Episode 299 - Playstation Plus For November, Nintendo Music, And Changes Coming To MTG

On this episode we discuss the Playstation Games for November, Nintendo Music, and the changes coming to Magic The Gathering.

[00:00:08] And with that, welcome to this election night edition of Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt DiOrio, your host as always. We are sans the beanie one, he's taking care of some personal issues with the family. So we'll be on him, Jason will be on there momentarily. I am joined by the beanie one, or not, where the beanie one wannabe rather.

[00:00:33] The baby face.

[00:00:34] The baby face one. He's missing his beanie though.

[00:00:40] Thea Walski.

[00:00:41] I have a test for Jerry. So nobody in the comments or anything say anything, or Jason or Matt say anything. We're going to see if he does his homework and watches when he's not participating.

[00:00:59] So I'm going to show these off real quick.

[00:01:03] And see if he ends up seeing them on the recording.

[00:01:08] Oh!

[00:01:09] They're a lot of fun.

[00:01:11] I don't want to say it so that way...

[00:01:12] Bullseye? What are those? Hold on.

[00:01:13] I also don't want to say it because I don't want him to cheat and do his homework by listening.

[00:01:18] Okay, but...

[00:01:19] But it's Targets Bullseye, the dogs.

[00:01:23] That's awesome.

[00:01:26] I love these so far.

[00:01:28] So far, there's only the two.

[00:01:30] The other two are supposed to come out in December.

[00:01:32] So we'll see how that goes.

[00:01:33] Well then, while we're at it, we'll just do this real quick and get out of the way.

[00:01:38] I got a new pop.

[00:01:39] Yes, you did.

[00:01:40] Yes, I did.

[00:01:42] This is the seven of nine pop for Picard season three.

[00:01:49] So we all know how much I love Picard and Star Trek in general.

[00:01:53] And I saw this and everywhere had it up for like pre-order.

[00:01:59] Funko had it already up for sale, ready to go.

[00:02:01] So I just ordered it from Funko.

[00:02:05] So it is, yeah, and it is sitting right next to a reorganized shelf that allows me to have just her ship and just her in its own spot.

[00:02:16] Nice.

[00:02:17] Without being surrounded by other ships, I kind of separated everything a little bit, spread them out a little bit more.

[00:02:21] There are two coming out that are coming soon, but I don't know if you're very interested in them.

[00:02:27] Because they are the Borg Queen.

[00:02:29] Picard as Gord and the Borg Queen.

[00:02:30] Yes, I want Picard as Locutus.

[00:02:33] That is something.

[00:02:34] Hey!

[00:02:35] And there, ladies and gentlemen, is our matri D of services, the man with the couch, the lion's mane.

[00:02:43] The man, the myth, and the legend, Jason Bledio.

[00:02:46] How's it going, guys?

[00:02:47] How's it going?

[00:02:47] Sorry, a little late, you know.

[00:02:49] It's all right.

[00:02:50] You look like you're cold or something.

[00:02:52] Yeah, dude.

[00:02:52] It's a little bit...

[00:02:53] He ain't in Colorado, so I don't know how he's fucking cold.

[00:02:56] Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.

[00:02:57] Listen, listen, listen.

[00:02:59] It's snowing here, it's just freaking cold.

[00:03:02] There's snowing here.

[00:03:03] My house is not very well insulated, so, you know.

[00:03:09] All right.

[00:03:10] Not very well insulated for that, like, 65 degree weather you probably have?

[00:03:13] Nah, yeah, that's 65, bro.

[00:03:15] It's too cold, bro.

[00:03:16] Let's do a live check-in on the weather.

[00:03:17] Oh, it is currently a frigid 61 degrees in Long Beach right now.

[00:03:24] Yeah.

[00:03:24] See, dude?

[00:03:24] Low 60s can't handle it, bro.

[00:03:26] It's too small.

[00:03:27] It's too low, bro.

[00:03:27] I'm gonna be sweating my balls off.

[00:03:29] What lies, lies.

[00:03:31] Yes, huh?

[00:03:32] The white stuff you guys call snow, you know?

[00:03:36] Like, I don't know what the hell that is.

[00:03:37] It's all fairytale.

[00:03:38] I don't know.

[00:03:40] It's fairytale dust, bro.

[00:03:41] It's still snowing, you know.

[00:03:42] Fairytale dust.

[00:03:43] We don't have any of it here, Theo.

[00:03:46] No?

[00:03:46] Oh, we got about-

[00:03:47] We've missed out on the snow!

[00:03:49] We've had about a quarter inch so far, and it's still snowing.

[00:03:52] Here up in L time, yeah, we missed the snow on the last round the other day, and we're

[00:03:56] missing it tonight.

[00:03:57] It's definitely moving north, because it started in Denver when I left work, and it had not

[00:04:03] hit my house until a little after.

[00:04:06] So you might see something.

[00:04:08] So folks, like I mentioned, this is an election night edition of Crashing Game Night.

[00:04:12] However, we're not gonna be talking results.

[00:04:15] We're gonna talk politics.

[00:04:16] You know, the only politics we talk about is being good to each other, supporting our

[00:04:22] friends in the LGBT community, you know, supporting diversity, all that, but we won't

[00:04:27] talk about anything with the election.

[00:04:29] We just want to give you guys some laughs for tonight, because let's be honest, the world's

[00:04:34] kind of been watching us the last week.

[00:04:36] I've got some friends, you know, people I know up in Canada that are kind of making their

[00:04:40] posts online that they're here as their emotional support Canadians.

[00:04:44] It's been pretty damn stressful around here.

[00:04:47] Last couple days.

[00:04:48] So let's give us some laughs.

[00:04:51] You know, I do want to start it out.

[00:04:54] This one's for Jason.

[00:04:55] Oh, and this was released.

[00:05:01] Right.

[00:05:02] Right.

[00:05:02] Like literally after we stopped last right after we did this.

[00:05:09] So let's go to the theater.

[00:05:13] We're going to put we're going to go baby Jason.

[00:05:17] Baby Jason.

[00:05:18] We're going baby Jason.

[00:05:20] Makes me think of a end game.

[00:05:22] Like, I don't know if it was old me or baby me, but somebody peed my pants.

[00:05:28] So, Jason, it is your monthly games for PlayStation Plus for the month of November.

[00:05:35] So we have Hot Wheels Unleashed 2 turbocharged.

[00:05:40] We have Ghostwire Tokyo.

[00:05:42] And the third one is Death Note Killer Within.

[00:05:49] So, Jason, I'm pretty excited.

[00:05:51] You usually get the first say on the matter.

[00:05:53] What say you, sir?

[00:05:54] You know, one obvious real big one, Ghostwire Tokyo.

[00:05:59] Big hit.

[00:06:01] Big game.

[00:06:03] It's a great way to have some fun for November before all the holiday stuff,

[00:06:10] before you pick up new games for Black Friday,

[00:06:14] before December comes out.

[00:06:16] You know, Christmas right around the corner.

[00:06:19] The Death Note one.

[00:06:22] I have no idea about that one.

[00:06:25] It's a day one release.

[00:06:26] So, yo, shout out to PlayStation 4 and do a day one release.

[00:06:31] It is a day one release.

[00:06:32] It's surprising.

[00:06:33] Did you watch Death Note at least though, Jason?

[00:06:35] Huh?

[00:06:36] You watched Death Note though, right?

[00:06:38] Yeah.

[00:06:38] Okay.

[00:06:39] So, I mean, it seems like it's going to be like a Danganronpa, I guess,

[00:06:45] where it's like the suspense or like a Ace Attorney kind of thing.

[00:06:49] I don't know.

[00:06:50] So, I have nothing to say.

[00:06:52] So, let's go to the synopsis for it.

[00:06:53] Hot Wheels, you know, it's a Hot Wheels game.

[00:06:56] Like, you know, kids.

[00:06:56] It's a racing game.

[00:06:57] Yeah, it's a race.

[00:06:58] Kids racing.

[00:06:59] All right.

[00:07:00] So, Death Note Killer Within.

[00:07:02] For those that are watching at home, you're seeing us on PlayStation Blog.

[00:07:05] For those listening at home, you can head over to Blog.PlayStation.com.

[00:07:09] Check it out there.

[00:07:10] But the synopsis is, Death Note Killer Within is an online social deduction game for up to 10 players.

[00:07:17] Players will split into two teams with different objectives.

[00:07:21] To win the game, players will need to figure out each other's identities and either eliminate L.

[00:07:27] L.

[00:07:28] L who threatens Kira's power or sees the Death Note.

[00:07:31] Enjoy a battle of wits as Kira and his followers or as L and the investigators in the world of Death Note.

[00:07:37] As equally matched opponents, the two teams clash to control the game while hiding their true identities from each other.

[00:07:42] The Death Note is hidden among the players, leading to a thrilling game of cat and mouse until one team overpowers the other.

