Episode 384 - More Layoffs, Zelda Movie Castings, And Wolverine Gets A Console

On this episode of the podcast we discuss the forthcoming layoffs at Supermassive Games, some of the newly announced castings for the Legend of Zelda movie, and give our thoughts on the new Wolverine PS5 console and accessories.

[00:00:08] Welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt DiOrio, your host. As always, we've got the beanieed one, Gerard Barrera. Hey, what's up you nerds out there? What's going on? Once again, it's a little hot so I went the headband route. Don't kill me. But yeah. What's up? How you doing? Are we really talking like how hot are we talking here? I mean, it's survival, boy. It's just, you know...

[00:00:37] It got to 87 today. Yeah, it's just... If Jason was here... Okay, I'll give you this. Your humidity was 61% today though. Yeah, yeah. So it's a little... You know, it's a little hot. And then we got our... A literal bouncing baby boy there not feeling too well. Theo Wolski. Wah! What's up y'all?

[00:01:06] Just eat... Just eating some juke. Trying to feel better. Nice, nice. Oh, look what I'm saying before. I need a vacation. I so need a vacation. Yeah. Yeah. Like you and I were talking about earlier... Well, it's not... What an extended holiday. Well, I look at it, the fact is I've been dealing with medical crap now. Mm-hmm. For six months.

[00:01:37] Gross. February 13th was when I had my cardiologist appointment. Jesus. Oh, wow. Yeah. Last time I did anything on the WRX, like mod wise or anything, it was January 6th. That's it? I feel like you did something in like April. Well, I had that spoiler on there. Yeah. But I pulled it off. Oh, okay.

[00:02:06] Just because that 3M tape wasn't staying right for that spoiler that I had gotten. So like, that's what I get for getting knockoff. Like... Oh. So, it was only a hundred bucks. So it's not like I was... You know that going in. Yeah. You're partying and everything. So I guess I'll, you know, if I really want to drop a spoiler on it instead of a wing, I'll drop the four and get it from Subaru. But... We'll see. Looks good with my car. Oh, yeah. With the windows tinted. But yeah.

[00:02:38] But yeah, the last thing I did to my car really was in truly in January is when I put the pitch mount on it. Pulled the intercooler and did all that. So... Yeah. Jerry, have you tinted yours? No, I haven't. Okay. I mean, not my... Like, my driver's side and passenger side aren't, but like my back ones and all that are still naturally tinted. Yeah.

[00:03:07] The car came that way. I don't know why... You know, eventually... Like a California law thing? That's a good question. Cause I don't know. I just took it as is. Cause I figured it was legal, but you know. Okay. Yeah. Um, so like out here in Virginia, you can do 35% in the rear and you have to do 50% up front. So you have to have two different tints. Mmm. That might be the actually the case.

[00:03:37] Uh, um, uh, with mine, but yeah, but yeah, I don't know, but I got my intended. It looks great. It definitely helped with the heat. You know, it's still hot. Did you also add that, that, uh, like racing side decal for the license plate that the holder? No, I did not that. I've, I had that on the... You had that on the other one.

[00:04:04] I had that on the other WRX, but I took that off the second I went to a car wash and it tried to rip off the entire front bumper with it. So, oh geez. Oh, damn. Yeah. So I just run, um, because mine came with the bracket already on it for the license plate up front. Yeah. So, um, if I remove it, it's got two holes drilled into the bumper that are annoying to see. So I'm just, I'm running front, front plate and whatnot.

[00:04:29] And, um, I could run tow hook if I wanted to, but I like where she's at. Okay. So. Gotcha. It's not too shabby. Anyways. But yeah, we can talk about collection corner really quick. Uh, my apartment with a whole bunch of nerd shit. So, but as you should, uh, what people will start seeing is there's been some changes right here.

[00:05:01] So I ended up getting a hold of 24 by 36. Very cool. Posters. The big ones. Yeah. They're, they're, they're very nice size. I have them frame now, but they're mass effect and uncharted, which we all know. I am. Those are my two favorite absolute favorite series of all time. So I had to get them be a nerd about it.

[00:05:28] So, but we were unfortunately sans Jason, you know, been nice to get some of his input tonight, but let's, let's get. We'll miss you bud. Since you've recently inspired the whole like blind box and everything. Oh shit. I am not responsible for this. I am writing a disclaimer. I did not encourage the to spend any money whatsoever on any blind boxes. That being said.

[00:05:57] Uh, encouraged inspired inspired. Yeah. Take it in some sort of fashion. Uh, so came across on Tik TOK, some like a blind envelopes for Pokemon art boards. Yeah. Cool. Oh, that's cool. You know, it's just super cute. Pokemon was foods. I don't know. That's awesome. And what I liked about the streamer was that, uh, they did what they called like a trade

[00:06:27] wall or whatever. So they, you, they'd have like four of them already opened. That's fun. And you'd be, and you'd bid for a couple to do blind. And if you didn't like them or already had them, you could trade with the trade wall if you wanted to. So it kind of made sure that you were happy with it. Oh, cool. I thought that was convenient. Yeah. I like that. I like that. A little more art that I don't have walls for. So they just kind of stack up. Oh, so you get a little bit curiously through me. Yeah. Just a little bit.

[00:06:56] Cause you actually have walls. I have, um, whatchamacallit, just drapes insulation in my basement. Doesn't really hold up very well. Well, there are some, there are some, uh, we have to throw some like right ideas. I, I found some foldable racks that have been, uh, working out pretty well that I've been

[00:07:22] putting some of my collective collectibles on that, that isn't so bad. Yeah. Yeah. Like shelves. Oh, okay. Yeah. I mean, I've got, I've got lots of shelves, lots and lots of shelves. Oh, I don't have to, like, I would like it better if I could put it on the, like the wall behind my desk and everything. Oh, I get you. But I can't. No, that kind of deal. Yeah. But yours are all banker boxes.

[00:07:48] Uh, no, I mean, I've got those, but then I've got some more shelves that are, uh, in the midst of not being used. Mm-hmm. They're like the wireframe shelves. So things will fall through too. Yeah. I got to put some points on the shelves. Yeah. But I'm lazy. So I take my time. I'm slacker. Per use. Mm-hmm. Nothing wrong with that. Into the theater we go. Sometimes it is. Whoa.

[00:08:17] So unfortunately, we're going to start off with some bad news tonight. Oh God. So, uh, supermassive games, which we know did until dawn, uh, directives 8020. They came out, uh, today and announced they are going to be laying off 75 people. Um, I really wish Jason was here. Uh, because of until dawn.

[00:08:42] Maybe because they should have stopped remaking that damn game and trying to make it a TV show and a movie and yeah, uh, everything. Yeah. Their, their official announcement was we have made the difficult decision to begin a redundancy consultation process, which we anticipate will result in the loss of up to 75 of our colleagues. This is a necessary step to help ensure the stability of the sustainability of the company.

[00:09:09] We know this will be an incredibly difficult time for everyone and our priority throughout the process will be to provide support to all those impacted. Yeah, they did layoffs in 24. Um, so I think Bloomberg's reporting from this article on game of former roughly they've lost 200 jobs in three years.

[00:09:38] Yeah, it looks like last time that they did the restructuring, they cut about one need to 30%. So I wonder what 75% or 75 people. Yeah. Um, so when they, when you look at things, uh, what super massive, uh, the last three games they've released directive 80, 20, uh, has a Metacritic of 72 little nightmares, three 71.

[00:10:07] And the casting of Frank stone was a 68. Um, so they wouldn't have been successful until dawn two is being developed by a different studio. So super massive isn't even related to that. So it's still coming. Yeah. I mean, I'm not fully against sequel. This is as long as they don't remake the crap out of it. I'm told Don didn't even need to have a remake. That's nothing.

