Episode 325 - Gears, Xbox Price Increases, And Playstation Plus For May

On this episode of the podcast we discuss the forthcoming launch of Gears Of War Reloaded, the Xbox price increases, and the Playstation Plus games for May.

[00:00:07] And with that I want to welcome everybody to another episode of Crashing Game Night, Episode 325 and we got a lot to talk about tonight. My name is Matt Gioreo, your host as always, joined by the beanie one, Gerard Barrera.

[00:00:27] How's it going my nerds? How's everybody doing? It's another week, another start of a new month. How's it going? What's up? And we have our maitre d' of services, the man with the couch. The man, the myth, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Bellidio.

[00:00:51] How's it going guys? How's it going? What's up homie? What's up bro? Dude, you know what I forgot last week? What? I forgot to wish y'all May the 4th be with you last week. I know. May the 4th be with you. It was so sad because it was perfect timing because they would have come out exactly that day. I'll help you with that. Hey, happy Revenge of the Sith day. Revenge of the 6th.

[00:01:19] Anyways. Speaking of which, I understand you did take your son to go see the movie, right? Yeah. So did you guys hear about the news about how much it's made so far? It's made almost, I guess almost a half a billion? Not in theaters anymore and that's pretty impressive. Or what? Yeah. Yeah. So I guess, I guess because of the results, I guess there's talks about it going, maybe getting an extension. I'll go give them more money.

[00:01:49] I'm totally, I need some more time to go see it. So I would love to, to go see it in theaters again. But yeah, dude, apparently it's doing very well. Feels like a cash grab at that point, you know. Here's... Well hell, dude. Here's my money. Disney needs it. Uh, uh, uh, well, especially now, cause we'll talk about a little something here in a minute. But, um, let's just get into it. Cause we've got a lot, a lot to talk about tonight.

[00:02:19] Um, hopefully we'll kind of give everybody a preview. We've got some PlayStation plus games to talk about Gears of War, Xbox prices and some stuff hitting Hollywood. What are you, what are you babbling on about? A new trailer came out today. You didn't know that? Oh, for a, for a game that got, hold on, hold on for a game that got delayed until 2026.

[00:02:44] So that, that's, you know, calling the kettle black, um, coming from someone who's gets so excited for a game that's going to come out. And you know what you, you abruptly stop the podcast and like, um, I will happily wait. So yeah, so will I. So I think, well, no, for me, what was kind of dickish about the whole thing, right?

[00:03:12] Is they put out this whole thing that, Hey, I'm sorry, we're going to delay this for a year. And then turned around and said, here's a trailer for it. It's like, I mean, like, it's like, it's like, it's like that guy. I agree. Like timing a little sus. Come on. It's like that episode of a full serious statement. Yeah. And, and you know, rightfully so the fandom is that huge.

[00:03:42] We get it. Okay. An official statement really the next day. Oh, oh, check out the new. Trailer. Come on. Like you couldn't have like, Oh, but you know, to entice you, here's an announcement. We're going to, we're going to put out the trip. Nothing. No, they just put it out. Come on. Like, okay.

[00:04:06] That, I mean, that, that does kind of hurt, but especially like I'm a huge fan. And then dude, I've already, I've watched it three times. And I think I, the reason I've watched it three times is because I know it got delayed a year. Let's. At least you know, it's in progress. Yeah. At least you know it's in progress. Yeah. You know, it's in the works. And I'm fine with the delay. There is a, a, a, a projected date, you know.

[00:04:36] Yeah. Because I don't know, like, I know Matt's going to pull something up. I don't know what he's going to pull up, but I mean, there's some square, square news as well. Yeah. We'll talk about that. Cause that, you know, you know what that's doing to me. Oh, I know. I know. Uh, what's, you know, what's square news. You know, hold on. Oh, we'll, we'll talk about it first. We'll get to it. It's a lot. So that's what we're just getting done. So we're just going off the rails right now because this, I wasn't even planning on talking about GTA because whatever.

[00:05:05] Anyways, here's the official statement. I'm talking about GTA cause Jay's going to be like, here's the official statement from Rockstar. Rockstar. Grand Theft Auto six is now coming May 26th of 2026. We are very sorry that this is later than you expected. The interest and excitement surrounding a new Grand Theft Auto has been truly humbling for our entire team. We want to thank you for your support and your patience as we work to finish the game.

[00:05:30] With every game we have released, the goal has always been to try and exceed your expectations and Grand Theft Auto six is no exception. We hope you understand that we need this extra time to deliver at the level of quality you expect and deserve. We look forward to sharing more information with you soon. Sincerely, Rockstar Games. Otherwise known as, hey, we're going to charge you $100 for this game. Anyways, fine. No, that's the joke.

[00:05:58] That's the running joke right now is that, you know, now that Microsoft is going to up their prices on their games to 80, that Grand Theft Auto is going to launch next year at 90 or $100. No way. I hate to say this. I think the fan base is ravenous enough for this that they would pay it. No.

[00:06:22] The fan base is so smart that they're going to see it and they're going to pretty much emulate that thing. They're not even going to get close to it. Hold on. Let's ask our resident GTA fan. Jerry, would you pay $90 or $100 for Grand Theft Auto? I don't know, dude. There are some hardcore fans. And not to mention, the money that could be made online because you can start your own private servers. No, I think people will pay it.

