[00:27:25] The kind of cash grab

[00:27:26] That like

[00:27:27] The Until Dawn was

[00:27:28] Because it got kind of a resurgence

[00:27:30] Because of

[00:27:31] How many people have been

[00:27:33] And you know

[00:27:34] Social media

[00:27:36] People

[00:27:36] It got

[00:27:37] It got a bit more popular

[00:27:39] Because more and more people

[00:27:40] Were getting into it

[00:27:41] Like in social media

[00:27:42] How was Sony?

[00:27:43] So it got a huge resurgence

[00:27:44] And I

[00:27:46] I honestly think that's why

[00:27:47] We got there for the game

[00:27:48] Well, Jason just brought up a game

[00:27:49] Because he wasn't

[00:27:50] People have been crying for that

[00:27:52] Like screaming

[00:27:52] People have been crying for that

[00:27:53] What did

[00:27:54] But that

[00:27:55] That's why I think it got that much

[00:27:56] Last year

[00:27:57] What one game of the year?

[00:27:59] Elden Ring, right?

[00:28:00] Yeah

[00:28:00] And what was

[00:28:01] What was the very very first

[00:28:03] One of the first games

[00:28:05] That brought it up?

[00:28:07] Bloodborne

[00:28:07] And we have

[00:28:08] Until Dawn remake

[00:28:10] We have Last of Us remake

[00:28:11] Twice I guess

[00:28:12] Yeah

[00:28:13] Maybe three times

[00:28:14] If they want to do it

[00:28:15] A third time

[00:28:15] You know

[00:28:16] But people have been crying

[00:28:18] For 20 years plus

[00:28:19] Of Bloodborne

[00:28:20] To be redone

[00:28:21] And it still hasn't happened

[00:28:22] Yeah

[00:28:23] You know

[00:28:23] And

[00:28:24] As opposed to

[00:28:25] Getting Until Dawn

[00:28:26] Where like

[00:28:28] That was just the biggest surprise

[00:28:30] Yeah

[00:28:31] Like it doesn't fit into our

[00:28:32] Catalog of remakes

[00:28:33] You know

[00:28:34] It's too old

[00:28:35] To be remade

[00:28:36] And I'm like

[00:28:37] No

[00:28:37] No

[00:28:38] Sony just isn't listening

[00:28:39] To some of the people

[00:28:40] That are out there

[00:28:41] Final Fantasy 14

[00:28:42] So real quick

[00:28:42] Agreed

[00:28:43] One last point

[00:28:44] Before I

[00:28:45] Before you can go on

[00:28:46] But Final Fantasy 14

[00:28:47] Failed at launch

[00:28:49] Final Fantasy 14

[00:28:50] Was terrible

[00:28:51] It was literally

[00:28:52] A carbon copy

[00:28:53] Of Final Fantasy 11

[00:28:54] The only difference

[00:28:55] Is that it cost

[00:28:56] The exact same thing

[00:28:57] For nothing different

[00:28:59] Naoki

[00:29:00] Yoshida

[00:29:01] Yoshipi

[00:29:02] God himself

[00:29:04] Took it

[00:29:05] Said what is in right now

[00:29:06] Literally called it

[00:29:08] A Realm Reborn

[00:29:08] A Reborn of the game

[00:29:10] And now it is

[00:29:11] The number one

[00:29:12] Because why

[00:29:13] Every freaking patch

[00:29:15] Every patch

[00:29:17] That they look at

[00:29:18] They

[00:29:18] Go to the forums

[00:29:20] What do the people like

[00:29:21] What do the people not like

[00:29:23] How can we make this better

[00:29:25] The next

[00:29:26] In the next

[00:29:28] Expansion

[00:29:28] We're gonna upgrade

[00:29:29] Your quality of life things

[00:29:31] You know

[00:29:32] You're pitching a game

[00:29:33] As a service now

[00:29:33] You're pitching a game

[00:29:35] Of a service

[00:29:35] I know

[00:29:36] But I mean

[00:29:36] Like

[00:29:37] But

[00:29:37] That's how you do it

[00:29:38] If you wanna go that route

[00:29:39] You don't get that feedback

[00:29:39] Into just a game

[00:29:40] Straight up game

[00:29:41] That doesn't

[00:29:42] So evolve

[00:29:43] Over the years

[00:29:44] But if you wanna go that route

[00:29:45] Which Sony wants to do

[00:29:47] For some reason

[00:29:47] Which I don't understand