[00:07:51] Each role has its own characteristics, allowing you to master a deep sense of strategy and tactical play.

[00:07:56] Depending on your assigned role, a wide range of strategies can be formulated and each randomized scenario develops into a high stakes game of tactics.

[00:08:03] That actually sounds like a lot of fun.

[00:08:06] It's basically an online clue.

[00:08:09] Yeah, I was kind of thinking like it's like a Death Note skin over Among Us.

[00:08:14] Yeah.

[00:08:14] With murder dinner theater type of deal.

[00:08:18] Yeah.

[00:08:20] Can we get can we get Tim Curry as the butler to host everything?

[00:08:25] That'd be great.

[00:08:26] I feel that having the team play does make it a little bit more appealing.

[00:08:33] Not lopsided because Among Us, you know, you can only have two.

[00:08:37] You only have two.

[00:08:37] Yeah, you can easily.

[00:08:38] Well, you can have three like one, two, I think three imposters.

[00:08:45] But it does make it a little bit more team based rather than I'm going to do this and not get caught and then, you know, try to lie it out.

[00:08:57] Well, there is going to be a lot of lie deception, you know, just like those one night werewolves board games.

[00:09:07] It's going to have that a lot.

[00:09:09] Never played one night werewolves.

[00:09:10] I think that it just depends on what the tasks and what the powers those people have is definitely going to make or break that game.

[00:09:18] Because Among Us, when it started, when it was big, there was not that many.

[00:09:26] There was like probably zero mods to maybe very little.

[00:09:30] But now there's so many mods that make that game a lot more interesting or a lot more tactical, a lot more.

[00:09:38] I can do this.

[00:09:39] I can do that.

[00:09:40] Versus, you know, it wasn't proximity chat a big thing.

[00:09:43] And proximity chat made it huge.

[00:09:46] But then what made it even larger and what some people go back to is because there's like, they're like, for example, one of the roles is the jester.

[00:09:54] And you want to be kicked out by everybody in order to win.

[00:09:59] So you kind of want to play interesting.

[00:10:01] You're you're you're a crewmate that wants to play as a imposter.

[00:10:06] And then there's also like, OK, you can't quite make it too obvious.

[00:10:09] Yeah, exactly.

[00:10:10] So it's there's a lot more.

[00:10:12] It does have like some some some pros and cons.

[00:10:16] And Among Us did get a lot better with the mods.

[00:10:19] But so we'll see.

[00:10:21] I mean, it's really interesting.

[00:10:23] It's a decent slate.

[00:10:25] Ghostwire, I will absolutely pick.

[00:10:26] Oh, yeah, one up.

[00:10:27] I'll drop that.

[00:10:28] I'll pick that up for free.

[00:10:29] You know, I just want to pay full price.

[00:10:32] I mean, I usually add everything anyways.

[00:10:35] I don't.

[00:10:36] So it's it's free.

[00:10:37] I just it's a tosses in my catalog.

[00:10:39] Do you know how many times I've gone back to going?

[00:10:41] OK, we could try this one.

[00:10:42] So if you know, I know I'm not going to play it.

[00:10:45] So I'm not going to like, no.

[00:10:47] Yeah, I'm not going to play it.

[00:10:49] Sorry, bro.

[00:10:49] Like the other thing coming out of PlayStation World was that yesterday they announced

[00:10:56] that there's gonna be 50 plus games are going to be available at launch of the PS5 Pro

[00:11:01] on Thursday that are going to be enhanced games.

[00:11:04] Um, when you look at the list, they're saying it's going to basically.

[00:11:09] Potentially add additional ray tracing, spectral super solution, whatever.

[00:11:13] But it's interesting the amount of third party titles that are on this list.

[00:11:18] So as we look at the big one, you've got Alan Wake to Albatross, Apex Legends, Assassin's

[00:11:24] Creed Mirage.

[00:11:24] You've got Baldur's Gate, Black Ops 6, College Football 25, Dead Island 2, which is like when

[00:11:33] are they coming out with a sequel?

[00:11:34] Because I remember, you know.

[00:11:36] E3 2014, us standing in line and seeing that trailer over and over and over again.

[00:11:40] Um, you know, Demon's Souls, Diablo 4, Dragon Age Veil Guard, which just came out, which is

[00:11:46] has some mixed reviews on it.

[00:11:48] Um, Dragon's Dogma 2.

[00:11:50] You've got, uh, FC 25, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Fortnite, God of War Ragnarok, Hogwarts Legacy,

[00:11:58] both Horizon games.

[00:11:59] Um, Madden 25, um, all three Spider-Man games, you know, remastered Miles Morales in 2.

[00:12:05] Um, NBA, NBA 2K25, um, Pal World, you know, before it's shut down.

[00:12:13] Um, you know, Ratchet and Clank Rift Apart, you've got RE4, RE Village, you've got Star Wars

[00:12:20] Jedi Survivor, Outlaws, um, Test Drive, The Crew.

[00:12:24] Um, you've got Last of Us Part 1 and 2, Until Dawn, uh, War Thunder, Warframe, and War, uh,

[00:12:30] World of Warships, which Warframe and World of Warships, those are all free games to play.

[00:12:35] So, honestly, that's a pretty decent list, um, of games that'll be available with enhanced

[00:12:42] graphics on it.

[00:12:43] I still hold true that it is, you know, it's not necessarily worth it.

[00:12:47] So, um, so.

[00:12:54] Moving on over, um, Nintendo, and this broke within the last hour.

[00:12:59] Um, John Van Aki, uh, who is part of Nintendo America, I've been following him for years.

[00:13:05] Um, he tweeted out this like 30 minutes ago, just as I've already prepped.

[00:13:09] So, Johnny V, thank you for pulling this out there because, um, you know, there's so many

[00:13:14] Nintendo accounts out there, but they did put out an English translation over on Twitter.

[00:13:20] I refuse to call it X.

[00:13:22] Um, so if you go over to the Nintendo CO LTD account, um, it does say this is for Okawa.

[00:13:28] Um, at today's corporate management policy briefing, we announced that Nintendo Switch software will

[00:13:34] also be playable on the successor to this Nintendo Switch.

[00:13:38] Nintendo Switch online will be available on the successor to Nintendo Switch as well.

[00:13:43] Uh, further information about the successor to the Switch, including its, uh, compatibility with Nintendo Switch will be announced at a later date.

[00:13:51] Um, but the fact is that you're going to be able to play Switch software and Switch online on the successor.

[00:13:56] I think that's big because that was one of the things that everyone was kind of worried about was, is my stuff going to transfer over?

[00:14:03] And I think this kind of gives us a little bit of a glimpse in that we are going to in some way, shape or form, get a backwards compatibility out of it.

[00:14:11] I also am curious with the phrasing of successor to the Switch, if the new one's going to even be called Switch.

[00:14:22] Well, um, hopefully they didn't go with a, hopefully they don't go like we and we, you know?

[00:14:29] Yeah, I don't want to switch you.

[00:14:32] You know, just give me a Switch too and you know, we can be done with it.

[00:14:36] So, um, who knows what they're going to call it?

[00:14:39] Um, switch up.

[00:14:41] You know, switch up.

[00:14:43] Oh, it could be called the super switch.

[00:14:46] Which blue?

[00:14:47] No, no, you know what you don't want to be the super switch.

[00:14:51] No, like the super Ness.

[00:14:52] No.

[00:14:55] Um, but that being said, I think overall, I think this is a good move for Nintendo.

[00:14:59] Um, it's, it shows that they're still kind of keeping that.

[00:15:04] What made the 3DS so good?

[00:15:08] You know, cause you could still play all your DS games and you could, you know, you have backwards compatibility and you know, some of the Game Boy games out there and stuff and whatnot.

[00:15:15] So, um, the successor.

[00:15:18] And people that have the older games games or some fricking, uh, Game Boy advanced game slots.

[00:15:24] Yeah.

[00:15:24] I do that.

[00:15:26] And like, like, like we said before the people that have the old games, they don't want to pay an extra 60, $70 to buy the same game.

[00:15:34] Yeah.

[00:15:35] Like over again.

[00:15:36] Like remember.

[00:15:37] Um, we're having to maintain another console.

[00:15:41] Yeah.

[00:15:42] Yeah, exactly.

[00:15:43] So, um, now in all of this Nintendo, give us Wind Waker.

[00:15:51] Yes.

[00:15:52] They probably will like at some point.

[00:15:56] At some point, like they should already have it done.

[00:15:58] Nah, at some point.

[00:16:00] Come on, man.

[00:16:00] Can't you can't.

[00:16:02] Nintendo is all about giving people when it, when it drops big, it's going to drop big.

[00:16:07] So, I mean, it's not, it's not going to be like a, Oh, like, come on the way.

[00:16:11] They teased us with giving us Metroid Prime remastered and then have left us hanging with two and three.

