[00:00:07] And ladies and gentlemen, welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt DiOrio, your host as always, joined by the be-needed one, Gerard Barrera. How are you nerds? What's going on? How you doing? I love it here. Another day, another dollar. Hey, what's up? How's it going?
[00:00:29] Our resident version of Steve. The big face one, Theowalski. I don't know if we were recording when I said about all the white stuff and nothing snort, but speaking of stuff, my dad came to me and he was like, do you know all the nicknames for cocaine? I'm like, why would I know this? Wow. We're not even going to go there. Awesome question.
[00:00:58] And two, he's like, well, I heard a new one on the radio. It is Booger Sugar. Booger Sugar. I've never heard of that one. Oh yeah, I've heard that. I've heard that one. I mean, they did have to do like, there was a whole list that they were trying to use to get around Disney for Deadpool Wolverine. Oh yeah.
[00:01:22] And then, ladies and gentlemen, the man with the couch, our maitre d'oeuvres, the man, the myth, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Bolidio. How's it going guys? How's it going? You know, I missed you, Theo. It's okay. I was sick. You're sick. It's all right, man. Yeah. We're all just sick. So, you know, I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm feeling a lot better. So let's just, we got this. We got this.
[00:01:49] Well, if Colorado weather would make up its bloody mind on what it's doing, I can get over this crap. Nah, it's Colorado. It never makes up its mind. Just like, it's probably going to be like 60 degrees this weekend, even though we were in the single digits like yesterday. No, we're still going to be in the 30s or 40s and then it's going to be in the upper 50s next week. Yeah, man. I'm looking at that forecast.
[00:02:16] You got like super cold. Like, you got like 60 last night. You got like... Did you get a chill? Man, I had to put on my hoodie again. Do you have to bundle up? Yeah, I bundled up a little bit. Warm up some hot cocoa, you know. Actually, I just made a little bit of coffee, you know, just to warm me up. Warm the bones, you know. But just kidding. No, not to make light of what you... You guys get like hellish winters.
[00:02:42] And actually, here I am actually drinking Picard's Drink of Choice, you know. Oh, sweet. A little Orgray, but no, seriously, it was single digits this morning. Jesus. When I go take the kiddo to school first thing in the morning, it's gonna be zero. Yeah, yeah. So like that. Yeah. And it gave us a little bit of snow. So it's a lot of fun, you know. It's Colorado. But... Which was interesting was that when I...
[00:03:12] A couple weeks ago, when I went to Minneapolis, Minneapolis in February, I was perfectly fine with a hoodie outside, even though it was like 15 degrees. Whereas like here in Colorado, there's no way I could get away with a hoodie. With just a hoodie? Not even 20 degrees. Dude, the real... The real feel... The real feel today was... This afternoon, when it was... Temperature-wise, 14 degrees.
[00:03:42] The real feel was six. Oh, Jesus. Wow. Yeah. Yeah, I can't imagine that. We can't imagine that, huh, Jay? Dude, I mean like the only time it's for year six. Come visit. The only time it's for year six is in the first digit, you know. There's snow and then you get snowed in, you have to stay in a few extra days, you know. And we're just like six what? Honestly, right now, all I want to do is like... I'd end up just driving it, which...
[00:04:12] Do you want to shout out or thoughts out rather to the families that have lost people in the plane crashes that happened over the last week? Oh, geez. Yeah. You know. Yeah, I just saw a clip of the Delta one that turned over. Yeah, in Canada? Yeah, they're still trying to figure out how that thing landed with no landing gear and its wings snapped off. That's so crazy. We've had...
[00:04:40] So, since Inauguration Day, we have had seven plane crashes. What the heck is going on, man? Yeah. We don't have... We haven't had that many in the last couple of decades. I think crashes in like 10 years, dude. Yeah. What the heck? I mean, let's talk about a weird week, right? Before we get into everything.
[00:05:01] So, you have NASA, which has now upgraded that new asteroid to a 3.1% chance of hitting Earth, which is the highest percentage rate we've had for an asteroid. Ever. So, that's, you know, 3.1%. They're actually talking about pulling off an Armageddon. And if they can't hit it off its track, they may send a nuke to blow it off its track. Are we seriously...
[00:05:30] It's a good time to be an oil rigger. Are we seriously... Not reliving. Are we living? Actually living? We're about to... The movie Armageddon? If the stories are true, yeah. Oh my God. They're talking about sending a nuke up to... Soon we're going to be training some oil drillers. Yep. Oh my God. I saw... Bruce Willis, what's the funniest? He's saying he's like, damn, I'm trained man. I'm ready for this. Oh my God.
[00:06:01] I don't know if I sent you guys... I don't know if I sent you guys a TikTok of it, but... So over the last week, the new administration decided to lay off several hundred workers from the nuclear agency. You know, it just happens to handle our weapon, you know, nuclear weapons stockpiles and stuff like that. And they realized, oh shit, these guys actually do something important. We should probably get them back, right? They can't get a hold of all these people.
[00:06:30] So I saw a TikTok, somebody took the scene out of Armageddon where they're trying to track everybody down. Yeah. Oh God. Setting it to, you know, they can't get a hold of any of these government employees they let go because of contact information. And then on top of that... It was a good movie. I love Armageddon. It's fun. I'm just... I don't ever need to hear that single again. I'm sorry.
[00:06:57] It was a great single, but it was, you know, kind of like the Titanic song. They played it way too much that year. Way too much. Or like Everything I Do by Bryan Adams from Robin Hood, Prince of Thieves. Oh, that's a... Yeah, dude. It's a classic. That one hurts, but yeah, because that was a good song too. Oh yeah, but they got overplayed, right? Oh yeah. Yeah. Like, and I love Bryan Adams. Every commercial, like, oh, they milked that song for everything it was worth. Yeah. That was a bummer.
[00:07:27] Then, the other day, an orifice shows up beached on the coast of Mexico, which local superstitions say that basically, if an orifice is, which is basically usually down in the depths of the ocean. That's like a... Those are usually like a mile down, right? Something like that? Yeah. Holy crap. If they show up on the shore, it's basically, they call it a bad omen.
[00:07:56] And that something really bad is going to happen because its nickname is the Doomsday Fish. That's fun. Yeah. Let me pull up a picture of what an orifice actually looks like. Um, I actually have one in my museum in Animal Crossing. Jeez. Um, now you're going to remove it because it's a Doomsday Fish? Nerd. I love it. Don't even.