[00:10:38] Cause it looked, I mean, a remaster remake, and then it was developed for a TV show and then a movie. And then I think it was a TV show. It was a movie. I remember it being a TV. Oh, it was a movie. That's right. Yeah. Yeah. And it, it didn't follow the storyline at all. Yeah. Um, and then there's one part of it.

[00:11:03] I watched a part of the movie that they like, there's a certain bit where they just continue to explode sporadically and they don't know what's causing it. And it just made no sense. Every reset, somebody explodes. And then what one rendition through it, like all of them explode the exact same time. Oh my God.

[00:11:27] Um, so the other thing that came out was the deal of, um, this came out after we published. So we talked about EA going private in this article from Polygon. Um, you know, part of it's reporting on Jason Schreier, which we all know is pretty much never wrong. But as part of that deal, EA now is taking on $18 billion in debt.

[00:11:56] Jeez. And we'll have, and we'll have interest payments, just interest payments of $1.8 billion. What? That will have to be paid annually.

[00:12:14] So their, their EBITDA, um, was, uh, 1.5 million last year. So their EBITDA doesn't even make them enough money. No. Wow.

[00:12:35] Um, and they told investors that they're going to reduce the annual costs by $700 million. Um, part of that is going to be, at least this is making more sense as to why they sold out to private. Yeah. Because EA's in, I mean, come on, look at how much they're paying for that Madden license alone. They had to, they oversold everything. Yeah.

[00:13:03] You know, I mean like they're the home for NFL football. They're the home for soccer. Mm-hmm. You know, they've got the NCAA football license. So, you know, it's weird. But like, I mean, they're talking about doing organizational efficiencies. They want to cut 170 million. So what basically everybody's saying is, well, that means layoffs are coming.

[00:13:31] Um, the, the talk is when we're looking at layoffs, they're now talking about potentially selling off some of their studios or shuttering them altogether. And unfortunately, BioWare is one of those studios that are in, in the rumor mill right now. Um, I love BioWare.

[00:13:58] I mean, hell, I've got the mass effect, right? Is, is, is BioWare's big game. And let's be honest. Andromeda was not good. It wasn't great. It just, it launched. It was terrible. Like they had to pull a no man's sky with it and kind of fix it.

[00:14:22] You look at Dragon Age, Veil Guard and Inquisition, not like neither of those games were fantastic. So I can definitely see with the last three games, not doing great that they would be prime targets for that.

[00:14:42] That being said, anybody who's a mass effect fan going back to the original trilogy can absolutely see where EA started putting their hands in the cookie jar and start screwing with things. Yeah. True. Mass effect two was fantastic. Hands down. We all can agree. It leaps and bounds better than the first one, especially quality of life. We didn't have to drive around with the Mako all the time, but that was at the,

[00:15:11] the, when EA had just acquired Bioware. Then three is where they made you play the multiplayer game in order to get the good ending to the game. Like to make sure everybody, like you had all your resources. So therefore everybody survived, which was a trophy. So you had two different trophies that you, you know, to get, but you had to play multiplayer in order to get them. In the single player campaign. Mind you.

[00:15:41] Yeah, that's ridiculous. So, and then we got the, the crap. Ninety second ending, two minute ending to a game that if you played it start to finish, you invested a hundred plus hours in the original trilogy. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. Some of us that did try to do everything was more like 140, but I digress. Um, and then I, I give them the bold idea. Like, yes, you went and drama.

[00:16:12] Trying to kind of break out of the mold because you didn't have shepherd anymore. Well, right. You, you can't have mass effect. Hey, say you can't have mass effect truly without the original characters. Oh yeah. Without shepherd, without Tali and Liara and Garris and Rex, and even moving into two and three with Miranda and Jack and. Trying to have halo without chief. Yeah, exactly.

[00:16:40] I mean, don't get me wrong. ODS. He was, was good. I still think halo reaches. I mean, that is my favorite of the halos and that was without master chief, but it still was the Spartans. Right. So you were still kind of on the level of master chief.

[00:16:59] Um, but that being said, I think it, it just didn't launch great, you know, and we all had a certain level of expectations with, with mass effect. And it just didn't hit with Andromeda. I do need to go back and actually really dive into Andromeda and give it a full chance to actually play through it. Um, but that being said, it's Bioware is not, you know, hasn't done well.

[00:17:28] Um, honestly in quite a while, they've done like a number of restructures in between those. Right. So that's probably what's causing it. Have they used? Yeah. So when you look at EA and what they own, you've got Bioware respawn, which I would, I would absolutely love respawn to get out from underneath EA because then maybe we'd get Titanfall three.

[00:17:55] Oh, oh, that would be great. I mean, think about it. All respawn is really done is apex legends. And of course, uh, Jedi. Jedi. Oh, okay. They, they didn't, who acquired THQ? Uh, THQ Nordic. I thought they were still themselves. Oh, are they?

[00:18:21] I thought they got acquired, but so for some reason I thought a respawn did the dark centers games, but it was TH Nordic. Yeah. CHQ Nordic. Um, so, but when you look at their key ones, it's Bioware respawn. You've got Maxis, which does Sims, um, dice, which is battlefield and the star Wars battlefront, which let's be honest, the battlefronts haven't been great.

[00:18:48] No criterion need for speed and burnout as much as we love need for speed. The, the last couple of entries in need for speed have not been great either. You know, when you compare it to like horizon, you know, or a forza horizon rather, um, you've got, uh, code masters, which is doing F the F one series dirt grid. You've got motive, uh, Montreal, which does dead space.

[00:19:16] The, the remake, they did squad, uh, star Wars squadrons with squadrons. Wasn't great. Um, ripple effect is part of the battlefield set up. You've got, uh, EA Tiburon and Vancouver, which does FIFA Madden and NHL. And then you've got their mobile side. So as I'm looking at this, right, let's be honest.

[00:19:43] I think Bioware dice as much as I don't want to put dice in this, in this category, but Bioware dice criterion code masters and motive. I think are all candidates to get hit with either layoffs or, or closure because I don't see them closing down ripple effect, which is part of supporting battlefield.

[00:20:11] I mean, yeah, dice is dice as battlefield, but battlefield. When it first launched, the newest one was great, but it hasn't, you don't hear the chatter about battlefield that you, you did. It has its regular players. Like it has, it has its, uh, it's, it has its structure. Um, but it's not as, it's not as big as I think they projected it to be.

[00:20:38] Um, but, uh, I think that alone could, I mean, sustain them if they, if they really, if they really, I think they're going to be. They went like alone or, or independent, but, um, you know, I, I don't think, I don't think they would have many moves to like try and, uh, do something to venture off to do another, uh, uh, like original project.

[00:21:05] Unless, you know, I think they had backing. I, I, you know, I think that would be a risk. Uh, even for them cap to like, when you look at these other ones, the smaller ones, you know, pop caps in here. Um, I don't know what fire monkeys does or who they support, but. Oh, don't know. Oh yeah.

[00:21:34] It's like Sims, Sims support need for speed. Even, but even then like they, they might actually, uh, be okay on their own. A lot of the mobile games, man, like they all, they, they're, they're, they're mini cash machines. So I, this is the one I think Bioware I think needs to be on their own again.

[00:21:56] Uh, I agree that, uh, I think they need, need off the leash to, to, to allow them to do the games that they get back to mass. They're good at. Yeah. Which mass effect for is supposed to be that, but we'll see what happens. Yeah. Um, so unfortunately this is what happens when you go private equity. We all know that, you know, everything looks great up front.

[00:22:25] And then the second deal closes, it's like, okay, what are you going to do to make me money? Right. Right. How do I recruit some of this already? You know, now along these lines, EA is also trying to say that they're going to get a hundred million dollars in savings by adopting AI tools.

