[00:05:36] How are you guys feeling about what rebirth is done?

[00:05:51] I'll start. I mean, it's getting me wild.

[00:05:54] Like I'm still in the stage of just listening to, I've been listening to a few podcasts or people chat on YouTube and stuff about having just finished the game.

[00:06:02] And the amount that people are still feeling about the conversation that's still just growing about it has been incredible.

[00:06:12] And from a developer standpoint, the whole story just seems to be never ending.

[00:06:17] And it's kind of fascinating just kind of continuously listening to people find more and more stuff in the game have more and more theories have more like everyone's imagination is absolutely flying.

[00:06:28] The game seems to have been so well received by people that have played like all huge fans of the game and the people that are playing this for a living.

[00:06:39] So it's just amazing to be to be part of something that has been so well received and seems to be so loved by so many people that has created so much conversation, like whether some aspects of it being controversial.

[00:06:52] There's been so much conversation about it, which has been exciting. That's why I've taken that's what I've taken away for the last like three or four weeks.

[00:08:05] That scene like we talked about how much like in the beginning I didn't like K-Syth

[00:08:11] in the original game but just the way that whole scene played out like I could feel

[00:08:18] Paul like it's turmoil as he you know with that whole scene and just Vic just the way

[00:08:24] you just can't just the way you played that role is like I said to say you tore my heart out.

[00:08:30] I guess Caleb like now that we actually get to see you know actually get to spend some time with Zach.

[00:08:38] How does it feel?

[00:08:39] I mean, I just want to echo what Paul was saying.

[00:08:42] I when we're whenever we're recording the game, you know, we're in a booth by ourselves.

[00:08:46] We don't have a scene partner.

[00:08:48] We're just reading what the other characters lines are and playing off of, you know, a half done graphic.

[00:08:54] Which is so fun like that's crazy to say that that's our jobs is to do that, you know, as we're working on games.

[00:09:01] But I think the best part is I love going online and watching reaction videos to what people are discovering in the game.

[00:09:08] And it makes me emotional, you know, seeing these stories that we spent years now building and working on and getting to see the final iteration of it.

[00:09:17] And also people's reaction to it is just like I think I can speak on behalf of all of us.

[00:09:22] That's why we do this is to tell stories and, you know, and like Paul said, create conversations, great moments that stick with people.

[00:09:30] And yeah, it's just the it's surreal to watch these back into here our voices as part of this entire franchise.

[00:13:03] And so clearly she's mixed with something really small.

[00:13:21] So, so we're, we're stuck with a small dog, although I must admit that the wrestling

[00:13:26] matches are, are not very competitive.

[00:13:57] Because, you know, with the parts you guys played in the now, I'm going to say

[00:14:02] With rebirth and remake.

[00:14:03] What's been your biggest and your favorite, your most favorite response

[00:14:07] that you've seen from the community?

[00:14:09] Or what's touched you guys the most by, you know, the responses from the

[00:14:14] community, like individually?

[00:14:22] For me, I would say the acceptance, you know, because again, you're

[00:14:27] for rude.

[00:14:28] I'm kind of stepping into somebody else's shoes.

[00:14:33] But yeah, it has really been the embrace and people just say, hey,

[00:14:37] I like the work you did.

[00:14:39] Thank you.

[00:14:42] You know, meeting some of the people in person just to really just feel

[00:14:46] that sincere appreciation and say, hey, your work, your work

[00:14:52] just really made a difference.

[00:14:53] It impacted me, you know, added to our journey.

[00:15:32] It's the acceptance and growing up, I've been a huge fan of the

[00:15:36] Final Fantasy games and seven was my very first one I started off with.

[00:15:40] So it's just the acceptance and just people who like all my friends

[00:15:46] who counted me that knew how much I love the franchise.

[00:15:48] They're like, oh, wow, do you have like a whole full circle

[00:15:50] moment?

[00:15:51] You're actually in this thing and you kind of grew up with this.

[00:15:54] So yeah, that's it.