[00:08:28] Hey, it's the level of nerd that put it in the game. Come on now. That is true. That is true. Right? Um, anyway, so this is what an orifice looks like. Right. Weird. So, it is, yeah, they're known as a Doomsday Fish and the thought is to be a sign of impending natural disaster. Well, I'm so confused.
[00:08:57] Um, just so the last time. So the last time, uh, November six and where fish was found on the shores of Grandview beach in cell cow one month later, a seven Oh earthquake struck off the West coast, triggering tsunami warnings for California and Oregon. What? Yes. And where was this fish found that this one is where did they find this one?
[00:09:24] Uh, down in, uh, Baja California Sur Beach down in Mexico. Oh, damn. Uh oh. Yeah. No bueno. No. And to your point, though. Uh, California's had enough. Go on. Like, give him a break. Oh, yeah. I mean. What the F dude? You know, like they said in, uh, Jurassic Park, nature finds a way, you know, at this point, the way, like we keep getting these Arctic blasts and stuff.
[00:09:53] I'm just waiting for us to start living out day after tomorrow. Hmm. True. But I mean, do we think we can use anything from that movie in order to survive? Fuck no. I mean, at least, at least know to get inside if you, if you're in the eye of the storm. Yeah, but I mean, it deals with an actual legit phenomenon, which is the desalinization of the ocean, you know?
[00:10:23] Um, in that movie, though, it happened like overnight. You know, it, it gave us an ice age eventually, you know, but that's why we had Geostorm. Right. So, you know, uh, here's a better, here's another picture of a, of an orfish. Yeah. That's ugly. Yes. Ugly.
[00:10:50] And they can get, yeah, they can get very like super big. They're super ugly. So, yeah, that's, that's kind of how jacked up the past week has been for everybody. So, um, so the, the title of this episode is, uh, did the state of play have the power? They did. So we'll get to the state of play. Right.
[00:11:17] But the reason it's, it's being called to have the power is because I didn't even know they were making it, but they are starting to shoot masters of the universe. Yeah. For a release next year. So case in point, the last time they tried to do this was 1987 and we got Dolph Lunger and his he-man Frank Angelus Skeletor. Uh, you know, Meg Foster as Evelyn. Awesome.
[00:11:46] A very young Courtney Cox. Yeah. Um, you know, yeah. Chelsea field is Tila. We had, you know, they did have the sorceress, uh, the impeccable James Tolkien, who we all know is the principal from back to the future. You know, did he ever have any hair? Um, you know, no, you know, so, and it is, that movie was campy as hell. Gouldor. Yeah.
[00:12:15] You know, I mean, at the time, Billy Bartley. That's so cool. Dolph Lunger was probably the only one that could play the man at that time. Oh, and John Cyphers. Oh, so cool, man. Yeah. As Duncan. I mean, it was for all of us that grew up in that time and had he-man toys. It was our movie. Me, uh, Frank, Frank Langella, uh, made the movie. He, like, oh, yeah.
[00:12:42] The first time I saw it, I was just like in awe, like I loved it. But then the reason I kept watching the movie periodically in my life is for, uh, that performance. Oh, yeah. There's so many, like, little things like, um, the scene where, uh, they already captured he-man. And, uh, Skeletor leans in and asks him that question, but quoting Shakespeare. That was totally, uh, um, improv.
[00:13:12] And then- Such a great scene. And then for me, it also had, um, Robert Duncan McNeil, who played the boyfriend, who anybody who watched Voyager, he went on to be- He's Voyager. He's Paris. Yep. He's Tom Paris. So, you know, that was like how young they were back then, right? Oh, yeah. Oh, dude. He was so young. To have them. You know? So, anyways, they are doing- They are doing this.
[00:13:42] But, oh. I was almost happy, completely happy with the cast. Almost. So, you've got, um, Miranda Baccarin as the Sorceress, which- Awesome. Okay. Not bad. Allison Brie as Evil Lynn. I think that's going to be badass. I can't wait to see that. I'm interested to see that. Oh, well, since I've seen anything with Allison Brie in it though. Yeah. Right? Last thing she was- Uh, what's the last thing she was in? Um, probably something with her husband.
[00:14:12] No, it's a bunch- Last thing I remember is Freelance with- Not it's- With, uh, John Cena. Freelance. Yeah. Oh, okay. Yeah. It's the last real thing that she did. Really? Um, now I- Okay, so, Nicholas Galassine is going to be playing He-Man. I don't- Like, that's gonna be some- Oh yeah, I can see it. CGI stuff to make sure he did.
[00:14:42] No. He- Uh, I- I think he's going to be putting on- He's- Like, if he- I can put on muscle, but I don't think he'll necessarily bulk up and widen out for it. No, because- You gotta think- I think he's gonna be a great Adam. He's got the wiry frame for Adam, but I just- I look at him, right? And he just doesn't have the- The big build that is He-Man when he transforms.
[00:15:09] So, that's my question mark out of it. Um, you know, we're gonna get- Oh, is that- They don't have an Adam? Like, I thought he was He-Man. He is Adam. He's He-Man slash Adam. That's- Oh, really? Yeah. Oh, then yeah. Then they might CGI it then. Or, yeah, maybe makeup or something. Cause- I thought they were doing two parts. For a second. But, uh, I guess not.
[00:15:40] Let's go look at- Yeah, cause he's got- They've got him listed as He-Man. Yeah, yeah, yeah. And Prince Adam is Eternia. So, never mind about that. Prince of Eternia, so- You know, we've got- So, we're gonna get King Randor and Queen of Arlena. So, they're basically, you know, setting it in the- The earlier days. Right? Those two actors are awesome. Yep. That's Tom Hardy's wife is Charlotte Riley. I didn't know that. You've got Idris Elba is playing Man at Arms.
[00:16:10] That's gonna be badass. That's gonna be awesome. That's badass. Um, you've got- Okay, so this is probably the one you're thinking of, Cherry. Oh my God. Jared Leto is playing Skeletor. No. I don't want that. It's Morbin time. You've got- I do not want that. I mean, is he- Like, is he gonna put a fucking Joker spin on me? Oh God.
