So we have some stuff to talk about tonight, but I want to kick this off because we don't
[00:05:23] normally talk Xbox. Usually month. Yeah. Maybe. But they actually do something good. There's been, there was an article over at windows central that came out. I was talking about Microsoft is looking at potentially launching a handheld Xbox later this year. Why? Why? Looking similar to that of the raw galley.
[00:05:53] I'm kind of like a steam deck is what they're theorizing something along those lines. Um, real Jason, you say why, but they're, their whole mantra right now is pretty much play anywhere. Right. Literally like they're, they're looking at, you've got X cloud on your, you know, on your phones. You've got now if they have a handheld. So it, it kind of like, I kind of agree with their direction.
[00:06:19] Like I kind of, it kind of makes sense to me in regards to the, like the steam deck or the, um, whatever, uh, what was the other guy? Yeah. To stay within that, something to kind of stay in that avenue. Cause it's not so much there. I mean, they could have gone like maybe the switch route, having their own controllers, you know, go, you know, going their own custom controllers possibly, but, uh, something like that.
[00:06:48] But I think staying in that kind of lane. Um, I don't think so. Not even, I mean, I can, I kind of see why they would try it. I'm for trying to get into that market with our GRC, but not in the hardware aspect. Yeah. Give me a really good software aspect.
[00:07:12] So make game pass easier to launch and have a UI like steam does where they have for their TV. That's really a lot more guided toward using a controller or something like that. Give me more software from Microsoft. So instead of their hardware is just something hardware, put it towards more of the software and create more of a, uh, better like OS system or, or yeah, UI system. That's what I go for.
[00:07:40] No, this, this makes zero sense. Okay. I can, I see that. I can kind of see that. The other side of the equation is that potentially the rumoring it is that it will have access to the steam store. And it does not matter. Um, and whatnot, which to follow this up with, they've also, it's also leaked about their future console that could be launching as early as 2027.
[00:08:09] And that is going to be a, a console that is going to be closer to a PC and is going to have access to the storefronts of steam. And, um, what's the other one out there? Um, uh, epic games or epic games. Yeah. So they're going to have access to the epic game store and steam, which would therefore give them. PlayStation games on an Xbox.
[00:08:35] Since Mike or, you know, Microsoft is not putting games or Microsoft's not getting the games from PlayStation onto the Xbox. You know, they may be coming and bring in their games like fours and halo and, um, flight simulator, but they, uh, they're not getting it.
[00:08:52] So how do you feel about Microsoft doing a console that is now not only going to be Xbox game pass and their ecosystem, but also have access to epic game store and steam. All right. All right. I'll start it off. I'll start it off. Cause I need to backtrack just a second before, for that, that handheld one. It's the dumbest idea ever.
[00:09:19] I mean, like it's a waste of money, a waste of time, waste of resources. Just stop. I mean, like if you want to do something, put it in towards your console, put it in towards actual games that are for Xbox, you know, like that are going to be like, Hey, let's put that money into an actual. It's a real triple a game or an actual major title that everyone would love.
[00:09:41] And it's like, Hey, I actually want to get an Xbox for it rather than be like, Oh, here's a bunch of, Oh, we have these like new release games, new IPs. And we're trying something out now. We're going to have gears 32, you know, and for the 15, like you can only rely on them so much. It's like, it's the whole Marvel thing all over, man. Like, yeah, you shake your head. You shake your head, Jerry. Every week I will plug in that Marvel.
[00:10:08] But anyways, waste of resources, waste of time, waste of idea, waste of space. I mean, think about it. How many times has PlayStation done it and it still hasn't stuck? You know, and Xbox is going to try it. Well, hold on though. The PSP did stick. But it was when they went to the Vita and did a proprietary memory card is when they went off the handheld route.
[00:10:33] So now apparently the portal is doing well enough that they've updated it to where you can do cloud streaming now of your library to, to it. Like, so if you want to play, you know, got a war, you'll be able to do that. But I mean, we still haven't, we still haven't had like major, like breakouts or anything like that with it, you know? And then at the same time, it's like, you need to have those breakouts. You need to have a reason why I need to get it. I have zero interest of it just based on previous experience.