[00:29:48] Because

[00:29:49] Xbox has that a little bit

[00:29:51] But you're praising

[00:29:52] A game as a service

[00:29:53] Right now

[00:29:53] You're praising

[00:29:54] Final Fantasy 7

[00:29:55] Or 14

[00:29:56] And we're

[00:29:56] And I praise

[00:29:57] Destiny 2

[00:29:58] For the exact same reason

[00:29:59] So why wouldn't

[00:30:00] Why wouldn't they wanna go

[00:30:01] After a game

[00:30:02] As a service

[00:30:03] No

[00:30:04] But they're

[00:30:04] If they fail at it

[00:30:05] If they don't

[00:30:06] Yeah

[00:30:07] Receive

[00:30:07] Like why

[00:30:09] If you said

[00:30:10] Hey you know what

[00:30:10] This is a terrible product

[00:30:11] Would you wanna buy it

[00:30:14] No

[00:30:15] No

[00:30:15] No

[00:30:16] Exactly

[00:30:17] So even if you

[00:30:18] Don't know

[00:30:19] Hey

[00:30:20] This is a product

[00:30:21] Is it good or bad

[00:30:22] I don't know

[00:30:24] Are you still gonna put

[00:30:25] That $70 to it

[00:30:28] No

[00:30:29] So here's

[00:30:30] Here's something

[00:30:30] I'm not gonna take that gamble

[00:30:31] To think about

[00:30:32] Don't take that gamble

[00:30:33] And what happens

[00:30:34] I mean we've taken that gamble

[00:30:35] Cause we usually

[00:30:35] We go with our own opinion

[00:30:37] We don't wait for reviews

[00:30:38] Well

[00:30:38] Well the

[00:30:39] But

[00:30:40] The order

[00:30:41] To a degree

[00:30:41] Like to

[00:30:42] Well to a degree

[00:30:43] To

[00:30:45] Jason's point

[00:30:45] I would say

[00:30:46] Because of the promotion

[00:30:48] Of

[00:30:49] Of the game

[00:30:49] And like

[00:30:50] We all three said

[00:30:51] We didn't know

[00:30:52] What it was about

[00:30:53] So that's

[00:30:54] I think that's the other thing

[00:30:55] The games that we all took

[00:30:57] It gambles on

[00:30:58] We

[00:30:59] We knew what we were

[00:31:00] Going into

[00:31:01] Because we understood

[00:31:02] The trailer

[00:31:03] Or the gameplay

[00:31:04] Or whatever

[00:31:05] That it was promoting

[00:31:06] I have a slight argument

[00:31:07] And I wanna bring this up

[00:31:08] Cause it might be situational

[00:31:09] But like

[00:31:09] Vault of the Lamb

[00:31:11] I had no idea

[00:31:12] What the hell

[00:31:12] I was getting into for that

[00:31:13] Freaking love that game

[00:31:15] Yeah

[00:31:15] Yeah

[00:31:16] So

[00:31:16] Huge game

[00:31:17] Like

[00:31:18] We've

[00:31:19] The order 1886

[00:31:21] Right

[00:31:21] We all played this at E3

[00:31:23] Right

[00:31:23] And it felt

[00:31:25] Really good

[00:31:26] When we played it

[00:31:27] Like okay

[00:31:28] This has got some cool mechanics

[00:31:29] Cool theme

[00:31:29] Nobody knew that game

[00:31:31] Was only gonna be less than

[00:31:31] An 8 hour gameplay

[00:31:32] Right

[00:31:33] Yeah

[00:31:34] And

[00:31:35] Sony immediately

[00:31:36] Essentially after that happened

[00:31:38] Pretty much jettisoned

[00:31:39] Ready at Dawn

[00:31:40] Which is the studio

[00:31:41] Behind

[00:31:42] The order

[00:31:42] Okay

[00:31:44] Another example

[00:31:45] The order

[00:31:45] I'm not listening

[00:31:47] The

[00:31:47] And people want

[00:31:48] A sequel to the order

[00:31:49] Oh yeah

[00:31:51] Because I

[00:31:51] Still thoroughly enjoy it

[00:31:53] I still go back and play it

[00:31:54] That was a great idea

[00:31:55] I would

[00:31:55] The order

[00:31:56] Even if it wasn't related to the order

[00:31:57] But just those mechanics

[00:31:58] That kind of storyline

[00:31:59] Go for it

[00:32:00] The order sold about

[00:32:01] 2 million copies

[00:32:03] Okay

[00:32:04] Really

[00:32:04] That's it?

[00:32:05] Concord

[00:32:06] No no no

[00:32:06] Done sold more?