[00:16:41] Like, I guess- You know what scares me? Is he gonna try and bring back the original cartoon voice? The whiny- Oh Jesus. That's- Yeah. Cause he would do it. He would try to bring that. And like, make that sexy. I don't know. That was the one- I don't think he would try to make it sexy. I don't know. Skeletor needs to be- Skeletor needs to be- Ugh. Up until- How are you-
[00:17:10] Up until he becomes the Horde's bitch, you know? I don't get it. How are- How is he getting these, like, absolute, like, monumental parts? Like, Tron Aries? He's in the next Tron. He's in this. He was in, uh, um, friggin' Blade Runner. Okay, like- Yeah. Ugh. He wasn't bad at- He wasn't- Okay, he wasn't bad in Blade Runner. He wasn't bad in Blade Runner. I'm not gonna- I won't lie about that. But, like, I'm worried about Tron, and I was very much worried about this.
[00:17:39] Um, so, real quick, we've got, uh, Camelot Mendez as Tila. Cool. Like I said. I could see that. Yeah? Absolutely. Um, I am- I'm not even gonna try and pronounce his name, but he's playing Goatman. Mm-hmm. Um, I know we've got Malcolm. You've got Sam C. Wilson, uh, playing Trapjaw. Cool. We've got, uh, Kojo Atta playing Triclops.
[00:18:06] Uh, John Jui Zhang as Ramman. Oh, bitchin'. Awesome. I loved Ramman. That figure was great. Yeah, that figure was fun. And he's got the- He's got the build for it, too. Yeah. That's gonna be cool. Like, when you look at him, you know, he's got the very much- Oh, that's gonna be cool, man. You know, he's very much got that- That stocky build to do- To do Ramman with.
[00:18:31] So, um, you know, overall, I'm gonna say this. I have more faith in Mortal Kombat 2 than I do Masters of the Universe. They're doing another Mortal Kombat 2? Yeah. Yeah, we talked about that last week. Karl Rubin, uh, posted the, uh, his character, uh, poster. Seriously?
[00:19:01] But the first one did so bad. Honestly, dude, I actually enjoyed it. I- I liked it. You did? I did. I- I definitely saw it- it- it had its, um, problems. It had its holes and- and- and stuff like that. Mm-hmm. I- I definitely had a problem with the main character, Cole. I was just like, get rid of that and then continue everything else. And then, like, use that.
[00:19:29] Like, use the- then go to the next movie without Cole. But he's in the next movie. Yeah. Here's- here's my thing is, even with some of the- the names you do have in this, with, like, uh, Morena and Allison and Idris, I- I- it worries me a lot. And this is why I- I say Mortal Kombat has a little bit more faith than me, is just because of Jared Leto. Like, his- his take on the Joker was terrible.
[00:20:01] Like, so when you take somebody like that, that tries to put their own- I- I get it. Putting your own unique spin on it. But he's playing an iconic character. And you've got some boots to fill, right? And this way I don't think they're gonna go the true Frank Langella route, you know, for- for Skeletor. Because in- in the original Masters Universe live action, Skeletor was menacing. Right. You know? Yeah.
[00:20:29] Um, I- I swear to God, though, if they try to bring back the whiny little bitch Skeletor from the cartoons- I kinda want that to happen, though. Granted, I don't think Leto can pull it off, but I think- I think it would be hilarious, though. Yeah. I- I don't- I don't think it's gonna be terrible. Um, uh, that's a- I mean, that is a strong cast. And don't get me wrong, Jared Leto has his moments. Um, but-
[00:20:58] I'm- I'm just definitely concerned about that casting. Uh, like, I just- there were so many other people that I would have considered that I think they- like, those actors would have definitely considered the role or, you know, uh, had a- a- more of a- I mean- I- I just know, I- like, Jared Leto is just so much of a wild card in my eyes. I don't know.
[00:21:28] Look at who he's going up. Look at who he's going up as, right? You've got Frank Langella, and then Mark Hamill played him for Kevin Smith's Masters of the Universe reboot. Right? Right. And he was the menacing, yet he still had that, you know, kinda- High arc. He- he didn't have like the- the- the- He wasn't the whiny little bitch. Not the whiny, but he had that high arc where he was- Yes.
[00:21:54] Like, borderline on the whiny, but he- he kept it like, uncorny. He- like, but it worked for animation. It did. That's why, like, live action, it's different. It's- it's like- he- yeah, I- that's just what I'm afraid of. I think the first thing I- I- I thought of when I saw Jared Leto as Skeletor is like, is he gonna go with the cartoon route? Because that's the first thing I would have thought. Like-
[00:22:22] He- he wants to bring- like you said, uh, uh, he wants to bring his own take on it, his own spin, be unique. But, um, yeah, I'm just- I- I- I- yeah, I'm just worried about that. So, alright, so I'm gonna put it out to you guys. Do you guys have more faith in Mortal Kombat 2 or more faith in Masters of the Universe? Uh, I have more faith in a Super Mario Brothers 2 with Chris Crash. Oh, fuck! Damn!
[00:22:54] That's where I'm at with that. I was at least gonna say- you know what I was thinking- I was at least gonna say, uh, Karl Urban in Mortal Kombat. Nope. But- but- He-Man- He-Man has a- a- a- a- a- strong cast. I don't know. That's tough. 22 definitely- it's gonna be Mortal Kombat, dude. I have more faith in that. Oh yeah? More faith in that at all. Like- Ugh, it's just-
[00:23:23] Let me put it this way- Like, it's- Needed. Like, why? I have more faith in the Spaceball sequel. You know, like- Like, let's be honest. How many people now are gonna be like, oh, Masters of the Universe? Like, it's gonna- it's just targeted for like- The- later generations. Yeah. You know? Like- It's- Who's kid- has any of your kids seen a Masters of the Universe? A- He-Man episode?
[00:23:53] No. Like, has anybody in their teens- Even the reboot on the Netflix one? The Kevin Smith one? No, they haven't. Okay. Because they've- I mean, it's on there, but I mean, they have to go onto the adult side. It's not even- it doesn't even show up on the kids' side. Oh. Like, it's not even like worth sometimes. Like, bro. I mean, unless the- the- um- polls in the like- Schem- whatever the- the schematics are there for uh- its popularity.