[00:16:16] It's like, come on.

[00:16:18] People want these games.

[00:16:19] Well, just give them to us.

[00:16:20] But I mean, like you got to ramp up, man.

[00:16:22] Like if you have all of it come out at what time?

[00:16:26] Like what's going to come through the pike like a year or two from now?

[00:16:31] Nothing.

[00:16:32] Like, Oh, we got all of it at what time?

[00:16:34] I don't need this anymore.

[00:16:36] Yeah.

[00:16:37] So, um, we'll see what happens.

[00:16:40] I think honestly, I, I, I think we're probably looking at like, everyone keeps kind of.

[00:16:47] Going well, where is it?

[00:16:48] Right.

[00:16:49] I, I still think we're probably.

[00:16:51] I think Jeff Keighley is going to pull something out of his ass.

[00:16:54] And we're going to get the reveal at game awards.

[00:16:58] Well, possible.

[00:17:00] And then March, you know, maybe April release, something like that.

[00:17:07] So.

[00:17:07] Oh, sorry.

[00:17:10] Have something at the start of the year or to be revealed for summer.

[00:17:15] Yeah.

[00:17:17] Um, so in all of this with the announcements of this, um, you know, Nintendo released a new app.

[00:17:28] Called Nintendo music.

[00:17:30] And this is actually part of the Nintendo switch online.

[00:17:35] Uh, program.

[00:17:36] Oh, so anybody who has switch online.

[00:17:40] Has free access to this app.

[00:17:43] Um, and it is a bunch of officially, uh, you're not officially, but the official soundtracks to a bunch of games.

[00:17:52] Um, so it's available on, I, you know, on Apple and Androids.

[00:17:58] Um, I have it loaded on my iPhone and I have it loaded on my iPad.

[00:18:03] Um, it's the interface is pretty straightforward.

[00:18:07] Once it's playing the track, it looks like any other music player on those devices.

[00:18:11] Um, you know, it's got a, you know, you can look for it by game.

[00:18:15] You can go by recommendations.

[00:18:16] You can, they have, um, set it up to where, um, you can do it by character.

[00:18:23] So like, there's a whole playlist of Zelda music.

[00:18:26] There's a whole thing of KK music.

[00:18:28] Um, but when you're looking at it, right, you've got, um, you know, it's scrolling through stuff.

[00:18:37] So as it's scrolling across our screen, for those that are watching at home, um, for those listeners that you're, um, gonna be just listening to the audio side of it, just go into the respective app stores for your device and just go download, um, Nintendo music.

[00:18:52] But to give you an idea, and I'm unfortunately, I'm looking at my actual cell phone right now to kind of do this as it's scrolling.

[00:19:00] But from the Nintendo switch, you've got super Mario wonder, Pikmin for Pokemon, Scarlet and violet, uh, Splatoon three animal crossing Kirby star, um, allies, Mario odyssey, Mario cart eight deluxe and the breath of the wild from the, we, you have Mario galaxy and we channels.

[00:19:21] So it's all the music from the fucking week, including like the startup sequence, uh, even the forecast and news channels.

[00:19:28] Um, it was kind of entertaining, kind of brought a little to me.

[00:19:31] I remember when I, you know, the console came out and trying to get ahold of one.

[00:19:34] Um, this was back when, um, I was still working at my blockbuster and there was a Walmart right across the street and they got one in.

[00:19:44] I like literally booked it over there, ran through the store and they're like, no running.

[00:19:48] I'm like, fuck you. Cause I'm getting myself a week. Um, you gotta catch me first, bitch. Right. Uh, from the DS, you've got, uh, Tamodachi collection, uh, Nintendogs from GameCube.

[00:20:00] They've done, uh, it's Metroid prime. Game boy advance is fire emblem, the blazing blade, Ocarina of time, uh, and star Fox 64 from the 64 SNES.

[00:20:10] Um, which has been updated as of today. Um, it was originally super Mario, uh, world to Yoshi's Island and Donkey Kong country.

[00:20:21] They have now added Donkey Kong country to, uh, was it Diddy Kong? Diddy Kong's quest. Um, so there's all from the super Nintendo game boy is Kirby's dreamland and Dr. Mario.

[00:20:33] And then rounding it off with the NES is Mario brothers, the original Metroid, as well as Metroid from the Famicom disc system, which that's not a game I even knew came out.

[00:20:44] So it was over in Japan. Um, so I think all in all, right. When you look at the value that every company subscriptions are bringing to the table.

[00:20:55] Um, I think this is a huge get for anybody. That's a huge fan of Nintendo.

[00:21:01] A huge fan of classic move too. Like some of this game music is just iconic. That's all it is.

[00:21:09] Yep. So, um, anyway, so it's got recommendations, hence, you know, it's high, you know, you can hide spoilers.

[00:21:16] And I think that's huge because if you, if you're working through say breath of the wild, right.

[00:21:19] And you haven't gotten a particular part of the game, you can hide that part.

[00:21:23] So you don't hear the music or anything like that.

[00:21:25] That's pretty cool. Um, yeah, that's, you know, thought out.

[00:21:28] Yeah. That is well thought out.

[00:21:30] So, and for those that happen to get trial that haven't may have a trial, they allow you to actually access the app and the music.

[00:21:37] When you have the trial as well.

[00:21:40] It's good.

[00:21:41] Um, the nice thing is, is that, um, with the app, you can actually download the music so you can use, you know, um, listen to the music offline.

[00:21:51] Okay.

[00:21:52] Okay.

[00:21:52] Through the app.

[00:21:53] So bravo Nintendo for adding something that is actually been really asked for because a lot of people have asked for the soundtracks to their games.

[00:22:01] Yeah.

[00:22:01] So this is huge.

[00:22:03] Um, not gonna lie.

[00:22:05] When I was handing out candy on Halloween, I was listening to Mario cart tracks.

[00:22:09] And as I was taking down my, uh, my decorations, I was listening to the animal crossing soundtrack.

[00:22:17] Which is kind of, kind of surreal.

[00:22:19] Cause I'm like, Oh, I'm taking down my decorations while listening to the exact music I would be listening to while taking down my decorations in the game.

[00:22:26] So, um, so yeah, so kudos to Nintendo.

[00:22:30] Um, it's well worth it.

[00:22:32] I see.

[00:22:33] I've used it every day so far, but as we were saying from before with PlayStation, you know, you have their like little symphony thing.

[00:22:40] Like here you can narrow it down to what you like versus.

[00:22:46] Correct.

[00:22:46] You know, for random music that doesn't clash together here, you can have a bunch of that.

[00:22:52] Like, Oh no, this is all of the Mario, all the Mario songs or all the Zelda songs.

[00:22:58] And then it makes sense to have that track lyrically or that playlist.

[00:23:03] Yep.

[00:23:05] So I did want to end.

[00:23:07] I did want to end tonight because we, you know, we haven't talked about card games and tabletops in a while.

[00:23:12] Um, all of us in some way are playing magic.

[00:23:17] So I'm playing in arena.

[00:23:20] I am actually looking at getting back into the physical game again to, to play with people.

[00:23:26] Um, you know, give me some human interaction.

[00:23:29] What?

[00:23:29] Yes.

[00:23:29] Human interaction.

[00:23:30] Um, get out and actually.

[00:23:32] You're a brave man, sir.

[00:23:32] You're a brave man.

[00:23:34] Anyway.

[00:23:34] So, um, foundations, um, was announced at magic con, uh, in Vegas.

[00:23:42] Um, and they're kind of bringing, um, some mechanics back.

[00:23:46] So they were kind of this article from over at magic.wizards.com, um, by Matt Tadak, uh, kind of goes over all the mechanics.

[00:23:53] So they are, you know, they're keeping flashback, uh, which has been a staple for a while, uh, threshold, which I play the crap out of that with one of my mill decks on historic on, um, arena.

[00:24:09] Um, threshold just based on if you've got seven cards, you know, in your graveyard, you get certain ability kicks.

[00:24:18] Um, one of mine, um, my threshold on some of my cards, if there's, um, one of each or four different types of cards.

[00:24:28] So it could be land planes, Walker creature, instant, whatever, right.

[00:24:31] As long as there's four different types of cards in my graveyard, um, the opponent mills on upkeep, which is great.

[00:24:39] Cause I have four of those manic scribes in my deck.

[00:24:42] Um, you've got prowess, which that's making up a lot of decks right now on, uh, magic arena, where basically your creature, whenever you cast a non-creature spell, it gets, it gets one, one cell into turn.

[00:24:55] Plus there's some other stuff it gets, um, depending on the card, um, raid, um, that one's basically a, you know, just gives you extra creatures and stuff like that, depending on what the raid ability actually is.

[00:25:12] Um, raid's something that requires you to attack, right?

[00:25:15] You have to attack and then it triggers, right?

