Episode 382 - Digital Only In A Cloud Based World?

On this episode of the podcast we take a look at the Playstation Plus games for August as well as the impacting outages to both Playstation and XBOX. With the move to all digital, these outages will become more impacting the further both companies move into the all digital frontier.

[00:00:08] Welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt Diario, your host as always. Tonight we're joined by the beanied one, the babyface Theowalski. Hey what's up yo, how you like my beanie? Very, very funny. I like it, I like it. Okay, okay. It deemed worthy because I am wearing a headband. Okay, okay.

[00:00:36] That's right, that's right. It wasn't even that, he shows up in a hoodie and I'm like, you gotta get the beanie, go get a beanie. That's right. Anyways, but we got the real, the real legit beanie done, Gerard Pereira. Hey what's up, I am, well it's appropriate because I'm not wearing a beanie. So how's it going nerds, another week? How's it going boys, it's a full crew, that's what I like. I like to see all my boys here and yeah, it's been a week.

[00:01:07] I'm, you know, it's been my day off but you know, it's been a week for some. And yeah, what's up? We'll get to that. And then, giving my sincerest apologies to our maitre d' of services because I messed up the rotation. He doesn't like it, he likes it going the normal flow but man with a couch, man, the myth, the legend, the lion's mane, Jason Belletio.

[00:01:28] How's it going guys? How's it going? The intro, it's okay, it's the outro. Like I will be a, I'll be a sour Sally if the outro got messed up. Sour Sally, I love that. Why are you setting him up for that? Like you just gave him the idea. I know, it's okay. I know, it's alright. Okay. Still here. Yeah. How's everybody doing, you know? What's up, what's up? I got pretty good Sally!

[00:01:57] No matter how, I gotta say is, no matter how bad my day was today for my first day back at work, nothing will beat the news that I got yesterday and today. Oh geez. So no, no, it's good stuff. It's actually really good. Hopefully that's what I was about to say, like hopefully it's good. Like, that was a little ambiguous. We didn't know where that was going.

[00:02:19] As we're recording this, it's Tuesday, so Monday. I had my echocardiogram. This was to now baseline everything for care with my cardiologist going forward. Now the surgery is done and everything. So yesterday I got the same tech who did my echo February 19th. Oh nice, okay. Okay.

[00:02:47] Um, he disclosed that during said echo, he saw just how bad my atrium and my valve were. Oh, okay. On, while he's doing the echo, which makes now, now I understand why he kind of had the screen angled away so I couldn't see shit. Um, so he was like, yeah, I just couldn't tell you because that's gotta come from the doctor, not a tech. I was like, fair enough. Right.

[00:03:16] So as we were kind of going through the test, um, he was showing me like how much smaller my atrium is, which is the top chamber of my heart, which is what was, um, really bad. Yeah. And the fact that the echo audibly could not pick up the heart murmur. Wow.

[00:03:37] Um, I got an email then this morning from my cardiologist that said that my, my, the, uh, mitral valve regurgitation, which is basically what was causing all the, the blood flow to go back through the valve up into the atrium, which was causing the atrium to be grossly enlarged.

[00:03:55] Um, and the valve being really bad shape, which if the valve failed, which they now knowing is could, could have been in as early as six months, the valve would completely failed. I wouldn't have started. I wouldn't have started. I probably wouldn't have survived it because the atrium was already large so badly. Um, but that is now so low that he said it, it's, it's a trivial amount of a little bit going back through the valve.

[00:04:26] Okay. Is that it's gone from a set four down to a set zero. Hey, nice. Okay. My atrium is now considered normal. It is borderline with slightly enlarged, but it's been coming all the way down. So it's gone from grossly enlarged to normal. Nice dude. Oh, good.

[00:04:51] So I officially get to move to once a year cardiology appointments and a once a year echo. Nice. It's not bad at all. All right, man. So it's fantastic news. He's ultra happy with everything and whatnot. And so, yeah.

[00:05:12] So trust me seeing yesterday when I, when he was doing the echo and actually seeing it and him talking through what he saw last time versus now, the emotions were there. The tears were there. And then today reading that email from my doctor, it was like, this is what all the hard work has been for. Nice. Congrats, dude. That's great. Yep. You know, that's like a, that's gotta be a huge weight off the shoulders. Partially. Yeah.

[00:05:42] I mean, I still have a huge weight off his chest. Well, as long as, as long as that weight is not more than a gallon of milk, we're good. Okay. Okay. I still have till the 20th of August for that piece. And then where I can be cleared to fly. And then I fully considered fully recovered. Not fully recovered. I'm still going to be like the, the bones fused at that point.

[00:06:11] I'll be able to fly because I'm not at risk for heart or for a blood clots or anything like that. Okay. I can lift more than a gallon of milk. I will still be in rehab. So once we get to eight 20 rehab can kick into another gear and we can start adding in the weight training and everything to start getting the upper body back to where it needs to be. Because you got to figure for three months, I'm not able to lift more than a gallon of milk.

[00:06:39] So the muscles are breaking down a little bit because I'm not using it for the weight. So, so I at least have another two months of rehab. Honestly, if they keep me in it longer, that's fine because I actually like going to rehab. Three days a week gives me something to do. I love everybody there. Um, you know, yeah, I could go to a gym and do the same stuff, but the difference is there. They know everything I've gone through. Yeah.

[00:07:06] And you're also being instructed and that's, that's a huge like instructed. They're watching everything. Like I have every session. I have a mobile EKG that is attached to me as is everybody else that's there and it's fed up to the nurses station. So they're watching everybody's, um, pulse rates and everything to make sure they're in targets and whatnot. So you can't get that at a gym. The gym is just going to be like, you go do your thing.

[00:07:32] Whereas with rehab, they're, they're, I mean, unless you're paying a trainer, but I mean, they're not going to monitor you like a medical facility, you know? So, so as long as my insurance company wants to keep paying for it, I will keep doing it. Yeah. Trainer will just tell you you're doing your stance wrong or something. Yeah. Um, before we get started, I do have one thing for collector's corner. Collector's corner. Hey, nice.

[00:08:03] Whoa. Okay. Okay. Is it, isn't that the, I feel like that's pretty close to the book that we got in LA comic con is not. So this is for X-Men 97. The one we did that we got at for OG X-Men. That was for OG. Oh, so where'd you find this one? Amazon. Oh, dope. Oh, okay, cool. It was on sale. What doesn't Amazon have? It was on sale for 20 bucks.

[00:08:32] So this is the one you're thinking of. Yeah, that's right. That's the, that, that is about the, the, uh, the formation and how the show got original. Right. Right. And that's all the behind the scenes of the OG, but that's, that one's about 97. Correct. This is strictly season one of 97. I won't see that. So. I'm going to look into that. That the Lee walls are there.