[00:24:20] I mean, maybe hitting high schoolers or something. Like you said, the newer Netflix shows, but- I- I don't know how big of an impact it's truly made. I mean, have you seen- Have you seen the toy section? Also- but that's the other thing. Like this. Exactly. And then we keep seeing all the same- all the collabs are coming out. Like the- Ninja Turtle collabs just came out. Okay. Talk about turtles. Of Masters of the Universe. Okay. The- the Michael Bay version. Like, you look at who was in that from an actor perspective.
[00:24:50] That was a decent cast as well. So you would think it would- I mean, it was decent for- I feel like it was like- But- Low B tier, high C tier. For- For which movie? I mean- For the Michael Bay- T-MNTs. The TMNTs. With Megan Fox. B. C. Okay. I mean, but even then like- That didn't- That wasn't great either. Like- No, it was not. Yeah. Seriously, it's not.
[00:25:20] I wouldn't compare those movies. You're comparing like fully CGI- Going a full CGI for four characters. Well, I mean, even- People are used to the game more practically. You know what? They're gonna do shit with the story. I have more faith- And the story was still terrible. Yeah. I have more faith in the Goonies sequel that's in the works right now than I do this. Yes. I agree. I would have more faith in that. And the only reason is because most of the original cast has signed on to do it. Yeah.
[00:25:48] And two, Steven Spielberg is producing it. He's not gonna direct it, but he's gonna produce it. Hmm. Even then, the Spaceballs sequel that's in the works that Josh Gad is doing. Mel Brooks is on board to- To help write that. That's pretty awesome. Oh my God. I'm game for that. I- I have more faith in those. Like, I- I don't understand why we're doing it. See, at least they have the original director to keep things in line. But-
[00:26:17] He's a super, like, gad for Spaceballs. He's a fan. Like, he- Totally makes sense. That- Yes. Yeah, absolutely. And he will bring- He will bring the comedy. Yes. Oh yeah. That's the whole point of that. Like, at this point, right? Why Masters of the Universe? There's so many other things you could have picked. Like, I'd rather have a fucking GoBots movie than Masters of the Universe at this point. Right? But like, give us a last Starfighter sequel. The other thing is, is this-
[00:26:46] But this has been in the works for like 10 years. It's been in development hell for like, for so many years. Um- Development hell, right here. I'm just not surprised- Oh yeah. The power returns March 2021. That's when they were originally- Right. We're trying to bring this thing back. Wow. Yeah. That's just sad. So, anyways.
[00:27:11] But, but the other thing is that what we don't know is, even by then, uh, we don't know how much money they already sank into it. Right. Okay. Even then I- I mean, they had to have sank in quite a bit in order to get those names. Like, I mean, it is a pretty- Yeah. I would say- But even for that development stage and finally having that poster, like, yeah, I'm sure they were-
[00:27:36] As far as like, like, we either cut our losses and completely cut it or, or we keep going and like- I- I- Develop the hell out of it. Or whatever. So, Travis Knight- Okay. So, Travis Knight is directing it. So, I do have a- I mean, not much- Dude, oh, Kubo was dope. But still, director doesn't always improve the movie if there's bad writing. Yeah. I mean, yeah.
[00:28:06] That's the thing. Bumblebee wasn't bad. You know? But, uh, oh my God, they're bringing back six- Essentially six million dollar man. Okay. I'm- Okay. If you're gonna bring back something good from the eighties, bring- Give me a last Starfighter sequel, please. It'd be great. I really wanna know where- Where's the original ideas? Like, why is it all of these remakes, like in games and movies and everything? Stop revitalizing things. Let's- Get something original, please. Let's suck state of play. Kubo was dope, though.
[00:28:35] I did enjoy that movie. Ugh. All right. So, we had a state of play on Wednesday. Okay. There was roughly 30 games that they- They showcased during the presentation. So, we got a new trailer for Borderlands 4. Um, that will be coming out in September. I- Um, that will be coming out in September.
[00:29:02] And, um, that will be coming out in September. Uh, we're gonna go ahead and see what's going on in September. Um, that will be coming out in September. You're gonna come up with it. Wow.
[00:29:29] And you make some Like a Dragon themed items for food and stuff. Um, comes out in April. Yay! Nobody asked for this. Done. I'm getting it. Days Gone Remastered. What's the day that didn't really need to be remastered for? That's what I don't understand. Honestly- Wasn't it a PS4, PS5 release? Yeah. You know, it's one of those things where- No, PS4.
[00:29:59] Never released on PS5. It was never released on PS5? Wow. But, I'm just- This only makes me happy because one, the cult followings, like, they've been heard. You know, I just hope this helps- Gets Ben Studio, like, maybe to get a sequel or something going because I- Okay. A lot of people really started loving this game and that's how it- Like, the ball started rolling for it.
[00:30:29] That's- That's the only reason. But, uh, I'm gonna get it. Here's my thing with this. I like he's- Like he says cult following him, but however, I know he doesn't do this, but I just picture him, uh, designing a bot that sends an email every day for- For this. And he is the cult. He is the cult following. I think this- Here's- Here's my thing. And this is where Jerry may or may not agree with me. I think this is-
[00:30:55] Really shows us how far out of touch PlayStation is with their player base because players, a good portion of the PlayStation community has been asking for Bloodborne as a remaster. Okay. Yeah. Which we all saw that on the show floor back in 2014. Yeah. On the original, when the PS4 launched, right? That one's due for a remaster, but they're not listening.
[00:31:22] And I think case in point, when you look at how far they're out of touch because, um, now that Shuhei is no longer with the company, he's doing interviews and he's talking. And basically he was head of first party for PlayStation back in the day. And then they basically brought in Jim Ryan and he was told either move to Indies or leave the company. This is Shu, right?
[00:31:51] Mr. This is how we trade games. Yeah. Physical copies, Shuhei, with Adam Boyce. So we've already been talking, you know, as of late that we've thought that PlayStation is a little out of touch with their fan base. And I get it. There is a cult following for days gone. Don't get me wrong on that one. But when you look at- Is it too little too late? Like, do I feel that way? Yeah. Um, would I rather this be a sequel? Absolutely.