[00:06:53] Or I think a good opening number, a strong opening number would pay it. Yeah, and you might too. But like that's, that's purely like I'm coming from a fandom where like I will pay it because I want to play it that bad. I'm also saying I think there is a dedicated fan base, financially driven and also fan driven.

[00:07:22] Now to the point that I think a strong portion will pay for it day one. If that happens to that price point. Now I am. This looks gorgeous. It really does. Oh, but that's, that's the thing about Rockstar dude. And that's also why you want to watch it multiple times.

[00:07:45] You have to see like everything that's happening are the are possible things that you can do within the world like go and like actually purchase something and carry it out. You know, the working out is coming back. So you have to maintain your character. You can possibly you can do actual time. And that's the thing. Maybe you'll actually have to like do many things in jail and wait to get out.

[00:08:14] Like there's a lot to interpret from the from the trailers. That's why there's so covered. But I mean, like this is what Sims Sims Rockstar version, you know, I mean, yeah. Yeah, no joke to a heightened degree, but it's done so well, you know. So I, you know, though, like the fans have waited long enough. I guess at this point another year is not going to matter as much, you know.

[00:08:44] Yeah. I mean, dude, things come out. It takes yeah, freaking forever for certain games to come out. And you know, it took what Final Fantasy like nine years is the way that. And even during that time, GTA has still been in the sphere of like being spoken about. This is I mean, people still play GTA five religiously, you know. Oh, yeah. And and people are making money from that game.

[00:09:12] So I mean, you know, there is a heightened. I'm telling you, dude, the fact that you can start your private servers on that on that game now, I guess, like there's ways of making money about it. So that's why a lot of people are anticipating this next one. So, Jay, that's a that's a great segue. It is a great segue because you are you're bringing up a publisher that is near and dear to our hearts on this podcast.

[00:09:42] Bro. Um, which, uh, Zach says hi. A.k.a. Caleb. It's Texas. Um, and God, I might I'm going to be dumping some money at Fan Expo. God damn it, because this ties into it, right, is they announced that the live action or the sorry, the six people to play Superman that are alive right now.

[00:10:10] So Tom Welling, Brandon Routh, Tim Daly, the guy who did it for Justice, for Justice League, Dean Cain and Tyler Hocklin are all going to be at Denver Fan Expo. Wow. Tyler Hocklin, please. Just missing Cavill. Just missing the Cavill. Yeah. Um, whoa, dude, that's Hocklin. Hocklin is Sephiroth.

[00:10:39] So I'll be spending double the money there. Um, anyways, but I don't remember who it was that was being interviewed for it. Jay, you would probably remember the name. It's, uh, I don't remember the name directly, but it's one of the directors. It's actually, like, um, let's try and find the. Yeah, it's, it's all over. It's all over, dude. Um, right there. Oh yeah, here it is. Uh, Yuji Horii.

[00:11:09] Uh, during an interview at Comic-Con Naples, let it slip through his translator that, uh, Chrono Trigger remake is, is in the works. Oh. It's in the works. It's in the works. It's in the works. It's in the works. The translator looked at him. And then it's a full clip. Oh, wow. And then the translator looked at them and it was like, dude, are you serious? This is breaking news. This is crazy. Yes.

[00:11:37] And then everyone's like, what the hell is he talking about? Dude, I would honestly love to see that footage. The people, the people that were there. But to get the reactions of the hosts, like, wait a minute, wait a minute. Yeah. Well, the people that were there that understood Japanese were going nuts. Yes. Oh, yeah. But the ones that were, that weren't, the translator was like, dude, you can't say that. That's like, dude, like, it was just like an awestruck.

[00:12:07] And he's like, yo, this is going to be bad news. Hey, you guys don't say anything. You guys heard nothing right now. Oh, my God. I'm sure it was already out. Oh, it was, it was just chaos. Oh, my gosh. So let's level set this. Chrono Trigger came out in 1994. We've talked about this before on the podcast.

[00:12:31] Anybody new to the show hasn't heard us talk about this, but Chrono Trigger is my all time favorite game. Period and stop. Yes, I love Uncharted. Yes, I love Mass Effect as series and stuff like that. But as a singular game. Chrono Trigger is my favorite game of all time. Would you say that's up there with like Metroid? Metroid doesn't hold a can. No.

[00:13:00] If you haven't played Chrono Trigger, you should. Yes. But it is definitely like a top five game of all time. Of all time. It is the GOAT. Like, like, like it is a top five contender. Like, you know, Tetris would be up there because it's like revolutionary. Chrono Trigger is up there. Mario himself would be up there, you know, like, up with those kinds of grades. Let's just look at it. I mean, this at the time, right?

[00:13:29] And we can say this was absolutely the all star team for Square. At the time it was Squaresoft, right? Everybody will recognize this name. This is the game essentially that got me into Final Fantasy. Because I was actually, I actually watched my brother play. I never played it. But I watched, I watched my brother's entire playthrough and that's what got me interested in like, you know what, I'm going to try this one. This one seems cool.

[00:13:58] And it was Final Fantasy seven for PlayStation. So let's look at who worked on this game, right? Yeah. Takashi Tokita, right? But look at this. Kitase. I mean, enough said, right? Um, you know, uh, Matsui, you know, who's been playing. Part of Final Fantasy, you know, Aoki.

