[00:00:08] Welcome to Crashing Game Night. My name is Matt DiOrio, your host as always. We are joined by the beanied one fighting for democracy, Gerard Barrera. That's right baby! Ooh, ooh was that a little foreshadowing? Ooh I like it, I like it! But hey what's up nerds, how are all of you out there? It's been a minute. All of the boys are out here. What's up? How's it going?
[00:00:35] We got the babyface one, Theowalski. I feel like Jerry just ruined the surprise by saying that it was foreshadowing since he already went over that there is something to surprise me with. But yeah, we'll see. But it's okay. It's alright. And then we got our man with the couch, the matrigist versus our Rip Van Winkle, the man, the myth, the legend, Jason Bellidio.
[00:01:03] How's it going guys? How's it going? I have no idea what that foreshadowing was. You stole my title of Rip Van Winkle, man. You used to be mean. I have no idea what that foreshadowing was. Ooh, I got some news for you boys. Yeah, yeah, I can't wait. So, real quick, real quick. What's up? I need to give a shout out to my tuning shop back home, Flatirons Tuning. Oh, cool.
[00:01:33] I'm finally starting to use the mug that I was sent along with some of their other stuff. But they said, is that the, for the viewers and everyone, is that the Subaru company? So, Flatirons Tuning is the tuning shop arm of Flatirons Subaru in Boulder, Colorado. They also run the rally team, the race car team that the owner of Flatirons Scott Crouch races.
[00:01:59] So, they're a great shop. They were kind enough to send me a big old care package when I was going through recovery. And this was one of the items. Oh, that's cool. It is finally cold enough here in Virginia to start drinking. Drinking some coffee or the tea or just something warm in general. It is a rainy, cool 62 degrees right now. Rainy, cool. Ooh. Yeah. Dang. So, but yeah.
[00:02:29] I like that combo. I'll be rocking the, my Flatirons. I think Virginia softened you a little bit. In 62 is cool enough. Here it is because it's the humidity and everything with it. You know, it just, it feels cooler than it would be in like Colorado. I like, I was walking around. I wasn't walking around in shorts and a hoodie. It was jeans and stuff. But anyways, plan on rocking my Flatirons Tuning hoodie when I run to the,
[00:02:55] to up to boxer fest on Sunday up in Pennsylvania. Sweet. So. It is the. So Subaru has a couple of events. The one in Pennsylvania is called boxer fest. The rest of there's wicked beat big meat up in New Hampshire. I think it is, or Vermont. One of the two. And then there's subie fest at California, Texas, Florida.
[00:03:20] Um, and whatnot, but it's just a big Subaru meat where people show up, you know, uh, a lot of it's, uh, WRX owners, but there's like foresters and presence. Like everybody that is just a big Subaru fan all shows up for these events. Um, I'm looking forward to it because there's going to be a bunch of vendors up there with modding opportunities for me. Um, so. Oh, cool.
[00:03:47] I'm going with this year and I'm going to stick to it though. Um, so yeah. Um, I know Jerry restraints, sir. Yeah, dude. We've heard those words before. Actually. We're ready. We're ready for October. We're ready to see what's going to happen for October too. We'll see. So I downsize part of my collection, you know, like I'm starting to downsize because I've just spent money on stuff. I probably shouldn't have.
[00:04:16] So like today, uh, I went ahead and traded in my switch today. My switch one. Um, I don't need, I don't need a second. Yeah. I did that today. Like everything's on my animal crossing one though. My animal crossing. Yeah. You traded it in. I don't see. That's the thing is I'm trying to downsize and I don't need just a second switch. Just hanging out. I thought that was the whole thing. It was going to be a showpiece.
[00:04:46] Yeah, but I'm downsizing like all my collectibles and stuff. Like I, I would, which I'm not going to lie to like, to follow suit. Like it kind of, that kind of inspired me to kind of rethink my position as well. So I, I might actually trade my, my tears, uh, in order to get the, uh, the Zelda switch to version. Um, but okay. Anyways. So like today I went in and traded it in. I know it's weird, man. On display.
[00:05:15] There were two of the, um, PS one graphic type, uh, figures for cloud and for Zach. Okay. Okay. There were decent sized statues, 35 bucks a piece. I did not buy them. Like I looked at them. I was like, God, these will look so good on my shelf, my final fantasy shelf. And then, but I said, no. Hmm. Okay. Short restraint. Good for you.
[00:05:44] I did some self-restraint today. I did buy myself a, uh, a switch to controller though. Uh, pro controller just because the boys and I did a big old session of, uh, Luigi's mansion three. Okay. Oh, really? Um, on Saturday. Mm. Or no Sunday. And honestly, I was realizing I'm going to need a, I needed a sec, another pro controller. Okay.
[00:06:14] And so I was like, well, I'll get myself the switch to pro controller. So it'll be just mine. It'll be over at the desk with the switch too. And then they each have pro controllers they can use. Oh, very cool. Okay. Cool. You know? So that's what I ended up getting, but I also did get something, Jerry. Jerry.
[00:06:39] Gentlemen, allow me to try and behoove you to join the fight for democracy for, I have already been in battle with our newest recruit, Matt Diorio as a fellow hell diver now.
[00:07:01] So I would actually just implore you to be open-minded to possibly joining the fight. And, and this is, this is to both of you to, I'm extending this to, cause we can actually have a, a full group of four. And we can find- I thought it could only be a group of three. No, no, no, no, no. Uh, nope. Oh. It's actually, you can go up to four. Okay. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
[00:07:29] So, uh, so let's- J-Po, J-Po, we all, we all could finally be playing together at once. So, I, I know I, I might, this might be like, I might be dreaming here, but I would love for us to be playing on, on a game altogether at once. For once. It's fun. Okay. I had fun for the couple of missions that we ran. Already unlocked some gear, but let's, okay.
[00:07:58] Let's preface this with the story behind it though, is okay. Okay. So we all know on the podcast, Jerry's been bugging us for a while to do Helldivers. Since- I feel like he was doing pretty light on the bugging. Yeah. I mean, he's, he finally- Like, I let up, but when I was kind of like really, like when we were really kind of having the conversations of looking for another game to play, like not for all of us, because it was-
[00:08:27] Destiny was like looming to close, you know, so around that, but yeah. Okay. So, anyways, my comic shop. Shout out to Jake, my comic shop, one of the employees there. Jake, you're the man. He's been, he's been bugging me. He's like, you need to get Helldivers. You need to get Helldivers. And then once I told Jerry that I'm, I was like, I'm thinking about it. I jumped on it. I was like, you gotta try it, dude.
[00:08:53] I got bullied into bugging Helldivers. It was only 40 bucks. So it was like, you know, okay. Physical or digital? Digital. Cause it's on the- I have a digital. It's on the- Yeah. Okay. But even if you guys wanted to wait and get it on disc, cool. But I'm just, I'm just asking if you want to be open. I would love- Is it cross play or no? It is cross play. Yeah. It's cross play. Okay. Yeah.
[00:09:24] So you could get on- That would be so awesome if, yeah, if we all finally get to play together. Anyways. So yes, I am, I've officially been recruited into the fight for democracy. It's so much fun. And he's already killed me. He's already friendly fired me too. I mean, you always gotta test it. Always gotta test it. Always gotta test it. It was okay. Always gotta test it. And then you friendly fired yourself though. Cause that Hell Bomb got you good. So you can kill yourself? Hold on. First and foremost.