[00:09:00] I will have them sign this one as well. Sweet. That'll be cool. So. Um, which new episodes tonight too. Oh, that's right. How many episodes does that make now? Uh, they're on, uh, this will be number seven. Seven. Six was last week with, uh, whatnot. I'm not going to say anything because they do think, you know, people haven't watched the last episode.

[00:09:29] We should consider spoilers. Cause it's a, it's a current show. But last week's episode was amazing. I mean, I loved it. By the time it's posted for VOD. It's well over a week. I feel like there's not too many spoilers. Yeah. I don't know. But you know, there are other people that wait or like miss it. So there are people like Jerry that waited, you know, four weeks to watch the first three episodes. Okay.

[00:09:59] Yeah. That was tough. Okay. There, there was a backstory to that, but yeah, I did. I did have to wait for a little bit, but yeah. All right. So let's kick this off. Uh, Jason wasn't here last time when we did the, uh, the PSN games for the month. He is here. We can go over them. The games for August. So let's go into the theater.

[00:10:30] Dum, dum, dum. Um, the August games are going to be big walk dying late to and signal us. Jason says it all, dude. Don't think I know. No. Dying light two is only like, it's fun. It's definitely worth a try.

[00:11:00] It's a, you know, it's a game. It's a game. It's an adventure game. And, uh, you should get down. If you're curious, obviously you can try it. It's not bad. Yeah. But you kind of parkour, parkour, you know, that's what it's about to get to a little bit, just a little bit. So, I mean, it's a little, well, it's on its way. It might be a franchise. It's not.

[00:11:29] It may be on its way. It might. Might squeeze all night. Like I've been saying, I'm not looking. Like this, the lead up till November. I don't expect any of the games to be, uh, wow. You know, I don't expect, I don't expect any big things. Except for Big Walk.

[00:11:54] Big Walk is launching on the fourth right into PlayStation Plus. So the, so the artwork on this, like, I can't remember the movie, but do you guys remember there's a movie like, I want to say two or three years ago that it was, uh, it looked kind of like this. It had the real life and it was the animated thing, but it was a shell. Pixel? Not necessarily. I don't, not pixel. Pixel's the one with Adam Sandler, right? In the video. Yeah. That's pixels.

[00:12:24] Pixels. Yeah. Yeah. No, it was like this little shell thing that grew legs and walked around as that. This, this, what this artwork is reminding me of. I don't remember. It just reminds me of, uh, different unknowns from Pokemon. Yeah. Oh, that's fair too. With the big ass eyes. Looks like a simulation kind of game. Uh, you said how long ago?

[00:12:55] Uh, I, I, so it looks like it, I can, so Corey in this. Oh, it's Marcel the shell with shoes. Yes. Yeah. That, that's what it reminds me of. That was a game. No, it was a movie. Oh, okay. Oh, for, I always thought it was a short film. Yeah. I didn't. Oh, okay. No, it was a movie. Yeah. Just with how the film went. That's what it kind of reminds me of. Oh yeah. Totally. Uh, signalists.

[00:13:24] I haven't ever heard of this one. It looks interesting. No. Have same. Have never, have no idea what it is. Is it wrong? The name immediately makes me think that it belongs to a Verizon commercial. It was like, can you hear me now? Oh God. And with the two cell antennas behind her. That's right. Behind the character. Yeah. Behind the character. Awesome. Where's my phone?

[00:13:52] I mean, like, I just, I don't see any of like the PlayStation games to be wow until maybe after the new year. Yeah. I feel like. Well, I mean, I think September is pretty, pretty, uh, locked in, I think, but I think you're right. Uh, I think everybody's being cautious for November. Yeah. I mean, they should ramp it up a little bit.

[00:14:17] If they're getting rid of this, they should kind of make it more appealing to do some digital downloads from PlayStation plus. But I would also, well, I mean, I don't know how, how. They, they should put more just digital games, which I feel that they are right now with a lot of the indie stuff as well, like going throughout. And I also don't know how current these decisions are being made, especially with the currency,

[00:14:46] the current outlook on the company back. Yeah. Backlash going on right now. It got worse. I don't know. It got worse. Um, I did not hear that. Oh, oh, damn. We'll talk about that here in a second. We'll talk about that. Overall, Jason, I'm guessing what you're giving it a C or a D. Can you give me your patented, uh, eh? It's there. It's good. It's there. It's there.

[00:15:16] You know? It's a game. It's a game. You can play it if you want. You know? Yeah. There are options. There are options. But, I mean, like Theo was saying, yeah, I feel like they should start going to a lot more just digital, where you can't really get those games physically. Um, that would be a plus, because then you start building your own digital library. You start getting the hang of it. You get used to it. But, like I said before, I will stay. Actually, it's not a bad idea, Jay. That's a couple of things. It's not my idea. It's Theo's idea.

[00:15:47] But it's okay. You know? I'll take the credit. But, uh, but I will, I'll just say that. I mean, but still though. But that is a good effort here. To Theo, that is a really good idea. Just, just as a company direction to like help transition. That, that's also helping, helping, you know, your customer transition to like, hey, listen, we're, we're, this is being well thought out.

[00:16:12] We want to give you good, good to like really good options and get used to your digital library. Yeah. But that's not what's happening. Unfortunately. Of course. Other things are happening. We'll get there. Um, so. All right. This week is, and I will say this for September when it does come out. And you can call me on this again.

[00:16:35] It's going to be like a, maybe a B tiered game as the like headliner with two offset indies. And that's okay. But you're not going to have it where it's just going to be, I need to get this like major title out or a game that everybody's been playing before and have it ready for really right before GTA six. I mean, come on, let's, let's be real. Let's be real. GTA six is pretty much people are buying systems.

[00:17:04] People are getting all hype. They can find a system. No, even still like just the fact of being able to possibly a GTA six, you know, like I arguably the game of the decade, you know, it's, it's going to be, it's going to be generation. The hype, like the hype there is just too massive. It's just too massive. When you say generation, I mean, what do you, what do you want to do? Console generation.

[00:17:33] Human generation or console generation? No, console generation defining. Okay. Easily console generation, but I mean, I will even say it is literally going to be the game of the decade because everybody's been hyping it so much. The only way it will fail is if they have a cyberpunk like launch, they have a cyberpunk launch with a ton of, they went too big. Could you imagine? They went too big.