[00:11:01] You know, like I had a PSP, never got a Vita because, you know, the amount of PSP games that I did play or did have, they had great ideas. They had that little back thing. Oh no, that's the Vita. Like, you know, they had so many ideas and they had so many ways to utilize it, never did. And it's the same thing with Xbox. So it's a waste of time, waste of resources. Now, with that being said, why not just put that money that you're going to put in for that handheld into the console that you're going to try and put out?
[00:11:30] Like, wouldn't that make more sense? Huh? Well, I think for me is being that they're trying to break back into the Japanese market more like for the first time, right? Is Japanese market is very much a handheld market. Right. So if you're kind of looking at trying to, you know, you're already making deals with Square Enix to get Final Fantasies onto Xbox and stuff like that. Why not have a handheld that you can basically go here? You can enjoy.
[00:11:59] Xbox games, you can enjoy Steam and Epic Games Store, you know, on a handheld, take it with you to your point, though, Jason, I think. Going with a handheld against that of like the Steam Deck, the ROG Ally, the Asus, the Legion, whatever other ones are out there. I think it's I think you're right. You should have just put your money into the console that you're going to build. Put your money into something. I agree.
[00:12:28] I'm just I'm just kind of I'm just kind of deciding on the fact that they've already decided that they are going on the handheld route. Do I do I think that's like the best idea? No, I totally agree with you guys. I think put it more into your software, you know, invest more into Game Pass, Game Pass and make it, you know, more diverse. Like, yeah, put more into it, like making it a no ice or UI.
[00:12:56] Or if anything, put some money into games that are more appealing on mobile. Like it may be just my personal opinion, but I hate playing AAA games on a mobile screen like a tiny ass screen. I do not want to be playing Tomb Raider or Assassin's Creed or especially Call of Duty.
[00:13:19] Like I'm going to have the screen like inches from my face in order to see an enemy in order to shoot it if I'm doing Call of Duty on this ROG ally or whatever. And I would rather something that's more appealing, like games that we used to play on the Game Boy that were specifically made to take a good amount of space, but were geared towards that type of game style and play.
[00:13:45] Whereas everything that was AAA was like, okay, I need a bigger screen and that's fine. And I don't see any problem with that. So like put in some money and revitalize mobile gaming through games that are appealing to be in your hands. Yeah. There you go. Okay. Well said. I mean, if anything, like I said, if you want to make a new console, go for it all for it.
[00:14:10] But making that handheld would be a race of time if you are going to, if you are going to restrict what you're going to bring out on the new console and or if you're going to expand on it, which is going to be like revolutionary, honestly, if it does succeed. But it has to go through the trials and tribulations of, okay, what can we get out of Steam? What can we get out of Epic?
[00:14:36] Because, you know, they're going to, they're going to definitely like limit what they're going to be able to let out. Yeah. Otherwise, what's the point in Steam having their own Steam store or like having their own Epic store? Or having even Steam having their own handheld, right? Yeah, exactly. If you're going to just like, you're kind of, you're kind of succumbing to like, whatever they will, are willing to give you. And if that's going to be like, oh, games from like 2000. Yeah. You have some like retro feel.
[00:15:05] You're like, oh yeah, I get to play these again. But you know, you're not going to be able to play new games or you're going to play like Theo said, you're going to play these games that were designed to be cinematically like beautiful on big screens in this tiny box, you know, like this big. Yeah. Yeah. And I wonder how much battery life you're going to get out of it too, right? First, for some of those games that are designed to be like a Halo Infinite or force of, you know, horizon five gears, whatever. Right.
[00:15:35] That's going to take some horsepower. Yeah. You know, to power that thing. So it'll be interesting to see what happens. We haven't seen anybody dent Nintendo's, you know, lead with the handhelds and everything, even with the switch being like eight years old at this point.
[00:15:52] You know, we're, we're still selling a ton right now, even with a switch to coming out, which here in, you know, what, two weeks, April 2nd, three weeks, we're going to get the two direct. The switch has been around that long. Yeah. Right. Yeah, I would. I definitely would have to say. I think it's it's most Nintendo's most successful. I.
[00:16:20] I, uh, not quite yet. No, I think we was still the most successful. Really? I think it's the DS was no DS DS. Yes. Yes. Cause I mean, like surpass DS. Maybe, maybe not. I don't think it will because the DS for its time was just.