[00:09:53] He shot a bomb and he, he, he, uh, a single radius a little wrong. Yeah. He said, you need to back up a bit. I backed up what I thought was far enough away. I was like, you might want to get back, bro. A bit. No. He sat there and watched me not back up far enough and blow my test out. And then I watched him just shoot the thing in. And he just disintegrated. Secondly is, the first one was just like, hey, hey, don't, don't tell him. Watch this. Yeah. Hey, hey, watch this dude. What does-
[00:10:22] The friendly fire was not on purpose. No, that's true. But, uh, I know there's more to come. Oh, there will be friendly fire on purpose. That's just a given. I just don't have a mannequin arm to do it with. Okay. There are other things, but yeah. Um, but yeah, I would definitely, uh, yeah, yeah, yeah. What? I mean, don't, don't, don't, I feel like you should be specific with what the other things are.
[00:10:51] Cause I mean, we're talking about appendages here. And we're, we're, we're talking to a person that has a child for a mind. And we also have an audience that probably has children's for minds. So we should be a little bit. Well, let's see. When we're talking about available appendages in a game that you can whack somebody with. Oh yeah, that's true. Um, you're talking about the, uh, the arm. Yeah. From Call of Duty. Just to be specific. Yes. No, you said that there was other options inside of held.
[00:11:20] Oh yeah. Like a shovel, like, um, like machete, there are other stuff. Okay. So melee items. Not necessarily. Yeah. Okay. Got it. We're going to use that as a perfect. Specificity, sir. Specific. We're going to use that as a perfect segue. Nice. So you heard it out there guys. The request is out there. Yeah. Let's get the boys online together. Please. I had fun with it. You know? Yeah.
[00:11:49] Once we get to a more like challenging, like levels, I told you when you get more bum rushed, you're, you're throwing turrets. You're getting more. It's dude. It's so much fun. It's hilarious. All right. So, so you're asking to get bum rushed with a mannequin arm right now. Is that what you're saying? Fuck. No, I know you never hear this and I need to point it out every time you do. I know. Just so you know. I don't hear.
[00:12:17] I need to point it out every time you say these things. Anyway, so we're going to segue this right into the, the, the dire news that happened today with Xbox. Oh yeah. Oh geez. Yeah. You think they're, they're making one really good move and then, oh, wait a minute. Give them a day. They'll change it. I wonder if we're going to talk about the potential interesting thing too, but I'll wait patiently. Okay. Yeah. Essentially.
[00:12:46] You can bring it up after this, but anyways. So, so Mac, Matt booty, who is head of the studio side of everything put out an announcement. This is coming right off of Xbox wire. So you can go to news.xbox.com and can see this very same statement that was put out by Matt booty. Um, you can go, um, you can go, um, I, G and game informer. Everybody's got it and talking about it, but, uh, this message and he says this message was sent to team Xbox employees globally.
[00:13:17] Team. I'm writing to share several updates as part of the Xbox reset outlined earlier this year. Remember, Asha Sharma said they were going to really, they were going to drop down 3,200 people. As part of their staff, they were going to lay off 3,200 people. They already did 1,600. So they've got another 1,600 to go in their fiscal year.
[00:13:40] But first we are eliminating 268 roles across Halo studios, other first party studios and the XGS. So Xbox game studios management and central functions layer. The actions completed since July, inclusive of the studio dive ventures, bring us roughly three quarters of the way through previously announced restructuring.
[00:14:07] I am deeply grateful for what our colleagues have built and I know how difficult today will be for those leaving and the teams around them. Second, we are reorganizing our studios. The goal is to strengthen our franchises and games by operating fewer business units, aligning groups that already work closely together and focusing on other publishing expertise. So where I say this was a perfect segue.
[00:14:32] Activision is, uh, will be, according to him, Activision will expand its remit to world's edge as well as rare, which is weird that they're going to move rare under Activision. Anyways, Activision will also be developing the next Halo title. Great. It's going to be their new, uh, pay to play.
[00:14:55] Led by a new purpose built team that is separate from ongoing development and plans for Call of Duty. A small team of Halos or Halo studios will continue supporting the Halo community and games in market. Fuck. Halo online officially is going to be pay to play. I, I, I hope, I hope they don't like, oh, it will dude.
[00:15:24] Oh, just, just imagine. Oh dude. Imagine the skins that are going to happen on Call of Duty. The crossovers. Oh yeah. It's done. Oh, not only Halo. Like the, the amount of cash cow skins that they're going to bleed on, on to Call of Duty is just going to even worsen the, they're going to bleed over into Halo. Like you're going to have so many. Oh yeah. That's what I mean.
[00:15:49] Like the, the complete crossover between both there, they're going to use both entities to, you know what? They're going to run them to the ground. I mean, campaign wise, Call of Duties have always been pretty decent. You know, it's the multiplayers that are horrible, but I haven't played the last couple of Call of Duties. That being said. I've, I've stuck with the modern warfare's and the, the campaigns have been great. Obviously they're infamously short, but they're very much for me replayable.
[00:16:17] The stories are really good, but they're, it's not worth playing, paying the full price. I have waited for them on discount because all I play is the campaign. Okay. I don't, we don't play online anymore. Halo has been a shell of itself since Bungie left. Let's be honest. Reach was the last good Halo. You know, Halo four was all right. Halo five was not great. Halo infinite. We all know how that. It tanks.
[00:16:47] It basically tanks. Yeah. You know, and Jerry, you and I were talking about this earlier. Is that Halo campaign evolved. So the remaster you using a unreal engine five, that thing is estimated to cost a hundred million to make. Mm hmm. It's only made about $67 million. So they just make the money back.
[00:17:16] Also slight problem though, is that they put it right on a game pass right away and 2 million people played it off of game pass. Oh yeah. I think that's still their biggest mistake is that day, day one on game pass. Yeah. Yeah. So here's the next thing. Cause cause yeah. Cause now we're, it's getting a little iffy if we're even going to see two or three. Oh, let alone. I don't think we're seeing anything else.
[00:17:44] Uh, down the, down the line. Like is a ODST or reach now given, given they left 23 or sorry, 33 million on the table and 2 million of the, you know, people did it on game pass. I don't see us getting two, three in reach anyways. Yeah. So Bethesda will expand its remit to include Obsidian, which will continue its current projects, including grounded as well as the new fallout project.
[00:18:14] Made in collaboration with Bethesda game studio. So that means Obsidian is taking on the new project, which has been rumored to be new Vegas too. Hmm.
[00:18:27] But the fact that Obsidian now is going to be under Bethesda and heading up fallout means that I think that Asha and company think that Bethesda is not making elder scroll six fast enough because it's been a couple of years since we saw the announcement trailer. That's true. It has been a while. Uh, no updates, no, uh, even trailers or game, at least some gameplay. That's true.
[00:18:55] They would have been done that by now. So you've also got, uh, King who is candy crush. Well, uh, it's going to expand to include Microsoft casual gamings, which Jerry and I had to look this up. It's basically my sleeper in solitaire. That's their casual. Essentially, I guess like mobile games, but I don't know why the rebrand it like that's just mobile games. And then, okay. Playground and turn 10 are going to merge into one studio.