[00:18:03] The nuclear fallout. If that happened. Yeah. Like. Which would, which would, I think be bigger than, than we think. I think that would, I think that really would make the turn to like maybe over, maybe to relook the physical option again, but I don't think that's going to happen because we're

[00:18:28] talking about a, no, we're talking about a company that is very well known about. Uh, taking care and, and making the right decisions for their games. When it comes to delays, they do it because it makes sense and they need to do it. So even if there were any kind of glitches or like any kind of bugs, I would say that they

[00:18:57] would be either minor or, um, somewhat, uh, like very quickly fixable with a patch. Uh, uh, you know, and I think they'd be on it very soon. Online anyways too. I think it's just anything online play. Agreed. I also think most of that is going to be for the online platform. Yeah. The, I think the, uh, the story mode is, I think it's going to be fine initially, but there may be bugs here and there. You never know.

[00:19:26] You know, now that I think about project red level, that's pretty bad. I, I almost see that they may have issues because think about it, right. For online play. Do you really think they have the full on data center already built for this thing? Well, that's, that's why I think the story mode is, is the first thing that's going to be downloadable. I don't think online is going to be available day up, I think. Right. Uh, I think it's all day one.

[00:19:57] Oh, we'll have to see either way. Um, when it comes to online, I wouldn't be surprised, but there, there's not only going to be a high expectation, but there's also going to be a high level. Of, of players and people, uh, bombarding those servers. And I don't think, uh, whatever they can do, they're going to be ready for it. They, I think they're just going to have to adjust and, you know, this is where people

[00:20:26] have like 24 hours. Yeah. 24 hour delays, especially with the online 24 hours. Yeah. But I think, uh, the initial launch itself, I think it's going to go fine when it comes to like the story mode and all that, that would be my prediction. So I'm going to table this converse, the rest of this conversation for a second, since we're talking about online play. Well, there's other stuff that happened in the last couple of days that will tie directly

[00:20:55] into that conversation. Oh, yeah. You want a table? You want timeout then? Okay. I want to do on a few things, but it's okay. I'll save it. I'll save it. All right. No, Jacob. Do you want it a little bit, Jason? No. Okay. No. Okay. What Rockstar needs to do, and this, I'm going to honestly be quite honest. Let the man cook. All right. No, they have to, they have to take, uh, major MMOs, uh, like World of Warcraft, Final

[00:21:23] Fantasy, Elden, uh, what was it? Um, ESO, uh, no, not, not ESO, but, uh, RuneScape. Like those massive MMOs. Sure. Learn how do they, uh, like get rid of the bottlenecks. How do they manage their, yeah. Yeah. Cause the problem is that there's going to be a bottleneck somewhere in whatever it may be. Every game has it. Every game goes through it.

[00:21:52] There's a bottleneck. Like for example, when, uh, one of the first expansions of Final Fantasy 14 came out, the hardest boss in that first expansion was an NPC because there was thousands among thousands, like possibly close to like hundreds of thousands trying to answer one NPC. So the bottleneck was there. They, if, if, for those of you watching, you guys know Raul Bon, EX, you know, literally

[00:22:21] trying to talk to an NPC. It was the hardest boss in Final Fantasy for that time. And like I said, it's a bottleneck. So if, uh, Rockstar needs to find a way, then they see if there's any bottlenecks or if it's just going to be like just a mass amount of people dumping onto the server. And again, what you have to look at MMOs, how many thousands of people are on servers per second or per hour? You know, you got to look at that.

[00:22:50] I mean, again, we have two data people that are in the field that can understand that you're going to need a large, you can, you can downsize later, but the initial hit, the initial hit has to be able to withstand everything. So not necessarily is you, uh, cause like a prime example would end up being, um, destiny

[00:23:16] to like, especially on release days, they purposely put in a queue for, to help out with the servers as much as possible. So like usually, usually if you weren't on within like the first 20 minutes, you probably had about a two to three hour wait, which is not necessarily horrible in my opinion. The old days.

[00:23:46] So I can't, I kind of remember that too. I was like, Oh man. All right. So let's play into this whole thing because in the last week, actually not even that less like five days, there's been two massive outages that hit gaming. The first one was the 24. So four days ago, which was PlayStation network completely went down.

[00:24:16] Uh, they went, they went down because they run everything in Amazon web services and AWS had a massive outage that hit not just PlayStation, but other companies, anybody that was on AWS. Um, they had issues. So basically they had issues with your account management, your gaming, loading videos, going

[00:24:45] to the store, going to PlayStation direct, like all of their services were down. Um, which meant from a gaming perspective is that of course, any game that was reliant on online play, IE division two destiny, right? You weren't able to log in and play those games. The other part of it was if you share your, your games with another person.

[00:25:12] So where you made your console, the secondary, their console, the primary, so they could play your games and stuff like that. You as the person on the secondary console always have to log in and have your licenses checked. You could not do that, which the second part, like people were complaining about that, but I'm like, dude, you, you understood how that works when you did that. Yeah.

[00:25:39] It literally tells you when you go to set it up, that your console that is a secondary will always have to check in. You always have to have internet. It's like, it's like trying to say that you got mad that you weren't able to do online play while the network's out. Correct. Um, so it was reported, you know, that Amazon web services was the culprit started at 6 40

[00:26:08] AM and cascaded into everything. Um, and it was West two region, which is everything, which is in Oregon, but it covers the Western part of the U S. Um, because I'm in it and we do some of this infrastructure is that West twos usually also use as a backup. If East one is down, like they'll use it cross country to, and whatnot. Um, they didn't resolve it.

[00:26:37] And like later in the day, like it took a while, which, um, knowing what I do, they're like, what they said was they didn't fail over until the afternoon because AWS likes to try and fix their shit instead of failing over. Jesus. Yeah, that's, that's our response.

[00:27:04] Every time there's an AWS outage, um, usually it's the first course of action. So at least, you know, something works. Well, the problem is, is what, when you look at it, right, is AWS had to, uh, it's instance scope went from five affected services to seven. They had to add in global accelerators and elastic container services, which means that bottom line is they're probably going to find out that somebody did a stupid update in the middle

[00:27:32] of the day they weren't supposed to do, which is what always happens with them. So, um, along with this one, you had Xbox went down yesterday. Oh, really? Oh no. And this is where, this is down. Oh no. This is why I say, Hey, I was going to table that online conversation for a second because it plays right into this. No way.

[00:28:02] Is that probably their own web services versus. Oh God. You're going to laugh at this. Oh no. You are going to laugh at this. So they had accounts, store games, apps, like all of that was down. That's so bad. Right? That's so bad. I'm wrong. Their, their CTO, their chief technology officer, Scott Van Ville, or. All right. What's your clean up?