[00:16:40] But I would still kind of go back to my point that I feel like Nintendo with their games that they've released for the switch have been made in mind with a smaller screen. Um, done in handheld. Let's go dive into the, I mean, we'll go dive into the theater and look at this really quick for moving into the next stuff. But case in point, I, you know what it make because as of.
[00:17:10] End of January. So we haven't even seen this quarter yet in terms of sales. So as of sorry, end of December. So as of the end of last year, it was 150.86 million units of the switch had been sold. Um, the DS in its lifetime, 154.02. So it's, it's 3 million away, you know, three and a half million away from breaking the DS and how much it sold.
[00:17:40] Yeah. The fact is still selling as much as it is at eight years old, you know, is pretty impressive. I mean, like people still get DS and DS games just because of how great it is. It's, it's so, it's about the same size as a phone, you know, and you can play games on it. You can have different games. You can have all these, the cartridges are still small.
[00:18:07] You know, they're the ones that created that little SD kind of card cartridge. And, you know, like it's very easy to carry around. I mean, you're not going to be wasting it, but I mean, you're at the same time, you're at the, you have such revolutionary thing in your hand. You can use it as a stylus. You can use it as a notepad. You can use it as, you know, note taking, um, brain age, uh, so many things you can do with the DS.
[00:18:35] I mean, if you're going to be for one game, like games alone, then yeah, you're going to have the switch and then you can carry the switch around. That's not that much larger. It's still smaller than a laptop. And you can carry that thing around and you can have fun with that too. Right. And you have automatic two player with the switch auto two player. So I think it's a, I want to say, I wish Microsoft luck, you know, with an Xbox handheld.
[00:19:03] I think the market at this point is kind of saturated with how many different handhelds there are for everybody's different storefronts and everything. And I, I think you'll probably have some people buy it. Like you had some people buy the portal for PlayStation. I don't think it's going to necessarily. There, there are the, the diehard fans are like the, the most dedicated ones that'll, that'll most definitely buy it.
[00:19:27] I think, I think if Microsoft wants any hope of doing good with it, they need to take a page out of Nintendo's book and make the controls detachable like the switch. I feel like from what it looks like, it's going to be a solid unibody. I feel like that's the biggest thing that sets it apart between the other ones, because at least with that flexibility, you have more range for your comfort in your setup when you're doing mobile.
[00:19:53] Cause like you can detach, you can prop the screen up and, and just kind of lean back and do whatever. Or, and like Jason said, it's an auto two player is like, it just has that versatility and that's what still sets it apart from everything else. Mm-hmm. Okay. Now, um, speaking of kind of Nintendo world, before we get into some PlayStation stuff, this was announced. Oh yeah. Oh God. Yeah. The teaser trailer was riveting.
[00:20:22] Um, I don't know if that was sarcasm or not. You didn't put up your sarcasm sign. This is the trailer. Half sarcasm. Half sarcasm. This is the teaser trailer. That's it. Cool. But also like, woo. I'm all right. I'm not 50, 50.
[00:20:48] Like it's cool, but also like, uh, okay. Yeah. Right. You know what I mean? Yeah. Like it would have, it would have been nice to like, see at least one like debut, like one kind of like, Hey, this is what to look forward to, but okay. It's a teaser. So it does look like you're going to get Lego and mega blocks doing them. Maybe. Okay. Which is weird, right? That's weird.
[00:21:17] That's rather weird, but that was in 2022. That's the closest thing I can find for it. So, Oh, okay. Maybe they might've lost it. Like maybe, I mean, for it to be, you know, Lego getting Pokemon. Um, now here's, here's my thing is I look at this tail, right? And it already looks kind of cheesy, you know, the way it's built.
[00:21:43] Um, I, I hope they come out with some better sets and we do not go the route of like animal crossing sets. No, I think because I'm not impressed. I'm not impressed with the animal crossing sets. And I mean, I don't know. I think with this kind of license, they're going to go like full board. Like they had their, their research team, you know? Mm-hmm. Yeah.