[00:32:07] Yeah

[00:32:09] Concord

[00:32:10] Only sold about

[00:32:11] 25,000 copies

[00:32:13] That's surprising

[00:32:13] Yeah

[00:32:14] That's where your loss

[00:32:15] Of 400 million dollars

[00:32:16] Came from

[00:32:17] So

[00:32:17] I tried to look that up

[00:32:18] Really quick

[00:32:18] To add to that

[00:32:20] Just to add to the

[00:32:21] Detriment of

[00:32:22] Concords

[00:32:22] Including in that

[00:32:23] Forbes article

[00:32:24] I was talking about

[00:32:25] They talked about

[00:32:26] How there was a

[00:32:27] Maximum of

[00:32:27] 23,000 players

[00:32:29] Of

[00:32:30] The free

[00:32:31] Beta

[00:32:33] Wow

[00:32:35] So

[00:32:35] They almost had the same amount

[00:32:37] Of free

[00:32:37] Of

[00:32:39] In sales

[00:32:40] But yet

[00:32:40] Even though

[00:32:41] Those still players

[00:32:42] Still didn't play it

[00:32:43] When they

[00:32:44] When it went to launch

[00:32:46] Yeah

[00:32:46] That's rough

[00:32:48] So

[00:32:49] Yeah

[00:32:50] So

[00:32:50] A Playstation

[00:32:51] You just

[00:32:53] Get back to your

[00:32:54] Fucking roots

[00:32:55] Start listening to your

[00:32:57] Your actual player base

[00:32:58] And your fans

[00:33:00] Because you're

[00:33:01] The games

[00:33:02] Bring back the stories

[00:33:03] Like

[00:33:04] Don't

[00:33:05] Don't be too scared

[00:33:05] About return on

[00:33:06] Investment

[00:33:07] On these

[00:33:07] Like

[00:33:08] Yeah

[00:33:09] Concord didn't work out

[00:33:10] Sure

[00:33:11] Because you weren't

[00:33:11] Listening on certain things

[00:33:12] You were looking on

[00:33:13] You were seeing the dollar signs

[00:33:14] On microtransactions

[00:33:15] Probably

[00:33:16] I mean

[00:33:17] Granted these are assumptions

[00:33:18] I still know what the hell

[00:33:19] This game is

[00:33:19] But

[00:33:20] That is my

[00:33:22] Primary guess

[00:33:23] And for

[00:33:24] For Sony to have

[00:33:24] That reputation

[00:33:25] For me to make that

[00:33:26] Assumption

[00:33:26] Is what is ruining

[00:33:28] Sony for me right now

[00:33:29] Because I should not

[00:33:30] Have that assumption

[00:33:30] That they're in

[00:33:31] For a money grab

[00:33:32] That they should be in

[00:33:33] For making the greatest

[00:33:34] Experience for their

[00:33:35] For their clientele

[00:33:36] Out there

[00:33:36] Yeah

[00:33:38] So

[00:33:38] Let's talk to

[00:33:40] Talk about the other

[00:33:40] Engine that could

[00:33:42] So

[00:33:42] With Nintendo

[00:33:45] With them bringing out

[00:33:46] New games

[00:33:47] Right

[00:33:47] You had the new

[00:33:48] Mario Party

[00:33:48] You had the new

[00:33:49] You know

[00:33:49] New Zelda

[00:33:50] They dropped it

[00:33:52] Today

[00:33:52] This week

[00:33:53] That Xenoblade Chronicles

[00:33:54] X

[00:33:55] Which was a

[00:33:56] What a Wii U game

[00:33:59] That's now coming

[00:34:00] To

[00:34:00] I don't remember

[00:34:01] Yeah

[00:34:02] Xenoblade Chronicles

[00:34:03] X

[00:34:03] Which is kind of like

[00:34:04] An offshoot

[00:34:05] Of the Xenoblade Chronicle

[00:34:06] Games

[00:34:07] Okay

[00:34:08] It was either

[00:34:09] A Wii or Wii U

[00:34:10] Title

[00:34:10] One of the two

[00:34:11] You're right

[00:34:11] Wii U

[00:34:12] Wii U

[00:34:13] It's coming to Switch

[00:34:14] On March 20th

[00:34:15] Which is something

[00:34:16] That a lot of

[00:34:17] Xenoblade fans

[00:34:18] Have been asking for

[00:34:19] Oh wow

[00:34:20] Give us the damn game

[00:34:21] On the Switch

[00:34:22] So guess what

[00:34:23] All the game

[00:34:24] All the Xenoblade Chronicle

[00:34:25] Games are now

[00:34:26] On the Switch

[00:34:27] Sweet

[00:34:27] Wow

[00:34:28] I personally think

[00:34:28] That makes huge

[00:34:29] Sense primarily

[00:34:31] Because the Wii U

[00:34:31] Control sucked

[00:34:34] It wasn't bad

[00:34:35] For Mass Effect 3

[00:34:37] Because you could

[00:34:38] Use it to actually

[00:34:39] Position your

[00:34:40] Your people

[00:34:41] On the map

[00:34:41] And whatnot

[00:34:42] It was kind of

[00:34:43] Cool for

[00:34:45] Arkham

[00:34:47] As well

[00:34:47] Okay

[00:34:48] But I do like

[00:34:50] That mechanic

[00:34:50] But I feel like

[00:34:51] That can be

[00:34:52] Accomplished

[00:34:52] Nowadays

[00:34:53] I'm not really sure

[00:34:54] About behind

[00:34:55] But like

[00:34:55] With a companion app

[00:34:56] On your phone

[00:34:57] You can

[00:34:57] And they also

[00:34:59] Did update

[00:35:00] The N64

[00:35:01] 17 plus

[00:35:02] Collection

[00:35:05] To include

[00:35:06] Shadowman

[00:35:08] And Turok 2

[00:35:09] So that now

[00:35:10] Gives you

[00:35:10] Four games

[00:35:11] Turok 2

[00:35:12] Turok and

[00:35:12] Perfect Dark

[00:35:13] Were already on there

[00:35:14] My friends and I

[00:35:15] Did multiplayer

[00:35:16] Turok 2