[00:28:31] He said earlier today, many players, and you can go see this right on his, his Twitter account, um, or X, whatever you want to call it. It's Twitter still. Um, earlier today, many players began experiencing issues with sign in enumerating their game libraries and playing games. The team has worked hard throughout the day to fix the issue. And we've restored services as of two 30 PM Pacific daylight time. Nonetheless, this is an unacceptable situation. We must do better to support you over the coming weeks.

[00:29:00] You'll hear more from me about our services, our platform and the work we're doing to make Xbox better. And that starts with some transparency about this incident, which I have to give him credit because. A lot of companies wouldn't do this. Um, but this is where Theo is going to laugh his ass off. Uh, what happened late last night, a licensing surface that sits outside of Xbox, but which Xbox depends upon began failing.

[00:29:25] This caused some sign in scenarios to fail and it caused more scenarios that required an entitlement check to also fail such as listing out your full library, launching games that you own. It also affected several of our publishing and store partners who depend on those same systems. Oh God. Which is why some of you saw issues in specific games and not others. So, you know, you know what this immediately puts in my mind is that the person in charge

[00:29:55] of like the entire server, like this is hypothetical. It's not real, but like one person put in their password wrong three times and had, and got locked out. That's what that equates to me for. You know, you know what I immediately see is a Homer sitting, sitting at his desk. Oh man.

[00:30:29] So here's what I also think Theo and you know, us in it, right. You and I go way back, right. To, you know, is that somebody let a certificate expire. That's immediately what I thought too, but this is going to be, honestly, this is in the Azure environment. So like it could have been a DNS thing, but anyway, so he's like, this is, he's like what we did. Our on-call team caught the first signals overnight through automated monitoring and declared a major incident.

[00:30:58] Once we isolated the failing infrastructure, we shifted traffic onto the healthy parts of the system while the team continued to work towards a root cause. Service came back unevenly across regions, which is why some of you recovered hours before others. What's next? We're running a full post incident review. I care less about the one line root cause and more about the real questions. Why a failure in one service was able to take down this much. Why recovery took as long as it did and what we changed.

[00:31:27] So a single point of failure can't ruin your night again. That means hardening the dependencies underneath sign in and game launch, improving how we detect and contain this class of failure and being faster and clearer with you when something breaks. Thank you for your patience and for the reports that generally helped us narrow this down. We'll do better. So first, Scott, coming from something that I want you to go across the hall, go talk to your Microsoft Azure counterparts.

[00:31:58] And ask that question because Azure. I mean, I feel like there's a little cookie cutter. I'm pretty sure like he already knew. Well, the problem is, is Azure. Even when you're, even when you're initially saying this stuff up, that's in the checklist to go and understand risk of single point of failure. It's, it's not that piece is that the worst, a lot of companies are finding out that Azure

[00:32:25] itself, how they architected Azure has so many of these types of faults where one tiny service somewhere all of a sudden decides to become a Hydra and just take out everything with it. That's fair. Especially when it comes through, especially when it comes to security and licensing throughout Azure. Mm-hmm.

[00:32:50] Um, and Azure has had a problem of this where they find out an issue in the morning and it takes literally all day to fix it because when they bring up the architecture, like, like he talked about is that everything came up unevenly for me, for what I do for work, it coming up unevenly means they do not have a properly tested DR environment. Right.

[00:33:21] That's it. Or a failover environment. Failover environment, DR environment, whatever you want to phrase it as, they don't have it. So interesting. I'm going to, for me, it just seems like it's going to end up being like something really, really dumb. Like Theo said, where somebody basically locked the server out because they put in the password wrong. And it may not even been their password. It could have been the, you know, the, uh, or like you said, the license, the API, the

[00:33:49] API, you know, cert expired, whatever it was. Right. But it doesn't surprise me in the least because I deal with Azure day in and day out that it was like this. So, um, Microsoft's going to have to do a lot of, a lot of hard, because here's my thing is, is that now that, you know, and this is where leads into the grander concept is that we were talking about online issues for, for PlayStation.

[00:34:16] But when you think about it is Xbox, it's very much rumored that project Helix is going to have no disc drive. Um, and then they're going to be going to a system where currently on your Xbox, you can put your disc in, gets you the license for it, you know, so you can have it digitally PlayStation. We know is moving to an all disc version.

[00:34:40] You go, you go with these next generation of consoles going all digital in a cloud infrastructure that cannot support anything anymore. I think you're going to have a major problem for the next generation. I agree. I also, I end up questioning like at least some of the big wigs that are in charge of it, that like how much they'd actually care.

[00:35:09] So, I mean, I just kind of feel like that there is a kind of like, I don't know how to put the phrase I'm trying to think of, but they, they don't necessarily see importance in entertainment or, or video games. So it's like kind of lower on that, on the totem pole is like, it's like, oh, okay. People can't play video games. That's why we don't have a failover in place in order to go right back up because we're, it doesn't really matter.

[00:35:39] They're going with what's been best. They've been best been told like the best route is and where they're going to make the most money. Not necessarily what's the best route for the company and maybe for our customers. Losing money when people aren't playing video games online. So, so that would, that would be what I would ended up seeing from that kind of space.

[00:36:03] But then you have the, where we're at in our current generation, where there is an inordinate amount of streamers and them essentially making money based on and being reliant on these types of services to be available. With this type of thing is like, you're definitely going to be hurting that audience as well as

[00:36:31] the audience of the streamers. So you're definitely going to get an uproar from that. Yeah. I, I really think, I think with these outages, we know it's not going to happen, but they really should rethink this, the physical disc piece. Yeah, I agree. Because your infrastructure in the cloud environment has to support digital gaming.

[00:36:57] I mean, look in the, look in the bigger spectrum of terms when it comes to, you know, the, the data centers that a few States have been trying to push and then, you know, they failed because it just, it wasn't viable. So, I mean, I, you know, I absolutely agree. I think maybe they should take this as a sign is okay. Maybe we should, you know, do a little bit more research or think about this for a few

[00:37:26] more years, you know, do the, you know, they need to at least learn from other people's failures with the concept of cloud only gaming. Like, like granted, yes, they're doing digital only. I mean, like digital only, but in retrospect, it's, it's a step closer to cloud only. Um, and there's been such big failures with that and they're not doing any steps in order to

[00:37:55] improve on it in any way. So they really should, it would benefit them very much. So in order to have an alternative, whether it be necessarily allow people to download their games, whether or not it'd still be digital, but still have a visit or a local way to play the game rather than requiring an internet connection. Well, I will, then we'll say this though, Theo, is that right now, currently any digital

[00:38:23] game that we buy on our primary PS fives can be played offline. It doesn't have to have a license check-in. Right. And it still has a, and it can be downloaded. So that's how it is now, but what they do in the future, who knows? Yeah. Um, Jason, what's your thought before we, uh, stop beating the dead horse?