[00:32:20] Um, I'm just jazzed about it because it's updated. It's going to be for PS5. I love the game. Like you said, I'm part of that following, but I do agree. Uh, do we need it? No, no. Uh, like if it wasn't, if it didn't do good enough, this can be taken away and an original kind of game, original idea could be taking, shooting their shot for a company and it could be, you know, uh, previewing a new game. And we'll get there. There is a new IP that we'll get to, right?
[00:32:50] But real quick before we move on, I'm just like, if this game wasn't good enough to warrant greenlighting a sequel for Ben, why waste the resources to remaster it? Well, it takes less resources and they got most of it. And they got rid of most of their resources. I mean, I think now it's starting to become, this is going to remastered is going to be the new greatest hits. That's what I'm feeling that it's going to be now.
[00:33:20] But I mean, even still, it's like, it doesn't need to be like going above and beyond, like just re re re release it with a little bit of bells and whistles. And that's it. Like you don't need to have, I'm kind of on board with you with it being in the next greatest hits. Just re release the game again, just like they did back on. Yeah. Now they are going to doing a $10 upgrade. Yeah. For real. But they are going to do a $10 offer like they did with horizon and go to Shima and
[00:33:49] stuff like that, where on launch day, anyone who's who owns the PS4 version, will be able to upgrade for 10 bucks to the PS5 version. So you won't have to pay full price for it. So, so we got Digimon story time stranger. A new game called directive 80 20 from the team that did until dawn from
[00:34:17] supermass and whatnot. So you've got that game coming in October. A game called dreams of another from cute games. Five night at Freddy's to get another sequel, which speaking of that, I saw they're doing a five night at Freddy's two movie as well. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. I did. I did watch that. I like it was so bad.
[00:34:46] You've got hell is us coming in September. That looks kind of cool. Like I have to check that out. I like the name. Overture. That looked great. Overture getting a DLC for that. You've got like a dragon pirate. Yakuza in Hawaii. Full game comes out. This week, Friday, but they did launch a demo. I was available last, last Friday.
[00:35:17] Lost soul aside, this one looked kind of cool. You know, initially started off one guy as a development team and then it's grown. It basically looks like you have to read your night, you know, lost souls, you know, kind of save the world type thing. You've got metal Eden. Pardon me. As I just skipped right out of it. Metal Eden. Yeah.
[00:35:48] Yep. And then. Metal Gear Solid snake eater. Already got a pre-order baby. Coming out in August. You've got mind's eye, which looked kind of, kind of pretty cool on that one. I have to rewatch that trailer that it was kind of trippy. Yeah. It looked cool. Yeah. Basically got fine answers kind of just felt like really kind of like a sci-fi type by the end of it.
[00:36:17] They kicked off with monster hunter wilds, which is they've been kicking off their state of plays or ending with their state of place for a while now for wilds. Cool. Onimusha way of the sword. So we're finally getting a new entry in the Onimusha series. They did. Okay. That's that's too bad. But yeah. Onimusha 2, which was on the PS2 is going to be coming out as well. Sweet. With upgraded graphics and quality of life stuff.
[00:36:47] 2 was good too. 2 was also a decent game. Yeah. They announced some game catalog stuff. All those games are going to be coming to game catalog. Cool. This one. Here's a new IP. This is coming from house mark. The ones you did. This was. Yeah, this was interesting. That looked cool. We met him on the floor at E3. So with that one, it's taking the same play style from returnal and
[00:37:17] pretty much amping it up for the gameplay style in Soros. You had Shinobi. Shinobi looked cool too. We haven't heard of in ages. Art of Vengeance. That looked. I love the art style on that. Yeah. The whole cell shading. What not? Sonic racing cross worlds. Split fiction, which is from the same team that did over at his light studios. It did. It takes two.
[00:37:49] That looks. It looks beautiful. And also, I heard that you also don't need to buy games twice. Like you can buy single game. You can share it. Like you could. With it takes two. Yep. It's called friends pass. That's something they did with it takes two as well. Then you've got split gate, which is basically. It's a multi-team kind of poor warfare game. So it's a. Each game will have 24 players. 8 V8 V8.
[00:38:20] And you go from there. Seller blade is getting a DLC for us. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. Oh my goodness. No, the Nick egg got as a victory DLC. Oh man. Oh, you know it. It's. It's going to spark so much. So much fan service. Let's say. Oh, okay.
[00:38:47] Um, you've got midnight walk, which I really enjoyed this trailer because most of the animate, like the animation stuff is actually made out of clay. So they molded everything out of clay. I missed that. Oh, cool. I have to check that out. Yeah. If you go back and watch say to play, um, to the design, uh, part of the, the dev team was talking about that, that they molded everything in clay. So, yeah. So it looks really cool.
[00:39:16] So, um, you've got tides of annihilation, which looked really cool as well. It looks fun. Um, you know, that's coming from eclipse glow studio. Uh, you're getting warriors of this, which shadow dropped on, uh, Wednesday when they did say to play, it's basically a roguelite set in the warriors universe.
[00:39:38] Um, they debuted, uh, the Island for WWE 2k 25, which if anybody follows wrestling, the reference to the Island is basically Roman reigns is iron Island of relevancy. Uh, it can have up to 50 players, um, in each Island area at one time.
[00:40:00] You have shops that you can, you know, outfit your created wrestler and stuff with different clothes, different masks, all sorts of different things there. Um, so overall, I mean, this was the, the super high level stuff. There was some smaller indie stuff in there. Um, and some announcements overall though. I wasn't, I was not truly impressed with state of play. Okay.
[00:40:28] There's some decent stuff in here, like, but they didn't have quite the breadth of stuff that you wouldn't, you've normally come to see out of state of play where it had like something truly for everybody. Um, I feel that it was kind of solid. It just didn't have the wow factor, like triple a announcements that I think a lot of people were hoping for.
[00:40:55] I, I would put it at like a BB minus for me. You know, there's some good, good stuff. Yeah. You know, there's other stuff that, you know, I should feel like that's pretty high these days. You know, um, some of the stuff they didn't show off. Let's see here. Yeah. Did it, um, Oh, hell is us. No, they showed everything on here. So, I mean, yeah, it was a lot of titles.
[00:41:23] Um, you didn't get to see a ton of information about the games cause it was only a 40 minute, um, presentation. So when you look at it, right. 30, 30 ish games. So that's only about a minute and a half each. So you got enough to see a little bit of a tiny trailer, but nothing really big. And I think some of these games absolutely deserve to have way more airtime. Uh, man, I got a decent amount of time.