[00:22:10] Uh, this might just be for the tape for the teaser or like, yeah, the, the little package ones that you can make, but, uh, but I will say they have plans for this, but, uh, yeah, this is big. I'd, I'd rather get Pokemon Legos any day of the week than the mega blocks. Mega blocks trying to put those things together are a pain in the ass.
[00:22:34] And I know this because my kids have mega block Pokemon sets and I, I can't stand them. Like you have to put those pieces together just right to get them to link to lock in. Um, the way they design stuff is just convoluted. It's a little bit harder for kids to even put them together. So, um, just the fact is Lego is a win-win, but you know, my, my kids are already moving on from Mario Legos and wanting to star Wars Legos now. Sweet.
[00:23:05] So, um, real quick, I'm going to take the opportunity while we're talking about Lego, um, to do a collector's corner really quick. Cause they did a thing on Friday. What'd you do? What did you get? Um, hold on. Let me stop sharing so we can show this, uh, properly.
[00:23:30] Um, because I did drop a, I did, I did do a thing. Oh man. Oh yeah. Yeah. You already showed me, you got it, but yeah. That's cool. Holy crap. I like that. I like the minis right next to it. Oh, the little mini starter story. Yeah. It's super cool. Yeah.
[00:23:53] So it's got all the engines and everything like this one, unlike the home one that I showed it off last time, this one doesn't have anything hidden inside of it. Oh, okay. No hidden, like anything. It's just Easter eggs or anything. Like it's just the ship. Correct. That's cool. So, so far the only one that's an Easter that has Easter eggs in it is the, uh, home one.
[00:24:20] Um, and the other cool thing, unlike the other ones that has the 25th anniversary of Lego with it. So home one and the invisible hand came with this little thing to put with it. That's just 25 years of, uh, Lego star Wars. The executor came with this 40 year anniversary return of the Jedi. That's pretty cool. Instead.
[00:24:48] So that is a super cool. Um, it wasn't terrible to put together like home one. Home one is a little bit more complicated than this one. Um, but like, this is like just two pieces kind of assembled together and put together and just locked in place. Um, it took longer to put the middle of the ship together than the actual side pieces.
[00:25:14] So I think I was into bag three within like 15 minutes, 20 minutes. Wow. Wow. And then, and then it took till like another half hour to do bags four and five. Oh, geez. Because there were five bag. Oh, they were six. It's six bags. Oh, so. Um, every single one of these has been five bags for the ship. And then you've got one bag for your stand. Uh, okay.
[00:25:44] So, yeah, so that means I've only got two in the starship collection left the adjudicator assault class. Um, or just the assault class rather, um, frigate and the millennium Falcon. And then there's also a death star that they did. I'm going to have to track down and probably buy on eBay though. It's a little small, small thing. It's not like a big one, like the, uh, UCS death star.
[00:26:10] So, man, you gotta take a picture and show me all the, uh, ones that you have, man. Yeah. I'll take you a, a, take a picture of them. Um, I've already told, uh, the code dog that, um, once we get, you know, some room for it that the X-Wing I have, which was actually his birthday present like two years ago when he wasn't in the Star Wars Legos, that'll go to him.
[00:26:35] Um, and that may be nice to say, you know, to the young one to basically give him the, the tie bomber that I have. And then just start going for the other stuff. Like, cause I would much rather have the UCS, I intercept her on a shelf. Um, but let them play with the ones that have like the mini figures and stuff with it, you know, and actually enjoy, enjoy the Legos because otherwise this is all just display stuff for me. Right.
[00:27:01] You know, but yeah, it's, uh, yeah, Jay, I'll send you a picture of the starship. So it should be just cause like, you know, you have a lot of them and I'm like, yeah, like it's yeah. It's the four of them all lined up together. Plus the, the peg bag for the millennium Falcon and the tie interceptor. So, but yeah. So let's, let's jump into, uh, Jerry's world, so to speak.
[00:27:29] And let's talk a little hell divers. Yeah. Yeah. Hell divers is getting new. We're back baby. Oh yeah. I already saw it comes out, uh, comes out on Thursday. It is a borderline justice war bond. Uh, they're kind of going with a wild west theme for this one. Um, they're, they call it bring managed democracy to the galactic frontier. Yeah.