[00:22:50] Um, why do I have a feeling that's that they're, they're thinking that they're going to, they're going to save instead of spend more because all these companies out there that are dropping hard into AI, they're, they're eating up their AI budgets. Super quick. Yeah. Right. You know, so now is that because, uh, they don't have the, the storage or the centers to like, um, sustain using AI so much or.

[00:23:20] No, it's the, how much it costs to run them. Oh, even just to run, just to run them. Yeah. So like, what was it? Uber. Um, they spent their entire AI budget for a year inside of. I'm guessing on self-driving like for self-driving. Just AI automation. Like so much to this stuff. Like, oh, really? There's, I mean, there's such an AI boom right now with data centers and everything.

[00:23:49] But the problem is, is that there's a lot of costs that comes behind it. Yeah. You know, keeping these servers running and stuff and whatnot. So, um, why do I like they're doing, this is, this is not so like EA advertising. They're going to try and do that.

[00:24:11] Quote, unquote, a new platform transforming how brands connect with audiences through digital and real world experiences across this global portfolio of games. They are wanting to put ads in their way. Ads in their games. Oh, Jesus. Which is similar to what Xbox wants to do with game pass is make a version of it. That has ads. You know? Yeah. Oh, that would piss me off. Yeah.

[00:24:41] Yeah. Because they're following the whole thing with the, like the free phone app games. Uh-huh. Like after you've played for so long, here's an ad. Yeah, it's so annoying. Or watch ads for five minutes in order to get 15 minutes of play or something like that. Wow. Um, can I, God, this, why do I have a feeling like with EA wanting to do this?

[00:25:05] All I can think about is IOI putting all those ads into the Oasis. Illegally if they can fill up 95% of the screen with ads. Fill it up the screen. Yeah. 95, he said 95% of the screen will be ours in ads. Like. Yes. Uh, and don't worry. I think we're, we're covered in our insurance for seizures and just crap. Like, oh my God. Right.

[00:25:33] That was just so like grimy. It was a good scene. That was a good scene. Mm-hmm. Like seizures only equated to 15% of our users. Yeah, that's right. That's right. Damn. Yeah. So they're looking at like doing like chronic placement and crap. Dude, they need to make ready player two into a movie. Like it's been filming. That would be fun. Have they? What?

[00:26:03] Yeah. It's been filming. Oh, I didn't even know it was. Slowly. Oh yeah. I don't know if it got, if it got postponed, but as far as I know, it's been filming. It's been filming. It's definitely after, uh, no, I don't think that's ready player one.

[00:26:32] I know that, but I'm going to, oh, I listed for, oh yeah, pretty player two. At least not on IMDB. Yeah. There's nothing. Oh, really? Oh, I wonder, I wonder if it got stopped or they stopped production. No, there is no sequel, but a film adaptation is officially an act. It's still in development. Oh, it's still in development. Yeah.

[00:27:02] Oh my God. And it's something, something's been going wrong. So Spielberg isn't going to direct, but he's going to, yeah, something, something's gone wrong. They're thinking 20, 28 at the earliest. Wow. Okay. Starting production. You're starting filming. Yeah. Or for release. It's probably going to be until 2030 that it goes.

[00:27:27] But given that, how long it took Ernest Cline to adapt ready player one to a screenplay, it's going to, for ready player two, it's going to take a bit. Because he started immediately. He, like, that's what, like, he even did an interview that he started immediately after the release of the first movie, which was, uh, what year? Uh, dude, 2000, what? 17, 18. Are we really that far away from it?

[00:27:57] 2018 came out in 2018. Boom. Yeah. Yeah. Dang. Yeah. So it's been that long. So like, I, I swear, I could swear to you. I heard that they were, they were beginning production. It was either by like, maybe the actor or someone that they were, uh, about to begin production. And I thought it was. Yeah.

[00:28:23] Uh, slow, like being filmed, but oh man, no, I may have, it may hit a snag. Hell, at this point, you could remake ready player one with instead of nineties references, you do two thousands references. Yeah. That'd be funny. That'd be weird. That'd be so weird. Um, Oh man. Speaking of castings. Uh, yeah, I'm down dude.

[00:28:51] Uli, uh, lots of Kifu is going to be Ganondorf. Um, and anything else. So I, the rock, the rock show. He played the rock. Oh, okay. Yeah. He looks really different in the picture. Was he a lot younger in the rock show? In young rock? He was young rock. He played, uh, age 18 to 20 Dwayne rock. Yeah. John.

[00:29:21] And then he was in black Adam. Yep. Yeah. That was during the, it was during when the rock show was going on. Yeah. Covenant. He was a crewman in covenant. Yep. So he's been, I mean, honestly, from a looks perspective, I can, he, he can pull off Ganon. Um, and then he's got some chops dude. Yeah. Um, they also announced, uh, G-shin Lockman is going to be Impa.

[00:29:50] Oh, she's amazing. Oh, she's amazing. And Yvonne, uh, Shravosky is going to be. Um, also like great cat. Cause she's, I think once again, she is underrated and like, cause she is incredibly diverse. Um, she's, uh, David said what role she's playing, but she's in it. Uh, she was Miranda Lawson and mass effect. Yeah. Yeah. Oh yeah.

[00:30:21] Um, and they don't know what Sam Neill filmed for the role or for filmed for the movie. Either way. That's just good. That's going to be awesome to see him though. Like that's his last. And that was his last very absolute last performance. He actually just finished filming his stuff and then he passed away. Yeah. So, um, it'll be interesting, you know, just when you look at, you know, young link and young

[00:30:50] Zelda and whatnot. So, um, it's still like kind of worries me a little bit. It's like from the look of it. Oh no, dude. Breath of the wild. Uh, no, no. Uh, this is what I think you might have to be worried for. I think they're going to be, I think they might go with like an OG story, like maybe

[00:31:13] even, uh, like one or two, like classic having to, uh, battle Ganondorf. Like, I mean, like maybe hopefully like Ocarina of time. I doubt it. I think they're going straight, like a good guy versus like bad guy. And save the princess, you know, type of deal like one and two.

[00:31:38] But I think we're going to get the look of, uh, breath and tears of the wild. Like even like the Ganondorf look, unfortunately, I think they're going to merge. It is. It is. I think they're going to merge a lot. It is the director for the maze runner trilogy. That's doing this one. Um, he also, you know what? I really should, I really should give those a chance.

[00:32:07] Cause I haven't seen those kingdom. Have you seen the maze runner? I have not seen them. Any of them. Really? Yeah. Yeah. I like the original. I like the original and they kind of a little went downhill. Um, the book only because I really didn't know much about them. And I do know that it was based on a book series. I just didn't know much about it. So I just, just never watched it. Yeah.

[00:32:32] But I know I saw a lot of the actors I got like big from it and that are like currently, uh, rising style resonates with, um, hunting games or hunger games. Sorry. Hunger games. Oh, okay. I'll have to check them out. Yeah. So with that. Yeah.

[00:32:59] I'm, I'm, I'm curious of the story and direction. Um, it just, that's just my prediction and that's my feeling like that's the direction, Matt. So I'm just saying, I think be ready because I, I definitely think they're, they're going to be placating to a lot of like new fans. That's why I think you're right. The look is going to be very close to like breath and tears. Um, but I, the story I'm a little worried.

[00:33:28] I would be worried about a little bit. I have that feeling that they might be going to be a little bit. Yeah. Um, so that being said, we got announcements for new consoles. I am. Yeah. This was very surprising to me because I, at first I thought this was another AI deal. Uh, cause I first saw it on Tik TOK. I'm like, no way. Like, then it started coming up more and more. And then I was like, Oh crap. Those look good. Yeah.

[00:33:58] So here's the controller. I'm okay. Um, it does look cool. Yeah. I dude, I have my, uh, dual sense edge. I am. I am totally happy. So you're getting, I'm good. You're getting even, even if you'd instead of just the, uh, console, you wouldn't just get the controller. No, if anything, um, cause I am eventually planning to upgrade.