[00:38:53] It's already been beating to death. It's okay. No, um, I don't really have that much for me. I get it. You know, people are going to be like, uh, like the, the games as a service, like we're pushing that, pushing cloud gaming, we're pushing all this and that hiccups do happen. You know, that's fine. You know, I mean, do you count this as a hiccup though? Kind of.

[00:39:21] Cause you know, how long was the last time that this happened? You know, like maybe a few years ago. Okay. It, it, it, it, it, it's just in my personal opinion. I feel like a hiccup would be more of like, they did have a backup plan going. This is just more like, they were ill prepared. And that's, I think this is, this is good that it's happening now while there's honestly, like, can you imagine of this being like a multiple day thing or like a full, like this

[00:39:50] is just a one day thing and it's, it's, it's okay. Mm-hmm. No, um, like, uh, Matt's going to try and look it up to see beforehand, but we don't really have these July 20th. So July 23rd, they had an outage as well. That's all I got this week. So yesterday, isn't there also a, isn't there also a big boycott?

[00:40:17] Um, like fans are asking for a big boycott to just the first week of August first through the seventh, the boycott PlayStation, which nobody's going to do. Like here's, here's the thing is everyone's calling for that. Right. And, but at the same time as everyone's like doing all this like negative, Hey, F you to Sony, cause you're not doing this on a disc yet. Go watch, go look at every single one of their online or their PSN accounts and they're active.

[00:40:46] They're actively playing games. Like, so part of this for me is it's rage bait. Like if you're true, if you're truly pissed off at a company that is going to be doing something that you don't want them to do, then you're not going to support that company at all. You're going to cancel your PSN. You are not going to be buying games. You're not going to be playing the games. You're going to fully, fully commit to it.

[00:41:13] Um, yeah, not just sit there and say, just a day Sony for taking my disc away, but then literally 15 minutes from now you're online playing the game. Right. So we're on Twitch watching somebody else play it. I get, I, I get it right is. And I think we've talked about it more. I think it hurts more than mom and pops. It hurts more of those people that can't afford a full price game that goes to those mom and pop shops and gets a used game.

[00:41:42] You know, that's where it really hurts. Right. Yeah. But one part of we've talked about at least PlayStation is given an 18 month notice to say, Hey, 18 months down the road, we're not going to be doing this anymore. You know, which one gives them enough runway to change their minds. But I like the boycott's not going to, it's not going to amount to a ton of much because

[00:42:12] with everything that's coming out, like, and what did just come out with halo and everything like that, I don't see, I don't see that quote unquote boycott going that far. Like, I mean, they've been just which PlayStation would end up saying is like, we're not doing more discs, but we have this other plan that's coming up to that'd be the better, better thing. And, you know, maybe that's, you know, why they essentially went silent and like haven't

[00:42:40] fully addressed, you know, what, you know, the boycott, the, the physical disc, you know, backlash, maybe, you know, they are waiting for some sort of time or announcement to announce their, you know, we understand what's going on. We've been getting ready to announce like, this is our plan, but, or at least tell us, you know, we were planning on telling you what's going on.

[00:43:08] Like here's a date or something, but you know, it's nothing. We're not, we're not getting anything wrong. Yeah. And in their recent tweets, they're going, they're going on as business as usual, actually, which is, which is fully, fully more furthermore enraging the fans. Which like, I get like, for me, it's like, is that I get it.

[00:43:34] Like, I understand why people are upset, but even the ESA is like hinted at, you don't really own your game. You know, it's like, right. Like even in the terms and conditions, the, the end user agreements, it literally says, this is a license. This is not owned.

[00:43:53] So, you know, nobody reads those, but you know, so lastly, Halo came out early for folks that wanted to pay, play five days early. They actually made some significant changes to it.

[00:44:14] Um, so, um, with it, the, uh, they made the game a little bit easier in terms of where the canades are put, you know, swapping weapons, you know, that type of thing. Sprinting. Which wasn't in the original Halo. That's right. Which is, it's great. Trust me. Run away. Cause I would assume they added some of the stuff from the, from the, uh, later games, you know?

[00:44:44] So, uh, the Warthog, you now drive it like any other racer. R2 is your gas. R2 is your brakes. And you use your left thumbstick to drive it. Whereas anybody that's played. Oh, no more with the camera on one side and the like actual steering. Nice. You had to use the, you had to use the thumbsticks only to drive the Warthog originally. Wasn't it? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was both. Correct.

[00:45:11] Um, now you can go back to the original base look for it if you want to, in terms of that, if you, that's how you want to drive it, but, um, so they took health packs away. So remember back in the day, your shields would go down, your health would drop. You could go find health packs. Now you have regenerating health. Oh, okay. That's a good quality of life improvement. It's a great quality of life.

[00:45:39] You can go camp out behind a rock, get your energy and your health back, and then go back to, back to things, you know? Um, enemy encounters, they have got a remix thing going on. So it tweaks the encounters. Um, you know, you've got jackals with beam rifles now. Like, oh, cool. So they have like different, different weapons and like, okay. With weapons. That'll make everything, every, the encounters feel different and stuff.

[00:46:07] Um, the over shield and the active camo are no longer immediate use. They are bound to R1. So you can use them like a power up. Like you could later in the games, you could activate the active camo or the shield. You know, now you can do it in this one. Um, okay. Vehicles, you know, I've changed up a little bit in terms of, um, they're in different locations.

[00:46:35] Now this level that they're putting it, like they're showing the video for was great because I literally that level on the first covenant ship you go to, I hopped into that tank and used it. Um, so I haven't gotten to the part where you can like, um, hijack the vehicles, but you can do that now, which was what you could do later part later. Halo games. Hmm.

[00:47:03] So you can now hijack the ghosts and stuff. Oh, okay. Uh, you now have, uh, aim down sights. Oh, cool. Hmm. Which is something that they did have zoom in rather than name down sights. It depends on the, depends on the, depends on the weapon. Yes. With the, for the, but for the assault rival, the classic, that's actually, that's pretty good. You didn't have that option back in the day.

[00:47:32] It was just point and shoot. Um, weapons got new skins. They work a little bit differently, which is kind of nice. Um, the, to an energy sword, the energy sword looks dope. Yeah. And there's, there's a new skin for it too. So like you, they give you extra skins so you can make your, all your weapons look different now. Oh, sweet.

[00:48:01] So, you know, your salt, like it all gets like kind of like your armor. When you would choose skins for your armor, there's skins now for all the weapons, the energy swords, the pistols, assault rifle, battle rifle, all of that. Now I could be dumb, but like, uh, I thought this game was supposed to be a remake of the original, right? It is. Yes. Okay. Combat evolved. But I thought, uh, energy swords wasn't available until halo two. Uh huh. No, it was first one.