[00:19:23] They're going to focus on the fours and fable franchises. Uh, these two studios have been creative and franchise partners for over a decade and today's change will formally move their work into one team, which, which they have like playground and turn 10 have been working collaboratively on the fours of titles, you know, for a little while.
[00:19:41] Um, now this is where things are sad is that, uh, third and update on our studio diventishers, uh, in August, compulsion and double fine returned to management with their IP backlog backlog back catalogs and runway funding. So we knew we talked about those weeks ago. Um, undead labs has now successfully transitioned on similar terms and with a new publisher will release state of decay three day one on game pass.
[00:20:11] Mm. Unfortunately, two separate agreements for ninja theory fell through. We will now begin consultation with employees on a proposed closure while continuing to explore other paths forward. Consultation with arcane remains underway and is expected to continue through the end of the year. Today, our focus should be on supporting those affected and treating one another with care and respect.
[00:20:38] I will spend time with our studios over the next week at our October 6th town hall. We will come together as an all Xbox team to reflect on our progress and look ahead to one of the strongest game lineups in our history. Um, I think for one, for them to say, this is the strongest lineup in game history in their history is, I think is that's really bad because delusional.
[00:21:03] It's delusional because they've had a lot of really strong things, but I think for me, this is, this is a sad day when you look at everything happening with PlayStation, look at everything that happened with Xbox. Like what timeline are we even in, you know?
[00:21:22] And I think both major companies are going, you know, so, so much the opposite direction of, you know, uh, what they used to be.
[00:21:33] And, uh, this was something else that we discussed earlier, uh, well that I discussed earlier with Matt was that, um, you know, Nintendo has consistently, even though maybe we've questioned some of their decisions, um, you know, consistently down the line, uh, even though it's always been to Nintendo's benefit or, or it's, you know, it's really just been for them, their decisions, uh, which has always worked out for them.
[00:22:02] Cause they've always stayed consistent in the direction that they're going. They've never really, I've never really, uh, I don't remember anything that they've really had to compromise themselves too much. Obviously, like I would say like for the tariffs and maybe prices, maybe here and there, but you know, when it comes to their decisions or collaborations, you know, they're not, um, ending it in, in bad terms, you know, as Sony and Xbox have recently been doing.
[00:22:31] And it's just, uh, that's very surprising. I think part of this is fallout from COVID finally, because we were talking about this earlier, right? Is that when you look at like even the CEO of Nintendo, he's only making like two, two and a half million dollars a year. That's it. You look at the other salaries across the game industry, they're easy 15 to $30 million.
[00:22:56] But when COVID hit, Nintendo knew that this was going to be temporary money and said, Hey, we need to continue as we've always had, you know, instead of just spinning up all these studios, PlayStation and Xbox got into an arms race. For studios, for games, and those games aren't making the money anymore. And I think part of the problem is like, now you look at today with everything being up from gas to groceries to, you know, to everything else.
[00:23:25] Like I can see how people just can't afford to be buying games and everything like that. Or being, you know, just more selective or, you know, so being more patient. Yeah. Given this and what they're actually doing. How long do you guys, I mean, honestly, and we can even say this for PlayStation too, because we know how much the new PlayStation is going to average about $1,400 is what they're estimating that thing to be.
[00:23:55] How long do you give both Xbox and PlayStation before they end up having to bow out of the games market? Hmm. Um, I don't think they're going to, well, it depends on, on how far that they're going, because I see them. I don't think they're going to be bowing out.
[00:24:16] I think they, they are headed to more of a like gritty corporate corporation kind of phase where they're going to eventually, you know, the PS six is kind of going to be the start of it. It's an all digital, uh, it's going to be an all digital console. Therefore you have to purchase everything through their store. Everything's monetized through them. Um, you know, I think that's going to be the start of it.
[00:24:44] And, you know, the same with Xbox, even though they've been, you know, placating to the fans with the whole physical and, uh, game code, uh, deal. But I think they're so slow playing the same strategy that Sony is headed for as well.
[00:25:03] So I think we're seeing two of the huge, two of the huge, uh, uh, important companies really like selling out and coming out with their devices that are, are really like are going to focus on either pay to play or online, online play subscription based.
[00:25:28] Any, everything is going to be focused on truly making money and having it as a, as a cash cow instead of, you know, the, the companies of old where, you know, J bone, when we were working at, at gameplay, you know, it was, it was that age old question. Uh, what do I get an Xbox or PlayStation? Well, what do you like story or do you want to be, do you play shooters?
[00:25:56] You know, uh, we're, we're not going to see very much of that anymore. PlayStation, unfortunately, I think is going to be not going to be considered the storytellers that they, they were in, and same with Xbox.
[00:26:14] I think we're going to see them as just game companies that, that, uh, you know, might resemble, uh, other, uh, computer companies that are just coming out with their next model and no longer, uh, no longer focusing on, on games or, or the importance of, of story and all of that. Yeah. I think that's where, I think that's where I kind of see it's going.
[00:26:40] I think I'm on the complete opposite end of the spectrum. I think they will slowly get completely out of the game world completely. Okay. They will be slowly getting rid of their game companies as well as I foresee a halt in generating consoles.
[00:27:04] I think that they will completely separate from direct contact with gaming and they will essentially outsource it, make it all third party to where that they will at least invest or support, uh, games in some fashion. So like, like their, um, partnership with ROG ally making their thing, uh, for handheld.
[00:27:30] Like I, I could see them teaming up with, uh, uh, ROG or some other company to make their version of a console. They're just helping with like the chips, the operating systems more on the software side, like Microsoft is used to.
[00:27:47] Um, so I, I foresee that happening that they, that they're just going to be trying to do it as slowly as possible in order to just see where things waver, um, with how the gaming community, I guess, or the gaming industry is going. It's slowly dying, but I, I feel like they're not, not going to put all their eggs in one basket.
[00:28:17] That's why they would go slow to see if anything changes, but I don't think they're going to try to make any changes in the industry themselves. That scares me a little bit more. If that goes that direction. They're going to launch the new stuff and that's going to be the end of the consoles as we know it, you know, like both. You think it's going to be that early? The next generation is going to be it. That's going to be the last one for console gaming.
[00:28:45] I mean, there's a lot of dang, a lot of, it's going to be a big tell of the future of it at the very least. Yeah. Well, this is why I'm thinking that though. It's because like we, for every time we had a new generational quote unquote generational gap of system, there was something that major happened. You know, uh, seeded a DVD, DVD to Blu-ray for PlayStation, you know, it was monumental.
[00:29:15] And when it went to PS4, like I'm just using PS PlayStation as an example right now. I, like I haven't really gotten that many Xboxes. I only had like the OG Xbox. That's it. It pretty much started to become like, what can we do? How can we process this quicker?
[00:29:37] PS4 to PS5, not that, not that like ridiculously graphically different. You know, you can see the, you can see it, but most of it is just processing speed. So at some point, yeah, you just kind of top out for a console and you, I mean, how much more real can you get?
[00:30:03] No, at some point, um, eventually it leads to the Oasis and that's it. And I mean, you can't, or, or if you remember, uh, with Gerard Butler, the movie gamer game. Oh yeah. Yeah. I mean, that's a level of rear that real that you can get into. I mean, I would want it, but I mean, it's out there, I guess the idea is out there.