[00:34:26] Uh, I would, I would get these plates for the pro. Yeah. So they are coming out with a set of plates for the pro, which is, there aren't any right now. Um, I thought they had different colors. They'll, they have the classic colors and then, um, I believe the animantium, which is pretty cool, but I liked the classic black. Yeah. You're getting the animantium for that.

[00:34:54] Um, I like, but they didn't do a hint of blue. I do like the, the black and I like the, I like the, I like the, I like the animantium controller better. Yeah. Um, it is. Yeah, that is cool. So that looks more comic booky since you have the God of war controller and stuff. So that's the other thing I think if I was ever to get another controller, it would be that other God of war controller. Cause that's how big of a fan I am.

[00:35:19] I love Wolverine, but X and he is one of my favorite characters, if not one of like the most, but my love is for the X-Men, but I would definitely be down to get these face plates, the controllers, because now that I have my dual sense, I'm okay. I don't need to get any more extra. I keep it plugged in. I'm good. You know, I still feel like that they would benefit better if they did face plates for the controllers.

[00:35:51] Yes. I, cause I would definitely be down. I would do, I would definitely do that. I think, uh, I think PlayStation needs to give me some uncharted face plates and controllers. Funny thing. You mentioned that the, the, the way that, uh, the way that you actually have to change the thumbsticks on the dual sense edge. Um, there's a little face plate. Yeah. If they did like custom work, that would be cool. I'm yeah, I would definitely be down on that. Um, that'd be sweet.

[00:36:21] So what they're doing for price wise is they're going to be doing an, uh, PlayStation five, all digital, um, in that yellow is going to be six 50. Uh, it does not. And I want to emphasize this does not include a code for the game. Like G as just the, it's just the console. Okay. And then the yellow controller is going to be, uh, 84 and 99.

[00:36:54] That's the other thing about those new, the face plate controllers are going to be 75. Okay. Across the board. So they're only doing, uh, it looks like the pro in the, uh, they're doing, sorry. They're doing the pro and both colors, the adamantium and the, the yellow. Don't the standard slim is getting just the yellows.

[00:37:23] Oh, okay. And then you're going to have the dual sense, the 80 for $85, the adamantium controller as well, which, um, all these are limited editions given how fast, like Yotai sold out and some of the other sell out. If you're wanting this, you're going to want to jump on to the website, uh, August 19th.

[00:37:46] So if you want to get the, I do believe, uh, the, the Yotais, uh, did come back eventually for purchase. Right. It took, it took, Oh no, no, it just took a little, it took just a smidge longer for the gold ones to sell out over the black ones. You know, the black. Oh, but they, they never like raised, you had another like, Oh damn. Oh, they have not reprinted. I have to make a decision soon. Well, at least they're holding true to limited edition.

[00:38:16] Yeah. Dang. I haven't made decisions. And that's why I get annoyed by limited editions that get reprints all the time. Yeah. But then you can get like, well, I agree. I'd like the conflict. When we go to how special it is. That's yeah. So when you look at it, right. No, that's true. I get it. They've got a marathon controller, but that's been available for a while. That hasn't been very popular. Unfortunately. Yeah.

[00:38:47] Which that sucks. Unfortunately. And then of course they've got the, the bond controller. That one's cool. I just know. I'm good. It is cool though. I like it. I like the, the logo on it, but it's ugly color as well. It's a little too simple. Honestly, I think like, and I also questioned why they didn't go the classic.

[00:39:11] Like I would at least like black and white or make it like gun metal, metallic white, like play with the logo. So if I were to have designed it, I would have done black and white as well. I would have put the double Oh seven logo on the handle on the side on the right. And cool. And put the James Bond figure looking down the gun barrel in the center. Oh, cool. Okay. That's what I would have liked that.

[00:39:41] I mean, this one's just, that would have been cool. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Simple. Yeah. Agreed. So, but the same, the same could be said about that God of war one, but I like it. And it's, it's just a tattoo. It's better for Indiana Jones. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

[00:40:07] So right now, at least those pro, those pro covers are going to be the first ones for the pro. Otherwise they're just normal slim. Oh, the gradients. So right now you've got just the solid colors. Okay. Oh, for the, you know, for the slim, um, there's no covers for the pro. So the, the Wolverine ones are going to be the first ones. Oh, okay. Um, so we'll see how that goes.

[00:40:35] Um, again, PlayStation just needs to give me some uncharted ones because here's the thing is if they come out with uncharted plates and a controller for the PS five, I will replace my Yotais. Just saying. It's fair. But I mean, at the same time, you're either, they're either needing to come out with a new game or yet another re-release of the entire series.

[00:41:01] Not even that let's do like a, Hey, we're going to, they wouldn't do just the place. Just because why not do something like an anniversary type thing? Like we're going to do uncharted. We're going to do ratchet and clank. Like we're going to do Jack and Daxter, Sly Cooper kills, like do it as an homage to your, your, your past franchises. Why not? I mean, I know I just, but like, I can understand that it makes sense. So, cause this is, you have more options.

[00:41:30] Oh, I see it now. I'm doing it. So that's dope. Oh, that's cool. I missed the see-through with the plates. They are see-through. So you can actually see the fan and everything, which honestly is not a bad idea. Cause then you can blow that thing out from an angle, you know, but yeah, they look, looks kind of cool. Dang it. That's pretty cool. Is it see-through or mesh? It's looks like it's see-through. I would like it better if it was mesh.

[00:42:03] So either way, I mean the plates, they look, they look nice, but mesh would help with cooling. And then by all means you get to do what you said, like you just get to blow it out. Hmm. So yeah, I like it now. Um, with that, here's the other thing. PlayStation has started putting stickers on their PS5s. Now the time has come.

[00:42:31] Like, they are doubling down the end of discs. So they're really, they are now putting stickers on their, um, consoles does say from January, 2028, newly released games on PlayStation will be available for purchase on the PlayStation store and at retailers in digital format only. I take it. This is on the retail box of the console. These are on the retail boxes of the consoles. Yes. Okay.

[00:43:04] I was gonna say, it doesn't make sense to be on the console itself. Cause like, oh, here's a sticker. That's also, it's been reported that, um, they're getting, they're putting the same exact thing onto the disc drives. Uh, that makes sense. Okay. Oh, that, uh, the disc drives have a, uh, lifespan now. The attachment. Oh, dang. So on direct, you know, be full use for it anymore. Unless you keep your discs. Okay.

[00:43:33] So I'd have to buy that also. Dang it. You might want to wait. Don't you have a disc drive for yours though? Oh yeah, but you're getting the OG. I'm getting a pro. Yeah. I'm getting a pro. You're gonna need to get a pro. In my personal opinion, I would say wait, because by the time they stop production on discs, they will, they need to get rid of this, uh, the. Oh, if you. Well, actually, yeah. I would say those are probably already ramping those down.

[00:44:04] So because. If they do, but, but yeah, base if they do already, but you're right, they will have a surplus if they don't change the price. So that's good. You're right. Or at least yeah. Black Friday to go for it. Yeah. I will say it's like when they discontinued the camera, like you could find surplus out there and then all of a sudden poof, they disappeared and you can't find them anywhere unless you go to eBay and they're, they're pricey. Okay.