[00:41:49] Um, sorrows didn't have a ton and for having it come from house Mark, which is a first party studio and it ended your state of play. There should have been a bit. There's a massive teaser though. I mean, it still looked amazing. Oh, it looks great. Don't get me wrong. And I, I haven't played returnally yet. So I don't know how that play style works. Um, but, um, if, if you die, you, you like completely restart.
[00:42:19] That's what it looks like. They're going to do with it. So similar to eternal. So I thought, I thought Soros, it was supposed to be a little bit like, um, what was that other one? Um, but when you died that you, you aged a little bit, but you learned more. Yeah. You were, you do in sorrows, you do retain, I think your power or your, um, experience or something there. It was, there was a difference between that and returnal. Yeah. Okay.
[00:42:51] Um, so we'll get an extended gameplay later this year. Uh, it's not due out until 2026. So, um, I mean, overall, I mean, it was solid, but it wasn't, it wasn't earth shattering, mind blowing. Hey, this is what's coming from PlayStation studios. No, that's why I agree with like maybe the BB minus. I mean, I think it was just, it was solid, but it, it wasn't, it wasn't like teenagers first time. Wow.
[00:43:21] Wow. Oh my God. We, we, we, not, not earth shattering and short lived. Duly noted. No more, no more snowballs. Uh, but yeah, I kind of feel like, uh, it's not what we were all like kind of used to back in the day or, you know, when they would, you know, kind of lead up to like the big, you know, revealed, uh, uh, games that we were kind of waiting for hoping to like some of the rumors confirmed. Um, but yeah, yeah, I kind of agree.
[00:43:50] It was just like, we haven't seen solid. It was okay. Like we haven't heard anything on Wolverine. Oh my God. Yeah. Right. It's been a long time. Two years, probably at this point. Right. Um, it, we don't know what Sony, you know, Santa Monica is, is cooking yet. You know, we've it's rumors that it's a rumor. Yeah. You know, it's a rumor of God of War, but we don't know anything. It's not confirmed.
[00:44:18] I mean, we still don't know if there is even a God of War game. So yeah, I mean, yeah, we haven't really heard any news. Yeah. So, I mean, when you look at everything from their studios, right. And then, you know, real quick, um, before we kind of get into what we've been playing, what we've been watching though, I do got to shout out, um, you know, everything from, you know, Phil Spencer from over at Microsoft, because going forward with all of their now previous
[00:44:47] presentations, um, they are going to start displaying the PlayStation and Nintendo logo on any game that's going to be coming out on those systems when they do their presentations. Nice. And PlayStation and Nintendo and Nintendo. So his point is, you know what he's done. He wants just people to be able to play wherever on whatever.
[00:45:08] And he feels like they need to do right by the current fans, as well as the prospective new fans that, you know what, when a game is going to be coming out on cross platform, they deserve to see what platform it's coming out on. Yeah. For sure. Okay. So point, you're not going to see PlayStation do that. Cause they're going to be like, Oh, this game coming out on Xbox. Now we're not going to include that.
[00:45:31] So, I mean, unfortunately, I guess, uh, Sony is going to be the last one, uh, to follow suit, which, uh, sucks, but Xbox, uh, you know, has, you know, they kind of, kind of has, uh, the, the upper hand in being the first one to, to kind of, Hey, you know what? Yeah. Yeah. They're taking their leaps and, and you know what? They're, they're, they're stepping up because E-Day, Gears of War.
[00:46:01] Can't wait to play it. I'm going to play it on PlayStation. It's coming out. Halo Infinite, all those, you know, they're all coming out for, uh, for PS5. Dude, somebody dubbed like, you know, mocked up cases for Master Chief collection. Oh yeah. And Halo Infinite with the PS5 logo on them. I'm like, I want to play them, but that doesn't feel right. It doesn't look right. It's going to be weird. It's going to be a little weird. Yeah. But, um, but that's the thing they stepped up and they, they said they would do it and they did it. And, uh, you know what?
[00:46:30] Hopefully Sony follows suit at some point, or, uh, you know, if the fans are like all in agreement and kind of, you know, petitioning, you know, you know, let, let the Xbox players play too. Why not? But I think this shows you like the mindset Microsoft switching to, right? Which is what we we've said for a while now. And I've said for a while now, they just moved to, they need to move to being a publisher, you know, where you got your studios, you're putting it out on other platforms, you know?
[00:47:00] Yeah. So I, I have to give kudos and applause to Phil Spencer. Absolutely. And Xbox for what they're doing. And am I going to benefit from it being on PlayStation? Yes. Um, now, you know, going forward, it's, is it going to make me get an Xbox? No, because if they're going to bring the games out on, on PS five or switch, you know, switch to, I don't have to worry about getting another console. You know, I don't need all three. Yeah.
[00:47:29] I can just have my two, you know, or Theo can just sit over there playing Minecraft on his PC. That's right. You know, PC master ice. Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Yeah. You're not wrong. All right. So Jason, what you been playing? What you been watching? Um, so we've been watching, uh, extraordinary. Uh, I think it's that Canadian, uh, on thing on Hulu. Very hilarious. Okay.
[00:47:59] Everybody else has powers. Everybody has random powers. I remember when that show was actually on TV. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, it's like tech support or it's like hero support, but none of them have powers. Yeah. Well, no. So pretty much it's like, everybody has random dumb powers and it's pretty funny. Oh, geez. Okay. But the person, but the person, uh, that they focus on, she doesn't have powers, even though she's 25. And like when you turn 18 is when you get your power.
[00:48:28] It's Vanessa Hudgens, isn't it? No, no, no, no, no. It's a different one. I think you're talking about, I think you're thinking of a powerless. Yeah. There's that. Oh, okay. Yeah. Yeah. But, uh, yeah, the one that, uh, I've been watching. Yeah. It's, it's hilarious, man. It's like some of the powers that are like really good, really cool. And then some of them are just hilarious. Like one guy can, can, uh, make anything.
[00:48:55] Why does it, why does this make me feel like it's a sky high? The adult years. It could be, but I mean like one of the guys, one of the guys has a super power. That's not bad. That, uh, he can 3d print anything from his ass. Oh my God. I mean, like that's, that's one of the, one of the multiple like hilarious ones. I don't like y'all do this. Oh my God. But now I just like picture him like, oh yeah.