[00:30:30] I feel like we're coming on the plateau of where, how, what we can do. Um, so I'm not like, I think this is going to be the last generation for a long while, um, that anybody would ever dare think about. Um, what's the point in upgrading? Well, you're just going to put a fresh paint, a new fresh coat of paint on something else at this point.
[00:30:56] Uh, Microsoft's actually going to be smart and only release one system instead of trying to have two systems out for the same generation. Uh, what else? Uh, Sony, yeah, Sony is losing their way and going only digital. Um, the only one that we obviously, that will never change is Nintendo. Nintendo will do whatever they want to do.
[00:31:24] And as long as people still survive and people have kids, they will always get a Nintendo system. Like, it's just, that's the way the cookie crumbles. Never will it ever, like, be like, oh yeah, you know what, let me get, like, let me get, uh, an Xbox as the family system. No. It's always the, like, teens, the young adults that would get it. But everybody gets a Nintendo. Everybody gets a Nintendo.
[00:31:52] Oh, nobody's excluded from that craziness. So, I mean, it's eventually, it's on its way out already, so I'm not even tripping, like, how much these new consoles are going to be. Because they might be the last ones. That's it. I can wait. I can, nothing, nothing new is going to be. Like, GTA, I'm shocked it's not coming out on that new system. I mean, it will, like, GTA 7 will.
[00:32:21] But, uh, GTA 6, like, it's going to be, like, the product of this, how long it lasted a generation kind of game. I agree with Jason that I think from an Xbox and PlayStation perspective, Nintendo is going to do its thing, right? And I think Nintendo's proven, I think Nintendo's proven with their sales that they've been able to weather the storm.
[00:32:52] Right? Over and over, over and over. All of that. COVID. But I think the problem is with Xbox, you look at everything that they're doing, including, you know, they're getting, you know, closing down studios, laying more people off. Like, you know, yeah, they're going to be doing it. But I think with PlayStation and Xbox, one is the chipsets are becoming too expensive.
[00:33:16] We know the new PlayStation is rumored to be about $1,400 at current market prices. I would see the Xbox being somewhere around there. I'd ballpark at $1,200 to $1,600, you know, give or take. And people are just going to be able to afford that, you know, right now. So, I mean, it's going to be in the generations. And you have Xbox and PlayStation both starting to push heavily AI.
[00:33:47] AI use in their studios. You have, you know, PlayStation, you know, patenting AI things for your console. You know, with Xbox, with Game Pass, they're going to turn it into a Netflix type thing where they're going to start injecting ads into your gameplay as you're playing Game Pass. You know, where you can be in the middle of a boss fight and then all of a sudden here's an ad. Yeah.
[00:34:15] You know, and I think right now you see a lot. Now you're reminding me for another thing that I'm going to bring up just as a forewarning. Oh, yeah. Is that I really think with everything that these companies, these two companies in particular, as much as we love PlayStation, we bash on Xbox.
[00:34:36] I think both of them have made enough bad decisions in the last five years that it has sent them both down the path. That, you know, that they may not be around as hardware manufacturers or anything like that, you know, going forward. Once the next generation comes out, I think to Jason's point, it is going to be the last generation for the home console.
[00:35:05] I think Nintendo has really hit that sweet spot with the Switch. From a portability perspective, you look at now with the Switch 2, we're still in its, you know, the first generation of the Switch 2. And look how many companies are putting their games onto the Switch 2. Like, we're getting Final Fantasy Revelation at launch across all consoles. It's going to be on the Switch 2. I played the demo for a remake.
[00:35:35] And it plays pretty darn well on the Switch 2. You know, granted, it is as graphically gorgeous as the PS5. No, it's a little bit below it because it's, you know, it's more on the PS4 side. But it's still, it played great. You know? So, I think they've got that format of portability and you can still dock it and play it on a TV if you want to. But, you know, unfortunately, it's just the way it is.
[00:36:03] Dio, do you want to go and bring up what you want to bring up before we move on to the next piece? So, let me throw in a potential, I guess, wrench in either of your ideas or solidify it. But, has anybody heard the rumor, I guess, we'll go with rumor, but it's been flying around for the past couple days,
[00:36:25] that there is in development a PS5 emulator that will be playable on the Xbox Series X. It actually works in dev mode on the Xbox. It works in dev mode, but the emulator is still so much in development that it barely plays Quake 2.
[00:36:46] But, yeah, they will be porting a PS5 emulator into Xbox. Oh, wow. I still think they're... Because here's the thing is, like... I personally feel like that solidifies both Matt and Jason's point that it comes to an end of consoles.
[00:37:14] Because, I mean, if you have an emulator, you can play it practically anywhere. So, what the hell do you need specifically a console for? Mm-hmm. And I think it solidifies mine, where it's still essentially making it to where they don't even need to be in the game industry game at all. They're just going to essentially take it from you. Take it from somebody else and just let them do all the work. Well, yeah. And I think, like, that's fine. If they want to put an emulator, go for it.
[00:37:42] Like, I still think at the end of the day, I think it's going to go even deeper. Because look at how much these games are costing, right? And you look at Wolverine, right? Rumor is it costs, like, $300 million to make. It hasn't made back that quite yet, even at launch. And it launched with problems. I think, to Jerry's point, both Xbox and Sony are all about the almighty dollar right now.
[00:38:12] Trying to get as much profit, it's almost like they're being run by hedge fund companies, you know, and equity firms. Because, like, I think you look at something like Interstellar, right? We saw that trailer, what, a year ago at this point now? No, I don't know. And we still haven't seen any news about what's coming from Naughty Dog, you know? No.
[00:38:38] We don't know what any of their other studios are coming out with. I think you're having to come out with these games that are, like, huge development costs. Huge monumental mistake of cutting ties with Hodeo Kojima. To Jason's point, going away from, you know, getting away from discs.
[00:38:59] Part of that, though, does have to do with the fact that the CD drives themselves are becoming way more expensive because of currently everything else going on with AI and data centers. And I just want to preface, like, Jason and I did acknowledge many times that we understand that it was eventually going to go digital. A long time ago, yeah. Yeah. A long time ago that we know digital was inevitable. Obviously, is it a little premature? Sure.
[00:39:28] Once again, we're saying yes, we're mentioning that. But obviously, the way they're going about it and the way that they're handling everything is just, you know, it's just very unfortunate because us as fans, I mean, we were such PlayStation fans. I mean, that's essentially, like, how we all met at E3 and we loved going to that other side to see the big three and what their announcements are going to be. You know, it just, it sucks that they're really.
[00:39:59] We all met because of a Toys to Life game called Disney Infinity. Had nothing to do with us being in line over at PlayStation. Oh, I mean, as we further explored E3 and further, like, continued going every year. But, yeah, we met because of Infinity. Yeah. R.I.P., baby. R.I.P. Well, Jason was over at Final Fantasy trying to get his T-shirt for the year. That's right. But in defense of PlayStation, you originally bonded on PlayStation's reality show.
[00:40:29] Oh, yeah. Talking about PlayStation. Yeah. Oh, yeah. On the tester and all that. That's right. On the tester. But, yeah, and, you know, just think, projects like that, like, you're really, you're never going to see something like that from Sony. I feel now, the direction that they're going, they're never going to make another, like, show like that, like the tester again or, you know, even some of the games that, you know, we're hopefully going to get, we don't know if we're going to get them now. Yeah.