[00:35:17] All the fucking time

[00:35:18] So fun

[00:35:19] It was a mad dash

[00:35:20] For the

[00:35:20] Creebobor

[00:35:22] That was it

[00:35:23] Like everybody

[00:35:23] Knew where it

[00:35:24] Was going to be

[00:35:24] So we were

[00:35:25] Making mad dashes

[00:35:26] Trying to get to it

[00:35:26] First

[00:35:29] So

[00:35:30] And then you

[00:35:31] Look at like

[00:35:31] And there's

[00:35:33] Three of us

[00:35:34] That are playing it

[00:35:35] Jason

[00:35:36] I don't think

[00:35:37] Jason you haven't

[00:35:38] Picked up echoes

[00:35:38] Yet have you

[00:35:39] Nope

[00:35:40] Not yet

[00:35:42] So three of us

[00:35:43] Are playing echoes

[00:35:45] We're all

[00:35:45] Three

[00:35:46] Pick it up

[00:35:46] We're all

[00:35:47] Three different

[00:35:48] Places in the game

[00:35:50] You know we

[00:35:51] Haven't really

[00:35:52] Really

[00:35:53] Discussed

[00:35:54] The game itself

[00:35:57] Let's

[00:35:58] I want to do

[00:35:58] Some spoiler

[00:35:59] Free stuff

[00:35:59] But

[00:36:00] You know

[00:36:01] I'm not going to

[00:36:02] Be playing it

[00:36:03] That often

[00:36:03] It's going to

[00:36:04] Be most of my

[00:36:04] Life

[00:36:04] It is

[00:36:06] I think

[00:36:06] It's fantastic

[00:36:07] I had

[00:36:08] I've been

[00:36:08] Having a

[00:36:08] Discussion on

[00:36:09] Threads with

[00:36:09] Multiple

[00:36:10] Different people

[00:36:10] About echoes

[00:36:11] And and

[00:36:12] Zelda games

[00:36:13] And stuff like

[00:36:13] That

[00:36:14] Echoes is

[00:36:15] Now my

[00:36:15] Number five

[00:36:16] All-time

[00:36:17] Favorite

[00:36:17] Zelda game

[00:36:18] Nice

[00:36:19] It has

[00:36:21] Now jumped

[00:36:21] In front of

[00:36:22] Twilight Princess

[00:36:23] For me

[00:36:23] Hmm

[00:36:24] Okay I

[00:36:25] Could see

[00:36:25] So now

[00:36:26] It goes

[00:36:27] Link to the

[00:36:27] Past

[00:36:28] Wind Waker

[00:36:29] Ocarina

[00:36:30] Link between

[00:36:32] Worlds

[00:36:32] And echoes

[00:36:35] Ah

[00:36:35] Breath of the

[00:36:36] Wild did not

[00:36:37] Make you

[00:36:37] Top five

[00:36:37] Oh no

[00:36:39] It's

[00:36:39] Oh yeah

[00:36:40] That's right

[00:36:40] Because you

[00:36:40] Hate the

[00:36:41] Fact that the

[00:36:41] Weapons

[00:36:42] Break

[00:36:43] Weapon breaking

[00:36:44] Is like

[00:36:44] I hate that

[00:36:46] Mechanic

[00:36:46] I hate it

[00:36:49] Um

[00:36:50] All right

[00:36:50] All right

[00:36:51] And I think

[00:36:51] For me

[00:36:52] More so

[00:36:52] With tears

[00:36:53] Right

[00:36:53] And I think

[00:36:54] This is where

[00:36:55] Like between

[00:36:56] Tears and

[00:36:57] Echoes where

[00:36:57] I love echoes

[00:36:58] More than

[00:36:59] Than tears

[00:36:59] Right is

[00:37:00] Tears forces

[00:37:01] You use

[00:37:02] A specific

[00:37:03] Mechanic

[00:37:04] Right

[00:37:04] To build

[00:37:05] To build

[00:37:06] Stuff to

[00:37:06] Accomplish

[00:37:07] Side quests

[00:37:07] And beat

[00:37:08] Dungeons

[00:37:08] Right

[00:37:08] Sure

[00:37:10] With echoes

[00:37:11] Like you're

[00:37:12] Not yes

[00:37:13] You have to

[00:37:14] If you want

[00:37:14] To beat

[00:37:16] It you do

[00:37:16] Have to

[00:37:16] Use the

[00:37:16] Echoes

[00:37:17] For your

[00:37:17] Your

[00:37:18] Your stuff

[00:37:19] But you

[00:37:20] Can literally

[00:37:21] Solve puzzles

[00:37:22] By using

[00:37:22] Beds and

[00:37:23] Trampolines

[00:37:24] Like you

[00:37:25] Just throw

[00:37:25] Those out

[00:37:25] There

[00:37:26] Or you

[00:37:27] Can solve

[00:37:27] Them other

[00:37:28] Ways

[00:37:28] Like my

[00:37:29] Son who's

[00:37:30] Been playing

[00:37:30] With echoes

[00:37:32] He's using

[00:37:33] Other things

[00:37:34] He gives me

[00:37:34] So much

[00:37:34] Crap about

[00:37:35] Using beds

[00:37:36] And trampolines

[00:37:38] They're the most

[00:37:38] OP items

[00:37:39] In the

[00:37:40] Arsenal

[00:37:41] Yeah

[00:37:41] Yeah

[00:37:43] But

[00:37:44] Especially

[00:37:45] Because you

[00:37:45] Don't even

[00:37:46] Need potions

[00:37:46] You just

[00:37:47] Need the

[00:37:47] Patience to

[00:37:47] Lay in

[00:37:48] Bed for

[00:37:48] Like five

[00:37:48] Seconds

[00:37:49] And you

[00:37:49] Get half

[00:37:50] Your

[00:37:50] You get

[00:37:51] Zelda's

[00:37:51] Bed

[00:37:51] Later on

[00:37:52] Which is

[00:37:52] Basically

[00:37:52] Takes like

[00:37:53] Five seconds

[00:37:53] To regen

[00:37:54] All your

[00:37:54] Hearts

[00:37:55] There you

[00:37:56] Go

[00:37:56] It's like

[00:37:56] Lay down

[00:37:56] You know

[00:37:59] But I

[00:38:00] Love the

[00:38:01] Fact

[00:38:02] That this

[00:38:03] And for

[00:38:04] Me and

[00:38:04] This is

[00:38:05] Why I

[00:38:05] Talk about

[00:38:05] My top

[00:38:06] Five

[00:38:06] Right