[00:27:57] Um, you know, so you're getting, uh, different armor and stuff now that you can get, uh, it is coming with, uh, the LA S 58 Talon revolver. Super cool. It's an energy based secondary gun that looks like a Smith and Wesson from the old wild west. Dope. You're getting dynamite. So funny. Which is, that's just hilarious, right?
[00:28:26] You're, you're going to get dynamite with it. Um, how many times are you gonna blow yourself up? Huh? Or all of us. Right. I can see if I was playing this, I could see myself, um, just planting it right at Jerry's feet and running away. You're so stupid. Unless it's sticky and you would plant it on him. Ooh, that's so mean. Don't forget the mannequin arm. Just, you know, it's just another extension of the combat knife. The mannequin arm, you know?
[00:28:56] Um, but yeah, according to this, it's like, it leaves an explosion explosion that sure to straighten the curves, flatten the hills and take down any roaming patrols among the willows. Jesus. Wow. Yeah, they're, they're really hitting it. They're hitting it on theme. I love it. Yeah. Um, that's funny. And then you're getting, um, the lift eight 60 hover pack. Uh, so that's cool.
[00:29:25] And according to this, uh, joint starts jumping, you can rise and hover for a little while and still aim or use ADS. Aim down sights. So. That's pretty good. Uh, you're also getting, it's the, uh, GS 17 frontier Marshall. Uh, it's regulation standard medium hell diver set.
[00:29:50] Uh, and then there's also the GS 66 lawmaker heavy armor. Oh, she's got a holster in the, the leggings and whatnot. Uh, they've got, uh, the way of the bandolier cape as well.
[00:30:17] They certainly don't disappoint with the war bands. Like there's certainly when there's a theme, they're heavy on the theme and it's awesome. Uh, so they basically, it says, uh, no matter which look you choose, you'll be mighty good with a gunslinger armor passive, which gives you secondary increased reload speed, increase draw. I do like that during reduced recoil. Um, you'll also unlock a new player title called super sheriff.
[00:30:46] Um, I love how they, you know, quote tombstone saying, you know, be their huckleberry. Uh, I mean, they're really going at it. So here's a, the premium. So you've got your armor sets. You get the primary weapon, which is an R six, uh, dead eye, uh, which is like an, an old style, uh, you know, rifle.
[00:31:13] Um, think, uh, for anyone that's seen it, think of kinda, uh, Doc Brown's rifle in back to the future three. Um, use back to the future three instead of like another, like there, there are so many Westerns. Well, you know what? That's so good. No, I'm, I applaud that. That is just, that is you. I love that. Well, I already did a tombstone reference. So what do you want me to call it?
[00:31:41] Wyatt Earp, which was a poor man's tombstone. Oh, okay. Then be fighting the words shots fired. Nice. Nice. Okay. If I have a choice between Wyatt Earp and tombstone, I'm going to go with tombstone all day. Absolutely. Tombstone. Oh yeah. Yeah. Um, so you're getting a sample, uh, extricator. You're getting, you know, like we mentioned the dynamite, which is throwable. You're getting player banners. So Reaper bounties and covering fire.
[00:32:11] Uh, you're getting capes. So Reaper bounties and covering fire capes. Uh, you're getting a tip of the hat emote. At a player title called super sheriff. That's actually pretty awesome. I like the tip of the hat. That is dope. So overall, you know, this, it looks fun. You know, I know Jerry, you, you rave about hell divers. I'm back in it too. I'm back in it. Are you back in it? Oh, back in it, baby. Oh no. We got vehicles.
[00:32:42] We're, we're, we're now in urban areas like cities. It's awesome. And only the new enemies are cool. The only thing it's missing for Jerry is fishing. Oh no, not enough time. I don't think it necessarily has to be fishing. I think it needs to be collecting skins and parts. You do have to collect certain, um, certain, uh, samples that help you upgrade your ship.
[00:33:10] I feel like that must be pretty limited. I feel like you need, I think you're, you're that itch that you're needing is just a vast amount of collectibles. Yeah. That's why it's totally different in, in, in this game. Like when you're on a mission, you're timed. You kind of have to plan your route and complete the mission in order to, uh, get your points and extract with the samples that you find. You don't get to roam. Yeah.