[00:40:58] You know, everything's so up in the air with these two companies that it's just. Yeah, it sucks. Speaking of PlayStation. Before you go on to the next thing, since you brought up ads, just, it's not necessarily PlayStation and Xbox, but that there is also the rumor about Disney, specifically Disney Plus. I heard about this too. Their terms of service. It's ridiculous.
[00:41:22] Because they have a loophole to where the, even if you have an ad-free subscription that they can still play ads before and after your content. So that was updated for Europe. Not the States, but it is updated in Europe. But here's the thing. It's going to stop them from doing it. It's only a matter of time. Oh, yeah.
[00:41:48] But I think when you look at the, when they set you up, when you set up for everything, it's basically ad-free during your viewing. Like, honestly, they've been doing ads before their stuff for a bit now, and I've never cared really. It's like, it's like going to see a movie in the theater. Like, there's trailers. Like, if I really don't want to watch them, I can just get up and go grab a drink or something.
[00:42:11] I've also been okay with that stuff, but those have been subscriptions that are not me paying for them to be ad-free. They've always been free or it's been upfront. It has ads or whatever. But it leads, and yeah, I'm perfectly fine with these certain services that are like, hey, watch this three-minute ad and you won't have ads for your entire video.
[00:42:36] Sure, I'll do that, but I'm also not paying extra in order to do that, which Disney's is trying to do. Yeah. Yeah. So, but speaking of PlayStation, Bungie has issued a statement. Oh, yeah. I'm eager to hear your thoughts on this, Theo. Yeah. So, this came out on the 17th.
[00:43:06] This is from Bungie.net from their news section, but again, you can go read about it anywhere else. But the next chapter for Bungie. Hey, all. Poria and Josh here. For those who don't know us, I'm Poria Torkin, Bungie Studio Head, and I'm Josh Dean, Head of Product and General Manager of Marathon. Together, we are responsible for leading Bungie and shaping the future of our games. Today, we want to talk candidly about where Bungie is, where Destiny and Marathon need to go, and how we intend to earn back your trust.
[00:43:33] It's not only an update for our immediate plans, it's the beginning of a more consistent conversation about the future of our games and our studio. So, they did a video where they were talking, Frank, about kind of where things are at. You know, and I think... Specifically with Destiny, not Marathon. Destiny and Marathon, like... They were a little upfront with Marathon. Oh, yeah. They were. Oh, okay. Just generalized, but still. But, yeah.
[00:44:03] I mean, yeah. Let's be honest. They've... Especially under PlayStation, some bad decisions were made. And whatnot. But where Bungie is today, Bungie has been creating games for over 30 years. We welcome the communities that have formed around them. Over the last few years, we lost sight of that, and there have been real consequences. We lost trust, we lost incredible colleagues, and we lost sight of what we should be prioritizing most, our players.
[00:44:31] Well, yeah, you kind of prioritize making money versus actually games that people want to play. Anyways... Oh, really? As a new leadership team, we must own that. We aren't listening... We aren't just listening to feedback. We understand your disappointment. We are not asking you to trust what we say today. We know that trust must be earned through the quality of our games, the decisions we make, and how consistently we show up for our players. Destiny is foundational to our future.
[00:45:01] Bungie would not be what it is today without Destiny and the vibrant community that has rallied around it for more than a decade. Bungie isn't what they are today without Halo. Not Destiny. No. True. They just can't say Halo because it's Xbox, right? But Bungie started off as the studio making Halo. They did Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST, and Reach.
[00:45:32] And then they said they wanted to branch out and do Destiny. And Microsoft said, no, we want you to make Halo. And they left. But when we announced that Moments of Triumph would be the final content update to Destiny 2, you responded in force. Your voices mattered. And the way you showed up made a real impact. You reminded everyone how much this world, its history, and its future still mean to you. Destiny is foundational. It's a Bungie's future.
[00:46:01] We have more stories to tell, new worlds to build, and we have to do it right and give our teams the time they need to do justice to this amazing universe. All of this is to say we are not done with Destiny. We want to return Destiny to its original promise to recapture the qualities that have always made it special. The awe-inspiring mystery, meaningful discovery, and a community of guardians coming together against impossible odds.
[00:46:24] That begins with restoring important parts of Destiny 2's history that players can no longer experience today. We understand that removing these experiences had a lasting impact on players' trust and engagement of Destiny. Destiny 2 is more than just the content itself. It is a place where players have built memories together, formed lasting friendships, shared experiences that have stayed with them for years.
[00:46:46] We cannot change the decisions we made, but we can acknowledge its impact and do the work to make it right by restoring these important parts of Destiny's history. As we shared in the video, we are beginning the work on bringing vaulted Destiny 2 campaigns, destinations, and raids back into the game, where they will be available to all Destiny 2 players. Bringing this content back is not as simple as restoring old files.
[00:47:12] Changes made to Destiny 2 since Beyond Light require us to update lighting, encounters, combatants, and other underlying systems. That work will take time, but is necessary to ensure returning content meets the stability and gameplay standards of Destiny 2 today. Our team is very excited to deliver this for all of you as they progress. We shall share more details in the coming months ahead.
[00:47:34] And then when we look to future of Destiny, all of this restoration is the first steps to lay the foundations for how we reforge into new stories and games that you all deserve. We'll have more detail on our vaulting efforts in the coming months. This is a marathon. Marathon, they're going to try and evolve it because apparently, yeah, it's not doing well. It's not doing well. Yeah. So. So I wonder. So true. Yeah.
[00:48:03] But I wonder, does that also mean that this is a possible resurgence of maybe a Destiny 3? I'm going to say yes. Hmm. No. So in the video, they did hint. Kind of slip that there is future stories of Destiny. Correct. They didn't necessarily say that it's going to be within Destiny 2.
[00:48:31] That can still be continuously in the DLC. But they're essentially not killing off Destiny. So to your point, right? It is. And towards the end of this, you know, there's as we move forward, we'll measure ourselves against a few core commitments. Build a stronger long term future for Destiny while honoring and restoring its past is like the first bullet point. Mm-hmm.
[00:48:59] You know, I think this is what I think. I think that amongst everything else, CD drives and all of that is that I think PlayStation realized they screwed up by saying we're killing off Destiny because people responded in force. Mm-hmm. Like there was Halo days wherever. I mean, they had what?
[00:49:24] Three state of plays where the live stream chat was bombarded with. Yes. The disk statements and Destiny 3. And you had like days where it was coordinated where everybody logged onto the servers all in one day. Yeah. You know, like so they showed up in force.
[00:49:45] And, you know, this is one of those live service games that, you know, had you paid attention to quality and just not making a quick buck, you know, you might have had a stronger campaign. So as the resident expert for Destiny amongst the four of us, Theo, I'm going to ask you two questions. Okay. One, we kind of got a little bit of an answer.
[00:50:15] I kind of want to hear you expand on it. But one is what content really got nerfed that, say, Jerry and I, because we hadn't played in ages, missed on a high level. And secondly is with them restoring everything, does this bring you back to Destiny or are you still kind of done?
[00:50:39] So to answer the first question, you're essentially missing about half to two thirds of overall content. Oh, shit. Yeah. So like the because you you're missing the initial base, which is the I think it's the Red Army one.