[00:38:06] My top

[00:38:07] Five

[00:38:07] Includes

[00:38:09] Link to

[00:38:09] The Past

[00:38:10] Link Between

[00:38:11] Worlds

[00:38:11] Link Between

[00:38:12] Worlds being a

[00:38:12] Direct sequel of

[00:38:13] Link to

[00:38:13] The Past

[00:38:15] This game

[00:38:16] When you look at

[00:38:17] The map and

[00:38:18] Everything

[00:38:18] Compared to

[00:38:19] Link to

[00:38:19] The Past

[00:38:21] This is in

[00:38:22] That timeline

[00:38:25] Really

[00:38:27] And I

[00:38:28] Will show

[00:38:28] You

[00:38:29] I thought it

[00:38:30] Was pretty

[00:38:30] Close to

[00:38:30] Link's

[00:38:31] Awakening

[00:38:32] No

[00:38:32] Well

[00:38:34] So

[00:38:35] Link's

[00:38:35] Awakening

[00:38:36] I don't

[00:38:36] Even know

[00:38:36] When that

[00:38:37] Even

[00:38:37] Takes

[00:38:38] Place

[00:38:38] In

[00:38:39] The

[00:38:39] Timelines

[00:38:39] Really

[00:38:40] I could

[00:38:40] Go look

[00:38:40] At the

[00:38:40] Book

[00:38:40] But

[00:38:42] It should

[00:38:43] Be before

[00:38:44] Link to

[00:38:45] The Past

[00:38:45] So here's

[00:38:46] Here's the

[00:38:47] Side by

[00:38:47] Side comparison

[00:38:48] So on

[00:38:49] The left

[00:38:49] Is the

[00:38:50] Map of

[00:38:51] Link to

[00:38:51] The Past

[00:38:53] On the

[00:38:53] Right

[00:38:54] Is the

[00:38:54] Map for

[00:38:56] Echoes

[00:38:56] Of Wisdom

[00:38:58] Yeah it's

[00:38:58] Pretty close

[00:38:59] You got

[00:38:59] So

[00:39:00] Here's the

[00:39:01] Thing is

[00:39:01] Down in

[00:39:02] The Gerudo

[00:39:03] Desert

[00:39:03] These

[00:39:04] Three

[00:39:05] For this

[00:39:05] Dungeon

[00:39:06] Right here

[00:39:07] In the

[00:39:08] Bottom

[00:39:08] Left

[00:39:09] You see

[00:39:10] Them in

[00:39:11] The Gerudo

[00:39:12] Desert

[00:39:12] Completely

[00:39:13] Destroyed

[00:39:14] But they're

[00:39:15] There

[00:39:15] Including the

[00:39:16] Main mouth

[00:39:16] For the

[00:39:17] Entrance

[00:39:18] Of the

[00:39:18] Dungeon

[00:39:20] So here

[00:39:21] This little

[00:39:22] L-shaped

[00:39:22] Island right

[00:39:24] Here in

[00:39:24] The middle

[00:39:24] Right below

[00:39:25] Hyrule Castle

[00:39:26] Look at that

[00:39:27] That's where

[00:39:28] Link's house

[00:39:29] Was

[00:39:29] The graveyard

[00:39:34] Is right

[00:39:34] Here

[00:39:36] Right

[00:39:36] So it's

[00:39:38] An older

[00:39:38] It's an

[00:39:39] Older map

[00:39:40] It's much

[00:39:41] Later on

[00:39:41] Like down

[00:39:42] The timeline

[00:39:42] And the

[00:39:44] Chapel that

[00:39:45] You come

[00:39:45] Out of in

[00:39:46] The beginning

[00:39:46] Of link to

[00:39:46] The past

[00:39:47] You go

[00:39:48] Into it

[00:39:49] In an

[00:39:50] Echo

[00:39:50] I forget

[00:39:51] But link to

[00:39:52] The past

[00:39:53] Story wise

[00:39:54] Della actually

[00:39:55] Knew who

[00:39:55] Link was

[00:39:56] Though right

[00:40:00] Um

[00:40:01] I believe

[00:40:02] I thought

[00:40:03] Yeah I

[00:40:03] Believe so

[00:40:04] Echoes

[00:40:05] Della doesn't

[00:40:06] Know who the

[00:40:06] Hell link

[00:40:06] Is

[00:40:08] Yeah they

[00:40:08] Do

[00:40:08] Yeah she

[00:40:09] Does

[00:40:09] And Echoes

[00:40:10] Yeah they

[00:40:10] Know who

[00:40:11] Link is

[00:40:11] He's the

[00:40:11] Swordsman

[00:40:12] Yeah

[00:40:13] Link

[00:40:14] Right but

[00:40:15] She doesn't

[00:40:15] Know him

[00:40:16] She just

[00:40:16] Knows the

[00:40:17] Swordsman

[00:40:17] Doesn't

[00:40:18] Know him

[00:40:18] As link

[00:40:21] Or you

[00:40:22] Talking about

[00:40:22] I thought

[00:40:23] Throughout like

[00:40:24] When when

[00:40:24] You were

[00:40:25] When you

[00:40:25] Finally get

[00:40:26] Out and

[00:40:26] You're

[00:40:27] Exploring

[00:40:28] And then

[00:40:28] Obviously

[00:40:29] A few

[00:40:30] Of the

[00:40:30] Um

[00:40:32] Like

[00:40:33] Neighborhoods

[00:40:33] And people

[00:40:34] You know

[00:40:34] Him as

[00:40:35] The hero

[00:40:35] Yeah like

[00:40:36] He's already

[00:40:36] Saved the

[00:40:37] Yeah so

[00:40:38] I thought

[00:40:39] I thought

[00:40:39] She

[00:40:39] But Zelda

[00:40:41] Doesn't know

[00:40:41] Who he is

[00:40:42] From the

[00:40:43] Beginning

[00:40:43] She just

[00:40:43] Learned about

[00:40:44] The hero

[00:40:44] And the

[00:40:44] Swordsman

[00:40:45] Yeah

[00:40:47] I gotta

[00:40:48] Look back

[00:40:49] At that

[00:40:49] That you

[00:40:49] Might be

[00:40:50] Right

[00:40:50] Especially in

[00:40:51] The opening

[00:40:51] He sees

[00:40:52] I thought

[00:40:52] Face to

[00:40:52] Face

[00:40:53] And doesn't

[00:40:53] I thought

[00:40:53] She knew

[00:40:55] Who he

[00:40:55] Was

[00:40:56] But that

[00:40:57] Also goes

[00:40:57] Back to

[00:40:58] The whole

[00:40:58] Thing about

[00:40:59] That the