[00:14:24] Uh, you look at just coming down to, um, the composers. Nobuo Matsu. Like, Yoshinori Masuda. Like, some of these guys, these are legends. Those are big names now. These are absolute legends. This game came out in, you know. That's crazy. 94, 95, right?

[00:14:52] This game was one of the first games I ever played that had multiple endings, right? Your ending is dependent on who's in your party and where in time you go to fight. Yeah. The final battle. Because you could, you could beat the game in 10 minutes. And you could also beat the game in, like, 45 hours. 40, 60 hours. Literally.

[00:15:16] You can go to the first, no, you literally can go to the first, first boss fight 10 minutes into the, uh, 10 minutes into the game. And you can fight the final boss. It's, it's a hard battle. Oh, really? Yeah. For sure. But, you know, like. And, I mean, that is just, like, this game, like, if they, if they actually are remaking this. Jay, do you want it to get the, the final fantasy seven remake treatment?

[00:15:45] Or do you want to get it, it to get the, the 2.5 D treatment that. So a lot of the dragon quest games are. That's a good question. That's a good question. That's a good question. Yep.

[00:16:09] I, if, if they put it in that format, I would love to have in that format where it's completely animated. Um, that is not real people. Cause I, I do not want to see frog. I do not want to see gal. Uh, not gal, but, um, I do not want to see frog. Do not want to see Magnus. Like. No. The way that they look. Robo is going to look weird as hell too, because they're going to want to ultra futuristic him. Yeah.

[00:16:37] Um, could you imagine like you look at, you look at moral, right? Well, I mean, a lot of, a lot of Luca because like, even if you have IO, who's going to be like way back then, you know? Yeah. And you know, side by side with Robo, it's not going to make any sense. It's not going to make any sense. So I don't want it to be like lifelike where it's going to be very people esque.

[00:17:04] Um, it still needs to stay in like an animated anime type form. Yep. Maybe a dragon quest, but I would like to see the, like the, the 2.5 ish. Yeah. The 3d ish that they did for the, uh, the final fantasy is one through six, right? That 2.5 that's, you know, even that pixel remaster that had the 2.5 maybe. But what, but you would be satisfied with like a fully animated or, uh, animation. Yes, that's why I see it going.

[00:17:33] I don't want where to go. I don't want remake. I don't want it to be like. I don't want it to be like. You don't want them to be humanoid or set in real life looking real realistic. Not at all. Uh, I can understand with, with the, the, the type of like fantasy world it is. I would see like why the more of the animated side would, uh, I think better as well. Cause here's what I'm saying.

[00:17:57] Like if you do this as a real, like for I like, you have her and then have her stand with Robo. And it's going to be so awkward. Like having that, like, yeah, like here's a cyborg and here's a literal cave woman, you know, because you're a frog. You know, we go through so many different types of, uh, uh, different time travels, you know, as a base of the game.

[00:18:27] It's also going to make a strain on like trying to predict or trying to like, make those things look good, you know? Right. So, I mean, like you have, you have a good solid amount of the cast. That's going to be like normal-less, but you cannot like, it has to be animated. If you get, you might have like a Ni No Kuni. Could you imagine Chrono, like as a real person looking like that? Like, yeah.

[00:18:56] Like, I mean, like you can get a Ni No Kuni. That would be the best way I could see it. That's what, that's what I was kind of like leaning towards. Like the cartoon, like, um, cartoon, like almost anime-esque animated 3D. I can, I can deal with that, you know, maybe like a Pokemon type. That would be bad either. That would be the farthest I would see it, but I do want to keep it like animated because it is going to look good.

[00:19:23] For me, the biggest thing too, with all of this is they have to keep the original architecture of that game. It's impossible not to. Because, well, I mean, we've all talked about FF7 remake and how they're changing story and everything. They've made, you know, subtle, I mean, subtle to big differences. Yeah. Chrono, you go and basically say this is the story.

[00:19:49] You are going to really piss off that fan base. Because part of the, part of it is the fact is you can literally go wherever you want to in time with whoever you want to, to get your ending. Right. And I think they need to keep that. Give us the, whatever it was, what, 30 endings? I think it was something like that. It was a lot. Yeah.

[00:20:16] But, I mean, like, you just need to make sure that there is a, for sure, 90%. I can give, I can give side quests. Sorry, 13. It was 13 different endings. I can give, I can give side quests a lot of leeway because, you know, did the same way. Secondary characters, I don't know.

[00:20:45] I can't think of any off the top of my head or like, you know, it's been so long since I've played it. You know, any secondary characters, yes, you can have them be more active. I, since we do have a lot more space, game space, I would love to see a lot more digging deep into characters. You know, because like, absolutely. Like, Frog himself has such a unique and crazy backstory.

[00:21:15] I would love more of that. We don't get that much, we don't get that much like play time with him. Yeah. Technically. Same with Ayala. So, Ayala has such a crazy backstory. Being a cave woman and then finding out this Lavos, the Lavos, like, Wiped out her people. Being able, being able to time travel and then just get wiped out. And like, she's the last of her, like, people race, people. And I think the other, you talk about character design too, right?

[00:21:43] There's also, remember the race in the junkyard? Like, that guy you can't do as a real person. Yeah. Like, so, I really hope we get, like, I hope it is legit. I hope they do it right. Square Enix, take my fricking money. Here you go. I, whatever special edition they want to come out with. This one, sir, will you pay $100 for? Oh, I would.