[00:51:08] You're missing the first initial base expansion. You're missing the next one, then Forsaken, then Beyond Light and then all of these. So you're missing the past like six expansions from where it started. And you and we experienced this, that you're already locked behind paywalls with with dungeons and it from previous ones. Some of those dungeons are vaulted.
[00:51:37] Oh, there's so much. Yep. Locations have been vaulted. Mercury, Io and Titan. Yep. And it's Red War. Yes, Forsaken. That were vaulted campaigns. The biggest expansions. Yeah. Yes. Which, I mean, which was kind of nice that they in Moments of Triumph, they did rehabilitate the...
[00:52:04] Intro mission for Forsaken, which was nice. Oh. I did replay that. That was definitely nostalgia and a lot of fun to do. I didn't know that was coming when I started doing Moments of Triumph. But there's definitely a vast amount that is to be brought back on.
[00:52:28] And from other videos that I've seen, like, yeah, it's going to increase the size of the game by a ton for sure. For what you download and install. But at the same time, I don't foresee it being more than your average COD these days. Where it's going to be 300 to 400 gigs. So, I mean, at least you'd have more content than COD, in my opinion.
[00:53:01] But for returning, I mean, I like the idea. And like I said, I don't have an immediate type of idea to return. Primarily. And just like they said in their discussion and video is that it's not just a flip of a switch. They got to figure out how they're going to do it, how they're going to implement it, how to make it still not essentially overload the game.
[00:53:29] Whereas they have buffering every freaking chunk change within the game. So, it's definitely going to be a big undertaking for that. I feel like it's going to be difficult with the size of the team since it's been officially reduced quite a bit.
[00:53:52] But, I mean, to their favor, I mean, primarily all the content's already done. It was vaulted. They just got to be able to integrate it back in. And it seems like they've already started that work with Moments of Triumph by rehabilitating some older missions from older expansions. From a nostalgia standpoint, I do like the idea of unvaulting.
[00:54:22] And bringing back some of the most beloved stuff, including some of the stuff that wasn't necessarily beloved. But at least this would also allow for new players to truly experience things. Whereas, like, I know, Matt, you jumped back in, did a fresh start.
[00:54:43] And, like, you immediately went through and noticed the difference in how they push you through basically nothing for a tutorial. It's just like, oh, here's this five-minute, like, oh, my God, here's the skills. Here's this. And then here's a mission for all of your different classes and stuff.
[00:55:07] Whereas, as we know, when we played Destiny 1, we had, like, full-on stories that built up to the classes. We understood why the classes were they or what motivated the people for their classes and so forth. And, like, even with the lead guardians, with Savala and Cade and everything.
[00:55:32] So at least I feel like there's that opportunity to bring in more. The good old days. The good old stories, yeah. Right. And it's an opportunity to bring in more players for that. And maybe it's a Hail Mary to try to get, I don't know, like, crowdfunding for Destiny 3.
[00:55:56] I mean, I'm sure that wouldn't be out of the question with the kind of support there has been by the community so far for Destiny 3. But, like, I would say that I'm looking forward to it. But I wouldn't say I'm overly excited just because of how things have thrown out recently with Moments of Triumph. I haven't been too impressed.
[00:56:22] It's just a huge grind for Moments of Triumph. It's just a type of thing just to kind of sign on and do just for the sake of it. There's really no full motivation other than just kind of reliving the full game. At least with unvolting, you literally can relive the entire game.
[00:56:45] I would say my most excited thing for unvolting everything would be the first raid, the Leviathan. And I played the crap out of that raid. That is the only raid that I played over 300 runs of doing the raid. It's such a fun raid. Yeah. Damn. Yeah. Say it again. Even I in Final Fantasy.
[00:57:11] It's bad when I, as a casual player, could carry and teach a raid to other players. You had it down like that. You had it that down pat. Yep. I'd just be like, okay, here's your job. Oh, you can't do it. Let me jump in and do it for you. That type of deal. But it was that fun of a raid. And they haven't had one since. And it would be great to have that back.
[00:57:43] Oh, cool. Hmm. Okay. So, on that, what you been playing, Theo? What you been watching? Not Destiny. No. I'm still on my crap with Minecraft. I've made some good progress on my trading hall. Villagers are a pain in the ass to try to get them to breed and do jobs that you want them to do.
[00:58:11] That sounds really odd to say, but Minecraft players will understand what I'm saying. But, yes, it does feel kind of human traffic-y to try to say that you're trying to breed villagers. But, other than that, nothing too much play-wise. I've definitely been watching an obscene amount of YouTube with React Cast and Bullseye.
[00:58:41] Those kind of YouTube channels. Just kind of like these little fun things. Watching some anime here and there. I did do the release day for Pokemon 30th anniversary cards. Oh, cool. Cool. I actually, I was actually kind of surprised that I did a Target release and it wasn't too bad.
[00:59:06] I showed up an hour before the store opened and I was only like, I'd say there was about 50 to 60 people ahead of me. Dang. Okay. I didn't manage to get as much product as some people were because, like, you could get two of everything per person. And certainly there were a lot of families that were, like, making sure that they get a lot. Oh, dear.
[00:59:34] But I did manage to get, I got two knockout boxes, knockout collection boxes, which include two packs and a promo card. And I got two of the three blister packs. So it's three packs. And then two elite trainer boxes, which was pretty good, I would say. It wasn't too bad. So I was impressed by it. I was impressed by the Target workers.
[01:00:04] They really handled it really well. They made sure that they, they even had employees spread out to make sure they were monitoring the line and nobody was, like, bum rushing to the cards and stuff. I mean, they, they eased in people to picking up product and everything. So I was, I was briefly impressed. So I got that stuff. I also did fall for the GameScout prices of pre-orders.
[01:00:32] So I did have pre-orders and picked up those from GameStop. Nice. Surprisingly enough, I, I, I figure you guys aren't following, but after GameStop reduced their prices from the backlash of doing, like, triple MSRP, then they reduced it to just double MSRP. That's actually more fair than any other scalper out there.
[01:01:03] Because all the other scalpers are doing triple or more for their pre-orders or their product that they got and are doing it on the second, uh, market. So, so GameStop actually was a good deal to help solidify getting products. Surprisingly enough. Um, but yeah. How about you, Jason? What you been playing?
[01:01:34] Yeah. Um, so my wife beat Resident Evil, which was cool. Nice. I forget which, I forget which Resident Evil was it? Seven? Nine. Requiem. Nine. Nine. Oh, okay. Okay. Um, she beat that, which is cool. Okay. Um, I'm starting to play. I'm like, I mean, I'm still playing, uh, last of us too.
[01:02:01] Um, still going through the Abby story right now. Uh, off, off that though. Like I'll be playing, uh, dead rising three because it was on my computer and I needed to, uh, nice. I need to get, I can't picture it. I don't remember the game. It's, uh, the first one started in a mall and then you destroyed zombies and made like weird configurations of, yeah. Of weapons and vehicles.
[01:02:30] And, you know, you, you got more points, the, the more zombies you killed and then you help strangers along the way. Three, I think is in Vegas, right? Uh, three. I don't know. In a city, but. Yeah. It's in like Atlanta or something, but you're in a city. Uh, Los Perdidos, California. Oh, okay. There we go. Yeah. It's, that's a city setting, you know, like. They're fun. They're, they're, they're fun. It's just mindless. So. Yeah. That's what it is.