[00:15:58] How much you call?

[00:16:00] I mean, I would definitely second what both Danielle and William have

[00:16:05] said again from having coming in with a character that's not had

[00:16:09] this iteration before and has had other actors do it.

[00:16:12] And so there's been, I've felt an acceptance as well,

[00:16:14] which has been great and kind of reassuring because it's a

[00:16:18] sort of, it's a very, very, very, very, very, very,

[00:16:21] very reassuring because it's a sort of, it's just big shoes to fill

[00:16:26] on the character that's just sort of known and so many people

[00:16:29] have opinions of it.

[00:16:31] To take the question another way, if you're talking about a moment

[00:16:33] in the game, I have enjoyed, and maybe this is going to be

[00:16:36] a controversial topic, but I've enjoyed the way that people

[00:16:41] have discussed everything that happens around Aerith in the

[00:16:46] last chunk of the game and what that is.

[00:16:49] Like the ending, I know has left people, the more I listen to

[00:16:52] people talk about the ending of the game, they were sometimes

[00:16:56] left a bit flat and then they would go and think about it

[00:16:58] for a couple of days and the discussion that has come off

[00:17:01] the back of people letting it just sit there and consider

[00:17:06] like what's the game trying to tell me or what is the game

[00:17:10] trying to say to me now and what is this actually saying

[00:17:13] about an aspect of life where we actually talking about

[00:17:16] something about fate here that we're going to find out about

[00:17:19] in the third game.

[00:17:21] Like for me, I think they've done a really, really good job

[00:17:23] of handling an aspect of the game which everyone had huge

[00:17:26] anticipation for and in some ways you're kind of damned if

[00:17:29] you do or you're damned if you don't and so now that they

[00:17:32] have kind of managed to create a sort of third option

[00:17:36] in a way or that's how some people have heard it

[00:17:38] describe this third option that I never thought could

[00:17:40] exist because I thought well I'm going to be, I'm going

[00:17:42] to know what's going to, I know it's coming, if this

[00:17:44] happens and it was coming, if that happens the only way

[00:17:46] they can surprise me if a third option happens and in a

[00:17:48] way a third option has happened because I can't actually

[00:17:51] tell what's happened yet and so I think that for me

[00:17:54] has been the really, really nice thing to sort of just

[00:17:56] see people argue about it or talk about it or

[00:17:58] conversal over it.

[00:18:00] Yeah, so I think I'd be my answer for that along with

[00:18:02] what William was saying.

[00:18:06] You might be the only person on this planet and Matt

[00:18:09] already knows what I'm going to say here.

[00:18:11] You might be the only person on this planet that has

[00:18:14] ever gotten me to like Kate Sith.

[00:18:21] I literally going into rebirth was like, I swear to

[00:18:24] God if, if Square Enix makes me like this character,

[00:18:28] I'm not going to know what to do with my life

[00:18:31] because for 27 years I have spent disliking this

[00:18:35] character so much and then I go into rebirth

[00:18:38] and I hear Paul doing it and I'm like,

[00:18:44] I like this character.

[00:18:46] Honestly, I've kind of been the same boat because like before

[00:18:48] before you Paul, like the closest thing that I came to

[00:18:50] really loving Kate Sith was the abridged version that

[00:18:55] Nick Landis did.

[00:18:57] And seeing you like even from like the first trailer,

[00:19:01] I'm like, oh, I'm going to love this.

[00:19:04] Yeah.

[00:19:09] It goes back to my point, Paul.

[00:19:11] Like we talked about my, my dissonal like for Kate,

[00:19:15] you know, but you've got me to love Kate so much that yes,

[00:19:19] when that scene happened at Gold Saucer,

[00:19:21] you ripped my damn heart out.

[00:19:23] Like it was just like that.

[00:19:26] Caleb, you know, you've got another divisive character

[00:19:31] amongst the fan base, you know,

[00:19:35] because of where they're going with the game and stuff.

[00:19:38] But how have you felt though?