[00:40:59] Hero is

[00:41:00] Reincarnated

[00:41:01] Throughout

[00:41:02] The games

[00:41:05] Is

[00:41:06] Yes

[00:41:07] Because

[00:41:07] The hero

[00:41:08] And the

[00:41:09] Princess are

[00:41:09] Reincarnated

[00:41:11] All the

[00:41:12] Time

[00:41:15] I would

[00:41:15] Like it

[00:41:16] Better if

[00:41:16] It was

[00:41:16] Different

[00:41:18] Multiverses

[00:41:19] Reincarnations

[00:41:21] But that

[00:41:22] Makes sense

[00:41:23] So okay

[00:41:24] So here we

[00:41:24] Go

[00:41:25] So yes

[00:41:25] You are

[00:41:25] Correct

[00:41:26] Theo

[00:41:26] Link's

[00:41:27] Awakening

[00:41:27] Is in

[00:41:28] The

[00:41:28] Link to

[00:41:29] The

[00:41:29] It is

[00:41:30] Link

[00:41:30] It is

[00:41:30] In the

[00:41:30] Link to

[00:41:31] The past

[00:41:33] Chronology

[00:41:33] So

[00:41:34] Currently

[00:41:34] Okay

[00:41:35] I've got

[00:41:36] The

[00:41:37] The book

[00:41:38] Out for

[00:41:41] This

[00:41:43] This

[00:41:43] The Hyrule

[00:41:44] Historia

[00:41:45] That is out

[00:41:45] There

[00:41:51] Classic

[00:41:52] Classic

[00:41:53] Classic

[00:41:53] Matt

[00:41:53] Bringing

[00:41:53] Nerd

[00:41:53] To

[00:41:54] Another

[00:41:54] Level

[00:41:55] Yes

[00:41:57] We all

[00:41:57] Know I'm

[00:41:57] Zelda

[00:41:58] Nerd

[00:41:58] Anyways

[00:41:59] So

[00:42:00] Skyward

[00:42:00] Sword is

[00:42:01] The very

[00:42:01] First game

[00:42:01] In the

[00:42:02] Entire

[00:42:02] Timeline

[00:42:03] Like it

[00:42:04] Is

[00:42:04] The

[00:42:05] So

[00:42:07] Skyward

[00:42:08] Sword

[00:42:08] No

[00:42:08] Skyward

[00:42:08] Sword is

[00:42:09] The one

[00:42:09] Where they

[00:42:09] Have the

[00:42:09] Bird

[00:42:09] Like it's

[00:42:10] Up in

[00:42:11] The

[00:42:11] Clouds

[00:42:11] Yeah

[00:42:12] Oh I

[00:42:12] Thought you

[00:42:13] Said

[00:42:13] Link's

[00:42:13] Awakening

[00:42:13] Was

[00:42:13] First

[00:42:14] Nope

[00:42:14] So

[00:42:15] Skyward

[00:42:15] Sword

[00:42:16] Then

[00:42:16] Minish

[00:42:16] Cap

[00:42:17] Then

[00:42:17] Four

[00:42:17] Swords

[00:42:17] And

[00:42:18] Ocarina

[00:42:18] Time

[00:42:19] After

[00:42:20] Ocarina

[00:42:20] Time

[00:42:21] Is

[00:42:21] Where

[00:42:21] Everything

[00:42:22] Splits

[00:42:23] So

[00:42:25] If

[00:42:26] The hero

[00:42:26] Is

[00:42:26] Defeated

[00:42:27] Quote

[00:42:27] Unquote

[00:42:28] In

[00:42:28] Ocarina

[00:42:28] Time

[00:42:28] That's

[00:42:29] What

[00:42:29] Starts

[00:42:29] The

[00:42:29] Decline

[00:42:29] Of

[00:42:30] Hyrule

[00:42:30] And

[00:42:30] The

[00:42:30] Last

[00:42:30] Hero

[00:42:31] Timeline

[00:42:31] Which

[00:42:33] There

[00:42:33] It

[00:42:33] Starts

[00:42:34] A

[00:42:35] Link

[00:42:35] To

[00:42:35] The

[00:42:35] Past

[00:42:36] Then

[00:42:37] It's

[00:42:37] Oracle

[00:42:37] Of

[00:42:37] Ages

[00:42:38] And

[00:42:38] Oracle

[00:42:38] Of

[00:42:38] Seasons

[00:42:39] And

[00:42:39] Link's

[00:42:40] Awakening

[00:42:42] And

[00:42:43] In

[00:42:43] That

[00:42:43] Timeline

[00:42:44] After

[00:42:44] Link's

[00:42:44] Awakening

[00:42:45] Zelda

[00:42:46] 1

[00:42:46] And

[00:42:47] The

[00:42:47] Original

[00:42:47] Zelda

[00:42:48] 1

[00:42:48] And

[00:42:48] Zelda

[00:42:48] 2

[00:42:48] Actually

[00:42:49] Take

[00:42:49] Place

[00:42:49] So

[00:42:50] Those

[00:42:50] Games

[00:42:51] Actually

[00:42:51] Take

[00:42:51] Place

[00:42:51] After

[00:42:52] Link

[00:42:53] To

[00:42:53] The

[00:42:53] Past

[00:42:53] Link's

[00:42:54] Awakening

[00:42:55] Then

[00:42:55] You

[00:42:56] Have

[00:42:56] The

[00:42:56] Hero

[00:42:57] Is

[00:42:57] Triumphant

[00:42:57] And

[00:42:57] You

[00:42:57] Have

[00:42:58] The

[00:42:58] Sacred

[00:42:58] Realm

[00:42:59] Remains

[00:43:00] Protected

[00:43:00] And

[00:43:01] That's

[00:43:01] Where

[00:43:01] You

[00:43:18] Now

[00:43:19] Keep

[00:43:19] To

[00:43:19] The

[00:43:20] Story

[00:43:20] Before

[00:43:23] Breath

[00:43:23] of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom um basically everybody thinks that those games are just the

[00:43:29] convergence of the timelines but Echoes would then fit After Link's Awakening in that that

[00:43:37] perspective so that would kind of make sense with the reincarnations and everything so

[00:43:41] honestly though I absolutely love Echoes and I'm having so much fun with it and I think what makes

[00:43:49] the game so good is also it is a gateway game meaning my kids are playing it and as I'm talking

[00:44:00] to them about different things in the game and especially the latter part where we've already

[00:44:04] sealed the first set of all the rifts now we're moving on to the latter half of the game

[00:44:10] oh cool my oldest has asked about playing Link's Awakening like actually really playing Link's