[00:25:17] Oh, okay.

[00:25:18] Yep.

[00:25:19] Um, you know, our planeswalkers are still, still there.

[00:25:23] Um, still broken.

[00:25:25] Still broken.

[00:25:26] Um, I love the fact that they do have the rule out there.

[00:25:28] You can have multiple planeswalkers of the same type out at the same time.

[00:25:33] That's crazy though.

[00:25:34] That's, that's insane.

[00:25:35] But not the same name though, right?

[00:25:37] They're still legendary.

[00:25:38] They're still legend, but here's before, before they did that rule though, you could only have one Jace, right?

[00:25:44] Or one, um, you know, um, one Chandra.

[00:25:49] Oh, okay.

[00:25:50] Yeah.

[00:25:50] Cause they did the legendary rule just like a couple of years ago.

[00:25:53] Yes.

[00:25:53] So now you can have like all four variants of Chandra out.

[00:25:57] You can have multiple bonds.

[00:25:58] Which I find to be ridiculous.

[00:26:00] Which is broken in my oppression deck because I've got, you know, it's broken in general.

[00:26:06] Like it's a lot of fun.

[00:26:07] It's a lot of fun to try to make super friends, super friends decks.

[00:26:10] Yeah.

[00:26:11] For real.

[00:26:11] They're hard to make, but they're super fun.

[00:26:13] If you can get it going.

[00:26:14] Yeah.

[00:26:16] Um, so the big change on this is what I want to talk to you guys about.

[00:26:20] And it's a shame.

[00:26:21] Jerry's not here.

[00:26:21] Cause he's starting to get into the game is the way damage is going to be assessed.

[00:26:26] Combat, combat, combat damage is changing.

[00:26:30] Now.

[00:26:31] Combat is being changed.

[00:26:33] And this is going to be ridiculous.

[00:26:36] The strategies with this.

[00:26:38] Yeah.

[00:26:38] So beforehand, and this is going to play, Theo, this is going to play into oppression so much.

[00:26:44] And I'm loving it.

[00:26:45] I'm so here for this.

[00:26:47] Um, is that before when you were saying one creature was attacking and you were blocked,

[00:26:54] they blocked with two creatures, right?

[00:26:56] You had to assign lethal damage first to the first creature.

[00:26:59] And then everything went to the next creature.

[00:27:01] There was a lot of different rules, Matt, but yes.

[00:27:04] Yeah.

[00:27:04] That was a basic overview.

[00:27:06] That's kind of how it worked.

[00:27:07] The basic overview.

[00:27:07] Well, no, this is what happened before was that the basic overview was pending on if,

[00:27:14] and I thank God they don't bring back banding.

[00:27:17] Thank God.

[00:27:18] Banding me.

[00:27:18] It would have made it worse.

[00:27:19] But anyways.

[00:27:21] So here's actually an explanation right here, Jason.

[00:27:23] Okay.

[00:27:24] Yeah.

[00:27:24] So, um, it says previously, if an attacking creature was blocked by multiple creatures,

[00:27:28] the attacking player would put those blocking creatures in an order of their choice during

[00:27:32] the combat damage step.

[00:27:33] Attacking creatures can't assign combat damage or creature that's blocking it.

[00:27:36] Unless each creature ahead of it in line is assigned lethal damage.

[00:27:42] Um, the example was if I attack with a five, five and it's blocked by three, three and

[00:27:45] a four, four, he would put the, you know, he puts creatures one of the order.

[00:27:49] The example is say I put the three, three first, because that's what I want dead before the

[00:27:54] four, four.

[00:27:55] Um, and then if you're holding a giant growth after the order set, knowing the three, three

[00:27:59] is first in line, I could cast giant growth on the three, three.

[00:28:03] And then during combat damage, basically now it's not a three, three, it's a six, six.

[00:28:09] And I've already assigned my five points of damage to it.

[00:28:13] So it lives.

[00:28:16] And my creature.

[00:28:17] Uh, my five, five would die because it's.

[00:28:20] But I mean, that's the defending creatures would both live.

[00:28:24] Yep.

[00:28:25] Yes.

[00:28:25] Now it's going to be.

[00:28:28] The new rule is the damage assignment order no longer exists.

[00:28:32] So I can apply the damage however I want to.

[00:28:37] So for this is same example, five, five blocker, whatever.

[00:28:42] Um, you know, it's now the declared blocker step after blockers declared last opportunity

[00:28:47] to do anything before comments about damage is dealt past priority.

[00:28:50] You have giant growth in hand.

[00:28:51] You can still save the creature of your choice.

[00:28:53] We'll say you want the save the three, three same reason.

[00:28:57] So it's a six, six.

[00:28:58] We moved to combat damage.

[00:28:59] Now I can assign the five, five.

[00:29:02] However I want to.

[00:29:03] Yeah.

[00:29:04] Um, I can go now after the four, four instead of now, what is a six, six, or I can do three

[00:29:11] damage to one creature and two to the other.

[00:29:14] Yeah.

[00:29:15] So previously, how does this work with phases though?

[00:29:20] Cause I'm pretty sure the player, the defensive player should have the opportunity to pick the

[00:29:26] choose octave growth, um, after the offensive player declares damages.

[00:29:32] So, so no, that's the change.

[00:29:34] That's one of the changes.

[00:29:35] The second change was that before it was the defender that had priority to, uh, put which

[00:29:43] one would be in front and stuff.

[00:29:45] Now, defensive could never put what's in front.

[00:29:47] Defensive could never decide the order.

[00:29:49] Um, but the way it was is it used to be, it used to be, I declare attack.

[00:29:56] Okay.

[00:29:57] Yes.

[00:29:58] Then you declare blocks.

[00:30:00] You declare blocks.

[00:30:01] You tell me, so say you're, you're going to block with two creatures.

[00:30:04] Okay.

[00:30:04] Yep.

[00:30:05] And then you assign the order.

[00:30:07] Then, then I assign order.

[00:30:09] And then I can respond.

[00:30:11] Then you can respond to that by doing a, a giant growth or whatever to pump that creature that

[00:30:17] is up in front.

[00:30:19] After I've declared, Hey, I'm going after this three, three, this little four, four over

[00:30:24] here.

[00:30:25] I'm, I'm ignoring it because I want to lethal damage this three, three.

[00:30:29] Now, like before you, once I say, okay, this is how it's going to be.

[00:30:33] You could play giant growth.

[00:30:36] Then I could have a response like a counter or, or whatever.

[00:30:39] Right.

[00:30:40] And then that's it.

[00:30:41] Then damage is applied.

[00:30:43] Whatever.

[00:30:43] Now what it's going to be is.

[00:30:48] It's just the creatures are there.

[00:30:50] There's a hard stop.

[00:30:51] Here's your creatures.

[00:30:52] Boom.

[00:30:53] Okay.

[00:30:54] So now I can say, you know, these are, here's your creatures.

[00:31:00] We get our opportunity to play whatever spell we want to, in terms of a priority perspective.

[00:31:05] I could pass priority.

[00:31:06] You could go giant growth.

[00:31:07] I'm going to turn my three, three into a six, six.

[00:31:09] Cool.

[00:31:10] After that is done.

[00:31:11] Hard stop.

[00:31:12] Boom.

[00:31:13] Done.

[00:31:13] If you think as a mobility, it's split second right now.

[00:31:17] It's split second.

[00:31:18] So once, once damage is applied, nothing can save it.

[00:31:25] It is split second.

[00:31:26] Damage has been dealt.

[00:31:29] So that's it.

[00:31:30] All day, all damage is supposed to happen at the same time.

[00:31:33] Yeah.

[00:31:34] All damage is supposed to resolve at the same time.

[00:31:36] Yeah, correct.

[00:31:37] But in the old way, it was first creature in line got the first batch of damage.

[00:31:41] If it was lethal, the remaining damage went to the second creature in line.

[00:31:45] If that was lethal, whatever damage was remaining went to the third creature, right?

[00:31:49] If you blocked with whatever.

[00:31:51] Now what it's going to be is once we get to that hard stop and it's going to be damage

[00:31:54] resolving, I can now take my five, five and go, I want three points of damage here.

[00:31:59] I want two points of damage here.

[00:32:01] Okay.

[00:32:02] Now my creature still is going to die because you have, you know, now 10 points of damage

[00:32:08] to my five.

[00:32:09] Right.

[00:32:09] But this is where like my deck with oppression comes into play is now I can turn around and

[00:32:16] go cast direct damage spells and trigger all my other shit and blow up everything because

[00:32:23] there was enough damage to bring it down because before, right, is if you had, say, I'm still,

[00:32:31] I'm still a little lost on how, because like you, you can declare blockers.

[00:32:38] You can declare your damage, but you can't respond to declare damage.

[00:32:46] No, not anymore.

[00:32:47] No, that's coming after the declared damage.