[01:02:59] Kind of, uh, trying to get that going a little bit. I don't know. It doesn't sound too mindless to me. At least in, at least in comparison to like destiny or. Oh no, no. Check out the gameplay. You'll, you'll see what, what, what he's talking about. Like, you know, like just go there, like just slash, slash, slash. Yeah. Like, uh, okay. Find a few of the components. Let's make this, uh, let's make this motorcycle and just plow through tons. Okay. Yeah.
[01:03:29] Maybe you do a quest, uh, uh, the main story, but if you mess up on the main story, then it's over. Like, you know, you have like certain time zone. Um, other than that, those two, um, I started watching Better Call Saul. Um. Oh, sick. Ooh. Yeah. So. Now, uh, you have to remind me, Better Call Saul was actually a spinoff of Breaking Bad, right? Like, yes.
[01:03:59] Saul's character was introduced in Breaking Bad first, right? Correct. But this is, uh, technically like a prequel to that character. Oh. So, this is before he becomes Saul Goodman. Uh, it is, uh, his name is James McGill. So, it's like, you know, like how does he become Saul Goodman?
[01:04:23] How does he get in touch with all the, how does he get into the, the criminal world kind of thing? So, it's really interesting. Yeah. Okay. Been doing that. Uh, but those are the main things right now. Nothing else. Like, really playing here and there. Like, League of Legends. But, I was about to buy some packs for, uh, Magic. Like, some physical packs. But I was like.
[01:04:53] What set? Just, just to rip. The current set? Um, no, it would have been, it would have been, uh, the cross sets. But, uh, I just wanted to rip some cards. That's it. I just had that itch. Itch to rip, dude. But it's funny. Sometimes. I understand. That itch. Sometimes it's just so much fun. I keep seeing some, like, magic stuff from, on, like, my Instagram feeds. And I send it straight to Jerry. Because, you know, like, it's, it was something I would do.
[01:05:23] And they'd be like, oh my god, you're a monster. Oh, they're so funny. You're, you're, you're. Or just like. Oh, oh. Shh. Oh my god. Yeah. Yeah. Like, the automatic shuffler. Like, they brought an automatic. Oh, yeah. That's what I do. Oh, god. Just for that. The automatic shuffler. That one was funny. Oh my gosh. The look on the person, like, oh my god. What are you, like. Yeah.
[01:05:50] And there's a guy like, yeah, I'm just shuffling, like, just straight, real full shuffle, like, how I would. And he's just recording everybody else, like. Yep. Oh my god. Oh. Like. That's why. You know, Jerry, I gotta meet your friends. Gotta meet your friends, bro. Oh, oh, they're very, believe me, they're curious. Oh, yeah. So, when the day that does happen, I do want you to play a prank on him to the point where
[01:06:16] that you riff shuffle, but with a separate deck, and you riff shuffle so badly, you start damaging the cards. Oh, no. Just to make them cringe. And then just all of a sudden, just, like, from behind your back, pull out your other deck. Jerry has seen, like, some of the, like, the, it's played. It's played. Like, there's no card in my deck. Oh, yeah. Yeah. There's no card in my deck that gets past. There's a few cards where, like, a few of them have looked like they've been.
[01:06:45] I mean, I'm not against it. Like, play cards. No, no. Yeah, like actual. No, no, no. I'm not against it. I mean, that's kind of one of the things that I kind of like with Pokemon, to be frank, is that their cards and their sets, their commons and their rares are the exact same card. The only difference is the artwork. So if you're a player, you can play good cards without them having to be expensive. Yeah.
[01:07:14] And that's funny. And like I'm saying, like, Jerry's seen my deck where it's like, the highest you'll get is a PSA 8 in my deck. That's the highest. That is like, that is a reaching high. That's actually pretty impressive, though. That's still pretty good condition. Yeah. I mean, that's still near mint. But the average is like a solid 4, solid 5. It's like, yo. Regardless of rarity now, because from what I was told.
[01:07:42] At least in PSA greetings, the literal term for PSA 4 is good condition. 5 is excellent. Yeah. So, I mean. We'll see. To your defense, they're in pretty good conditions if you think they're PSA 4. Yeah. Now, if you start telling me they're PSA 1s, then I'll believe you. Oh, see, like, there are a couple cards. There are a couple cards. Oh, yeah, bro.
[01:08:08] But the thing is, the deck that I took, based on the rarity, like, some of the looks I got when I went on the getaway, like, oh, dang, this is like an $80 card, dude. Like, oh, I didn't know that. No, not really. This is my homie. You see, this crazy is 5 cards. As I'm shuffling more of the cards, I'm like, oh, my God. Shuffling. Everyone was like, dude, your friend's a monster. He's like, yeah, who is it?
[01:08:35] And then I says, um, Jason has already met. And they're like, oh, my God. But, like, no, we didn't even. We thought we knew him. I'm like, yeah, it was funny. Yeah. It's just because I have a lot of old cards, you know? And I think that's. Some of the rare ones, like, that's what threw him off, too. Like, oh, my God. Side quest right now, side, like, off the rail.
[01:09:03] But I think that's why, like, the PS, the Pokemon 30th. A lot of people are enjoying that set more because it is anti-Scalper. And I think that a lot of. So it's anti-Scalper because of the amount that they're printing. The spread out and the hit rate. Yeah. Because they didn't do it. They didn't do an immediate release with all products. First go.
[01:09:32] They're just split it up across three. You're only getting five cards per pack. It's all commons and then a rare. And then the chance for a secret rare. And then, yes, the hit rates are insane. Yeah. They're four times as forgiving as they were for any of the sets for this era. So for the past year and a half, they are four times better. Yeah.
[01:10:01] And I think, like, they're starting to talk. Because, like, they're still waiting for the million pack data. But for the pull rates? Yeah. For the actual pull rates. But right now, a lot of people are estimating that it's a one in three that you get. A one in four or five for a SIR. The illustration rates. It's a one in five.
[01:10:32] So they published 4,000 card data. Your pull rates for a double rare or an EX is one in two. Yep. For an IR, it's one in four. So an illustration rare. For a classic collection pull, it is one in 10. And SIR is one in 20, which is still really good. Like, what do you think of that?
[01:10:59] The futuristic rare is one in 50. And the RGB MU, which is the big chase, is one in 2,000 at the moment. Yeah. Which originally, the rumor was one in 20,000. Yeah. That's right now we're one in 2,000. But, I mean, like, that of the 4,000 pack, though it's just, it makes it more collectible rather than, like, let me scalp this off.
[01:11:29] Like, let me buy this scalp. Because you're not going to have people going out, searching in the secondhand market in order to find it because they've already pulled it. They managed to get it. They don't need to pay all that extra money. And that's why there's so much, there's so many videos out there about reflecting on scalpers that are whining about it because they spent, like, thousands and thousands of dollars
[01:11:55] with their distributor in order to scalp up the prices for their ETBs. And they're like, what am I going to do with all this? I can't feed my family because I spent all my money on Pokemon cards that I can't sell. I was like, that's the game that you got in, dude. Like, you got in knowing this. Yep. Yeah. So, I mean, like, I don't know what the price is going to be for a lot of the stuff. Obviously, the RGB Mio is still going to be way up there.