[00:49:21] He's like gripped up to his knees and like on this big rod, just like on this big rod, just like moving his ass. Half the show. Half the show. He's like, he like pulls down his pants. He's squatting. Oh my God. And it's just hilarious. And then he's like, oh, no, I don't want the figures to come out of his butt. But I want him to actually like, be moved around to 3d print it from. Oh my God. That's what I've been watching that.
[00:49:49] And then, um, when, uh, we are both awake and we have some time, uh, both of us were playing last of us too, to get, uh, ready for, uh, you know, next season. Nice. Nice. So, I mean, we're, we're taking it slow. No, no, no rush. We've spent like about an hour, hour and a half just playing it. You know, we're like at the moment, we're not too far in where, uh, we're, uh, just
[00:50:17] at the part where, uh, what's her name? Oh my God. Ellie and Dina hook up. Oh, okay. Ellie and Dina hook up. They just, you know, it's very, very, very like chapter one, very beginner, very beginning, but we're not like going too crazy. We're not going too hard on it. All right. But we are trying to get ready for the next season. Cause the next season comes out April. So. Ooh. Oh, I can't wait. Yeah.
[00:50:42] So speaking of April, speaking of April, Theo, they, they assume borderlands going to be this year sometime this year. Uh, three. Oh yeah. Allison borderlands. Yes. Three, bro. I don't know what's going to happen because I don't know either. So I didn't know that there was more out of the manga. Uh, well the manga had a season one, season two, and then right. Season three would be the quote unquote extra time where they have like this little, they
[00:51:12] have like a one-off. It's like a couple of one-offs, um, with, with, uh, Alice in there. Okay. It's like, he saved somebody, but goes back to borderlands for a second. And then he's like, Oh, what the heck? Yeah. There, uh, there's rumor that April 13th is going to be the release date for last of a season two. Yeah. Okay. Okay. Sometime April. Yeah. So we'll try, we'll try, you know what? Two months to, to beat it.
[00:51:40] You know, that's going to be, uh, you know, don't have to go crazy on it. All right. Minecraft boy. Uh, doing, been doing Minecraft. So, uh, no, no, uh, I'm probably getting ready to, to finally go back to destiny two for a while with the new season. Uh, been some more videos have been popping up on my feed. Uh, Oh, I was going to ask you about, uh, uh, uh, destiny.
[00:52:10] If you've been checking out the star Wars collab, I guess that came out. Right. Oh, I don't know. I actually haven't, I haven't seen it. Oh yeah. Yeah. Uh, really quick. It's going to be, it's, it's more, um, it's cosmetics. I'm sure. Yeah. But I mean, you can never go wrong. If there's a light, I'll get it. They actually look pretty dope. And there is the, the, one of the emotes.
[00:52:33] I think is, um, the final fight between Obi-Wan and, and, uh, I have the higher ground or, or that. I think it's one, it's one of those. It's one of those fights. Oh, okay. But it's, it's, they, they looked pretty dope. If they, if it was real, it was pretty. Yeah. Oh, sick. You got a storm trooper. And then you've got the emperor's guard. Uh, the, um, I feel attacked. I feel attacked.
[00:53:01] I feel attacked because the hunter is the storm trooper. Oh, yeah. I feel attacked. I am a hunter main and I will forever be a hunter main. Hunter baby. Hunter class, baby. Do not, uh, hit me with the storm trooper that can't shoot. So the ghost ship, the ghost shell is, uh, the death star two. Oh, that's dope.
[00:53:28] Um, and then your, your ship is actually Vader's tie fighter. That's cool. Oh, it makes the tie fighter sounds. There's also a, uh, the speeder bike from, uh, episode six. Yep. For your sparrow. And then, yeah, but, uh, yeah, definitely check out the emotes though. Cause, uh, I, one of them is one of those classic fights, either Obi-Wan and Darth Maul or Obi-Wan in, um, Anakin and it's dude, it's cool.
[00:53:58] Yeah. Uh, but yeah, that's about it. Uh, we have been watching some stuff. I did catch the second season of the recruit on Netflix. Same with night agent. Both are really good. Um, and I'm down to the last two episodes of Cobra Kai. Nice. Oh, sick. Matt, what about you? Which I saw a, uh, interview with, uh, Ralph Macchio.
[00:54:26] I did not know that there's, uh, a good amount of stuff in the last couple episodes to set him up for that new, uh, karate kid with Jackie Chan. Yes. Oh, sweet. I'll let you go first, Jerry. Okay. Um, still playing cyberpunk. I, uh, yeah, just kind of taking my time on that and stuff. Uh, let's see. I've been finishing up or I've been keeping up with, uh, shifting gears. Cause I'm a, uh, Tim Allen fan.
[00:54:56] Um, I tried that. I tried the first episode and it was not hitting it for me. Do I need to give it another try? I would try it. It definitely steers towards like last man standing vibes. I loved last man stand. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It, it eventually hits, but no, I get you. The, the first episode kind of ran a little dry cause he was a little serious. Yeah. Um, but, uh, no, it shifts into like the standard kind of like sitcom comedy.
[00:55:26] Like they, and definitely when they, Sean William Scott is in it, he brings something to the table, you know? So, uh, yeah, I've been, I've been enjoying that. Um, I'm also a big Dennis Leary fan. So I've been, uh, watching that new, his new show, uh, going Dutch. Uh, that's been pretty, that's been pretty funny. Um, is that the military one? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It's not bad. Uh, but he's definitely really funny. Like he, he does a lot of his like quick, like, oh yeah. Is that right? Yeah.
[00:55:55] His, his type of comedy. And, um, let's see what, what else have I been watching? Uh, yeah, I think that's about it. And just, yeah, cyberpunk. I've been trying to like finish that. And then I really want to finish outlaws and just do that one last mission and be done. And then, uh, yeah, and that's it. Nice. You Matt. Um, so watching wise, um, I am doing. Oh, sorry. I forgot.
[00:56:24] I'm also fully keeping up with solo leveling. Second season is mind blowing. That's all. Yep. That's it. Um, all right. So me, I am doing a first time full watch of star Wars rebels. Um, when it first came out, like it never really resonated with me very in, you know, the very, very beginning, you know, back in the day, but, uh, I'm loving it. They hit grand Admiral Theron on the nose with how he is.