[00:32:49] The damage now is applied after.

[00:32:52] Yeah.

[00:32:52] It's not applied before.

[00:32:54] Yeah.

[00:32:54] That's the big change.

[00:32:56] So I can't be all like you say, so for the three, three and the four forward, you say,

[00:33:00] oh, I'm going to do lethal to the four, four.

[00:33:02] I can't.

[00:33:03] And, and I chose not to, or I chose to try to wait to use growth until after you declare

[00:33:11] that you're going to kill my four, four.

[00:33:12] I can't do that.

[00:33:14] Correct.

[00:33:15] Yep.

[00:33:15] What the fuck?

[00:33:16] It has to be done beforehand.

[00:33:17] Now that's, that's why it kind of brings a little bit more power to the attacker.

[00:33:23] You already had a lot of power.

[00:33:25] No.

[00:33:26] Well, before the defense, defense, defense, defense always had more power because you,

[00:33:30] like, even when people were putting damage on the stack and then sacrificing the creature,

[00:33:36] you know, the damage had already been done.

[00:33:39] There's nothing you can do to save that creature.

[00:33:42] So it's like, okay, like, let me just sacrifice it anyways and then get something out of it

[00:33:46] and have the second blockers stay alive still while the trample doesn't go through.

[00:33:51] Trample is a little bit different.

[00:33:53] I know they're, they're talking about it and that's going to be interesting as well.

[00:33:59] Um, but yeah, it's now it's going to be a lot more like trample.

[00:34:04] Cause I would think cause trample usually used to go through the order, but if all damage

[00:34:09] resolves at the same time, I would think that anything that's left over goes to the

[00:34:13] place.

[00:34:13] Yeah.

[00:34:14] So now like, even if you, if you, if you have an even seven, like an even five versus even

[00:34:20] like with an even five, no trample.

[00:34:24] Right.

[00:34:25] But if you have an even five and a four, you would get one trample damage, but then like

[00:34:32] people are like, Oh, I giant growth this to like buff it up.

[00:34:36] So no trample damage, but now that makes it, that makes it so hard.

[00:34:41] It's a little bit more complicated.

[00:34:43] And I'm like, like, like, like, let's say the scenario you have six life left.

[00:34:48] They have, they have a seven, seven.

[00:34:51] And all you got is like a one, one in an eight, eight, you're going to block it.

[00:34:54] Or let's say one, one in a six, six, you're going to block with the one, one in and the

[00:34:58] six, six, but they can choose the, but all seven on the one, one.

[00:35:02] So I guess the six through and destroy you.

[00:35:06] The biggest thing that I want to, a lot of weirdness.

[00:35:09] Yeah.

[00:35:09] The one thing that they're adding in this article is basically is now there's just

[00:35:13] not a get out of combat free card anymore.

[00:35:17] In what sense?

[00:35:18] I don't understand that because the combat damage is happening after all the, the

[00:35:22] tricks you could do.

[00:35:24] It's not happening.

[00:35:25] The damage isn't happening before the tricks.

[00:35:27] Yeah.

[00:35:28] Right.

[00:35:28] Because as it sits right now, right.

[00:35:30] Is I could be attacking, you give, you can't do that.

[00:35:32] I put two creatures in front of me.

[00:35:34] I reorder them in whatever order I want.

[00:35:37] Yeah.

[00:35:37] Then that gives you opportunity to, to respond by pumping up the creature I want to kill

[00:35:43] first.

[00:35:44] Right.

[00:35:44] So therefore it puts your attackers at a disadvantage right now.

[00:35:49] Now it's just going to give more power back to the attacker by going, well, you

[00:35:53] pumped your creature.

[00:35:55] I'm still going to die, but I'm going to do some damage on the way out the door.

[00:35:59] Yeah.

[00:36:00] Don't doesn't the attacker still have the ability to respond to declared blockers?

[00:36:06] No.

[00:36:08] Why?

[00:36:09] So I can, it's not assigning damage.

[00:36:11] You could still pump.

[00:36:12] I can still pump my creature.

[00:36:13] You can still pump yours.

[00:36:15] I could pump my five, five to a 10, 10 to, in response to your three, four that you put

[00:36:20] out.

[00:36:21] Correct.

[00:36:21] It's, it's, it's cause it's, it's something with the phases of combat.

[00:36:24] But yeah, so you'll still be able to play a, a spell on priority after declared blockers,

[00:36:30] right?

[00:36:30] You could do a spell.

[00:36:31] Then the defense has a, a chance to respond to you playing that spell to bump up their

[00:36:38] creature.

[00:36:39] Right.

[00:36:41] And then after that, that's where damage is assigned.

[00:36:44] It's like, okay, now all these creatures have been pumped up.

[00:36:47] I can pretty much, okay, this one, this one's going to die first instead of this other one.

[00:36:53] Whereas before current model, before this, the new damage revision goes into place is that

[00:37:00] we assign our attacker and blocker.

[00:37:03] We move to the next phase after that going, I'm already going to be blocking your three,

[00:37:07] three.

[00:37:08] Like I've already committed in the current damage mechanics to killing, to attacking your

[00:37:12] three, three first.

[00:37:14] Now that's where we have you playing your, your tricks, like pumping up creatures and

[00:37:18] stuff to try and save it.

[00:37:19] Right.

[00:37:20] And then, okay, now I'm going to lose.

[00:37:22] So basically in that scenario, it's like, okay, I can tips and tricks this all, all the

[00:37:27] way through.

[00:37:27] And I can, what I can board wipe you essentially.

[00:37:30] Right.

[00:37:31] Under the current model, the new model is going to be where, okay, blockers declared, we

[00:37:37] play all of our tricks.

[00:37:38] And then as the attacker, I get to decide where I'm doing lethal damage.

[00:37:42] If I want to do lethal, if you want to do, or I can split the damage.

[00:37:47] Let's switch the perspective.

[00:37:49] Let's go from the defender's perspective.

[00:37:51] Okay.

[00:37:51] So since all damage is applied at the same time, because you put out a five, five and

[00:37:58] I put it out the three, three and the four, four, it's immediately going to die.

[00:38:05] Your current model.

[00:38:06] Current model.

[00:38:07] Well, either way.

[00:38:08] Current model and new model.

[00:38:09] Yes.

[00:38:10] But new model, I wouldn't even need to pump my three, three only if I wanted to somehow

[00:38:16] survive.

[00:38:17] Correct.

[00:38:18] Okay.

[00:38:21] It's kind of strange.

[00:38:22] Yeah.

[00:38:22] I don't know how I feel about this.

[00:38:23] I'm still confused, but I have to get my hands dirty.

[00:38:26] I think it's a good thing because I've, with as much as I've been playing some online

[00:38:31] stuff, there's a lot of decks out there that are pulling a lot of tricks out of their

[00:38:34] ass.

[00:38:34] I feel like knowing magic, they've, they've probably been thinking about this for years

[00:38:38] and they said, they said this goes back to 2010.

[00:38:42] Yeah.

[00:38:43] This current damage model has been in play and they said it's, it's outdated with all

[00:38:49] the, with the deck designs nowadays.

[00:38:51] Like the current one and the new one, the, the current deck models that are out there

[00:38:56] right now.

[00:38:57] The current deck models is since 2010.

[00:38:59] Yeah.

[00:39:00] Yeah.

[00:39:00] And it's OP right now with the card sets that are out currently right now in current

[00:39:04] standard rotation.

[00:39:06] Well, I mean like for a long time, for a long time.

[00:39:10] And it's been this way now.

[00:39:11] Like once, once people started having more, um, last second abilities, obviously a lot

[00:39:18] less, a lot more instance coming out.

[00:39:20] I mean, we got rid of interrupts.

[00:39:23] Uh, so it's, it's just instant speeds are getting faster and faster.

[00:39:28] Like it's becoming a, uh, a, uh, a game of chicken almost versus like a game of magic.

[00:39:35] Like, like do you have many times?

[00:39:39] I mean, I sit there and I'll attack and I'm like, okay, I've got my, a two, one first strike,

[00:39:45] my enchantment deck, right?

[00:39:46] My, my striker, my first striker, two, one, you are going to block with, um, uh, a three,

[00:39:57] two.

[00:39:57] Right.

[00:39:58] In that case, you know, in the current case now is like, okay, I'm going to play this and

[00:40:04] assign damage or no, sorry.

[00:40:06] You, you block with say a two, two and a, or two, two, two's right.

[00:40:11] So there's four, four.

[00:40:12] I pump mine currently under the current model.

[00:40:16] We, I say, okay, I'm going to go after this specific two, two first.

[00:40:20] And then you pump it.

[00:40:21] My first strike all of a sudden is, is null and void, which first, first strike should have

[00:40:27] priority.

[00:40:28] Right.

[00:40:28] But now because you pumped up that creature that I decided I'm going to do lethal to

[00:40:33] first, all of a sudden now it's done.