[00:22:10] I'd pay $100, I'd pay $200 if they give me a special edition with like a statue or something with it. You know what I mean? Like, absolutely. If you're that dedicated fan base, you're going to pay for it. So, like, that's why I understand. Yeah. So, anyway, so let's talk, let's talk some PlayStation real quick. So, main games.

[00:22:33] We have Ark, Survival Ascended, Boltgun, and winner of multiple game awards across the multiple different game awards ceremonies, including, you know, the game awards, Bellatro. So, overall, not bad. Let's, overall, like, take away the awards that Bellatro made, like, that it got and whatnot. It's an okay month, you know?

[00:23:03] Ark, you don't really hear anything about, you don't hear anything about Boltgun. But I do know, though, that a ton of people have been messaging, you know, going, saying, hey, Bellatro, you got to go play it. You know? I'd say a decent month. Yeah. You guys can say that. Here's the thing. The last couple months have been decent. They've been very niche. They've been very, like, oh, like, here's something to try. Here's something new.

[00:23:30] These games are tried and tested, proven to be absolute bangers. You know? These are not, these are not like, oh, I'm gonna spend two hours on this game. You know, Ark has, is so amazing. You know, like, I'm excited to jump into it. But the last literal five hours of me right now has been playing Bellatro. Like, I literally have been almost playing for five hours.

[00:23:59] I just, I just added it to my library and sent it to download on my PS5. So I've been playing for five hours almost like give or take. That's took some breaks, you know, but that game. It's so simple, so easy, but it's just a ton of fun just because it's, it is a puzzle game. It's a puzzle game like no other. Bolt gun, first person shooter.

[00:24:25] I'm kind of staring, staring away from, but Ark. Ark will definitely, well, like this, this game. If you guys get it, will be the first game that all four of us can play together, bro. Ark? Ooh. That is, that is how big it is. It is like taking Horizon Zero Dawn. Okay. Adding, adding real life dinosaurs instead of robot dinosaurs.

[00:24:53] But they have robots dinosaurs too. But taking it to a full, like, you gotta go from the ground up horizon. Not like, not like, oh yeah, you get a bolt, you get, you get like, there's villages and stuff like that. Not easily from the ground up, bro. You gotta build your village. You gotta find, build your buildings. I mean like, to a certain degree, yeah. Okay. Huh. This could be the game that we all first play together, guys.

[00:25:23] I mean, it's been a while. Like, the last game we all played together was Monopoly. Yeah. That's true. Yeah. Just saying. Our yearly game. All right, Jay. I'll download it. I'll try it. I'm telling you, it's, it is, it is literally Horizon Zero Dawn. A little bit of, uh, the Sims because you have to build up. You know, yeah, it's like what, like a pal world, I guess, or. Mm.

[00:25:53] All right. So. Let's go, let's talk, let's flip over to the other side. Yeah. Because there was another. This, this month. Yeah. It's the start, it's the start of summer. It's a hot banger, you know, hot banger. Well, here's another one. Gears of War reloaded has been announced for August coming to Xbox series, PC, cloud gaming,

[00:26:21] steam and PlayStation five. The only last of the big franchises from Xbox, not to have anything show up on PlayStation is Halo at the moment, but it'll be launching August 26th. It'll be 40 bucks. I am on series.

[00:26:46] Um, you know, uh, you're getting 120 frames per second support, 4k resolution. Um, I didn't realize we're coming up on the 20th anniversary, you know, of it. It, it does look. It does look pretty. Mm hmm. So, uh, you know, $40. That's not bad. It's a good price point for it. You know?

[00:27:14] Yes, it is an older game, but there's a lot of people have yet to play it. So $40 is not a bad, bad thing. It does support two player co-op essentially for a remaster. Like, okay, that's I'll accept that price. That's not bad. Um, now also with this is you don't need a Microsoft account, but if you sign in with

[00:27:38] a Microsoft account, it unlocks full cross-platform functionality, cross progression, and you've got your, uh, your campaign and multiplayer carries across your devices. So, so overall 4k six frame per second, 120 frames per second, multiplayer, HDR, uh, Dolby Vision and Atmos support spatial audio VR, R for chaos.

[00:28:05] You know, it's zero, supposedly zero loading screens during the campaign. So that'll be interesting of that. That's awesome. Yeah. I'm excited for that. I'm down. Now let's get to the bad news with Xbox. Um, and this is, this goes even deeper as far as gaming goes.

[00:28:34] Um, we all know the, the tariffs here in the States. We've talked about it. It hit Nintendo with the switch to accessories. It's now not only hitting Xbox, but it's hitting Hollywood. Um, they're going to put a tariff now, a hundred percent tariff on all movies that are made that are foreign made.

[00:28:58] So that means any movie that is done by even a U S studio that is made in say, the Sahara, you know, or Europe, it's going to cost a hundred percent more to make it. So he wants the movies to be made in, in the U S I'm sorry. We're, we're, we're in the U S can you go make passion of the Christ? Right. Unless you do it on a big soundstage. Nevada in the middle of Nevada.

[00:29:28] I mean, not even. Right. But like some of those things, like you, we don't have some of that. Like, for instance, let's look at empire strikes back. You're not making Hoth in the U S without doing CGI because they film that on location, you know, but

[00:29:53] they would have to go back to old school ways of like, but like built like Hoth, Hoth would have to be built like in Nevada, but then it would also have to be shot at the, like exactly at winter. At a certain time where like, they can put snow there and like use the elements. Like it would be, yeah.