[00:44:17] Awakening also because I mentioned some things about Link to the Past and Ocarina of Time

[00:44:23] he actually wants to experience those games as well so this is like nice it's an entry level it's a

[00:44:29] it's an entry game into the franchise I feel like for a lot of people have never played Zelda

[00:44:34] I feel like if Link's Awakening is available on the Game Boy app on Switch you should make him play that

[00:44:40] one instead of the Switch version what's wrong with the Switch version versus the DX

[00:44:48] against the original Game Boy yeah just just so he could uh experience the original Game Boy

[00:44:55] know your roots know your roots dude if that's the case I'm gonna go make him play Zelda 1

[00:45:00] on the NES where we had no fucking map do it there you go do it he should not do it alone um

[00:45:08] show him the controller like show him the controller back to like case A

[00:45:12] hey son this is what we had this was our controller no this was it and then he has seen this

[00:45:20] okay yeah see there you go old school Super Nintendo controller there you go this is the

[00:45:24] this is the one they brought out for the for the Switch yeah but it's replicate it's a replica of the

[00:45:30] Super Nintendo correct but I so I I will probably bring up something that you you and the boys probably

[00:45:38] didn't do because you played legitimately um no no I played I played legitimately because I'm a I'm a

[00:45:47] veteran yeah I will applaud just went through the whole thing he's like I will applaud the coders for

[00:45:55] this for allowing you to walk on top of walls and trees because I just climb through everything and

[00:46:03] unlock the entire map without pleading anything uh so like if there's this giant wall I just build a

[00:46:09] pile of beds and jump on top of the trees and just walk along and like yeah I applaud them for not

[00:46:17] bringing in invisible walls and just letting you roam free up until well up until the point where you go

[00:46:23] explore the mountains up in the northwest or northeast part of the map there's actually walls up there to where

[00:46:29] you cannot go there are ceilings there essentially that's but it's still very it's practically the edge

[00:46:36] of the map at that point yes it is okay it's not breath of the wild where you go see a mountain it's

[00:46:41] like if you've got enough stamina potions you can go freaking climb the whole damn thing and go stand on top

[00:46:46] of the world right it's right um but I have to applaud I have to applaud Nintendo for one giving us

[00:46:53] a game where we actually get to play as Zelda like actually she is the heroine of the game yeah you know

[00:46:58] um and giving us different mechanics and giving us the freedom to solve them whenever like I keep

[00:47:04] getting told like the kids keep going no use dark knight use dark nut for everything I'm like no no

[00:47:08] no I'm using fucking buzz blob for everything and that shit's great you just drop them right on top of

[00:47:14] the enemy and just sit back and watch him just fucking electrocuting him like it's great um

[00:47:19] totally op but but just the fact is that they built a game in such a way that allows both the fans of the

[00:47:28] series and new really newcomers to this series right the kids have seen me play breath and tears and

[00:47:35] stuff like that but they haven't really sat down themselves and really cracked into a Zelda game

[00:47:40] and they've built a game that is very accessible even for the younger the younger audience that is now

[00:47:47] making that younger audience go okay after this this is the next one I want to play this is the next one

[00:47:53] I want to play like and now we get to see some of those games that are now considered retro that

[00:47:58] are near and dear to our hearts these kids want to play now which and they're starting there I was to

[00:48:05] add to your point that uh yeah those are uh people are starting to stream it down now too not just echoes but

[00:48:12] like you said echoes is kind of a gateway to like people have been so going to the like the og on nes and

[00:48:20] and so nintendo i am ploy don't remake them please don't remake them just let us have access give us

[00:48:26] no they're playing original games but yeah yeah just give us hd remasters but here's my thing is no not

[00:48:32] even remasters just continue to have us have access to the apps that ports it so that way we have the

[00:48:37] ability to play that's it that's it nintendo i implore you with all the wind waker the give me

[00:48:46] wind waker and give me twilight princess that's it i haven't played it i need to be able to play it

[00:48:52] wind waker's fantastic yeah wind waker please and they need to give us the uh the wii u version

[00:48:59] not the original gamecube because the wii u version gave us the one item that makes sailing

[00:49:05] fucking fantastic and a great quality of life change okay so in the original real quick before

[00:49:11] we talk about what we've been playing right is that um in the original game you had to if you wanted to

[00:49:17] change course because the wind was blowing a certain way you had to sit there and use the wind waker

[00:49:23] change the direction of the wind so you could move your boat and go the direction of the wind

[00:49:27] in the wii u version they added in an item that once you get the boat you can go back to the auction

[00:49:35] house get this item and it just allows you just to change directions at will you don't have to stop

[00:49:41] and use the wind waker to change the direction of the wind and stuff like that which was super super

[00:49:45] tedious in the original game okay so that one thing was just needed right so i think nintendo give us

[00:49:53] give us one waker yes please and whatnot please thank you and while you're at it metroid prime 2 and 3

[00:50:02] um so anyways jason what you been playing what you been watching um not much um not even a new

[00:50:20] netflix series or crunch or something like uh i tried jumping back on fall fantasy 7 right now to uh

[00:50:27] do the platinum run um remake or rebirth remake or rebirth rebirth um okay like so i took a little

[00:50:37] break from it uh got work now so you know where it's been uh quite chaotic for the holiday season so

[00:50:46] you know you know you know it's holiday season now so it's no time to no time to rest

[00:50:54] yeah no rest for the weary well you know i rest and i just go home and i'm like that

[00:51:02] okay so uh jerry did you get any gaming in over the last week with everything you had going on

[00:51:08] um i got a little bit i i did a little bit to distract me i've uh uh been continuing with the

[00:51:17] penguin series very good uh uh yeah i think it's um really setting up the uh next batman and that

[00:51:26] that whole series the matt reeves series uh very well so it's it's cool uh i would definitely recommend