[00:48:31] Oh no, no, no. That was only two. No. It was one. It was one. Okay. Yeah. The first time, the first time, uh, you, you did get to use one was either the first or second time you're on a covenant ship where you get, where you got to actually like pick one up. So in this, I think what they did was added in, uh, the SMG from two new rifles, fuel rod cannons, beam rifles. Dude.

[00:49:01] You can even swap with the other Marines weapons. Oh, wow. Oh, I saw a demo of that. Yeah, that's right. Oh, that's cool. Hmm. Oh, cool. The assault rifle. That's from two. Awesome. Yep. So you get the assault. So definitely a little like minor rifles yet open the availability and flexibility of the game quite a bit, which I, yeah. Oh, for me right now, all good moves. Here's the other thing. Okay.

[00:49:30] Brutes are now in, in halo. Oh, cool. It's not just two. Yeah. Oh, that's right. Oh, sick. Um, and then of course the skulls, everyone's are all back. Now they did, uh, do skulls that allow you to, uh, not run and, um, it resets your guns to be back the way they used to be. So like the original assault rifle used to have a 60 round clip.

[00:49:59] The new one is only 36, but with the new one, they tightened up the, the bullet spray and the impact on the weapons. Oh, dope. Did I go past the, that's something to. Yeah. So there's even an interesting one that, uh, you can, it allows you to change the perspective to third person. So you can actually play the whole game in third person view. Correct. Huh.

[00:50:27] So overall quality of life is so much better. Cool. Yeah. I can't wait. I feel like that's how you need to honestly remake or remaster a game. Uh, you have to. That's fair. Yeah. You have to honestly take whatever the game is and make the quality of life from what people have talked about, especially on forums or especially like in discourse or whatever, whatever channels you want to go through.

[00:50:57] But you have to be able to listen to the people and say, Hey, you know what? Let's make quality of life better. Let's add a few things. Let's tweak it. Just a little bit. Which I feel like they have listened to the fans and like, yeah, when it comes to, and like you said before, I think you've said this about a black flag. I think, um, where this was also another, uh, uh, example of a, uh, uh, proper remake where,

[00:51:21] you know, they make all the right adjustments, but still have about the first game. Right. Do to make it better, but still kept the core heart of, of the game. Like I can definitely attest, uh, they did with, with black, with black flag. It was, it was amazing. It was great. And, uh, it really brought me back to damn 2013. It came out in 2013. It's crazy, but yeah, I really enjoyed it.

[00:51:51] And then I think the, uh, the same will happen with a halo. I can't wait to start playing it too. So with that, I'll kind of, I'll kind of go first. Oh, cause I have been playing halo. Uh, I paid, I played the 20 or I paid the $20 to get early access to all the deluxe, you know, skins and all of that. Nice. I love halo. Like that's the thing is we've talked about it, right?

[00:52:19] Is that halo and Forza have always like been my absolute favorite Xbox franchises. Halo has always been, even with the crap that was infinite. Halo as a series has always been in like, for me, like top five, top 10, like all time favorite franchises. I love halo. So I think for a lot of people, uh, halo was the start to a lot of things.

[00:52:46] And, um, especially when it came out, it's, it's that big of a franchise in a game. You know, I think we all have individual stories for it to land parties. Yeah. Like everyone bringing over, you know, the big, you know, memories of, yeah. Land party. Dude, that was dope. Running ethernet cables all the way downstairs. Like the confirmation. You bring your, you bring your concert, you got everything. I got everything. Yeah. Let's go. Oh, that's one more. Awesome. Everyone brings their own like type S controller.

[00:53:15] Cause I don't want to use anybody else's like, but no. So I've been taking my time with it. Um, they did leave in an Easter egg and turned it into a trophy from the first game. Like the original halo back in the day. If you really wanted to, after you got the pistol, you could actually go kill keys. And then there were Marines that came in to try and, and, and stop you.

[00:53:41] So there is a trophy now to where you kill keys and you push all of the Marines into the observation pit. And it's like the trophy is called. I think this is my ship now. This is my ship. Um, Um, it took me a good 10 minutes to get it, to actually earn it. Um, but it was a fun little trophy, but, um, it is actually stunning though.

[00:54:09] It is unreal engine that they built this in. It looks incredibly gorgeous. The cut scenes, everything about it. It plays so good. Nice. So, um, for anybody that is a halo fan. Yes. Just get it. Very excited. Yeah. I can't wait. Um, and then of course I've been playing black flag. Nice. How are you, uh, progressing on that?

[00:54:39] Uh, I just got done with getting the, uh, the dart, the blow dart. Oh, cool. Cool. Cool. Cool. Nice. Like Jerry and I will get on, we'll get in a chat and we'll just be both be playing it. And he knows Jerry can attest to this, just how much I just dick around. Like, I'm just like, Hey, I'm going to go here. Like I explore so much more than actually doing the main quest, you know, or you're knocking out, knocking out a local area.

[00:55:06] Like, Oh, I'm doing another assassin contract or something like, yeah, whatever it is. But I'm like, look, a kid finishing as you go. Yeah. So it's been, uh, it's been Assassin's Creed and it's been Halo. Oh, nice. All right. That's it. So, um, let's see here. Anything you've been watching? Yeah. Movie wise. Um, I think we talked about this last week, but I did go see the, I did see the Odyssey

[00:55:36] and 70. Nice. Yep. What did you, what did you think? I loved it. Um, and now I've heard interviews after the fact, a lot of the, the effects are all practical. That's what I've heard too. So like the giants, which that's not ruining anything as it's in the trailers, the giants were actually guys that were seven feet tall and the soldiers were, uh, women that were five feet tall.

[00:56:03] And they also positioned the cameras in such an angle in order to help. Yeah. Um, also the big giant in the cave was an actual like a puppetry, like, yep. And there was, uh, and then the scene with, uh, Cersei that was all practical and nothing on that was really CGI. So they did a lot of, a lot of old school cinema stuff, which I appreciate. Love it. And that's Nolan. He always tries to go.

[00:56:33] Or in the original, it wasn't necessarily computer. It definitely wasn't computer, but they did claymation in order for some of the effects. Yes. So that's nice that they did practicality. And that was the thing with Nolan too. Like, uh, if you, if you felt like you saw a thousand people running down, like soldiers running down the beach, there were, there were a thousand extras. A thousand people. Yeah. Like, yeah, I guess he was very vast and like, even the production was like kind of intimidating.