[00:30:16] But no particularly planned instead of like going to like, uh, uh, you know, a remote area, remote location where they can like bring the props and build the props there instead. Yeah. I mean, that just, that would complicate a lot just to get movies to be made exclusively just in America. Like that's the whole point of movies.

[00:30:40] Like you go to exotic places, you start off somewhere at home or, or come back, you know, but that's going to be tough. That's, that's, that's going to be really tough on movies. Yeah. I mean, think of movies like Uncharted, look at Tomb Raider, um, Indiana Jones, you know, some of those movies that require being on location in some of those places.

[00:31:06] Like you're not, yeah, you could build that on a stage, but it's not the same. It's not the same as actually going somewhere. But even something simple as, as like a rom-com. Like what if, uh, oh, I got to stop them from getting married. Oh, but it's a location wedding. It's, it's in Bali. It's in Paris. Or Paris. Yeah. Like, oh man. They gotta change. They gotta change it, bro. Now you're going to be like, oh dude, it's in New Jersey, bro. Yeah. It's in New Jersey. Oh, she's all the way.

[00:31:36] Okay. So that's a dude. We already had, I gotta go to Kansas, bro. We had Jersey girl. We don't need to go back. Yeah. Yeah. I love you, Kevin Smith, but Jersey girl, no. Anyway, so. Even something as simple as like rom-coms that don't, that really don't take a lot to make, are going to cost twice as much to make now. Yeah. Yeah. So the destination wedding is in, uh, is in, uh, Idaho, bro.

[00:32:03] You know, gotta take that, gotta take the attractors out into Montana. You know? Yeah. Oh man. Anyway, so. Hawaii is going to go, going to be insane with like location, like outdoor locations. Yeah. But they don't like a lot of people filming there though. Exactly. Like they're going to get bombarded. Like, uh, you're the only place that looks exotic. Like.

[00:32:31] I mean, they can't go to access to, they can't go to Puerto Rico because some people don't believe that's even a territory. The U S so anyways, um, but let's get back over to the Xbox side because Xbox announced they're raising prices across the board. So not only like we talked about the top of the show is that they're going to be charging $80 now for their first party games. Their hardware and accessories are all going up. You know?

[00:33:01] So you see in the chart, um, that the Xbox series S as we so lovely, like to call the speaker box, speaker box, speaker box, the 512 gig version used to be $300. It is now going to be $380.

[00:33:26] They just guaranteed the terabyte, the terabyte series S used to be 350. It's going to four, four 30. The Xbox series X all digital AKA the mini fridge is going from 450 to 550. The series X with the drive, this drive is going from 500 to 600. The two terabyte galaxy black edition series X, which is something Jerry, you were like, Hey, that looks really cool. I want to get it. Yeah.

[00:33:56] Going from $600 to $730. Not that, not for that much. Now. Holy crap. The, some of their controllers are staying the same, you know, as far as the core controllers, but their special edition controllers are going up to $80. Their limited edition controllers are going up to $90. Ugh. Their elite series two full on headset is going from 180 to 200.

[00:34:27] Their standard wireless headset is going from one net one 10 up to one 20. Now. The reason this is happening and everybody can sit there and say that Microsoft is greedy. Yes, it is a corporation there. They exist to make money is flat out. This is because of the tariffs.

[00:34:53] Because all of this on this list is made in China. Hmm. Currently China has a hundred and 40% tariff on it. Microsoft. And this is something that we I've, I've said before, go back and watch Ferris Bueller's day off because Ben Stein does a great presentation on how tariffs actually fricking work. The country that does the exporting of the goods does not pay them.

[00:35:22] It is the importer of said goods into the country that pays the tariff. And in this case, that company being Microsoft is passing on that increased cost to the consumer. They are not eating it. Whereas like Nintendo, they decided to eat the tariff on the consoles themselves for the Switch twos and raise the prices on the accessories. Because the accessories come out of China. This is, this is the first step.

[00:35:50] I think like PlayStation right now has a real decision to make because now you look at the price of a PS4 or PS5 pro. The series X is just as much now. So what are you? No brainer. Right.

[00:36:13] I honestly think though, because I looked, I looked at the PlayStation and the controllers and their accessories are all made in China as well. I don't, I do not see PlayStation eating the tariff. I think we are going to see the jump of, you know, 400 up to 500. Oh yeah. Oh, for the PlayStation accessories and the console. Yeah. I think so too.

[00:36:43] It's going to jump. I think it's a matter of time before they show their, their, their price changes as well. But yeah, absolutely. This is in just indirect result of the, of the tariffs. And unfortunately it sucks, but it, but also it sucks for Microsoft because I mean, they're not really, they, they, they don't really haven't been focusing on their sales on consoles

[00:37:10] as they have been promoting, you know, unifying their games to everyone and really promoting Game Pass, but it does suck because what sales they were getting for, for selling their consoles, you know, that is going to probably going to see a drop and that's unfortunate. So let's, let's look at this, right? Which, God, look at that addition, Jerry. It's pretty.

[00:37:40] Um, uh, we're still in the, yeah, hold on. I'm a coming. I'm a coming over. Um, there we go. Oh, I should have the wrong screen. God, I technology. Hmm. I blame this on the fact is I've had all of a combined four hours of sleep in the last 48 hours.