[00:51:31] that and uh yeah i've been i tried out a new game i got astrobot um ace i have to say uh i definitely

[00:51:40] agree with it uh being a contender for game of the year um if it wins i will not be uh uh surprised

[00:51:48] i'm just uh as as a i just always try and be biased and call it by like what i'm interpreting

[00:51:55] out there i just think wukong's gonna take it i i think it's also uh you don't think so theia

[00:52:03] i don't i don't okay i don't think wukong is deserving of game of the year it's beautiful

[00:52:09] but there's still too much wrong with it in my opinion like what i'm i'm curious i'm curious because

[00:52:17] i will i will i will beat a dead horse by saying like it still needs a parry mechanic

[00:52:23] i mean that that's a huge thing that they missed on uh and to and also to have to where like timing

[00:52:31] your dodge if you're good at timing your dodge you're a god in the game like that's it it's the

[00:52:39] primary mechanic that you need to figure out is is the dodge you don't really need to master your

[00:52:44] other techniques or anything like that is after after dodge it's a button smash and and you win

[00:52:52] and that's how i feel the game is so i feel like it's it's it's only focused on uh honing one thing

[00:53:02] and it's a dodge okay i'm i'm just like i said i'm going based on what i'm kind of interpreting

[00:53:10] out there and like i see everyone's still streaming it but you know um there you know there are those

[00:53:17] tiktok accounts that are dedicated to like showing every secret in the game so i just think i just

[00:53:23] kind of see it as i think it's the fan favorite that's what i'm kind of interpreting that it might win

[00:53:29] here in a couple weeks i would say deserves it it's it is so awesome here in a couple weeks we'll get

[00:53:35] the we should probably get the vote oh yeah yeah yeah but uh yeah just wanted to say that and like

[00:53:40] yeah astrobot's been a lot of fun i just love yeah man i could i could talk you know hours about that

[00:53:46] game really because it i really feel like it could rival odyssey i think to a huge degree um it's

[00:53:56] it's it incorporates everything that they incorporate the sony wants to incorporate

[00:54:02] next week it's so cool let's do an astrobot and review next week i'm i'm kind of down because like

[00:54:08] the the way every level like got structured and some and the themed levels i replayed a couple

[00:54:15] times i didn't even care like go back to back going through it because it was just so many times i

[00:54:21] played uncharted yeah the uncharted level dude the god of war and the and the uh um horizon levels so

[00:54:28] well done and like so fun and cute to like like it it's like the honestly it's like the first time i

[00:54:36] played little big planet when you're going through like the intro it's it gives you that sense of

[00:54:41] wonder and it's just it's such a fun fun game yeah so it's definitely a recommend what have you been

[00:54:48] playing uh not too much i had my aunt visit for a long long weekend so we were doing some activities

[00:54:57] uh i did fit in a little bit of destiny um getting ready for season of the loss that just started for

[00:55:05] their halloween events um played a little bit of echoes um i just finished gerudo um nice and

[00:55:17] yeah that's pretty much it like a little bit of astrobot here and there um i am on the god of war

[00:55:23] uh level oh nice and that one's a lot of fun it's a lot of fun dude yeah just free just freezing

[00:55:30] everything with the axe it's just so much yeah that's the thing all the little like things that

[00:55:36] they incorporated from the games in those little levels it's just yeah it's just so fun to see

[00:55:42] and i will admit that there's a lot of the character bots that i don't know who they are when i'm

[00:55:49] collecting them we will look it was surprised by a lot of those like you said there were a lot dude

[00:55:54] yeah we'll talk about that next week we'll do an astrobot in review since um besides echoes i

[00:56:02] finished my halloween decorations for my island oh hey i saw your video decorated the temporary uh

[00:56:10] decorations are are up and uh christmas is up next christmas is next oh so yeah so you go over to

[00:56:17] my tiktok account you can also go to our youtube page and i do have the video up showing off the uh

[00:56:23] decoration so okay um you know i do want to thank everybody who crashed game night with us tonight

[00:56:28] and kind of lurked in the background catched us um caught us i know gravy biscuits you came in right

[00:56:32] at the very end um well the bottle will be right back up right after the uh after the show um

[00:56:38] um but just with everything going on um in the climate you know in the world in the u.s um

[00:56:44] especially after some events that happened in the u.s this weekend please everybody just be excellent to

[00:56:50] each other that's right everybody all you nerds out there we want to uh send out that same message

[00:56:56] uh we want to you know uh lend a helping hand try and um uh help out and and uh try and be a little

[00:57:04] uh safer let's try just try to do and be a little better let's try to practice a little bit of

[00:57:10] patience uh you know try to have an open mind and you know put our put ourselves in in the other

[00:57:17] person's shoe uh if need be and just try and understand just try and be understanding uh and

[00:57:22] overall let's just be uh safe out there you know we're getting close to that election so uh more and

[00:57:28] more people are getting a little uh uh crazy and and uh you know in for their opinions but you know

[00:57:35] let's just try and be open and listen and let's just overall let's just be safe and uh j-rock

[00:57:42] j-bone yeah lion it's okay jerry you always like to take all the stuff so

[00:57:48] what are you talking about i said talking about talking about talking about the election

[00:57:53] i just mentioned it i'm just saying be safe and then i say it was a setup i just set you up what are you

[00:57:58] doing okay okay okay anyways guys you know it's he's complaining because you're giving him

[00:58:05] forcing him to do effort when he's not feeling good he's just complaining yeah he's complaining

[00:58:09] he's a grumpy lion right now he's a grumpy lion so let's just let this finish and then we can let

[00:58:20] him get to bed because the lion wants to sleep tonight you know it he needs to go brush his mane

[00:58:28] but yeah it's um you know it is it is coming up on election time so please just go out there

[00:58:34] if you haven't already put in your votes put in your votes um yeah you know that's all i got for this