[00:57:03] And he invented the camera or helped invent the camera used for this. Oh, cool. It's the, it's the rig and the, yeah, the rig case and the mounts and the, the cranes, all, all the newer accessories, uh, is, is what he has helped create for the, for the camera. What fully loaded when that thing is put together, it's like 300 pounds. Yeah.

[00:57:30] Um, so dude, the shoulder rigs are insane looking for the camera guys. Like they're like huge handles. We're like, it's insane. And the 70 millimeter IMAX only has about an, a minute and a half worth of film per canister. Yeah. It's like up to 3.6 minutes or something like that. Yeah. It's some really small amount for a really small amount for, for that. And the reel is huge.

[00:58:00] Like, yeah, it's just insane. The entire setup to just the feet that he's been able to do it. Yep. So they would get the film, send it back to the lab. They would process it, digitize it. Go through the whole old process. Yeah. Digitized. They would decide what needs to be cut and what doesn't.

[00:58:18] Then they would send that information down to somebody that would actually go to the physical film, physically cut it, cut out the sections that they're cutting. Oh, cool. And that's, that's also the magic of Nolan too.

[00:58:38] So like after the end of the day, he would get a readout of all of the numbers, which were the real numbers. And then they would go through the dailies for that current edit and then would mark which, okay, this number, this, which is this reel, and then send that off. And then that process would happen where they would cut it up.

[00:59:04] And then as they're going, they're editing the movie and getting the initial movie done. It's, it's in, it's a well-oiled machine. It's insane how much like they have already like prepared and like done for the day when he's done for the day. He really isn't done. Like it's insane. Yeah. When he films a movie, he's like, I don't like, I wonder like how, how much he actually sleeps.

[00:59:32] And given that I grew up on 35 millimeter film from a photography standpoint, seeing them actually working with the real negatives and cutting the negatives and putting them in like, I was like, man, that brings me back. Like, so, you know, nowadays a lot of, a lot of them are, you know, movies are just filmed straight digitally. They don't even use film anymore, you know? So it's definitely appreciated that, you know, on that part.

[00:59:58] So, um, I am up to date on X-Men 97. I wish somebody else was, so I can sit there and talk about episodes with him. I will. I will get there. I'm like, I'm just, I will. Um, and then, uh, only other thing is, is I've got tickets for opening day on Thursday. Nice. Oh, nice. That's going to be awesome.

[01:00:26] And a lot of people that, um, like straw hat goofy or something. Um, no, it's, uh, uh, four o'clock my showing on Thursday. Oh, wow. That's pretty sweet. They're, uh, they're doing a midnight on Wednesday. Okay. For it. So it officially opens Thursday. Um, I know I can never, I can't do those anymore. I got to, I really have to power through those. Right. Um, but everybody that's been going to see it as part of the premiere and stuff is everybody

[01:00:55] saying that this could very well be the best live action Spider-Man. I can't wait. Yeah. Yeah. I really want to see it. And I, I love the fact that like, I love Tom Holland and he's still for me, like the best definitive Spider-Man that we are getting because, uh, I think we're, we're seeing him blossom into the best Spider-Man for me. I think, uh, Andrew Garfield was one of the best depictions that we got, uh, as of, uh,

[01:01:24] in the past. I wasn't a big Toby fan, but, um, uh, I'm really excited because this one I feel is going to be more of Holland's like he, he's, he put in the inspiration from, uh, from Toby and, and Andrew into the suit. There's so much of like what Holland was like looking to put in and he's put so much of

[01:01:50] like the old homage of like old comic books in, he's even thinking about the trailers. Like poses and all that. It's, uh, I think this one, like, like you said, uh, it's expected to be big. I do have, you know, I hope it's real, it is as good as it's being expected. And, uh, I can't wait to see what, you know, what all the, all the secrets are, it's about to unfold.

[01:02:17] And I hope we at least get some, like just a tidbit from, yeah, something that, that hints to like something about doomsday. If not, I would still be okay. I have a feeling it wouldn't be doomsday. I have a feeling it would have been one of the other announcements that SCCC, like ghost writer or something, which by the way, Ryan got announced. As ghost writer. I know. Finally, damn. It took them long enough.

[01:02:44] I mean, everyone, everyone never stopped fan casting that, that one, that character. It's been going on for years and they've like, what were they doing? Like they were like, okay, we'll finally give in or what else? Oh, Ryan Reynolds showed up in full on Deadpool. Yes. Yeah. In gray. In X factor, X factor Deadpool, which was dope.

[01:03:11] And it was like, and then, and you know, he, he walked around the, uh, yes. The convention floor. Yeah. The convention floor. Sure. Um, but yeah, like the things he was asking was hilarious, but, um, the only other thing really quick before we move on to Jerry is that, um, it was announced on the DC side. Alan Richland is joining DC. Um, okay. Oh yeah. Yeah. Nobody.

[01:03:38] They don't think it's Batman though, because he's kind of hinted that it's, it's another, it's not, it's another character. Yeah. I don't think so. Hopefully it's not his Aquaman. I would love that. I was low key thinking like, I mean, small bill Aquaman. Give me AC back. Come on. Uh, I was, I was low key kind of thinking that cause they do need to re you know, recast him anyways, but bring back Tom Welling. Oh man. That'd be cool.

[01:04:09] I want Tom Welling back first before I get AC. Anyways. So, uh, Jerry. Oh, is it to me? Oh, really? Oh, awesome. Finally. It's to me. You sons of bitches are going to listen. Now, once again, I should get my own theme music because this is starting to be a thing. Once again, game done. Assassin's Creed, Black Flag, resynced.

[01:04:38] Done. Over. Okay. I finished the game onto the next one as DJ Khaled would say. Oh no, I'm not going to quote him. That was bad. Gross. I don't like him. Another one. But yes. Uh, so yeah, I finished Black Flag. Um, so now, uh, I have opened the, the, the doors to, to, um, Halo combat evolved, but I'm going to get my copy tomorrow. So I can't wait to play.

[01:05:08] Uh, let's see. I just finished the show sugar on Apple TV. I highly recommend it. I'm going to see the second season. It was done. I thought it still had more episodes. No, I, I finished the first season. I just started it and I'm, I'm going to start the second season, which is currently going on right now, uh, right now, or just finished. Um, I thought you were saying you finished the second season. No, no, I finished the first season, which was awesome. It's amazing.

[01:05:38] And then I also finished, uh, the mini series on Apple, um, Blackbird. I know I'm, I might be a little late to the, to the game on that one. Right. Yeah. And he, uh, he was in, yeah, in the prison, he had to befriend a serial killer, a supposed serial killer. The confession. Yeah. Okay. Um, really good. I thought so too. It was definitely, definitely weird. Yeah.