[00:38:09] So here we go. All right. So PlayStation direct, right? Let's go. Let's shop all the consoles. So right now you can get the PlayStation five bundle for $400. So if we bring, if we bring up our, our changes, right?

[00:38:40] For the same for $20 more than the price of a 512 gigabytes speaker box, you can get the PS five with Astro bot. You look at the, the pro. The pro is $600 with, um, with the, with the drive on it. Right?

[00:39:06] So now you look at that and compare it to this one. It's less, it's less than the two, the two gig galaxy black. Yep. So it, this is going to hurt. This is going to hurt Xbox.

[00:39:29] You know, they're already hurting on their console sales, but I think them moving to their, you know, play anywhere by having it on, you know, fire TVs and all of that. I think now this with the tariffs, they're in a better position, right? Because they're moving to an all digital model where all you have to do is sell the controller and the stick. And you play it on your TV. True. I mean, I, I also think, uh, PlayStation is going to feel it as well.

[00:39:59] Um, you know, gaming as a whole, I think, I think gaming industry as a whole as well, because, you know, this might drive people to be, uh, you know, a lot more selective on the games they want to try or even more, a lot, a lot more selective on the consoles. That, uh, they're considering to buy. Yeah. I mean, we'll see no offense to Xbox, but I ain't paying $400 for a speaker box.

[00:40:28] Nah, nah, bro. Nah, not going to happen. So not going to happen. So it'll be interesting to see where this goes with sales. We already know that, like I said, they're, they're not doing great on their sales, um, for a console specific, even though Microsoft wants to sit there and say, oh, we had the most pre-ordered games across the platforms. Yeah. Great. What? What? You're not selling your console, you know?

[00:40:58] So in the end it's, it's going to hurt. Um, but I think I would say this, I think PlayStation, if they're smart, you hold off about a month because these all these tariffs now are really on anything shipped in to the U S starting the first of the month.

[00:41:21] So you have your stock on the shelves right now at $400, sell it at $400. Then once you start getting your stuff in from China on the new stuff, at that point you raise it.

[00:41:36] So you give it a month, month or two, and you advertise the crap out of it that, Hey, for the same, for the same price as the speaker box, you can get a PS five and Astro and you can play gears of war.

[00:42:06] So there's a, it's a win, win sell your inventory. Now that you've already bought and brought in and then wait for, wait for it. Yeah. We'll see. We'll see what they do.

[00:42:25] So that being said, Jason, what you've been playing and what you've been watching, bro, uh, all day today, I've not stopped playing Bellagio. I think I've done, I think like maybe 10 runs through at least. Um, I've finished, um, a series called a shop for killers. Uh, it's on Hulu.

[00:42:53] It's actually, uh, it's actually really good. I liked the, uh, the, the story progression, you know, it's a very simple happens in one day, uh, kind of like a 24. Oh, sweet. Uh, but it's Korean and it's like, they go through all the backstories and stuff like that of a lot of the characters. So you get some insight. Uh, really interesting, really cool, really fun.

[00:43:18] Um, is it, it's like one of those small dramas that like, it's really interesting, really fun. And I, uh, I saw it and I was like, huh, good one. I shopped for killer. So I watched it in that. Um, other than that, nothing much. Just those two have been on, uh, I couldn't wait to download, uh, Bellagio today. I was like, I saw it. Yes, it is. It's on. That's okay. So what's Jake, let me ask you this. What's been your favorite part of Bellagio?

[00:43:49] You know, it's, it's the fact that one, there's a lot to unlock. There's a lot of different ways that you can play it. Yes. It's very, it's very simple. It's not very like, Oh, like I want to be able to beat it in one day, you know, on a one day. Okay. But it's, it's the fact that, you know, it's, there's a lot of stuff to unlock. So the squirrel in me is just enjoying that part. Um, are you going to go for the platinum?

[00:44:20] Probably. Uh, but, but I think the, the, the fun thing though, is that it's just, it's more of a puzzle game, a quick puzzle game because, you know, it's, you have to think on your feet. You know, there is, if you know how to count cards or if you know what things are about, you know, um, I forgot what the term is, but like when the, when something gets discarded, it's no longer going to be there.

[00:44:48] So you have to kind of like adjust your play style accordingly, you know, gamble a little bit. And then at the same time, you know, you have to make sure you calculate things correctly. Cause there have been one time that it's been a couple of times where I'm like short, like a couple thousand. I'm like, Oh dude, I was right there. What the heck? So. Okay. Okay. It's, it's some fun stuff. So I looked at any like guides or anything like that.

[00:45:14] Just having fun, enjoying it, getting my ass kicked here and there, you know, but all fun and fun. Nice. Nice. Matt, what about you? Have you been playing anything? Um, well, I did something the Rockies will never do. And that is when the world series. Oh man. You want it? You, you, you, you, you played the show and you took it all the way to the show.

[00:45:43] Well, grim archer, sir, the game that Jason was so eloquently discussing is Bellatro. It is one of those free games for the PlayStation plus this month for me. Yeah. The, if he had gotten off work on time, he would have understood it, sir. You did not understand your assignment. Bro. Um, no. So, um, I did finish out the world series.