[01:12:24] But, like, all the SIR, the Secret Illustration Rares and like that, I have not seen one go, like, 30. Like, 30 is, like, a high. Because it's just... For a lot. For a lot. Yeah. Just ungraded. Oh, yeah. Ungraded. Raw, I think SIRs, at least some of the more desirable ones, like the Mewtwo, the Mew, the Jirachi,
[01:12:53] they're around 50 to 70. But pretty much everything else. We're looking for the Gengar one. And it's just like 40 bucks. I want the Gengar. But I did get two of the ones that I was searching for. I got the Fue Coco and the Daytime Pikachu, which was good. So, if it tells you anything with the hit rate, I opened up 59 packs so far. And I have... You have more to go?
[01:13:21] And I have 25 hits of IR or better. So, that includes the Classic Collection, SIRs, everything. I have seven SIRs out of the 59 packs, which is pretty damn good. Because there's only 10 SIRs. So, I have pretty much most of it done. With 59, I'm at 89% of the Master Set Complete.
[01:13:51] So, with that... Since we just went on a huge... Sorry, yeah. I mean, we didn't even get to Jerry yet. I know. That's what I was going to say. Jerry, what have you been playing? What have you been watching? Let's see. Hey, you've been playing Pokemon. Say you have an itch for opening packs. Come on. Say it. Say it. No. No opening packs of cards. You know, I'm still only sticking with my 97 and my Wolverine runs, but they're still kind of hard to find. But no, as of right now, I'm still just focusing on Onimusha.
[01:14:21] Yeah, for cards. So, you haven't been playing Wolverine? I haven't gotten it yet. I'm waiting... Actually, I was going to wait until this week because tomorrow's payday, so I'm going to get it possibly this week. Or it might actually... Has any of the bad reviews kind of put a... No. No, I'm still going to buy it. No? Okay. No. All right. No. Either way, I'm going to buy it. I'll play it and let you guys know. But no, I've been kind of focused... Just focused on Onimusha and just trying not to get too...
[01:14:52] Like, overzealous or like... And I'm really jonesing for GTA, dude. I cannot wait. So, yeah. I'm just trying to take my time. Just slowly hitting Onimusha Onimusha and I'm just waiting for GTA. And I have been watching... I'm almost finished with Paradise on Hulu. I got like two more episodes. I'm going to finish that. I'm officially done with Lioness. Man, this was such a good season two.
[01:15:24] I do need to watch Lioness. It's so good. But I've been watching Reacher and Neely. I need to catch up on Reacher. Reacher. I did catch up on Mobland as well with Tom Hardy. The first episode was like this week. Also, so good. And... It has Pierce Brosnan in it too, right? Pierce Brosnan and Helen Mirren. Okay. Yeah. And yeah, I think that's about it. I've really just been playing Onimusha
[01:15:54] and just... Yeah, focused on work and catching up on a few of those things. And that's it. Matt, what about you, bro? I've been playing a bit of my... My island. And Helldivers as of recently. As of today. That's right, boys. That's right. Just want to throw that reminder out there. Yeah, so I've been playing... Working on my island a little bit. I'm pulling up steam right now. Yes! Playing a bunch of Mario Kart World.
[01:16:24] Having fun with it. Oh, okay. The kids are having a blast with it. Just doing free roam together and chasing after each other and having a blast with it. So you really enjoy the open world part of it? Because that... For me personally, that kind of turned me off. But like I... It's kind of fun just to drive around and stuff. Okay. But... Yeah, I know. A few people were kind of like...
[01:16:54] Yeah, I mean, it's not... I mean, it's okay. It gives you something else to do with it. You know? Because a few people were kind of upset about the open world-ness. Like, it's like, what am I supposed to do? Yeah. They just kind of wanted it to be the old school way. So I mean... Yeah, I mean... If it doesn't bother you, it's kind of fun. I've kind of heard that like you drive through the open world to get to races too. No. Not so far. It's... No. So you start with a lap course and then some of the courses you drive a straight
[01:17:23] or a long race. It's just one way. Which is standard. To get something else. But you can also unlock certain items and stuff free roaming, right? Yes. Okay. Like costumes and stuff. Yeah. Honestly, I'm having fun with it. Um... But... What I really did play the absolute crap out of is the Final Fantasy Resonance demo.
[01:17:52] So I have finished the demo. All my characters are at level 15. Have the available weapons and everything at the time. I have my first summon, which is Siren. And I have five visions that I'm now going to go back through. and just level up so their compatibility with every character is maxed out at the level 5 that they let you have. So that way when the game comes out... So does that carry over
[01:18:21] to the release? It does. Oh, very cool. I'm going to have to... I'm going to have to get on that as well. I am going to be getting Resonance on my Switch. That's what threw me off, yeah. It does look a little bit better on my PlayStation, but I want to be able to play that game on the go. Like... Okay. And it does look really pretty on the Switch 2 screen. So... I've been pretty much been playing that and then playing a little bit of
[01:18:51] Halo campaign with a couple of my... my buddies from the comic book shop. So it's been... It's been fun, but... Been more just... Watching... You know, I finished watching a full... Almost a full run-through on Transformers. I've got Rise of the Beast left to watch. Okay. So I've done Bubble Bee. Oh, okay. The last one.
[01:19:20] Oh, or Bubble Bee. And then I am two-thirds of the way through the second Dungeon Crawler car book. Oh, cool. What's two-thirds? Like... So I'm on chapter 23. Let's find out. Okay. So Theo is going through the audio book. I'm actually reading it. Yes, I go through the audio. I do not have
[01:19:50] the attention span to actually read things. I'm sorry. Where am I? Chapter wise. I'm on... I'm almost done with 21. I like the idea of the audio book. Okay. Oh, cool. So... Yeah, they just... Theo, where I'm at is they just
[01:20:19] broke into the magistrate's office. Oh, okay. So that's where I'm at. But it's great. I love it. Highly recommend it for anybody that loves like Dungeons and Dragons and stuff like that. Theo's not the only person that told me that I should read... listen to the audio book because the voices are hilarious. But, yeah, so that's why I've been reading that too. So... Anyways,

No, what is it? This one is that's right. Bowling league. Oh, bowling. That's right. But you're going to Vegas,
[01:22:48] correct? Yep. Yeah, nice, dude. So, it'll be a fun time. Because it's the end of your bowling. Yeah. Yeah, it's like the tournament. Yeah. Nice, dude. Have fun. You know, go on a Vegas. Have fun. Relax. Yeah. Have a great time. You know, it is now officially fall. I feel like, you know, it's no longer hot. It's not like everywhere. It's not hot everywhere. So, you know, you get some actual like
[01:23:18] changing of season. So, hopefully you guys eventually we can, we can wear hoodies again. Yeah. No, I mean, you should always wear a hoodie, but you know, it's just sometimes you crazy. True. At least you can wear your beanie all the time. Sorry. Yeah. You know, all the time. Other than that, you know, it's, it's, uh, nothing. No, I've been, I've been, I've been dry the last few times. It's, I'm not gonna lie.
[01:23:48] It's all right, bro. That's okay. You just do you. Yeah. So it's all right. But you know, this time around though, I have, don't have to worry about it because every time my man, my man, the wall ski, send us out like you do. All right, y'all, especially since how much we went off the rails. Uh, we appreciate you listening to us. So thank you for watching. Thanks for listening. So next time. TTFN,