[01:06:06] A little intense, you know, at the, at the point where like, uh, Egerton's character got outed, uh, technically, uh, as an informant, which, uh, like every day was just tense because he was in a J not only was he in a jail, but he was in a, like a somewhat of an insane asylum of a maximum security jail, which was even more intense. So, uh, yeah, that was really good.

[01:06:34] And, uh, I think I might try and start, uh, uh, paradise, uh, on Hulu. That was something recommended to me. And. That one's got two seasons, right? Yeah. I think that one has two seasons as well. Okay. And that's about it. I've just been watching, uh, you know, either rewatching or watching some comfort movies here and there. And that's been about it. Oh yeah. And then, uh, Theo, how about you?

[01:07:04] Have you been playing? Again, I haven't really been playing anything. Um, I did funnily enough, uh, purchase and installed and loaded, uh, pal world. Oh, you'll have to tell us, uh, what's that like? And, uh, how, how awesome it is to shoot weapons off of, uh, pal or like whatever they're called.

[01:07:29] I couldn't put more than like an hour in so far, but like, it's very much Minecraft meets Pokemon. Um, Oh really? It's different. Like there's definitely a survival aspect and like building bases and, and increasing your technologies and stuff like that. So it's certainly different. And like, I didn't know that part of the, uh, part of the game. So we'll see how, how that goes. Oh, cool. Okay.

[01:07:59] Otherwise haven't really been playing anything. I have been watching stuff. Um, I'm caught up on, uh, that anime from old, uh, country bumpkin to sword master. Uh, I did start watching the second season of avatar last airbender live action on Netflix. How, uh, how is it? Cause I heard that was getting a little bit of guff out there or do you, do you not agree with it?

[01:08:29] I feel like it's still technically on par with what they did in the first season. Like the stories compared to the animation are still all jumbled and they're, they just kind of like a homage to, to it really. And it's like trying to do the same thing, but still tell the same story. It's, I don't know.

[01:08:52] It's kind of jumbled to keep it on, on a, on a series like timeline is very difficult. Cause they're not, they're not all the episodes. Right. Right. So to squeeze all of that in that's, you know, that's already a tough feat in like, yeah. So I was wondering because you are like an OG fan. I don't know if I say it's necessarily bad. I would just say it's, I feel it's as bad as the first season.

[01:09:22] Okay. So it's on par. Okay. I guess. I mean, I don't know. Gotcha. And then, uh, but I did on the topic of avatar. I did watch the new avatar movie, avatar ang on paramount plus. And also, what did you think? So I didn't have a gripe with it. Okay.

[01:09:44] So, uh, one, um, they did heavily try to make it more anime ask for the art style, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it was like kind of a try hard type of movie. Or like they were placating. Yeah. Yeah. It just, just with everybody's, it's like avatar. The S-meter is not an anime. It was like, okay, well, you're kind of trying to correct that, I guess.

[01:10:13] Um, but, uh, my, uh, the story was decent. It was a little played on for the most part. It was a little overly stretched, I should say. And, um, but the biggest disappointment for me was the bending. The, the bending was always like, I want to say it was cut short, essentially. Like they had some cool effects, but you only saw it for like two seconds.

[01:10:40] And then the camera, essentially the camera angle changed back to the characters. Yeah. And it's just, it just wasn't really is, is like, holy crap. This is cool type of deal going on. And, and like, they introduced some interesting new pieces for techniques that they were doing, which is fine. But I mean, like kind of, it just didn't highlight the bending like they should have, in my opinion. Um, but otherwise it was good.

[01:11:10] It was enjoyable. Uh, I've watched it twice. So, I mean, I will watch it again. Um, so I wouldn't say bad. I just had, that's my gripe. It's a, it's a nitpick in my opinion, but I'd, I'd still recommend it. Okay. Uh, but otherwise that's pretty much it. My, my parents and I are rewatching movies, uh, since we don't have any shows to really rewatch right now or new episodes of stuff to watch.

[01:11:37] Uh, so like the night while, while we're doing this, they're watching, um, uh, payback with Mel Gibson. Nice. Mel Gibson. Nice. Yeah. And, uh, Lucy Liu's first, uh, um, big time role. Is that her first big time? That's her first one. Yeah. She would have had something, but, or is it like her first credited role? Something like that. I think her, her first big credited role.

[01:12:05] Like that's what got her, her next movie. And I believe like onto Charlie's angels, like that, that broke her out in the industry. Yeah. I wonder if she ever gets, uh, uh, annoyed with references to payback. Cause I feel like even in my mind with, uh, any reference to her and payback, all I get from her is, uh, her line, which is just in the car and, uh, bonding over Mel Gibson just goes.

[01:12:35] Hubba hubba hubba hubba hubba. That's all I get. That's all I get from her. How was that deal? How was that deal? Classic. Hubba hubba hubba. Jason, how about you, man? Yeah, brother. Uh, I have been, uh, you know, sleeping, working. Uh, yeah. Yeah. Keeping that strength up really nice. The second part, not so much. Yeah.

[01:13:06] Like. It's been rough, but, uh, not, not really playing that much, you know, playing Majokh on lunch breaks, playing Uwa Musume on like my 15 and my 10, 15 breaks. Okay. Um, trying to keep going with nine souls, but I play for like five minutes and I start passing out because I'm just tired.

[01:13:30] Like, um, other than that, like here and there, uh, what did we, we watched the Hawk actually the Hawk on Netflix with, uh, that's with Will Ferrell, right? Oh, yeah. Actually, it's a really good show. It's actually good. I despise Will Ferrell so much. I hate his work. Oh, I love Will Ferrell. Yeah, I want to see it. This is a golf movie too, right?

[01:14:00] If he ain't first, you're last. Is it a movie or a series? That's a series. It's a series. Oh, it's a series? Okay, cool. It's a golf series. Yeah, I want to see it. Um. There's a lot of like, you know, stupid, funny SNL, like 90s humor. So if you're into that a little bit, then it'll work. Um, no, other than that, uh, just been keeping up.

[01:14:27] How does it compare to what's the, what's one of his, like the, the show man? Is it, is that what it is? No, Anchorman. How does it compare to Anchorman stupidity humor? Um, kind of the same. I love Anchorman. Danny, you lost me. I'm not watching the Hog. I was that. Yeah, it's, like I said, like there, there's a lot of like stupid jokes. And then like, just the situational funniness.

[01:14:56] Um, you know, there is a little bit more drama than you expect. Shake and bake. Which is kind of like, okay. Like, that's fine. Yeah. It's just been. It's been trying to relax, man. Just been trying to relax. Well done. We got you. With your workload, I get it. You know. Yeah. You want to get your rest. Keep up the strength. You know. Got to keep going. With that, then.