[00:46:08] Uh, it ended up going seven games and it looked like I was on my way to another game. Another. Who did you play against Tampa Bay Rays? Oh, okay. Um, it looked like it was going to be one of those games that it was going to be a pitching duel. We each were getting runners on and, but locking things down. I got a runner on first stole second. So it was zero, zero bottom of the six.

[00:46:38] And the pitcher made a mistake. And I put that pitch over the, over the left field wall. And I already had my, my seventh and eighth inning guys already up in the pen ready to go. So it was lockdown city and cool. And I'm adding on an extra run, um, at the end as well. So, so yeah, I want it.

[00:47:06] Um, but like I said, it's nothing that the, uh, Rockies are going to do anytime soon because right now they are six and 28, uh, off to the worst start in the modern era. And they are projected to win all of 25 games this season. Which would break. How many games does baseball number they have? 162. That would break the record.

[00:47:33] It would break the record for most losses in a season. So, uh, you know, maybe I should be a big professional baseball player, bro. To the Colorado Rockies. Theo week. I got the gut for it. I got the gut for it, bro. You know, like Theo, I don't blame you for going to the home opener because they were going to suck this year anyways. So just sell the team Montforts. Just sell them. Get a real owner in there. That'll care about baseball in the mile high.

[00:48:03] Anyways. Um, so yeah, so there's that. Um, been playing, um, a lot of Metroid Dread. I've now gotten to the point where I've now stopped all the Emmys and can freely just explore now. Um, which is great. Been, um, been playing, uh, Star Trek Legends, which started off as a Apple Arcade exclusive for a while. Um, but they brought it out to PlayStation.

[00:48:34] Um, basically it's one of those games where you basically just pick from a bunch of different legends, you know, Captain Captain Janeway, Picard, Riker, War, you know, all the different characters. Um, and he's progressed through missions, you know, leveling up characters and whatnot. So, um, that's been fun. Uh, got back in the Star Wars Outlaws just a little bit. Oh, nice. I do want to finish it. Like, I want to actually finish the game and whatnot.

[00:49:04] Um, but it's been more just watching stuff lately. Um, so I am currently on a rewatch of Star Trek Enterprise. I'm almost done or I've started season two on that now. Um, I am actually going to be a solo leveling. No, I already binge watched season two on that one. Um, I already watched it. I need to buy it. I just need to buy it so I can just watch it whenever.

[00:49:34] Anyways. Yeah. Um, and then, uh, actually started watching Andor. I have not ever watched the series. Oh man, I need to, I need to start season two, but yeah. So I'm going through season one. It's kind of seeing, it's kind of cool seeing the birth of the rebellion and Mon Mothma kind of working behind the scenes. So I will say it may, you may feel that it starts off slow, but just keep in mind, like

[00:50:04] it's very like espionage driven. It's very like spy driven. Well, the first season real quick, Theo, you weren't here. So we could talk about destiny. I was going to hold that off. Oh my God. Yeah. But I saw the trailer for destiny that the, the new expansion. Yeah. So, um, amazing. I'm actually thinking about downloading destiny again and see if I can't get back into that. It looks cool, man.

[00:50:31] Just on the simple fact is I could run around looking like, you know, either Grievous or Kylo Ren. I don't know who the hunter is, but, um, yeah, I'm thinking about actually re downloading destiny and go try it again. See how I can see how it works for me. Um, Oh, hunter is Grievous. Okay. That's dope. So anyways. So yeah, there's, there's Andor and, uh, warlock is Vader.

[00:51:01] And then that means Titan is no warlock would wouldn't. I would think Kylo Ren and Vader. I thought Kylo Ren and Vader, Vader, Vader, that armor looked like Titan, but Theo is a resident on destiny. Oh yeah. So he's not here to talk about it anyways, but you know, I'm enjoying Andor though. So cool. Um, Jerry, what about you? Uh, let's see.

[00:51:29] Uh, speaking of rewatching, I, I did purchase, uh, the Castlevania series from Netflix. So I've been rewatching that. Um, uh, uh, I was current for a while on the rookie, but like, I, I think like six episodes have happened. So I'm, I'm binging that now I'm catching up on, on the rookie right now, but I'm pretty much current. And, uh, I don't know if I guys, if I updated you guys on the indie, but, uh, speaking of

[00:51:59] finishing games, finish that game to finished indie and it was awesome. Wow. Yeah. Wow. Woo. Cause it's so weird. Anyways. Uh, yeah, yeah. It's a short game. It's definitely a weekend game. You can get it done in a weekend. Hey, W is a W bro. Are we taking, so are we talking like when we're talking shortness on a game, right?

[00:52:28] Are we talking like the order 1866 short? Not that sure. That one was like guarantee 10 hours. I would say a bit longer because like you would get your, you would feel like you get your money's worth for a full weekend of game of that whole game. Mm-hmm based on the collectibles. I know you would collect and go for, um, it's worth it. I feel attacked, sir.

[00:52:57] I feel attacked by that because that's how you, that's how you play. That's how I play for the most part. Yeah. You to a degree, you will collect everything, which is why I think you'll get more of a, uh, like more of a bang for your buck type of deal. Yeah. Cause one, the story in the game already worth it. It's, it's that much fun. It is a, it is an Indiana Jones game full fledged.

[00:53:24] But I would also say the replay ability is also there too. So that's why I would also say like, I think you would thoroughly enjoy it, but based on how you play, it would take you a full weekend just based on like wanting to get all the collectibles and stuff. I would say, um, it took me like a, like all day, Friday and Saturday playing it throughout the day. And I finished the game.