[00:44:30] So yeah, no, and I even like GameStop wants like 70 or 80 bucks now for something that was 50 bucks. You know, that's why they're called GameScout. Yeah. Um, but now that this is starting to show up in the wild, it's like we, the, the times come. Oh, they're, they're really on this. Cause I just saw on my feed, uh, on my TikTok feed that there was, and this is for real,

[00:44:58] I guess that there was a petition going on, uh, protesting, you know, to postpone the, you know, physical disc thing with Sony. Yeah. Yeah. Like over 200,000 people or something like that. Like they was like real numbers. And, uh, you know, I just, I was hoping there was going to be some sort of, you know, response or drive to it, but no, if they're just doubling down, we'll have to say that I don't have ideas

[00:45:24] otherwise, but I mean, the sticker is rather disappointing with how it was executed because it's small print. Nobody's going to fricking read it. Nobody's going to read it. It's just going to say, okay. Like you just caught this on your feed randomly. Right, Matt? It was an article like, but yeah. Okay. Oh, well at least, okay. At least it's getting some publication. Like it's out there, but here's, I mean, you're still, let's talk real numbers. If you're an average consumer and you go to the box and you see like, Oh, oh, you're

[00:45:54] not going to, no one's going to read that. I mean, neither. I haven't either. So let's be honest though. I, yes, I get it. 200,000 people have signed a petition, but there's been 95.3 million PS fives that have been sold worldwide as of end of June. Okay. Right. And I also want to throw something else out there. Cause I, I guess a lot of like streamers and like YouTubers are, are like sending out

[00:46:21] the consensus that like the PS five is the final Sony product they're buying. And so I guess like, they're also protesting to, to, to, um, I call bullshit to not purchase the PS six, I guess, you know, I'll call bullshit. Yeah. They're going to, they're just doing this for clout and they'll purchase a Sony entertainment movie off of somewhere and still be supporting. Yeah.

[00:46:51] But I think at the end of the day, right. Is if they're really that much to boycott Sony, they're going to boycott everything. Like, that's the thing is like, all these people are like, I'm not supporting Sony anymore.

[00:47:06] I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not, I'm not going to buy the PS six when it comes out in two years. Okay. Let's be honest. None of us are going to be able to afford until things blow over then I, Oh, I upgraded, you know, it was, but it was cheap. I couldn't say no to the deal.

[00:47:35] Like whatever, but I agree. Yeah. If I can afford it when it comes out, I'll get a PS six. Uh, I think I would, I think I might be the light, the late one in the group. I think it's, I'm not getting it at launch. I am not also like, I don't think so at launch, but if it's like $1,400, it might take me a minute, like to even go because it's, it's definitely going to be full digital. And so that's going to be, that's going to be different for me.

[00:48:07] That's why I want to keep. Oh no. Yeah. That's, that's why I want to, I want to upgrade to the pro. I'm going to keep that for a while, but yeah. Yeah. Either way. Even then though, right. The original right is like the price tag that's going to be on that thing. Oh, absolutely. True. Yeah. That's, that's a lot to ask. Even if it comes out in the end of next year, I would, I would definitely plan on like a payment plan or something. Yeah. I can wait.

[00:48:35] It's like with the switch to the whole reason I haven't gotten it is because to get a proper set up is going to run me almost a grand. Hmm. Um, also, uh, on that front rumor mills blowing up that, uh, there is going to be some sort of Zelda version coming, uh, being announced. I think I've seen the, I hope I do hope that's real, but I, you know, also may call bullshit,

[00:48:59] but I'm just hoping I'm just setting out the, the rumors are out there, but a lot of, a lot of it's going out that, that we're getting a, a Zelda additions, that Zelda additions switch to an Ocarina of time are still not enough for me to buy a switch to right now. I would at least consider, uh, getting the console. If the Zelda version came out. Nope. Because here's the thing is if I get that, I have to get all the accessories and everything

[00:49:28] to get my kids set up with it. That's a grand. See, I, I don't, I can just go with the console. So you not use switch one pro on switch to. Oh yeah. You can use switch one games. No. So switch one pro controller. You can use the pro controller strictly for switch one games, but anything switch to you cannot use. Yeah. Okay. You have to get a switch to pro control. Yeah. Right. Those are $90. Yeah.

[00:49:57] I can wait on that. I'm just down for the, I'm just looking to get the console. Um, and then, uh, most likely my first game will be star Fox. Definitely. So Mario cart world. No. Oh, here we go. Let me just, I'll show the screen really quick. Um, PTSD.

[00:50:26] No, no, not Mario cart world. Oh God. So here's what they're saying. It's bigger. It's larger. So here's, here's the picture. See, I didn't hear it. I didn't hear it. Gold. Yeah. See though. Yeah. See, that looks dope. I'm sorry. You know, I may be, I may be a Zelda fanatic, but that looks dope to me.

[00:50:55] I'm designing designing these, uh, consoles. They've got some imagination. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And that's what the pro controller. That looks cool too. That looks cool too. Well, I would wait on that or I would, I would definitely like, I would hunt for it. So, and what's given credence to this is because they have multiple boxes in this picture. Right. But that could also, that could also be fabricated though. Correct.

[00:51:22] It just, it just like, it's very good work, which is why I like, it's questionable. Yeah. Yeah. So it looks, yeah, it looks cool. Yeah. I'm at the same point, like as much as I do love Zelda and stuff like that, I'm not going to drop a grand, you know? Oh yeah.

[00:51:51] Totally, totally get it. And even then, like my switch people that do. Yeah. And like, like I said, I would just be getting the console for the most part. And maybe, like I said, maybe one game would be, which would be Star Fox. Um, like my switch. No, not at first. I'm good. You don't play a dock very much. Uh, actually I used to play a dock all the time and now I've actually been taking it to work.

[00:52:21] So I've been going handheld a little bit more. Now I just don't play my switch. Same. I've been playing. I've been playing a couple. Yeah. I mean, I might take it on the plane with me for my trip to Colorado for Labor Day weekend. But my switch hasn't. Me personally playing my switch. I haven't done since Christmas. Wow. Oh, wow. No, I've been taking it out here and there. I haven't touched Animal Crossing or anything like that.

[00:52:49] Like my boys play my switch because of Shredder's Revenge and a couple other games that are only on my switch. Right. But what about, um, uh, Final Fantasy Tactics? Uh, I haven't played it since I played it like on my switch, like, because I also went and picked up a copy on my PlayStation. That was in February or March, sir. Was it February or March? Dang. I just have a point. Okay. So even then though, like.

[00:53:19] It's still been a while. Okay. So it's still been six months at least since I played my switch. Yeah. Um, I just don't have any interest. Like. Yeah. I've been kind of Jones in for a Marvel ultimate Alliance. So I may fire up the switch to play that because I actually might. I actually might get two games. What's the two games games?

[00:53:48] Um, actually, that's why I've actually waited to buy it because I do. I want to buy it on switch to, uh, I would get star Fox and then Marvel cosmic, uh, Alliance or cosmic invasion. Why don't I just get that on the PlayStation? That's what I know. I want to get it on the switch to. Why? Okay. Uh, specifically the switch to it's the type. I mean, it's the type of like side scroller adventure game that I really kind of enjoy more on like an, a Nintendo product.

[00:54:17] It's, it's a little bit more arcadey. So I kind of enjoy with the handhelds a little bit more Nintendo. I don't know why it's kind of a preference thing. Okay. Yeah. That's why I haven't gotten on, um, PlayStation. I definitely would have, cause there was a deluxe version, which was dope. It came with a steel buck, but it also came in the, um, switch to version two. So I might have to hunt for that. Can I just throw it out there?

[00:54:46] Why don't you just get it on the switch one? I want to get on the switch because I want to have a couple games for the switch two and that it would, that would be two. Cause I'm not really getting anything. Yeah. Which one games play on switch two. It would, it would. I just want a couple games in the switch too. Okay. Let's start off options. If you change your mind about waiting. Right. Totally. Totally. I mean, just throwing it out there.

[00:55:14] It's on sale at best buy right now for the switch one. Shut up. Oh, shut up. Shut up. 25, 25 99 right now. I hate you. Ooh, that's a good deal. Dang it. Good deal. That is a good deal. It's normally, uh, at best buy for just the switch one version. It's normally 40. Shut your face. So it's $14 off right now. Oh God. Wow. Switch two will still run you 50 for it.