[00:40:37] It's the same thing.

[00:40:37] Say it was one of my death touches.

[00:40:38] But we just, but we just finished saying that you can't pump them after you've decided

[00:40:42] to do lethal.

[00:40:45] So current, no, in the current model, the current model, right.

[00:40:48] Yeah.

[00:40:49] You can't, but in the new one, you can't.

[00:40:51] The new one you won't be able to.

[00:40:52] So like, if I'm going with my three, four elf, right.

[00:40:54] That has death touch.

[00:40:56] And you, you throw two, two, two's in front of me.

[00:41:00] Right.

[00:41:01] Right.

[00:41:01] And then all of a sudden you pump it, you pump one of your creatures into being now

[00:41:07] a five, five.

[00:41:11] Now it's going, okay.

[00:41:13] I don't do lethal to both of them anymore.

[00:41:16] There's only one there.

[00:41:17] So the current, the new model is going to be where I can go.

[00:41:19] Okay.

[00:41:20] I want two points of damage here and I want three points of damage here and I'm going

[00:41:24] to take them both out because death touch.

[00:41:26] Yeah.

[00:41:27] I was going to say, you only have to do one.

[00:41:28] Yeah.

[00:41:29] So it's going to give, it's going to, it's basically going to allow the creature cards,

[00:41:33] I think that have certain abilities like death touch first strike to have a fighting chance

[00:41:40] of potentially surviving or doing the damage it's originally intended to do.

[00:41:46] Beyond a lot of these, the tricks that are out there right now.

[00:41:49] Now we'll see how it plays out once we actually get foundations and we are able to actually

[00:41:55] do it real time.

[00:41:57] But I think, I think it's, I mean, magic's been due for some updates.

[00:42:01] Let's be honest.

[00:42:02] Well, one, magic's been due for updates and two, they need to stop, stop having all

[00:42:10] these essay long cards with complication of rules.

[00:42:15] Like there's, they need to bring it, they need to tone it down a little bit.

[00:42:19] You know, like bring, like honestly reset the reset magic a little bit, you know, have

[00:42:25] it go back to the, Hey, this card does one ability.

[00:42:29] It doesn't do like 17 abilities.

[00:42:32] Like.

[00:42:32] Okay.

[00:42:33] So I'm going to, that, that raises an interesting question for both of you out of

[00:42:39] current mechanics, which one, or at least ones that have been introduced or reintroduced

[00:42:45] in like the past, let's say five years.

[00:42:48] Oh, I still don't want to know.

[00:42:49] I haven't.

[00:42:50] What do you, what do you think is, what is the worst one that you, you would want to

[00:42:53] get rid of?

[00:42:54] I couldn't tell you.

[00:42:55] I haven't been playing five plus.

[00:42:57] Like there are so many new ones that I have no idea.

[00:43:01] Let me just take a look.

[00:43:02] Let me just take a look at some new.

[00:43:03] I freaking hate ward so much.

[00:43:06] And you're like, I have no idea what the hell.

[00:43:08] I don't mind ward.

[00:43:09] I can, I've got stuff that gets around it.

[00:43:11] Like ward is the creature.

[00:43:14] You have to, you have to pay the cost of ward in order to target the creature.

[00:43:18] You have to pay the cost in order to target the creature.

[00:43:21] Yeah.

[00:43:22] So like a, it's like a, it can be anything.

[00:43:25] It can be mana.

[00:43:25] It can be, you have to tap a creature life.

[00:43:28] You have to pay life or whatever, but that's in, that's in order to take action on that

[00:43:34] creature though.

[00:43:34] So I, I think for me, I think ward part of ward should go because there's one car that

[00:43:42] it's ward is I have to sacrifice three permanents just to target it.

[00:43:49] Like that needs to go.

[00:43:50] Yes.

[00:43:52] So dude, this, dude, this card, these, this card are, and some of the ones are bringing

[00:43:56] it back as part of foundations is.

[00:43:59] I've been seeing some of the full art variants, which look fricking awesome.

[00:44:03] Yeah.

[00:44:05] I think this time around though, if I get back into it though, I'm going to just get the

[00:44:09] card specifically that I want to build decks with.

[00:44:11] I agree.

[00:44:12] I would do the same if I went to physical, play it on arena and then build a deck in your

[00:44:16] life.

[00:44:17] Theo, look at this.

[00:44:19] Nyxthos Paragon.

[00:44:20] It's Heliod on crack.

[00:44:22] Oh Jesus.

[00:44:23] Whenever you gain life, I've put that many counters on each creature you control, but

[00:44:28] you can only do it once each turn.

[00:44:30] Yeah.

[00:44:31] But like, I think each creature you control each creature gets, if I gain three life,

[00:44:35] each creature gets.

[00:44:36] That is a combination of three cards and one right there.

[00:44:39] That's why I cost six.

[00:44:41] That's why I cost six.

[00:44:42] And I will ramp into that.

[00:44:43] There's ramp cards for that.

[00:44:46] As long as you play green, white.

[00:44:49] Yeah.

[00:44:49] There's a, if, if it allows me to, there's a new creature that allows all my creatures

[00:44:55] to tap for mana.

[00:44:57] And then if it's destroyed, it comes back as an enchantment.

[00:45:03] Um, and then there's another green that I'd tap it for X color mana.

[00:45:08] Um, but yeah, it's, it'll be interesting.

[00:45:13] It's also a green entachment that lets you tap mana for double.

[00:45:17] Yeah.

[00:45:18] Mm-hmm.

[00:45:19] Yeah.

[00:45:19] But those are singular against the land.

[00:45:21] Um, there's a creature that allows it to, to tap for an insane amount though.

[00:45:27] So, um, some of these new like abilities are interesting.

[00:45:34] Bro, you need to play some arena, man.

[00:45:36] Nah, dude.

[00:45:37] Yeah.

[00:45:37] No.

[00:45:37] Get up to speed, sir.

[00:45:39] Get back in there, bro.

[00:45:41] Bro, it's free and you can get packs for free.

[00:45:45] Like all you got to do is play, man.

[00:45:47] It's literally play to win and not pay to win.

[00:45:51] Yeah.

[00:45:52] Here's, here's where I'll be living in the green.

[00:45:55] Dude, Rishkar coming back.

[00:45:57] It's fucking, he's broken.

[00:46:00] Um, cause he allows any, you know, the predator strike, primeval bounty.

[00:46:06] I've used the crap out of that thing.

[00:46:08] I'm green, white for life, sir.

[00:46:10] Green, white for life.

[00:46:12] Yep.

[00:46:13] Green, white, one, one counters.

[00:46:15] That's me.

[00:46:16] Yeah.

[00:46:17] Llanowar visionaries, Llanowar elves.

[00:46:19] You know.

[00:46:20] What the heck?

[00:46:21] Why is, there's embalm and eternalize.

[00:46:24] It's the same thing.

[00:46:25] What the heck?

[00:46:26] Yeah.

[00:46:26] Embalm?

[00:46:27] Yeah.

[00:46:29] Um.

[00:46:30] I feel like there's white and black.

[00:46:31] Okay.

[00:46:32] That makes sense.

[00:46:32] Yeah.

[00:46:33] I'll be building.

[00:46:34] If I get back on this, you know, I'm building an elf deck.

[00:46:38] Of course you are.

[00:46:39] Yeah.

[00:46:40] Especially with, you know, Elvis arch druid, you know, combine that with Dwayne's elite.

[00:46:45] And yeah.

[00:46:47] But which format do you, and which format do you start building with?

[00:46:51] Historic or do you actually go a little bit more?

[00:46:53] I go, I go.

[00:46:54] Said this is all standard.

[00:46:55] This is all foundation.

[00:46:56] So this is going to be standard.

[00:46:58] Only for so long.

[00:46:59] Yeah.

[00:47:01] But, uh.

[00:47:02] No, I'll go.

[00:47:05] I'll go green.

[00:47:07] Elves in the beginning.

[00:47:08] And it'll be current.

[00:47:10] So.

[00:47:12] I think I'd go a step back and do alchemy.

[00:47:14] Jumpstart?

[00:47:15] Ew.

[00:47:15] It depends on, like, how many, like, places you're going to be able to play alchemy or historic with.

[00:47:20] Right?

[00:47:20] A lot of it's standard Friday night magic and stuff.

[00:47:23] So.

[00:47:24] Um.

[00:47:26] It'll be interesting to see what other enchantments are out there.

[00:47:30] Um.

[00:47:35] It's.

[00:47:37] But yeah.

[00:47:38] It's looking.

[00:47:39] It's looking.

[00:47:40] At least it's no hydras at the moment.

[00:47:42] That are in the set.

[00:47:44] Ooh.

[00:47:46] I like hydras.

[00:47:47] Dude.

[00:47:47] Ooh.