[00:53:51] So I have to make an, a confession because of what Theo just tossed out in chat says. I would think the man that platinum, I believe all the uncharted would platinum Indiana Jones. I have not platinum the single uncharted game as much as I love that series. I've never done the platinums. Um, I know a couple of, uh, I, I think my, on my PS3, I did like one or two, but, and that thing is that's because I just love the game.

[00:54:20] Like, like part of it is you have to speed run it as a, well, the other, the other difference is that, that Indiana Jones is in full fledged first person. Yeah. That's another difference of, of like how you would play too. But, uh, but I still stand by how, how much fun it is. And I honestly do think you would get a real kick out of the game. Cause dude, um, Oh my God.

[00:54:48] Now, uh, uh, Troy Baker. Yeah. Oh, when, when Harrison Ford signs off on him as Troy, as Indiana Jones, but it's so different dude, when you play the game and actually experienced the, the, the performance dude, he, he does such a great job and it really helps like move the game into that atmosphere of like feeling like an Indiana Jones game. You really like, I don't know.

[00:55:17] I don't know about you, but I really got into it. It was so good. It really was to the point of the enjoyment that like, I wanted to push through and play, continue playing the game. Uh, cause it, it felt like the Indiana Jones world and, and like the characters. So, uh, I would definitely recommend it out there. Um, what else? Oh yeah. I've just been watching a couple of movies and, uh, I think, uh, righteous gemstones is officially

[00:55:47] over. Uh, the last episode was yesterday. So I, I finished that. That was awesome. And, uh, just catching up on some of my, uh, uh, comic book reading. Nice. Yeah. That's been about, it's been about it. It's about it, huh? Well, yeah. For everyone that, uh, crashed games, crashed, crashed game night tonight.

[00:56:15] God, this is what happens when I don't get fricking sleep. Seriously. Like I woke up at six o'clock my time on Monday. I worked other than taking my youngest to his T ball game for like an hour and a half. I worked solid and only had like two hour power nap twice last night. And then one, an hour, one today. So I'm going on two solid days of total five hours of sleep.

[00:56:45] Ouch. Not even solid sleep. So, Hey, but that's what happens when I have the job that I do. And I, you know, I can't complain though, because it supports my family. So, no, you know, it is what it is. But, uh, anyway, so for everyone that did crash game night tonight in our chat and they're just watching and lurking in behind the scenes, thank you for, uh, give us a chance tonight.

[00:57:10] Hopefully you, uh, got some laughs, learn some nonsense about what's going on with the Xbox pricing and whatnot, but, uh, with everything going on in the U S and around the world now too. And I want to, I want to put this out there, especially to those, um, that are in the Kashmir region of India and Pakistan, which that's looking pretty, pretty bad right now.

[00:57:38] Um, just please be excellent to each other. That's right. Everybody. Uh, same, uh, same old message. We want to extend to you all. Uh, you know, let's try to, uh, of course be yourselves. Let's just try and be a little bit more open, a little bit more patient. Um, let's try and be a little bit more conscious of, uh, the people around us.

[00:58:06] Uh, let's just try to do and, and be better. And, you know, when we see an opportunity to, to lend a hand or to help out, let's, uh, try and go get it out of our comfort zone and, and, uh, and help and, and, or, you know, it never hurts to ask a question or two and see if someone's okay. So, uh, you all be you, uh, and be safe out there.

[00:58:32] Uh, so I'm going to send it off to, uh, J rock, the bearded, the bearded lion, the lion's mane. Well, guys, you know, I missed out on the May the 4th. Uh, so hopefully you guys will. Oh yeah. And then maybe the 4th be with you. Yeah. Revenge of the 6th. So I missed out on that. Today is Revenge of the 6th. But, uh, anyways, um, I know you guys will be listening to this.

[00:58:59] If you guys don't catch it today on Revenge of the 6th day, it is definitely going to catch you guys on Mother's Day. So please, all you mothers out there, have a good Mother's Day on Sunday. Mm-hmm. You know, we'll, we'll see you out there. You, you give us life. So hopefully you have a good Mother's Day. Yep. So, um, my man, DDO's not here tonight. My man! I see you in the chat and I wish you were here inside to send us out.

[00:59:25] But I guess I'll have to throw it off to Jerry because Jerry, it's going to be a funny one. The moms need to laugh, you know. You do it to you. You send it out. All the pressure. You want to send it out. He's watching. He is critiquing. Blah, blah, blah. You know. Thanks, y'all. Thank you for watching. Thank you for listening. TTFN. That's all for now. God damn. Oh my God. That's not even TTFN.

[00:59:55] Like that's... Oh my God. Ta-ta for now. Yeah. See, zero out of ten. Zero out of ten. I want to pull an old man Biff right now. I wouldn't do me. No. I mean, at least get the acronym right. I'm doing it when you say it wrong. Nope. Make like a tree and leave. I'd do me. Make like a tree and leave. No. No. Because now it's even better when I don't even do it right. Good night, everybody. Yep. You got a zero out of ten.

[01:00:25] From the coverage. Oh, okay. Yeah, that counter. Oh. You know what? I'm going to do it right. All right. To all those listeners and watchers. Thank you for watching. Thank you for listening. TTFN. That's off for now. Good night, everybody.