[00:55:44] Oh God. You're so annoying. You're so right. That's a good deal. Okay. I'll have to think about that. Just saying. You're so stupid. I hate you. You'll love me. What are you here for? Are you saving your money, sir? Exactly. Oh God. No. $15 could go up to that switch two. That's true. That's true. It's just annoying. Mm-hmm. But that is a good deal. Damn it. Yeah. Yeah. I'll have to think about it. What's $15 for a switch two?

[00:56:14] Like 5%? You're getting 5% off your switch two. See, here's the thing is, if you wait, then you're spending four or 500 bucks. True. 500 because you know, I mean, if that Zelda one is true, it's going to be like 500 ish, 550. Right. Oh. So you're going to be spending 550 so you can play a $26 game that's on sale. Ew. Ew. Well, you know what?

[00:56:43] I'll wait for Black Friday. We'll see. We'll see how, if it gets discounted. There's also that. There are options. As long as you know, there's nothing wrong with patience. So maybe I'll just wait. Patience is hard, sir. Patience is hard. It is. But you know what? As of late, I've really had to learn it and exercise it. So I am. Bro, I'm right there with you.

[00:57:12] I feel like I'm not succeeding at it, but I'm trying. I am six. I feel like I am succeeding. It is. But it is a great. It is a definitely a grind and you just really have to kind of breathe it out and just after my last figure purchase, I'm putting all that stuff on hold for a while unless I absolutely find one. I have to honestly. Yeah. For me, the biggest thing on figures, like honestly, the only things I'm really looking for are 97. I'm back on 97.

[00:57:42] And then like obviously the random turtle run, maybe because I like that's I'm back on my art, not though. Like I'll probably pick up art books for the games that I really like, you know? Yeah, same. But there's like I only have a finite number that I want to get to really just complete like the franchise, pretty much the franchises we love that I just want to finish up. But yeah, I mean, it's just 97 figures.

[00:58:11] What I haven't had patience with is getting the poster for my for my apartment just because of the fact is it feels it really feels like home in me now. Like that's good on the wall. Like it feels me, you know, nice. Like old school me that loved movies and everything and whatnot. So it's good, bro. Um, well, anyways, Jerry, what you been watching? What you been playing?

[00:58:40] Um, let's see. Oh, well, I finished season one of sugar. That was really good. I need to start the second season, but I started, um, the first season of paradise and I started the second season immediately because it really hooked me. It is a pretty damn good. That's the one that's on Hulu, right? Yeah, it's on Hulu. And, uh, yeah, John Marston did a great job.

[00:59:08] Like every, everyone is like really good. Shailene Woodley is doing a great job. The premise is something along the lines with like the president United States and like some sort of event happens that he's in a bunker or something for a while. And then it's not just him. It's a, it's an entire, like, um, like the species survival, like survival species. Oh, God. Like it was, uh, I believe like 25 or like 35,000 people that were selected and meant to survive in the bunker.

[00:59:38] And it's a fully functional, like, um, like dystopian neighborhood, like, uh, shops, everything. Make everyone feel like normal. And, uh, man, dude, the way they kind of incorporate all of it is, um, like kind of eerie. Like it, like that could, it feels like it could happen, but, um, it's very, it's very cool. How everything's put together. So yes, that show.

[01:00:03] And, uh, I've been kind of, I, um, because really all I've been playing is a halo with Matt as like kind of our online thing, which, uh, Theo, I'm missing you, but we got to find something. All of us got to play. Um, but, uh, I've been cycling through games just kind of like, that'd be cool. Uh, cause dude, I, I need a refresher.

[01:00:27] I really would like to like learn more and like, uh, even to maybe mess with some of the cards that I have, but, uh, I've been cycling through games. Like I I've been playing a little bit of Indiana Jones and I just reloaded cyberpunk. I think I'm going to start a little bit of that. I guess I'm kind of eager for, um, I'm getting kind of eager for Onimusha and Wolverine really Wolverine.

[01:00:52] And then what was your, your muted, uh, what's Onimusha again? Oh dude. Also huge recommend to play the first and third game. If you ever get the chance, I think you can find them on PlayStation, but, um, it was definitely

[01:01:14] one of the first like kind of dark souls S kind of games where, you know, um, the, the, the perfect dodge and slice was like, uh, it was like, and a one slice kill was like kind of a thing. And then the perfect Perry, um, was kind of like the attack system and all of that. And then you, you could, uh, button slash, uh, uh, light and heavy attack, but it was

[01:01:43] very much always based on in, um, like feudal Japan samurai era, but then like demon and sorcerer like kind of resonant evil kind of feeling kind of a game. And, and honestly, and, uh, the, the best character was the first character, uh, Samanosuke, which was, uh, in the first game and the third game with, um, oh man, what was he in that you would remember?

[01:02:12] Do you remember? Uh, have you ever seen the professional? It was a very indie movie with, uh, a young Natalie Portman. Um, God, uh, Uh, I love the movie. Oh, so the, so you know, the actor, uh, Jane Renault, he was also, uh, so this was also kind of a first, uh, you played two characters in the third game. You played him who ended up getting a gauntlet with a whip, uh, whip kind of, uh, um, demon,

[01:02:43] um, weapon. And then Samanosuke with, uh, different other different weapons that you got throughout the game. And then that was the other thing about it. You found, um, separate different weapons that you can upgrade kind of like what is the, uh, um, standard in, in games today in that kind of realm. So it's kind of an OG, but, uh, yeah, the, uh, fourth game I can't wait for, um, I have

[01:03:10] that preordered and it looks like it's going back to its roots because the further it went down the last game was just like pitifully awful. Oh, wow. Okay. Like, like really awful. It was bad. Hmm. So that's interesting. But, uh, I would definitely check out the first and third game. I feel like at least with the, it being an older game, I feel like I'd have to get used to like something like Elden Ring before I dive into that.

[01:03:42] Hmm. No, it's, it'll probably, it might be a little easier for you. Okay. It was kind of, it was kind of soul's delight. It was easier. No, no, no, no. Oh, Elden Ring is still difficult. Uh, no, it's, this is more, it's more on the like tone and look. Um, and it was kind of like the, like inspiration for further games to lead to kind of like Elden Ring and that tone. So, um, yeah.

[01:04:10] So you might see some similar elements like, oh, this kind of feels like this game. It's like, that's because they probably drawn inspiration from that, that game. So I definitely recommend it. It's, it's a, it's fun, but sorry. I went on the tangent there. Uh, yeah. Yeah. Who's next? Theo. Yeah. Fair. Uh, haven't been playing anything. Um, just, uh, some reason my health has been all over the place.

[01:04:39] So it's lots of trying to rest and everything. And, uh, I've still been reminiscing with, uh, movies with my parents. Like each night we take turns choosing what we watch. Nice. We recently did watch, uh, Project Hail Mary. How was that? With Ryan Gosling. So good, wasn't it? It was actually really good. It was so good. I, I actually watched it twice. It was so good.

[01:05:08] I thought it was just so natural and like, like ragged and everything. But I mean, the, the way that they wrote Ryan Gosling's character and the way that they filmed and edited the film just made it so. I'm very curious on the development of his character. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's just really good. And I was impressed with like that. The trailers definitely didn't give anything really away.

[01:05:36] Um, and that there was so much more context to the movie. It was just really well executed. Yeah. I'd recommend it. Because I think you're right. I think there's a lot of, there was a lot of dangerous parts of the movie that could have felt like they were dragged or there was like dead silence or there could have been like, it may have been a dry joke or something, but dude, he nailed it. And like, that's why I'm very.

[01:06:06] The emotions is so. Yeah. That's why I'm very curious on like the development of the character. Cause like, you know, to hit that kind of comedic, like that. So those subtle jokes that were like, really? Like I thought that was to keep you good. Continuing on to the story. We're like, that's difficult. And to like relay that tone on film and, and like for the movie, like they all hit, like that's why it was very solid. Yeah.