[00:47:47] Undergrowth champions coming back.

[00:47:49] Tyvar.

[00:47:50] Tyvar's broken.

[00:47:51] Undergrowth champion, man.

[00:47:52] That's my.

[00:47:53] Yeah.

[00:47:53] That's my jam.

[00:47:54] Yep.

[00:47:56] So.

[00:47:58] Yeah.

[00:47:59] It'll be.

[00:48:00] Come on, Jason.

[00:48:02] Come play with us.

[00:48:03] Come play with us on Arena.

[00:48:04] Come on.

[00:48:05] No, bro.

[00:48:05] No.

[00:48:05] Don't PC.

[00:48:07] Don't PC and mobile.

[00:48:08] You can do it.

[00:48:09] Oh, no, no, no, no, no.

[00:48:10] I don't.

[00:48:12] Even.

[00:48:13] Even Jerry plays from time to time.

[00:48:14] Come on, man.

[00:48:15] Come on.

[00:48:16] I do not spend any money on it.

[00:48:20] So.

[00:48:21] I will admit that I've spent money on it.

[00:48:23] I've spent money on the.

[00:48:24] The season pass.

[00:48:25] I did in the beginning, but I make so much in the.

[00:48:28] In the points to go get cards that it's just like.

[00:48:32] Okay.

[00:48:32] I don't play often enough.

[00:48:33] Oh, yeah.

[00:48:34] I do.

[00:48:35] I go.

[00:48:35] I don't.

[00:48:35] I don't do dailies.

[00:48:37] I just go back in and I go do dailies about every day.

[00:48:40] So.

[00:48:40] Some of these new like.

[00:48:43] Cards.

[00:48:46] That's just ridiculous, man.

[00:48:49] It's ridiculous.

[00:48:52] So.

[00:48:52] I can't.

[00:48:53] I can't, man.

[00:48:54] I can't.

[00:48:56] Yes, you can.

[00:48:57] You totally can.

[00:48:57] I can't.

[00:48:58] I can't, dude.

[00:48:59] You can't.

[00:48:59] I wanted to.

[00:49:00] Okay.

[00:49:00] So for me, I'm already thinking about possibilities of like, what, what are the final fantasy

[00:49:07] decks going to look like?

[00:49:08] Oh, man.

[00:49:09] When they bring a final fantasy out.

[00:49:11] So.

[00:49:11] And I think.

[00:49:12] I think it's entertaining.

[00:49:13] Jason, you come off to me as like a goblin player and you can do some crazy stuff with

[00:49:18] goblins right now.

[00:49:19] Oh, dude.

[00:49:19] Yeah.

[00:49:20] I'm all about red deck wins, man.

[00:49:22] I'm all about red deck wins.

[00:49:23] It's always been I've always done try to do an out of the box thinking, you know, but

[00:49:35] I like to have fun with it rather than like, oh, dude, you have to stupid dad.

[00:49:41] I'm like, yeah, well, I know.

[00:49:42] No, no.

[00:49:43] Duh.

[00:49:43] I mean, like, honestly, Theo's seen some of my broken fucking decks.

[00:49:48] Like, I mean, like I had for Matt likes the stupidity stuff.

[00:49:53] Things that I do.

[00:49:54] No, no, no.

[00:49:55] I build.

[00:49:55] I've done.

[00:49:56] I've done some pretty stupid stuff.

[00:49:57] Jank stuff.

[00:49:58] And you guys are like, how the hell is this working?

[00:50:01] And it's like it is like oppression, right?

[00:50:04] On face value.

[00:50:05] That shouldn't work the way it does.

[00:50:07] No, but I mean, like, for example, I have a red black defense deck.

[00:50:10] I don't attack at all with red black.

[00:50:13] It's impressive.

[00:50:14] I have a blue.

[00:50:15] I have a blue black mill that I don't.

[00:50:18] Oh, black mill.

[00:50:19] Wow.

[00:50:19] That's that's.

[00:50:20] No, like the in in my.

[00:50:23] The red.

[00:50:24] It's an old deck and it doesn't it doesn't even work anymore because of how stupid fast

[00:50:29] cards are now.

[00:50:31] But yeah, it I don't attack with red black.

[00:50:35] I don't fire any face.

[00:50:39] No, no red spells to the face unless it's for for the W.

[00:50:44] All my burn spells are just a control board.

[00:50:47] That's it.

[00:50:48] That's what I did.

[00:50:49] That's what oppression is like.

[00:50:50] Like I'll attack with my like sometimes with my one attack.

[00:50:53] I don't attack my burn.

[00:50:55] Like for me, though, a lot of it is I've got the planes walkers where you when you cast

[00:50:59] a spell, it does damage.

[00:51:00] Like I've got a one three creature.

[00:51:02] That's a two drop that whenever I cast a a non creature spell, it does one point of damage

[00:51:07] to opponent.

[00:51:08] Just.

[00:51:09] Yeah.

[00:51:10] You know, the red black deck never attacks unless it's like a free attack, you know,

[00:51:14] an open board.

[00:51:16] Sure.

[00:51:17] But yeah, black deck never attacks and never use any burn spells for.

[00:51:23] Yeah.

[00:51:23] No burn spells for the face unless it's to the face unless it.

[00:51:26] Yeah.

[00:51:27] It's kind of how mine is.

[00:51:28] So.

[00:51:29] But yeah, I think here's my parting thought on this.

[00:51:33] I love my green white proliferate all day.

[00:51:36] All day.

[00:51:36] Yeah.

[00:51:37] Except for.

[00:51:38] Except for I drop that.

[00:51:39] Not even tokens.

[00:51:40] It's just one counters, man.

[00:51:41] All day.

[00:51:42] Yeah.

[00:51:43] But then I get that.

[00:51:44] I get that planeswalker out at a few attack me.

[00:51:46] All your creatures get minus one, minus one tokens or a counter.

[00:51:50] So.

[00:51:52] I don't have enough to do with it.

[00:51:54] Yeah.

[00:51:54] Anyways, I think what's really interesting, though, about them bringing up Final Fantasy

[00:51:59] and Magic is that I think this goes to show you that even though they attempted Final

[00:52:05] Fantasy TCG, it just I don't think it was doing as well as it could have been because

[00:52:10] there wasn't a lot of card shop support out there for it.

[00:52:13] So I think this is the next best thing.

[00:52:15] You get Final Fantasy out in front of.

[00:52:17] A way bigger card playing population and Magic.

[00:52:21] So.

[00:52:22] So.

[00:52:25] Anyways, so real quick, Jay, are you playing anything?

[00:52:31] No, I have not watched anything.

[00:52:34] I've not played anything.

[00:52:34] I've been working and sleeping.

[00:52:41] All righty.

[00:52:42] Yeah.

[00:52:42] See you.

[00:52:44] While we were talking Magic, I went and loaded up Arena.

[00:52:48] I mean, I am going to.

[00:52:50] I'm not going to lie.

[00:52:51] I want to proliferate deck back, but it apparently is not legal in historic nor timeless.

[00:52:57] So that's because one of your cards got banned, probably.

[00:53:01] No, I mean, like there's literally one legal card with proliferate.

[00:53:06] Like I will.

[00:53:08] No, no, never mind.

[00:53:08] The filter is all screwed up.

[00:53:10] Yeah, I will.

[00:53:11] I will.

[00:53:12] I will say, though, I probably will pick up packs when the Final Fantasy drops.

[00:53:18] No packs.

[00:53:18] Like I'm going to get the physicals just because it's going to be interesting.

[00:53:23] Singles.

[00:53:25] No packs.

[00:53:26] Just singles.

[00:53:27] No, no.

[00:53:27] Just singles.

[00:53:28] No packs.

[00:53:29] I'll build FF7 decks.

[00:53:31] FFA.

[00:53:31] I just want to see.

[00:53:32] I just want to see like.

[00:53:33] I just want to see.

[00:53:33] The card art is going to be gorgeous, man.

[00:53:35] I just want to see them as planeswalkers.

[00:53:37] It's going to be awesome.

[00:53:38] It's going to be cool.

[00:53:39] Dude, that's it.

[00:53:40] Shiva is a planeswalker?

[00:53:41] Yeah, dude.

[00:53:42] Like having them as planeswalkers, that'd be sick.

[00:53:44] I think like.

[00:53:47] So Theo, you even play anything?

[00:53:50] A little bit of Destiny.

[00:53:52] I played a good amount for Festival of the Lost, their Halloween event.

[00:53:58] A little bit of Cod here there.

[00:54:00] But other than that, that's about it.

[00:54:02] I did break out Echoes over the weekend.

[00:54:05] I still haven't made it too far.

[00:54:07] I'm still.

[00:54:07] I just visited the river and the sea Zora.

[00:54:11] Yep.

[00:54:12] Those villages.

[00:54:13] But yeah, that's about it.