[00:56:53] And that's how I pictured him in the books. So, you know, the great air of the empire trilogy from Timothy's on, um, you know, um, also, uh, last night I watched the new miles teller movie, the gorge. Oh, I need to see. Oh, so did I did too. That was good. Uh, it is good. Like, okay.
[00:57:16] It had, it kind of had a last of a last of us vibe to it in some ways because, uh, because it, you know, how it was great. Yeah. Oh, no, it was a really good movie for an Apple TV. It was, it was great. Yeah. Um, you know, Sigourney Weaver was in it and I, she played her role very well, um, for what it was. Um, you know, when you get into this, the, the actual, when you get further into the movie,
[00:57:46] it, you know, it was good. It was good. I liked the, the ending to it kind of wrapped it up. Yeah. Um, didn't leave you hanging on anything. Um, I saw an interview that they, they paid homage to their other work. Um, I was, uh, with, uh, making Anya Taylor, Joy's character play chess and, um, Miles Teller played the drums. Miles played the drums. Yeah. Yeah. So it was, it was a great, I mean, it was, it was an enjoyable movie.
[00:58:15] Like made me glad that I get my Apple TV for free because of T-Mobile. So, you know, um, playing wise, um, I'm, I'm contemplating a full on bullshit. Island rework. Oh, we, when do we say Jason, we say like, Oh, give it time. Just give it time. Um, I have managed to find my way onto animal cross tick tock.
[00:58:45] And there's some really cool designs I've been seeing. Oh my God. What do you mean by find your way onto animal crossing tick tock? Yeah. I feel like the algorithm finds you. Yeah. Well, anyways, I'm on animal crossing. Take that. There's some, some really cool designs. I've given me some, some ideas and stuff that I want to do on my island. So nice. Um, I think this, this time it's going to be a, a three quarters full move. Okay. So just move the villagers. Potentially.
[00:59:15] No, not going to move my museum. I put a lot of work into my Smithsonian that, you know, it's, I'll probably modify it a little bit, you know, add some stuff onto it, but I'm not moving it. That thing's going to be, would be a monstrosity to move. Gotcha. Gotcha. How big it is. So, um, and then I started the campaign on star Wars battlefront two. Oh, wow. Oh, nice.
[00:59:41] I was jonesing for a star Wars game and I was like, you know what? Let's try it. Let's download it. See what it was about. Cause I, I used to play battlefront one, you know, and I just, it was okay. Um, you know, so, um, two, I picked up a long time ago for like 10 bucks on my sale, you know, and just never downloaded it. It was one of those, Hey, it's on sale. Let me go and put them in my catalog, you know, kind of like the kingdom hearts games, you know, they're, they're sitting in my. Yeah. I installed on my drive. I just haven't played them since I bought them.
[01:00:11] Um, it is, it's gorgeous. Um, you know, the combat is as you expect from a battlefront game, you know, so far, um, dig it to play, you know, shoot down X wings and a tie fighter. That's kind of fun. So, um, overall though it is, it is a gorgeous game though, you know, graphically and everything. Um, I'm having a little fun with it. Nice dude. No, I've definitely been in that.
[01:00:38] Star Wars, Star Wars mood to the point where, um, the movie posters at the movie theater. I think I'm going to go try and get the rest of the Star Wars posters. Oh yeah. Cool. You know, so it's, so that's kind of a ironic too. I, I actually, uh, in my days off, I rewatched Ahsoka. Nice. Yeah. I am actually going to go right from rebels into Ahsoka. I was just going to, uh, I was going to ask you that if you were going to do it.
[01:01:05] Cause, cause it aligns now, like the way they put the ending to the ending to rebels supposedly is the first shot in Ahsoka. Yeah. Oh, I didn't know that. Um, but yeah. So, uh, anyway, so ladies and gentlemen, you know, I want to thank you for crashing game night with us tonight. Um, you know, for those that lurked in chat and just hung out with us, those are going to be watching on the weekend as always. Thank you for hanging out with us. A lot. I'm going to give you some laughs.
[01:01:33] Hopefully we did that for you tonight, especially with everything, all the chaos going on in the world right now. I think we all need a little bit of, a little bit of laughter in our lives right now to kind of lighten the heart a little bit. Um, but with everything going on, um, please just be excellent to each other. That's right. All you nerds. Uh, I just want to, once again, I want to get low.
[01:01:58] I want to get a little low and get a little ominous here and just say, uh, be kind, be cool and do you. And I just want to say, uh, also if you see an opportunity to lend a helping hand, do so. Try to be and do better. Thank you. Oh my God, dude. We just had 50th anniversary SNL this weekend. And that just, that just gave me ladies man vibe right there.
[01:02:27] Thank you. Thank you, lady. Thank you so much lady. No, but yes, please everyone just be cool. Let's, let's keep it calm. Everyone. If you guys need to like Zen out or calm down, you know, do, do you, but also just be cool and, uh, yeah. And just try and do better and help out. Thank you guys. And be safe. J rock. J bone. The J man. Yeah. Whatever thing. No, I'm just going to do like last, last, last. I know. Right.
[01:02:58] Just so you get longer, longer. Um, no, it's just less ASMR. Hopefully everything, uh, you guys had a good balance. You know, it was just past, you know, hopefully it's black history month still. So, you know, shout outs. Be, be kind everywhere. Um, know some history, get some history and, you know, um, black lives matter. Um, everything like that.
[01:03:26] I just, I just want to say that, you know, it is already almost two months into the year and we've had quite a ride already. So, you know, just relax people. That's what we need to do. Just take a little bit of time. Just relax, go through it because we're having things go left and right.
[01:03:51] And half of them are, we can, we could be, we can be better at, you know, half of them. We can be better half of them. And, and the other half is just like, wow, just maybe it's mother's nature's way of saying, slow, slow down. It's the way you roll where I'm going to do it for you. Roll your roll, relax, you know? Yep. But anyways, it is that time of night. My man, my man, the law ski. It's so good saying that again, send us out like you do. Well, y'all, thank you for watching.
[01:04:21] Thanks for listening. Till next time. TTFN. It's out. Good night, everybody. Now it feels complete.