[01:06:35] And man, like you, you will tear up. We, regardless of what, like you see it's dude, it's good. It was a good movie. I remember correctly. I actually think it's included on Amazon prime right now. It is. Dude. Masters. If you haven't seen it, I would definitely check. Yeah. Reluctant. Dude. I saw it twice too. It's fun. No, Joe.

[01:07:03] I also feel like I heard a rumor that there's also another recent he man movie. That's masters of the universe. It was actually called he man. No, I did not know. There's. There's. Well, hold on. No, the Dolph Lundgren was masters as well. I caught it in passing. I was just saying that it was relatively recent, but they said it was not the same as masters of the universe.

[01:07:30] Cause that was the one that supposedly sucks. But I don't know. I can do. I thought was still it's, it has its charm. And then Frank going Jella who Langella who was a Skeletor. I think he, he definitely outshined everyone in the movie. He was amazing. Um, but I mean, it was an eighties, like it was considered an eighties, like epic action

[01:07:54] flick, you know, those movies, you know, aren't taken seriously and they, they give it a fixed budget and like, that's what it was. And like, it was charming. Like, that's why it's still kind of like, it has its light today, but it was, it was bad. I'm looking at the, the, uh, cast list. You got Courtney early Courtney Cox, you know? No, I mean masters of the universe. Oh, like, oh, the newer one.

[01:08:24] Oh dude. That one, that one was fun. Like no joke cast. It shows all a lot of the characters from the universe. It looks great. And honestly, Leto did not really, uh, disappoint. Um, he actually was a decent Skeletor. Um, yeah, I, it was for me, it was just a solid, fun action movie to go see. I would definitely go see a sequel. All right. Yeah.

[01:08:54] Speaking of potentially bad movies that I haven't seen yet. Have either of you watched Supergirl? Yes. Yes. I signed the theaters. Yeah. It's not great. It's okay. It's okay. Like it's, it's not bad, but you know, there, it has its problems. Once again, it's fun, but, uh, you will see, you will see some problems. Like, I actually didn't think the newest Superman was that great either.

[01:09:21] So like, I feel definitely about that. I think the Superman, the legacy movie, I think that one was much better and in, and, in much greater tone, I left that movie feeling uplifted and like, you know, like for the franchise. Yeah. Like, you know, kind of like how I, how I saw returns and like, and, and the Christopher Reeve

[01:09:47] movies, you know, I left uplifted and moving forward and like, it was, it was good. It was solid too, but super cool. I love it's problems. I love Superman. Like the new one. Yeah. Supergirl. I liked how they wrote the character. I just feel like the story wasn't that great. I think my only reason to defend it is it was it's open and this was to kind of pave

[01:10:15] the way for the DC universe, uh, and for it not to be so direct story. Like you already know who Clark is. That's also the other thing. Why I agreed with it with that moment too. We don't have to go through like, oh, I don't mean they, the parents found them. We know. So I have not, like, yeah, I have not read woman of tomorrow. So I don't know. Okay. Like I have it, like I need to read it. Yeah. Um, so I don't know. I've seen the variant, uh, uh, comics episode of it. Yeah.

[01:10:45] So I don't know what the side by side comparison would be is a lot of people have said, you know, watch the movie first, then go read the comic. No. Okay. Oh, actually. Yes. Cause then you won't be as disappointed. Yes. That's that's right. Um, it's your saying. Who knows? That's right. I would give like, for me, if I'm being honest with Supergirl, like I, I, I did really like it and stuff like that, but it hit a little differently for me.

[01:11:11] Um, because like tone wise, tone wise, because it dealt a lot with, with grief and like the whole wanting to just scream into the void. Like, you know, it, it deals with how people just go off rails with dealing with grief in different ways. So I think for me, it hit a lot differently. Um, if I take that out of the equation, take those emotions out for me, I'd give it a, like a, a seven or seven and a half.

[01:11:41] If like, I feel like that's not that low. Um, that's like an average. I would say that's, I would say that's leaning towards a recommend. Would you say recommend? I'd recommend a watch on it. Yeah. Like I'm not going to recommend, I'm not going to recommend the flash. Okay. Oh no. Just YouTube. All the Batman scenes. That's all. That's all you need to do. Like, I'm not going to recommend. Sorry. Wonder woman.

[01:12:11] 84. Oh man. It's not even. I own it too. And I really wanted to like it, but watch then. Wonder woman 84. Like it's actually worth seeing at least. Yeah. Yeah. Whereas one 84 is like, you could live without it completely. Just like I own green Lantern and I don't have that. I don't know. They're written. I don't have that one. I still say green Lantern.

[01:12:40] It was better. It's better than wonder woman. 84. Also. Also true. Okay. That is also true. I just haven't. I just haven't. I haven't purchased it yet. It was a $5 movie. Exactly. I missed the $5 like window. Like just like the flash. It was $5. I'm like, you know what? It's worth $5. Yeah. I haven't gotten that either. Yeah. Yeah. Same. Like if I ever see it, like, okay, I'll do that. Like I don't want it for five. That's cool.

[01:13:10] But no, I've just missed out on that. Yeah. I mean, it's not, it's not like superb by any means. Like, I mean, I would have given it like a 5.5 or a six. I don't know. Like for me, it's on the same level as it from, I hate to say this for me personally, it's on the same level as Batman versus Superman and justice league. Okay. Interesting.

[01:13:38] Honestly, honestly, I kind of agree with that. Cause like, I kind of liked that movie, but then it had its problems. It had its holes. It absolutely had its problems. Yeah. But they were fun. I would say that's a single watch, not necessarily repeated. I mean, I would, to be perfectly honest, it was enjoyable enough that I would see it a second time. I mean, like if I saw it on discount, yeah, I would buy it enough to buy it. Oh, I'm not buying it at the price they want to. No, no, not right now.

[01:14:08] But, uh, 25 or something right now. Yeah. 25. Um, but I would buy it on discount and I would definitely give it another watch. Cause like it was enjoyable. But like I said, as a whole, as a movie, I would give it like a mediocre, like a 5.5 to 6. I would recommend it. Same with Batman V Superman. Cause I would say the same. I would recommend it over Spider-Man three. Oh man. That's rough. Spider-Man three. Yes. That one's rough too. Like.

[01:14:38] And that damn dance. Yeah. God, that dance. So the hair, the hair, sorry. Yeah. How about you? What you been playing, dude? So that's a good segue. So that's a really good segue because. Good segue. Good one. With brand new day, which for me, like brand new day, you come out brand new day one. For me, it's like $30. Yes. Oh, jump. I love brand new day. So great. So great. Oh yeah. Oh, definitely. I'll buy that day off.

[01:15:09] So because of brand new day. Um, I can guess where this is going. Like, so I did really go back and I've actually, cause remember, I never did restart the rewatch on the Tobey Maguire trilogy. Oh, right. Okay. I only did Andrew Garfield. I did Tom Holland. I didn't do Tobey. Right. Dude. Spider-Man one does not fucking hold up. Oh, like it's fun, but like, I guess I need to rewatch it. Cause I still feel like. Yeah.

[01:15:39] It does, but I can understand that. It is 25 years old. Think of it this way. Uh, Theo, the movie was like, think of it this way. Like a lot of it was on stage. So a lot of the sets were like kind of fake and fabricated where you can kind of see it. And then all the outside. It's very TV show stage-esque. Yeah. Where it's going to be, it's going to feel different to a whole nother building. Now don't get me wrong. Like that. That's obvious.

[01:16:09] It's great. It's going to feel different compared to like what we've been, I think used to now. Yeah, exactly. I think for me that when I look at it, so you're definitely going to feel the, the time, the day, like, God, it's dated. It is so fucking dated. Man. 2000. What was it? 2001. 2001. 2001. Man. I'll never forget that. That was high school. Oh God. Was Spider-Man two, which is fantastic. Like I just finished watching that one.