[00:54:17] Let's see.

[00:54:17] I've got Echoes.

[00:54:20] Just been doing a bunch of exploring.

[00:54:23] Before I go up and deal with the three new rifts after you go to the castle rift.

[00:54:31] So I'm on the back half of the game.

[00:54:35] There is Animal Crossing.

[00:54:44] You know, there's Animal Crossing.

[00:54:45] So I took down part of my Halloween decorations.

[00:54:48] Some of them are still up.

[00:54:50] But that's because I brought out all of my Christmas decorations.

[00:54:55] That I have.

[00:54:56] And placed.

[00:54:57] I already have one neighborhood already done.

[00:54:59] With Christmas decorations.

[00:55:01] So I now know what I need to play.

[00:55:03] Or what I need to build.

[00:55:04] Like for replacements for all the Halloween decorations.

[00:55:08] Because my remodel.

[00:55:10] Oh my god.

[00:55:10] I got to build so much more shit.

[00:55:12] For decorations.

[00:55:14] So I'll have to get to that.

[00:55:17] But then Horizon Remastered came out.

[00:55:20] And I started a brand new file on that.

[00:55:22] So I could get all the new trophies.

[00:55:24] Like none of the trophies pop.

[00:55:27] If you had the original Horizon on PS4.

[00:55:31] So you kind of pretty much have to have a brand new trophy list.

[00:55:34] It's the same stuff.

[00:55:35] So you got to start a new game.

[00:55:37] Versus new game plus.

[00:55:40] So.

[00:55:41] It is absolutely gorgeous.

[00:55:44] It is right there with Forbidden West.

[00:55:47] In terms of graphics and everything.

[00:55:50] Aloy when she turns in the light.

[00:55:51] You can see the individual hairs on her face.

[00:55:54] Like it's that detailed.

[00:55:56] Just like Forbidden West.

[00:55:57] So.

[00:56:01] And then Jason.

[00:56:03] You'll be.

[00:56:03] You'll be pleased.

[00:56:04] In this.

[00:56:05] That I actually recommended.

[00:56:07] Recommended an anime to somebody.

[00:56:08] They were looking for some recommendations.

[00:56:11] And because you guys have kind of.

[00:56:13] Brought me into the light.

[00:56:15] So to speak.

[00:56:15] Just a little bit.

[00:56:16] I did recommend Solo Leveling.

[00:56:18] Nice.

[00:56:20] Jason.

[00:56:21] You haven't watched Solo Leveling yet.

[00:56:22] Have you?

[00:56:23] No.

[00:56:23] I haven't yet.

[00:56:24] Dude.

[00:56:25] So good.

[00:56:26] Go watch it.

[00:56:27] Anyways.

[00:56:28] So anyways.

[00:56:29] With that.

[00:56:31] I just want to say.

[00:56:32] You know.

[00:56:33] Dan to Dan.

[00:56:34] I watched Dan to Dan too.

[00:56:36] Okay.

[00:56:36] Yeah.

[00:56:36] I heard about that one too.

[00:56:37] And I think my wife started watching that one.

[00:56:39] Hilarious.

[00:56:41] But for everyone that did kind of.

[00:56:43] Crash and lurk over the night.

[00:56:45] We're just going to watch the VOD on this later.

[00:56:48] Thank you for crashing game night tonight.

[00:56:50] I know tonight's a really big night here in the US.

[00:56:52] So a lot of people couldn't watch it.

[00:56:53] Listen.

[00:56:54] As we did this live.

[00:56:55] So catch the videos on demand.

[00:56:57] Both on our YouTube channel.

[00:56:58] Here on Twitch.

[00:56:59] And crashing game night dot com.

[00:57:01] But please.

[00:57:03] Just.

[00:57:04] Everybody.

[00:57:05] As.

[00:57:05] Especially in the States.

[00:57:06] As votes are being counted.

[00:57:08] And.

[00:57:09] And everything.

[00:57:11] Let's all take a step back.

[00:57:12] And breathe.

[00:57:14] And.

[00:57:16] Really just remember.

[00:57:18] To just be excellent.

[00:57:20] To each other.

[00:57:25] Jason.

[00:57:27] Yeah.

[00:57:27] That's right.

[00:57:28] You know.

[00:57:29] Jerry's not here.

[00:57:30] So we need a little pause.

[00:57:31] So then that way.

[00:57:32] We have a moment of silence for Jerry over there.

[00:57:35] You know.

[00:57:36] Like.

[00:57:36] He always likes to take my stuff.

[00:57:39] And.

[00:57:39] It's okay.

[00:57:40] But.

[00:57:41] You know.

[00:57:42] Hopefully everybody went out there.

[00:57:43] Voted.

[00:57:44] Cool.

[00:57:45] Um.

[00:57:46] By the time you listen to this.

[00:57:48] We'll have a new president.

[00:57:49] Or we'll have a new president to be.

[00:57:52] To be.

[00:57:54] President.

[00:57:55] Um.

[00:57:56] Yeah.

[00:57:57] And.

[00:57:59] You know.

[00:57:59] It's.

[00:58:00] It is what it is man.

[00:58:02] Like.

[00:58:02] I know.

[00:58:03] People are going to be upset.

[00:58:04] Some people are going to be happy.

[00:58:06] So.

[00:58:07] You know.

[00:58:08] Like.

[00:58:08] It's all good.

[00:58:09] It's all good.

[00:58:10] Anyways.

[00:58:10] Just be safe out there.

[00:58:12] It is getting colder now.

[00:58:13] Hopefully.

[00:58:14] Uh.

[00:58:15] You're bundled up.

[00:58:16] Like I am.

[00:58:17] In my 60 degree house.

[00:58:19] Where it's.

[00:58:20] Cold as hell.

[00:58:22] You know.

[00:58:22] And I have Theo and Matt.

[00:58:23] Just shaking their heads.

[00:58:25] It's okay.

[00:58:28] But yeah.

[00:58:28] Just be safe out there.

[00:58:30] Uh.

[00:58:30] Holiday season is just around the corner.

[00:58:32] Take care of each other.

[00:58:33] And just relax man.

[00:58:35] You know.

[00:58:36] Anyways.

[00:58:37] Like we like.

[00:58:37] Dude.

[00:58:37] Because it's my turn now.

[00:58:39] My man.

[00:58:40] Theo Walski.

[00:58:41] Send us out like you do.

[00:58:44] And since Jason wasn't here.

[00:58:47] Or to hear about.

[00:58:49] Jerry's.

[00:58:51] Homework assignment.

[00:58:52] Homework assignment.

[00:58:53] It's to test to see if he actually watches these.

[00:58:56] When he misses.

[00:58:57] Uh.

[00:58:57] The show.

[00:58:58] So I'm.

[00:58:59] Going to read.

[00:59:00] Jason.

[00:59:01] What.

[00:59:02] I think Jerry would enjoy seeing.

[00:59:04] But we'll see if he actually.

[00:59:06] Acknowledges that.

[00:59:07] Uh.

[00:59:08] That they exist.

[00:59:09] By watching the VOD.

[00:59:10] Because I'm pretty sure he won't know.

[00:59:12] That they're out there right now.

[00:59:13] Yep.

[00:59:14] Oh.

[00:59:14] And what's he looking for it?

[00:59:16] Uh.

[00:59:16] Doubt it.

[00:59:17] Uh.

[00:59:18] I mean.

[00:59:18] He's not.

[00:59:18] They're new.

[00:59:19] So.

[00:59:19] He's not quite into pops as much as I am.

[00:59:21] But I mean.

[00:59:22] And I'm.

[00:59:24] I'm.

[00:59:24] I'm.

[00:59:24] Trying not to say anything.

[00:59:25] So that way he can't cheat and do it.

[00:59:27] By listening.

[00:59:28] Yeah.

[00:59:29] Yeah.

[00:59:30] Yeah.

[00:59:30] Because I mean like.

[00:59:31] Those looked interesting.

[00:59:32] And it's like.

[00:59:33] Okay.

[00:59:33] Well.

[00:59:34] I don't know if he was looking for it.

[00:59:36] Or if you were looking for it.

[00:59:37] Or.

[00:59:38] Nope.

[00:59:39] I just happened to stumble upon him.

[00:59:40] On.

[00:59:41] TikTok.

[00:59:42] And I was like.

[00:59:42] Oh.

[00:59:42] I didn't know those came out.

[00:59:43] Well.

[00:59:44] I'm going to go grab those.

[00:59:45] Yeah.

[00:59:46] Mm-hmm.

[00:59:47] So.

[00:59:47] Well.

[00:59:47] All right y'all.

[00:59:48] Thank you for watching.

[00:59:49] Thanks for listening.

[00:59:50] Until next time.

[00:59:51] TTFN.

[00:59:51] Ta-ta for now.

[00:59:53] Good night everybody.