[00:33:39] I mean, you can roam for a little bit, but it has to be on like point of your mission. Like you can explore, but like, wow, you're on route. Mm-hmm. And defending yourself too. [00:39:47] right um you're getting dark odyssey breastplate dark odyssey bracers and odyssey belt which you can see that he's wearing here along with the appearance um along with it you're getting the dark odyssey vestment for atreus and the witch frock for freya which we looks badass yeah especially on freya

[00:54:44] and then i've gotten back into reading the solo leveling manhwa uh so i just finished season two is epic i just finished juju island which is supposed to be the finale for season two and season finale is a two episode uh release so it's going to be an hour gnarly okay and that should be the that should be the next two episodes because it's so good yeah it is really good but
[00:55:12] but they cut out a lot oh really from the manhwa so there's like some good there's it's like it's good climaxes or good build up but it's not i feel like it's not necessary but it does diminish it a little bit jay what were you gonna say no let's say uh just a heads up season three house and boy line bro when is it i think it's uh it's supposed to be later this year yeah so

[00:57:07] to fix some of the bugs there were a lot of patches but uh i will say the final like the final um uh heist deal uh-huh was uh kind of lackluster i mean it was really just you kind of went through the motions of the heist and it was more towards the story i was kind of hoping like i don't know i was just hoping for for like a heist it really was just
[00:57:37] story so that was the only thing um i mean it was epic it's it but uh yeah i'm done uh i finished that up so i'm yeah heist i kind of like want oceans 11 type of deal going on something like that like something creative yeah yeah yeah you know uh code breaking like splicing or something like within the story but no we we did like one or two things we met at the vault we opened the vault and then uh
[00:58:06] the story went you know more deep into like the betrayal and all that and uh you know you're you're back to shooting and ducking i was just hoping for a little bit more on the heist into it but otherwise um yeah it i finished it it was it wasn't bad i would definitely recommend um it was a fun game i would say on sale yeah um but it but definitely like
[00:58:36] dive into it because it is a fun game and there's there is a lot to do um and yeah i think that was it yeah and like i said i'm gonna start uh where i left off in last of us 2 and finish that i did not touch animal crossing this week star wars outlaws is currently on sale on steam for their spring spring sale for 50% off sweet i wonder what it's on playstation um yeah no none of the animal crossing aren't you
[00:59:06] like doing a big move or something no i i i've gotten caught up in other things so um pray tell i i finished mass effect 3 oh sweet okay uh no losses oh no i had everything ready to go nice like you know had everybody from the other you know from mass effect 2 come back you know you know that was still alive and whatnot
[00:59:36] and um i'm interested to see because rumor is that the new mass effect that they're working on they're actually going to canonize the ending to 3 and i'm curious which one they went with because for me i went with the option to kill all synthetic life which killed the reapers completely oh that's right um you have the other the other options are you can mind control them and make them yours
[01:00:06] or you can have uh the synthetics and humankind merge into a new a new existence type of a thing you know but i decided no fuck the reapers you've made my life a living hell no you all die um yep and i turned around and instead of going in the last of us 2 which i i really probably should have uh i started andromeda oh nice i'm actually gonna give it a full run
[01:00:36] and and whatnot so you have to let me know how it is it's okay um it's got a little bit of a destiny feel to it you know and how your players move with the jump pack and stuff like that um you actually get can jump and go airborne you know with a jump pack now and whatnot so um it's a little different um you know it looks gorgeous moving between systems and whatnot but um it's alright so far you know i'm still
[01:01:05] in the beginning stages i'm on the first real you know sorry the first planet you land on after getting the tempest which is your actual like scout starship that's similar to the normandy um it tries to be the normandy but it's it's not it's not the sr2 so um and then playing star trek legends they actually i didn't know this but they released it onto console um prior it had only been an apple arcade exclusive game so
[01:01:34] i picked it up it was cheap it was like eight bucks on sale i was like yes i enjoyed it enough on apple arcade i'll i'll pick it all up and i'm a star trainer so anyways oh that's and then mtg arena i started playing brawl which is kind of like commander on it i'm also getting back into that as well we'll need to play anyways uh so to everyone that kind of crashed in tonight yeah i think for joining us tonight hopefully we gave you a little bit of laughs and whatnot so you know as things continue