[00:19:42] I mean, like when you look at the,

[00:19:44] the community's response to how you've played Zach.

[00:19:47] Oh my gosh.

[00:19:49] One, I'd say that's a big thing too.

[00:19:50] What everyone's been saying just the acceptance,

[00:19:53] getting to meet people in person was just,

[00:19:55] it was unreal of, you know,

[00:19:58] connecting with people who have Zach tattoos across their body.

[00:20:02] I'm not even brave enough to get my tattoo, you know,

[00:20:06] and just to see Zach across half a body, you know,

[00:20:10] it does something to you, you know,

[00:20:12] that these stories and these characters,

[00:20:14] they really impact people.

[00:20:16] And I remember meeting one guy who told me

[00:20:18] that his brother had recently passed

[00:20:20] and that final fantasy got him through that, you know,

[00:20:23] and I just think that we're getting to tell

[00:20:25] these amazing stories,

[00:20:26] but we're also getting to be a part of people's lives

[00:20:28] and the highs of lives.

[00:20:30] You know, we met people at conventions that have gotten engaged

[00:20:33] from meeting on, you know, different gaming communities

[00:20:36] and then people who have lost the people

[00:20:38] that are closest to them

[00:20:39] and they've all connected from this game is just

[00:20:42] this unreal gift that we have, you know,

[00:20:45] to be a part of.

[00:20:47] Yeah, it's pretty, pretty wild.

[00:20:49] Yeah, our buddy Drew,

[00:20:52] which John knows Drew,

[00:20:55] that was something him and his brother used to play

[00:20:58] Final Fantasy with their dad.

[00:21:00] And that was something they continued to carry on

[00:21:03] after his passing and it's

[00:21:06] Drew just, they love Final Fantasy

[00:21:08] and they've said that that's their connection, right?

[00:21:12] It's what's kept them going

[00:21:14] in memories of their dad to that point.

[00:21:23] What's it feel like being back with your Turks?

[00:21:41] what was really fun was like everyone was wondering

[00:21:44] who Elena was going to be

[00:21:46] and like to finally get to reveal like, you know,

[00:21:49] so we met Piper back in,

[00:21:52] William, when was that like back in June or something like that?

[00:21:56] Something like that.

[00:21:58] Maybe June on somewhere in the summer.

[00:22:00] I just remember going to the concert.

[00:22:02] Yeah, yeah.

[00:22:03] So, yeah, so the Square Enix people were really great

[00:22:06] and they invited us to the,

[00:22:08] to this wonderful symphony of,

[00:22:10] of all of the Final Fantasy music soundtrack

[00:22:14] and it was incredible

[00:22:16] and that's where, that's where we got to meet Piper

[00:22:19] for the first time.

[00:22:20] And so, so that was, that was really exciting

[00:22:23] because there's always people wondering about that whole thing

[00:22:26] and yeah, it's fun.

[00:22:29] And like, so we all had the secret.

[00:22:31] We all knew this, but of course we weren't allowed

[00:22:33] to reveal it, but now that,

[00:22:35] now that we're all out of the open, it's pretty cool.

[00:22:37] So.

[00:22:39] So I do get asked, I'm going to ask this question

[00:22:42] specifically to Caleb, William and Paul.

[00:22:47] And this is something,

[00:22:49] and this is something the rest of the folks on this

[00:22:52] have done and it was something that

[00:22:55] a mutual follower of some of us,

[00:22:58] Shender Corp, were talking about the other day.

[00:23:01] We all remember that infamous holiday episode

[00:23:04] where we asked

[00:23:06] the entire tour.

[00:23:09] Oh boy.

[00:23:10] He just died hard at Christmas movie.

[00:23:13] So, so the question is,

[00:23:17] so is die hard at Christmas movie,

[00:48:42] So we had a little bit of a dialogue with me and John.

[00:48:48] He walked me around the entire con floor,

[00:50:28] And John, like I said, took me in like I was his best friend,

[00:50:33] gave me a big bear hug.