[01:16:36] And that one actually surprisingly does hold up kind of well, but the CGI is still like early 2000s CGI. Yeah. You know, but it was still pretty good CGI for the time, especially the time. I still think that was the better one out of the, out of the three. For me, it's the story. Like. Yeah. Number two or number one. Yeah. I think two was way better out of the three. Yeah. I'm, I'm okay with the story.

[01:17:02] I just feel like how they wrote MJ as well as how it's portrayed by Kristen Dunst in, in two ruined it. I feel, I feel like she's the main contributor to why it ruined the story. Hey, I agree. I feel like she's not, that was kind of, I feel like that was kind of a sign of the times. Remember that she was a good MJ in one. No, she wasn't a good thing at all. Like I, I, I, yeah, I don't think she was a really good one.

[01:17:32] That was the time though, is like, you're going to have this temple type title. You want to have two of the youngest, hottest though people in Hollywood at the time be your cast. So yeah. So like, they really weren't considering the story, the character, like who emulates the character. Now they were going for more like, uh, these are like the upcoming actors. Like James Franco. Yeah. And Frank, yeah. He wasn't a great Harry. That being, that being said, he was okay.

[01:18:01] Willem Dafoe, you go back and you watch that performance again. And once again, that was the, that was the diamond in the rough that came out of it. He really was, he played a great villain. Like even for a Sam Raimi verse, like look at how it translated to, um, uh, no way home. Oh my God. He was sadistic looking personality. Yeah.

[01:18:27] I mean, there was obviously that gem that came out of it. Yeah. You look at two with Alfred Molina as doc. Like that was again, strong, very strong villains, strong performance that also translated to new, which was great. That, but story wise in like just all performances for me, I think for me, I think for me, the Andrew Garfield movies hold up a lot better from a story perspective and everything than the Toadmoke. Yeah. Okay.

[01:18:56] But anyway, so with that, um, I, I decided that I'm going to go do some trophy hunting because my kids have decided to go trophy hunting. My youngest finished plucky squire on his own. Oh, cool. Okay. Completely finished it. He got the last two trophies and he's like, why didn't I get the platinum? Oh, I was like, dude, you got to go get the rest of the stuff. You got to go find this dude.

[01:19:26] And he's like, okay, cool. Where are they? So he like, he wants to go for the platinum on that. Um, my oldest is going for the, trying to go for the platinum on Lego Batman. Oh, okay. He's not, he's not far off. He's got like seven trophies left. So I was like, okay, screw it. I was going to leave well enough alone with Spider-Man. That is funny. Apple doesn't fall far from the tree because they're doing it.

[01:19:53] I was like, I can't have them doing this and leave a hundred leave Spider-Man not sitting at a hundred percent. So, um, I think it would only be worse if they platinum it before you before. Yeah. I already have the platinum. I have the platinum for Spider-Man. I just don't have one. I didn't have a hundred percent on the, the other trophies for it. So like all the DLC content. Okay.

[01:20:18] So I went back through and I got the ultimate on the taskmaster challenge, a hundred hit combo finishing off a base. Um, cause I remember you posting that thing about that long slide or whatever the swing or. Oh yeah. That was Spider-Man too. I'm playing Spider-Man. This is number one. Like I went back to the first one. Um, yeah.

[01:20:42] So the only thing I've got left to do now is go through a new game plus on ultimate. Oh, you know, I started that. I also have a separate play through a new game plus that I'm going through that is strictly to play with the boys because they really want to see the story. Oh, cool. Um, they're really asking about the characters and stuff like that. So I'm like, well, let's go and do it.

[01:21:08] Um, so once we're done with that one, I'll do another replay of miles Morales. Nice. And then I'll go for the, uh, last trophy for a hundred percent on Spider-Man two, which is just a new game plus. That's not bad. Um, so outside of that, it's just been halo. Nice. Yeah. Um, which Jerry and I have are working slowly through that on multiplayer campaign.

[01:21:37] I've got on my single player campaign. I've got like three missions left. Okay. And thankfully, uh, uh, you have all the look, uh, lookups on YouTube and you have remembered a lot of the locations of the skulls and the turtles. So on my, on our run, I'm like catching up. So it's been, it's been nice. And I got, yeah, I think as I was discussing with you, Matt, like I don't get all the uproar. Like, I think the game looks great. It's awesome. It feels awesome.

[01:22:07] You know, it's still crazy that we're, you know, we're playing it on a PlayStation. Yeah. Yeah. It's awesome. But, uh, yeah, I don't get it. I think a lot of people are just, I don't know if they're trolling or if they're just genuinely aren't happy with games lately. Cause, uh, it's, it's amazing. It's awesome. It looks great. Maybe they, maybe just the large uproars by the majority that haven't played it originally. Maybe that too.

[01:22:33] And maybe, you know, they could, in a way they could feel that it's like a small game when it's supposed to feel vast and big. Yeah. True. Cause like, I mean, technically the levels and all that, they're pretty small. I mean, but they're based on came out. What? When he, 2001. Yeah. Yeah. So 25 years ago. So I mean, entire generation at least. Yeah.

[01:22:59] So, I mean, that's why I like, I don't, I, maybe they're, you know, getting used to it or they don't understand like, oh no, like this is what it was like back then. But. You know, yeah, I, I'd get curious whether it could be a, I don't know. The translation type of thing. The millennials and all the people hating it are like Gen Z or Gen Alpha. Yeah, exactly. Which, which sucks. Cause I, you know, I would hope, I would hope they would be a little bit more open to try the original version of it.

[01:23:25] But, um, it's, you know, I just hope it doesn't deter from doing the other, uh, the other games. Cause I would really like the other games remastered like this. Cause that would be so cool. And like, don't, don't even stop with like two and three, like, even like Matt's, Matt's, uh, suggested to, uh, dude reach and ODST like down. I would be down to buy and get the all on PS five. Absolutely.

[01:23:54] Have a little halo section, a physical game halo section in my, in my little collection book. Hell yeah. That's not going to happen in time before they stop production. No, no, no, you're absolutely right. But I shouldn't get my hopes up, but it just won't be physical, sir. Well, maybe, maybe two, maybe two. But they're going to continue to do discs. So I think, okay. And, uh, I think, I think Capcom said that too.

[01:24:24] Uh, Capcom said they're going to continue with, uh, physical as well. That's going to push people to Xbox. And the director for, uh, Final Fantasy seven for the third one, he said he wants that game to be physical as well. Yes. Because the other two have been. So anyway, so we digress. We go off rails all the time. So anyways, um, I want to thank everyone for crashing game night with us tonight. Like what you heard drops, follow head on over to crashing game night.com.

[01:24:49] Uh, you know, for all our past guests and the platforms were listed on, but as always, guys, just be excellent to each other. That's right. Everyone. We just want to send out once again, that same message, uh, please. Uh, it's still crazy out there and it's only getting crazier. Um, let's just try to continue, try to survive with, uh, one another. Um, let's try to, uh, lend a hand when we see an opportunity.

[01:25:18] And, uh, let's just try to do and be better out there and, uh, stay safe. And, uh, you know what? I'm going to take the reins here for, for the theater, but the man, my man, Theo Walski. Take it like you do. Hey, you threw out the last name and everything. Wow. That's right, baby. You got it right there already, but I, I, I wanted to say the full name. I blasted it. It's fine. It's not like I'm hiding anything.

[01:25:46] Uh, and also if you look at my name, Jason's going to hate it, but I made it my own. Anyways, that's why. All right, y'all. Thank you for watching. Thanks for listening. Until next time. TTFN. That's up for now. See you. You see what Jason likes? I like it. I like it.
